Really great breakfast for a really great price.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Amazing food, service and atmosphere! It's so worth traveling 2 hrs to this diner. Kathy is excellent!!! Appreciate you all and keep being our go-to dining experience whenever we're in Albany 😊👏.

This diner is absolutely fabulous!! Quick seating (10am), attentive and friendly staff, food came out quickly (we had breakfast), didn't feel rushed and pricing was super cheap. Food was delicious!! I highly recommend if you want no frills but home cooked, belly filling food at a great price!!

My wife and I were passing through and looking for a good traditional diner for breakfast. What a pleasant surprise. The food was great, the staff was wonderful, it was very clean and the prices were more then fair (hint hint to the owner). Thank you.

My friend and I were seated at a small booth with plexiglass between the a joining booth. Servers were courteous and wore masks. Our breakfast was delicious and prices reasonable. The place was at it's full limit, but only a short wait. Enjoy!

So when I say I drove 2 hrs and 30 mins for this place I'm not lying. The experience and food is just that good. Friendly service, great tasting food and fast service. Skyline doesn't disappoint! Ask for Kathleen, she was the best!

The food is always great. I travel to this area a few times per year for business and I always have breakfast at Skyline. The food is great and reasonably priced and the staff is always excellent.

Good service, good food, good prices. Totally remodeled, Skyline Diner looks great and the decor is casual and inviting. The bright red exterior outside looks nice and is hard to miss. Inside is an homage to several world cities starting with Albany. Tastefully done it just seems to go with the modern, yet slightly retro atmosphere that includes some of the chairs and other assorted details. Comfortable, accommodating and satisfying you will enjoy your surroundings, have a good meal and not have to dig too deep into your pockets. You can even get a mug or a T-shirt to go.

Unbeleivably reasonable and exceptional quality. My heart goes out to folks who serve in ways like a waitress and cook and never get paid like a CEO, but serve just as many people and bless just as many people with high quality service and great food. My omelet was superb, home fries crispy on the outside with a delightful touch of seasoning and nice soft fry on the inside. The cook and waitress deserve blessings and I hope Gods watchful arm is there to guide you, Thank you for your quality service and happy holidays.

I had my first experience here recently, and was very happy with everything. Staff seemed to take all the mandated precautions seriously, and still delivered great service. Breakfast menu was laid out simply and concisely. Food came out in excellent time, and looked and tasted really good. Going to try make this a regular spot in the future.

My partner and I absolutely love this place. The service is amazing, everyone is very friendly and kind. Food always comes out quickly and is very tasty. The prices are extremely reasonable. Would reccomend for a quick lunch or a breakfast with friends. :)

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful breakfast after Church. I had a Vegetable omelet done to perfection. It came with home fries and toast. Although they were busy we only waited a few minutes to be seated. The food came out promptly and the service was great. They serve breakfast and lunch only. Parking is a little tight but it was manageable and we found a spot. Overall a great experience.

Ordered takeout this morning for brunch with my sister at home. The food was excellent! Large fluffy pancakes, a huge waffle, great ham and bacon. The juices and coffees were tasty, the coffee still warm even going through delivery! Plenty of butter, syrup, sugar/creamers. Will definitely order from here again!!

Fast delicious breakfast! We tried the Western Omelette Sandwich and it was wonderful! Served on a toasted roll, it was surprisingly still soft and perfect for an egg sandwich. We ate it so fast I forgot to get photos but highly recommend for a quick meal. They had a huge menu and it looked like lots of locals dine there. A great choice for a meal in Albany.

After finding our two choices for breakfast closed (it was Monday, after all), we found and LOVED The Skyline Diner!! Since we are from Massachusetts and not familiar with the area, our GOOGLE search led here. I love a big breakfast and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Meat Lovers omelet and my son had Cinnamon French Toast with scrambled eggs and a side of corned beef hash. Wonderfully friendly and efficient waitress. Our food came out very quickly...no exaggeration! If you are disappointed with this diner...you are too fussy!

Delicious food, great service. I got a corned beef hash omelet (it's not on the menu) with home fried potatoes and toast and it was very tasty and plentiful. I had enough for a togo box so I could enjoy the leftovers the next morning.

Best Breakfast in the area! I always get the skyline special with 2 eggs sausage hash browns and toast, it comes with a small juice and coffee or tea! The waitresses are so nice and the service is always fast.

I dined here for the first time this morning, since I had business in the neighborhood. Everything was very well prepared, but the home fries really stood out as some of the best I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned, with that oh so elusive outer crunch that seems to evade most other diners. I'd go back just for them alone! Quick, efficient and very pleasant service. Highly recommended.

Great food and fast! The staff is always punctual and tentative. Never had a bad experience. You can tell the owner puts his heart into his menu and makes sure repeat experiences are just as good as the first! We drive past 3 diners to come to this one!

It was a 22-minute walk from the Amtrak station as I was heading to Montreal but worth every minute. The waitress (W? on at 11 am) was excellent. The food was great and the prices were amazing.

Hands down the best diner in the capital district. I’ve been here probably 2 dozen times and I’ve never had a bad experience. Just get any omelette and you can’t go wrong. Staff are amazing too

My staff and I love this place. We order gyros several times a week and have it delivered via grubhub. Always fast, hot and correct. My kid is very finicky and they always make sure his order is just right. Absolutely recommend!!

I recently attended the breakfast here honoring Matthew Mardon, a young man who was tragically killed when he was struck by a drunk driver on I-90 on September 30, 2025. The memorial breakfast was beautifully done. The staff was kind and accommodating; the coffee was piping hot and delicious; and the food was tasty and satisfying. I had the scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, and rye toast. I enjoyed every bite and will definitely return! May Matthew Mardon rest in paradise. Please don't drink and drive. Call Uber. Make a plan. Save a life.

Expansive selection of breakfast and lunch items on the menu. I always seem to pick the omelets, even when I go for lunch, because they're well made and the meat in them is always very tasty. Tom is usually my server and he's great. Besides high food quality, the kitchen staff is lightning fast. I don't think I have ever waited more than 5 minutes for my food.

Had the lunch special - soup, sandwich and soda for $13. The creamy chicken and rice soup was superb - not too salty (my common complaint about soup is that it is way too salty). The turkey sandwich was also excellent with plenty of meat and nicely toasted bread. The potato salad had a little bit of a vinegar taste which some may like (think of German potato salad) but is not to my taste. Service was very quick and the server was experienced. Atmosphere is classic diner. One wall (pictured and shown near the ceiling) had the history of diners in this location going back to 1935.

My favorite diner in the area, you get what you pay for. Fresh food and great coffee. Plus they have their cups for sale! Easy parking, usually packed on the weekend. So get there early! Has been there my whole life under a few different owners, but this time they have hit the nail on the head. I'm confident theyre here to stay and continually show up and show out when it comes to a quality diner experience.

Very cute diner. The service was great, the food was very good. I had the vegetable omelet and my husband had the quesadilla with ham. The prices were good also. The one thing I would suggest is for them to offer military discounts. Most of the diners we go to say yes to military discounts.

Everyone was super friendly in and out and the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered eggs benedict before from other places and I tell you, Skyline Diners would be my #1 eggs benedict place! I've always loved this place, but today 4/25/23. My husband and I came in, after a check up from surgery for my hubby to start dialysis. Heidi was our waitress. She just lighted our mood with her bright smile and positive vibes. She was on top of her service, professional and friendly. Food is always amazing. No surprise there. But they hit me good today. Stuffed grape leafs, greek lemon rice soup, chicken gyro, with DISCO FRIES!!! What!?! It was the prefect meal for this gal.

Don't doubt this place and just give it a try already. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning and enjoyed every minute of it. We were greeted by friendly staff members and were seated right away. Atmosphere: This diner is very quaint and adorable. I personally loved the color theme and the decor. Everything is nicely spaced out so there's ample amount of room between the guest. Staff: The staff here was very friendly from the moment we walked in up until we left. I can't remember our server's name but they all seem to be friendly and joyous. Food: The food was served within a very timely fashion. Our order arrived, accurate, fresh & tasty. It also doesn't hurt that the prices are amazing considering the portion sizes. Overall, this diner is a win/win. You can't go wrong with giving this place a try. Great prices, great food & great staffing what else could a person need?

I ordered a Cobb salad while on a work lunch. It was delicious until my second dressing cup was expired and I didn't realize until after I put it on my salad. The staff were nice enough to make me a new one and I decided on no dressing. The salad was delicious and I would still go back.

I've always enjoyed eating here and have been many many times and will be back. Only complaint I really have is their breakfast sandwiches leave a little to be desired. Lunch is solid. Exactly what u would expect from a diner.

I don't think I've ever gone there and had a bad experience with the food. It's a nice little diner. My biggest complaint is that I wish it had longer operating hours. But I definitely recommend it.

I have driven by this place on my way to my office for years. I was hungry and had some time to kill one Sunday morning. The place is awesome. Great service. Great food quality. The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend the place.

Skyline Diner isn't much to look at from the outside (not the old traditional diner look at all) and it is located on a stretch of Route 20 in Rensselaer that I generally only stop in if I happen to need gas at that point. But don't let that put you off. The interior is spacious and has a counter with stools that give it more of a diner feeling. I am told that at certain times Skyline not only fills up, but also has a long line in front, so it is definitely popular. I was there for breakfast. Coffee came quickly, and it was good. My friend and I each had variations on Eggs Benedict, which we both liked, and the menu had a variety of other offerings that were very tempting. Skyline Diner is just a short and easy drive over the bridge from Albany, and is well worth a visit. I look forward to returning.

Pretty classic diner with the usual breakfast fare. Service was really on point. Coffee never got empty or cold. And I had a whole meal for like $12. Would definitely return.

Food was excellent! We enjoyed it so much we forgot to photo it. However, the service was not so great. Our server didn’t make eye contact, ignored our thank you’s, and seemed irritated or inconvenienced. It could be due to us arriving near closing. I’m willing to try it again or maybe just order take out, because those chocolate chip pancakes were phenomenal!

Breakfast here was good! Western sandwhiches with cheese were tasty. The most annoying part is both sandwiches (we ordered two) had eggshell in them. Ughh. Maybe just an off day, so I will likely try it again.

Food is excellent, the diner itself is beautiful on the interior and the people are cheery. The waffles and breakfast sandwich options are superb, and the food came out ridiculously fast. Our empty drinks were never taken for refills, though, and that’s kinda sad.

I love diners and this is one of the best "real" diners in the area (as in they're not priced like a restaurant). The staff are great the food is decent and the prices are fair. I'd give them 5 stars if they switched to Coca Cola products or started serving milkshakes.

I love this little diner. Used to be named Vivians Diner. It's been in the community a long time.

Interesting place, the food was good, basic diner fare. No huge portions or fancy anything. The decor is a little fancier than the average diner, but that doesn't hurt authenticity. The help was great, and even packed my beverage to go. I'll keep it on my list of places worth visiting.

The waitress accommodated my preferred eating habits, recommending a good alternative to a daily special that wasn't right for me. Prices are lower than a few of the shinier diners across the river.

I’ve been to Skyline Diner several times, and it’s always a mixed experience. The service is hit or miss—sometimes decent, other times pretty slow. The food, though, is consistent: standard diner-style breakfast, nothing spectacular but does the job. If you’re looking for a basic, no-frills breakfast spot, it works, but don’t expect anything beyond the usual.

The atmosphere of this place is awesome though you wouldn't know it from driving by. The Baltimore crab melt was a huge letdown unfortunately. It was made out of Pollock which is imitation crab meat. It was basically a cold seafood salad which you'd get from Hannaford thrown onto some toasted rye bread with yellow cheddar and a slice of tomato. Totally misleading from the description on the menu. The spinach triangles on the other hand were amazing and I'd definitely get it again.

Really like it here. They serve strong coffee. The staff are efficient and experienced. The food is good quality. I'm here at 11:30 on a Sunday during coronavirus and their still somehow keeping pace. Food quality doesn't seem to have decreased at all either. The only reason they're not getting five stars is because I think they could do better with the menu, specifically the pricing and the combo meals. Overall I'd highly recommend!

Omlette was dry and overcooked, as were the home fries. They were somewhat busy and the customers seemed to be loyal. I'm going to give them another try soon.

I was disappointed in the food. The pea soup tasted like Campbell's and the brown gravy they put on my hot roast beef was canned as well. But the coffee was really good. Probably won't go back.. it been a few years since I ate there, and it will be a few more before I go back again

Great atmosphere and service, but food was average. Heads up: their Belgian waffle is not the version that has the outer sugar texture with broioche dough; it’s just the big waffle version with no flavor. The Skyline fries had potential, but they were over seasoned, so couldn’t fully enjoy them.

I have made probably about 6 orders through here to give them a fair chance but 4 out of 6 of the orders the omlettes had egg shells in them. I also find the home fries to be undercooked and hard most times. Everybody always recommends this diner but I cannot.

Food was terrible both my wife and I felt sick the waitress and fellow waitress were having some sort of drama going on even the greeter was rude never returning there

We had a turkey dinner with salad and burger w/fries,coleslaw and soup. Idk what happened, but neither of us liked the food. The fries was the only good thing I had. My burger called the Pitsburger tasted bad. The potato soup with dill tasted like basically nothing except dill. My Mom had the turkey dinner which she had once before 3 weeks ago. She said the potatoes were made with water not milk like last time. The stuffing looked unappetizzing and she left most of it. Most likely never returning. Bathroom is out of order still. For 3 weeks no working bathroom in a restaurant?
