Was booked into the Best Western Hotel at the same intersection and when asked what was good to eat around the area, the gentleman at the front desk went through all the options (ALOT) and skimmed over this place as being very popular but not sure what they serve. I looked it up and saw the reviews so we went for it. According to their website they have been there for 40+years, and wow were we surprised at how good this place was. The steak tacos were to die for, the chicken had no flavor which was weird considering everything else tasted AMAZING. The fries were truly WORLD FAMOUS as the menu states, and you can definitely make a meal out just the fries alone. The chili cheese dog was interesting in that it has sauerkraut, mustard and then chili on top of that. A weird combination that I have never seen before but it does work! And the patty melt was the bomb diggity as well! I just hope we get another job in this area of the U.S. just so i can have a reason to go eat here again!
Some seriously delicious food and while the prices were semi-recently jacked up a bit, their food is so good that it doesn't even matter! My absolute favorite there is their pastrami sandwiches! And their fries are amazing! Their portions are huge too so I almost always end up taking some home with me
Found this place while passing by and ordered chili cheese fries and oh man!!! So delicious!! And quick! They have a little dine in area and also an area to eat outside but still inside. Wish I wouldve took a pic of the food but it looked to good I couldnt wait. Good selection of fountain drinks too. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu 😜
This place was all it was hyped up to be. I had a double cheeseburger with fries. Oh did I say fries? I mean I could have made a meal alone on the amount of fries they gave me. Plus they were delicious. Cooked perfect. So was the cheeseburger and gyro. I highly recommend going and paying them a visit.
Order the pastrami burger with fries. You will not regret it. That burger and their fries are both absolutely amazing. One of the valley’s true gems. There’s even a locally iconic wall mural that says “the Valley” on it in the parking lot! (Shared with Cupid’s). Pastrami burger and fries!
The fries... the best you can get of its ilk, or maybe at all; and generous portions. This is a locally known spot. Everyone who lives around this place ends up here, because it's absolutely delicious for the fare it provides. I've never had a bad experience at Daglas, and I've been here hundreds of times over the years. If you're looking for burgers and fries, seriously look no further. This is the place.
The best burger joint in the valley!
Large Chili Cheese fries with onions. You can never go wrong eating at this place. I have been going here for the past 3-4 year. The Staff are nice and the food is amazing. I am never left disappointed.
Bomb mom-n-pops burger 🍔 joint! It's a must. The fries 🍟 are the best. Eat there for the fries can stay crispy, who doesn't love crunchy fries
Awesome burgers. Amazing french fries. It nails the two necessary staples of the burger joint. You also get a ton of french fries with your order, so if you go with a friend, you can easily split one order between yourselves. Also, their wifi is pretty solid, great for when I'm waiting for friends. Only downsides: parking is a little tough during the lunch hours. And during the peak heat summer months, they don't have sufficient AC for a comfortable dining experience. But if you go for dinner and you're not roasting in a heat wave, definitely give it a shot. Otherwise...eh, get it to go; their food's still top notch wherever you eat it.
Been coming here for years. Loved the combo #6. Now I'm vegetarian so I had stopped coming. BUT they have a veggie patty! So I am back and enjoying the food again. Man how I missed eating here. And the FRIES soooo Good! Definitely recommend eating here.
Fries, fries, Fry-day, every day. Double Cheeseburger is great and a full meal for me. The staff is friendly and helpful but because the order window is right near the street it's sometimes a little hard to hear so you have to lean down and put your ear in the window.
The best burgers in the Valley one of my favorites places to eat in the delivery of food and table is really quickly very expensive but it doesn't matter. To me they're old style burgers and I really love eating there often. And the fries are the best
Old, family run burger stand, fresh ingredients, no frills, just good food. The best fries in So Cal, (4 seasons) But try the Carne Asada Tacos, surprisingly good!!
Today I visited Daglas Drive-In for the first time and it was spectacular!!! I had a pastrami sandwich and fries. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. I will make many more trips here to try new things on the menu. So glad I found this place. Eat there! You will not be disappointed.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Best fries in the valley. Extremely good burgers as well. The milkshakes are incredible too! The indoor eating area is clean and comfortable and the staff is super friendly! One of my favorite burger joints in the west valley!
Very good charbroiled burger....and oh my goodness, the Fries! Did I mention they have Orange Bang! Highly recommend this place. You can tell they use very good quality meat, potatoes, seasoning, and cooking oil. It really tastes good. Here is a good tip when ordering to go from Daglas:keep the plastic bag open on your drive home. All the food and fries are so fresh and so hot, that if you tie the bag closed you will trap all the steam and your fries and burger will be soggy. I think this answers the question to those reviews who said the fries were soggy.
Food is cooked fresh and flavorful! I enjoy the pastrami sandwich, it has a lot of meat which I find rare to find with other pastrami sandwiches in the area. The Fries are seasoned to perfection and always hits the spot. A great place to go to if you're into just old-fashioned burger and fries joints!
I lived here back when they originally opened it up. It was 1964 to 1966. The food was fantastic then and fantastic now. I live in Pennsylvania now, and when I was here visiting, I couldn't resist stopping in. Thank you for the great food and a lot and great memories.
Man what can I say about this place that hasn't been said. I recently came up on this place mainly because its so easy to miss, just a small spot with a window, but what it lacks it looks it makes up in substance. The food here is incredible mainly the burgers, if you like the good classics then you're in for a treat. Juicy meat, crisp veggies, and soft bread all come together in a beautiful symphony of flavor and add a mess of fries and its just overkill. One thing to mention, if you like crispy small fries then you might not like what this place serves but for everyone else will like thick and plump potatoes. This is definitely my new burger spot.
Can’t ever go wrong with this spot. Used to hit this up with old co workers on lunch and man it was the best. My go-to was the pastrami sandwich with fries and was always so bomb. Like everyone else says, they load you up on seasoned fries which are delicioussss. If you’re in the area and craving a burger joint that’s not like the rest of the usual fast food chains you need to give this place a try!
They are always good but don't have fried zucchini its weird. I bought onion rings i needed it for side dish at home. Tasty
A friend recommended Daglas Drive-in to me and they never miss. This place is phenomenal! Excellent burgers and their fries are out of this world. If you're looking for a great burger spot, Daglas Drive-in is a place to check out!
Are you really questioning this place well , your missing out cheeseburger smaking, add extras bacon mushrooms etc, pastrami , chicken sandwiches, have a meal that they enjoy in heaven DAGLAS Thank you , I know whst biggie was talking about when he wrote his album I'm ready to die after this food you're ready to die is so delicious.THIS DINNER IS NOT AVERAGE ENJOY .
At first the steep 20 dollar price made me skeptical, but it turned out to be worth the price for the cheeseburger meal. The double cheeseburger was huge and very filling, the fries were also a very big portion and everything was amazing. Very fresh and tasty.
Best food in the valley! The hot pastrami is the best i have ever had. And their customers service is always great.
Great burgers. And amazing fries! Been coming here for over 25 years.
The best burgers and fries that you'll find I'm the San Fernando Valley. Hands down and I don't want to hear any arguments. This family owned business has a reputation that everyone knows about and as soon as you say DAGLAS everyone know that you're about to get the best fries you've ever had. The quantity is massive as well. Here's an insider tip: try the guacamole! They make it in house and it goes great on the burger and the fries!
The best burgers around! This is our go to for burgers in the Valley and they are consistently hot, fresh, and delicious. I love adding bacon to my burger too, it’s actually thick and crispy. And of course the fries are amazing and plentiful. The price is kinda high, but honestly not that much more than somewhere like Carls Jr, and I’d much rather pay a little bit more to support a local business and for something delicious.
One of our favorite spots! Fries are so yummy! 😋
Great burgers cooked on the grill. Really really great burgers. Fries are amazing too. Service could use a bit of the friendly and helpful side of things. Atmosphere is a bit rough but I'm sure it's only cause I'm not local to the area. Would def come here again and again.
They make the best soft shell Carne Asada Tacos made with just onions, cilantro, spicy sauce......the best in all of Southern California. Everything is seasoned to perfection. The pastrami sandwich is good, as is the pastrami burger. The french fries are made from fresh peelesd potatatoes and also seasoned to perfection....keptchup not needed. This is one of my go-to spots in the San Fernando Valley. Employees are nice !nd profeaaional. Service is good, as long as customers dont come with shenananigans....they have a sign posted about that. 😄 Minimal parking is in the rear, but its shared with another fast food restaurant on the corner. The only complaint is, Daglas does not stay open late. I think they close at 9 pm, even on Fridays and Saturdays. Plan ahead of time to get your food while they are open.
10 years ago I became acquainted with this place because of their fries, and they're really good. The owner of this bar was my former client at a bank I worked at and she always told me to come try the food. But finally now that I moved into the area I tried the food. 10/10 this is a great a spot! Burgers are delicious.
Been visiting this GREAT business for years. ALWAYS get the Heart Attack Special. Simply put, the BEST.....TRY IT OUT....
Very friendly staff and great menu. Food is salty but satisfying.
One of the very last of the great charbroiled burger stands still standing in the San Fernando Valley. A double cheese burger with extra onions and a sack of those famous fries does it for me. Good pastrami too. And after you're done making a glutton of yourself, you can walk over to Winnetka Bowl and have an enjoyably workout throwing a few frames. And maybe blow a few calories off? The San Fernando Valley is changing rapidly. So I suggest you take advantage of any local culture while you still can.
Some of the best burgers in the valley. Pricey but worth it. Fries are great too.
Everything burger and fries. Classic charbroiled. Classic fries you need to eat in a brown paper bag. Best in the San Fernando valley.
11/18/25 Been back several times and burgers are always tasty! One issue I have is the online menu, I think it needs an update!!! I'd really like a double cheeseburger for $9.50 but I don't think this happening. My girlfriend gets the Caesar salad but it comes with Ranch dressing not Caesar dressing. Not a big deal unless you actually wanted a Caesar style dressing. Food is pretty darn good!! Burgers are big and tasty and the fries are huge! Good milk shakes too. I'm going to treat myself to a double cheeseburger this Friday!! 2020: Update: I had that double cheese burger and it hit the spot! I snapped a few photos of current menu.
Everytime we're in the valley, we make sure to stop by. Cheeseburgers are delicious and you can never go wrong with an insane amount of fries in a bag! My mouth is watering thinking about it again. 😄
07/22/2025 Damn I love this place! I first discovered it in 2012 and I was a regular here since. I was a regular customer here in 2012, 2013, 2014, and the last time I was here was 2017 (8 years ago) when I ordered their pastrami sandwich. This year, I was doing a research about best hamburgers in the Valley and this one came out, I was surprise to learn that this place was historical and have been here since 1970's. I usually get their "double bacon cheese burger" and not once I have been disappointed. This spot and "Michael's burger" in Canoga Park have been one of my favorite burger spot.
GET THE FRIES! I REPEAT: GET THE FRIES! I’ve never been the jealous type, but after eating the fries at this place yesterday. I was instantaneously jealous of every Californian that gets to enjoy this establishment on the regular basis lol. The portions-as already mentioned in other posts are massive, but these are absolutely hands down the best fries I’ve ever had! The other items I tried were I’d OK, I wasn’t really impressed with the cheeseburger or the patty melt. The homemade taquito were good better than the other ones the regular ones. But it’s ok I’m coming back for what really matters….the FRIES 😍
What a little gem! A cheeseburger like you always dreamed of. Extra points for the taste of the red relish. Super fair prices for today’s reality; make sure you get a tzatziki side for $1.50 - it’s delicious and goes well with the MOUNTAIN of fries that comes with the combo. Super clean, too, which is always valued. Way to go guys!!
Great fry's and great food been the same for centuries!🎯🎯🎯 Usually get the chicken sandwich decided to switch it up. Ordered the bacon cheese burger and let me tell you. For the price, it is definitely worth it. Taste-wise and size wise. The seasoning on the fries is amazing and I always recommend to get a well done fries. Best place in the valley.
Daglas is truly one of the most amazing burger restaurants in the valley. For Daglas, everyday is “Fry” day and for good reason. They give you tons of fries with every order.(make sure to ask for extra crispy) You know the fries are absolutely delicious when the oil is seeping through the bag. The burgers are homemade and taste like they were grilled in a backyard. Definitely a homely place with great pricing and food. Only issue is they charge for ranch, but what can you do... at least they give you enough to save for later.
A great, old school burger and fry joint, that makes a heck of a lot more than burgers and fries: pastrami sandwiches gyros sandwiches, and the all-important pastrami cheeseburger! French fries come in giant bags, onion rings the same. It's not inexpensive, but they are friendly, the food is high quality, and it's made the way it's been made for decades.
It has been too long since I treated myself to Daglas. This place is in my top five burger spots of all time. So when I walked up to the window I was already picturing that incredible pastrami burger. There is just something about how the two meats compliment each other. To finish off my order I went with a small bag of onion rings and a small bag of fries. Just as an FYI the small bags are big enough to share.
A small little obscure hamburger place off the freeway, wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't recommended by a friend. It's been here over 40 years and the hype did not disappoint. The double bacon cheeseburger was hot, fresh and delicious. If you're a fan of fries, & who isn't, u get more than enough for just 1 order. For some nostalgia and a piece of history stop by and treat yourself to some great food.
An iconic Valley burger joint. I've been coming to Daglas since I was a kid. The food here is fantastic. Veggies are always fresh, and all the meats are perfectly seasoned and cooked. You have to try the fries! A large order of fries is more than enough for three people. This place is worth a drive, and you can alway call ahead to place your order.
Good food, high prices, not a great location. Parking sucks as well. A pastrami burger combo came to $28.
Daglas has some of the best fries in California!! I ordered just a small order of fries with easy seasoning salt. Their small fries are more in portions than other restaurants large fries.
The Legacy is over. I've been coming here for the last 20 years. Today was the first time back since the pandemic. They no longer offer large drinks, and don't do refills. So your only option is to buy another $3 small soda. Takes away from the true Daglas experience. This place used to be known for those generous portions. Burger is still good and fries are still good. Let's get back to normal please.
I give them a 3.5 or maybe 3.75 Food is tasty and prices are good. Cheeseburger and pastrami burger are both fantastic. Onion rings are just meh. Their fries seen to be what they are known for, but I'm not sure why. They're OK, but nothing to write home about. They are the big soggy type, which I'm not a fan of. They taste good, but not the kind of thing I think of when I crave fries. Parking here sucks. There isn't a lot. And the street out front isn't open to park. You need to use the residential streets around the corner, or the Cupid's lot next door. Mind you, they have a sign up saying you can use Cupid's lot, which is nice because I wouldn't if I didn't see that. But still, parking is a hassle. I'll also say they messed up my order and didn't give me one of my items, but they replaced it no problem so I don't really let that change my rating...stuff happens sometimes, they handled it well. In fact I give them kudos for that. Good service here.
This spot is solid as far as burger stops are concerned. I had the pastrami burger and it was definitely on point. If you're going with a group, you should definitely order only one order fries, they are massive! I'm a heavy eater and my friend and I couldn't even finish one. Enjoy!
This place is really for take out but there are a few tables if you want to eat there. The fries are great but they are not like McD’s; they’re just real, fresh, fried potatoes with yummy seasoning. All of the food we’ve tried has been good, not super high end or fancy but solid good food.
Obviously the pastrami is the best here. Servings are massive though. Would be nice if you could order half a serving because I have a serving as a full serving...
Great burgers, good service. Area is a bit sketchy at night. Indoor and outdoor dining. Prices are expensive, paid $18 for a double cheese burger, and small fries, no drink. Will return, however, not as often due to cost.
I can only comment on the burgers because that's what I had so... I would say it's like if Burger King was actually good. I got the double which is actually very big, and on top of that they love you lots of fries. They fries were pretty great, crispy, well cooked, and seasoned really well. My only thing is that I should have sat in the inside seating because outside is LOUD. The road is busy and garbage trucks and semi's are frequent.
Food is amazing but the restaurant is not as clean as it should be.
I'd love to be able to give Daglas 5 ⭐ s, but the chocolate milk shake was just fine. It was (very) cold and refreshing, but lacked solid chocolate flavor. For some reason I expected better. Next time, I'll get the fries 🍟. I saw the pre cut potatoes 🥔 and they looked good. Update: Went back and had a cheeseburger burger and fries. Both were solid. The small fries portion was HUGE. (It could easily feed 2 or 3 people!). They were well seasoned. Note: Prices have gone up significantly. Don't expect a cheap meal here.
This place is an old style burger place with 2023 prices. They give you a ton of fries with a small order. Food is fine overall but I wouldn’t make the drive to it. Milkshakes were fine too. Overall FINE food is ok try it if you would like
Food is good but they rinse you on the pricing. $25 for a Double cheeseburger with onion rings and a drink. What really got me was the $1.50 plus tax for Ranch after I received my order. Similar burgers anywhere else in LA $15 max with free condiments.
Great place. Delicious burgers and better fries. I don't mind paying a premium to support a local spot. $40 for two meals fine but really a $1 refill on a fountain drink is crazy.
Great burger and nice people working here. I wish they had thinner fries with less grease. The seasoning was fantastic though!
Let's start off by saying beware of the entrance, as it's a bit confusing. The setup is a little odd but hey not a deal breaker. You order outside and there's a few tables to sit at and there's also a little portion of tables for indoor dining self serve. Food doesn't take long to prepare and it's not very pricey and this is definitely a step up from Farmer Boys or Bob's Big Boy. The burger is great and when all the reviews have warned you of an ABUNDANCE of fries, they're not lying. I got the combo and between the burger and fries, my boyfriend and I ate a whole bag worth between the two of us with a whole extra bag to spare. The onion rings were mediocre which was disappointing. They lack any flavor or seasoning at all but the fries were good and excess. If you're tired of a quick made burger like McDonalds or Burger King, Carls, this is a good break for a quality burger.
The French fries were our favourite. We haven't tried many of their foods but what we have has been good. I thought the burgers were going to be amazing but it was just good. Some stuff is overpriced, little to no parking. They have inside and outside sitting.
The burger and pastrami sandwich were amazing. So was my wild cherry shake. I haven't been here for about 10 years and things have not changed too much about it-- except the prices. For the majority it was good. However, the French fries were so bad they all ended up in the trash. The fries were totally nasty old oil made it greasy and soggy and a brown color plus they just added so much season salt. I'm not sure we will go back as the price was a lot and the fries made my husband sick.
Iconic burger joint in the valley. They are best known for their French fries which are heavily seasoned. The burgers are ok, they do taste fresh. I keep coming back for the fries! The portion of the fries are huge. The reason I'm not leaving 4 or 5 starts is because of the price. It's probably cheaper to eat at Denny's. Also, the biggest complaint are their drinks. They are pretty small and a refill is a dollar! And remember the cups are tiny.
When did Daglas get so expensive? When did their fries get so greasy? It's definitely not the place I remember pre-COVID. More and more items are getting added to their menu when they used to be a burger/ fry joint. Speaking of their fries, the taste is lacking probably because they're sitting in too much oil. Quality is also not there. Don't order the burger combo at $20.00 when you can get a cheeseburger, a small fry, and a small drink (ordered separately) at half the cost.
This used to be one of our favorite places to get a great flame grilled burger and super french fries. But when we were there the other day the meat was overcooked and a bit hard and not very tasteful - they lost something with the seasoning in their food. Additionally, it's now about 20 bucks for a flat cheeseburger! I don't understand these outrageous prices. I won't be going back anytime soon.
Meh. Ordered pastrami sandwich. There is a lot meat thats for sure. But the bread is tiny, super soft and not crispy. “Meat to bread” factor is not balanced here. I can feel strong mustard aftertaste which is bad The portion is huge tho. But it costs $12 I will try some burgers here next time but for now its not more than 3
Can't afford to eat here anymore. Might as well eat at a diner or restaurant. I understand food prices have gone everywhere but have some compassion for your patrons. They wanted to charge me 2 dollars for a refill on top of the 25 dollar chicken sandwich combo. Good times while they lasted.
The reviews are right, entrance is really weird lol. But it's a cool spot , love the indoor and outdoor option, a real life old school diner with the big windows, you can see them cooking your food :) Tacos are just a staple in LA. Yes this is known for burgers and fries but to have such a bad chicken taco is absurd. $18 for 2 drinks and 2 chicken tacos.
Good bye Daglas , 2 Pastrami sandwich 1 lg onion ring( they were great) $47 for take out. Bread was dry meat over cooked. Pastrami is 50%of the time good this wasn’t one of them. Always a lot of meat but the price , not worth it
I’m must say I was very disappointed with the price of the pastrami sandwich, an absolute ripoff. This place was a valley institution. Now all they care about is making money. They took away the pastrami combo meal as well. This little grease pit isn’t worth it anymore. I’m so done with this place. The owner needs to get a reality check. They will lose tons of customers, watch. There is much better pastrami all over LA, do not buy this overpriced garbage.
Very disappointed this visit. $28 for a pastrami sandwich, fries and a soda. Asked for a refill and was told $1....really after a $18 sandwich. Also pastrami was not good, fatty, cold roll. Not worth that kind of money. Should have driven to The Hat in Simi. Sad, cause the pastrami sandwiches used to be good. But the nail was the $1 for a refill.
I can only say 2 good things about Daglas. The portions are big and the food is fresh. I ordered a chicken burrito and it was so totally deplete of flavor I was astonished. You guys ever hear of recipes? Seasoning? The customer area wasn’t dirty but poorly lacked ambience to the point of depression. The ownership obviously has no pride in this establishment. I don’t mind prices on the high end but I do mind if I have to take your food home and fix it up.
Pretty disappointing. The bun was dry, the meat was dry. Maybe they had an off day but none of it tasted good. They also didn’t put cheese on my cheeseburger and when I told them they just slapped a cold slice of cheese on it. I mean at least melt it. The one positive is the fry portions are massive.
I tried this place for the first time and was totally disappointed. The price is too much, I don't think $85 for 2 burgers, 3 fries, 1 hotdog, 1 steak sandwich and 3 drinks is worth it. I would prefer to pay in a nice restaurant with better and not salty food.
If you don’t care about the quality of food this is the place for you. I ordered the 1/4 pound burger combo with no salt on fries, when I got my food I noticed right away the put slot of salt and that nasty seasoning they use. I asked the guy who gave me my food that I didn’t want salt on my fries, his solution was to put my fries back into the fryer and make them even more burn and greasy than before -you can tell he got bitter by my request- last time I go to this ghetto place. Save yourself a trip to this place not worth it.
Way too expensive doble burger combo$21 meat not that good i had better burgers at better prices shame on d owner
Check your cards!! My boyfriend bought food today and get charged twice! The cashier charged him said it declined then charged the card again after my boyfriend showed him from his phone that the bank app showed he had already been charged the cashier claimed that he wasn't charged and that he still owed money because the second charge still wasn't enought. He asked to speak with the manager and the cashier claimed to be the manager and kept denying that he was charged twice. He came home and we called his bank and he had in fact been charged twice. If the cashier really is a manager he should be fired cuz he can't even manage a transaction and you should definitely watch your money if your spending it here.
After paying $70+ for our food they wanted to charge me $1.50 for ranch. Way over priced for Hamburgers with ketchup. Drive to Toms in North Hollywood for delicious burgers. This place gets away with $20 double cheese burgers because there aren't other burger places around here. Drive to LA you will find delicious and affordable burgers. No wonder my friends that are from the valley never recommend this place.
Food is great! Reason for the 1 star... ordered 4 milkshakes & they were served them in small cups of 12 oz each... it was just 2 weekends ago they were served for the same price in larger cups... now it's ok if costs went up and this is what the price is, however, the worker keeps on telling me that the small 12 oz cup is actually a 16 oz cup... c'mon guys, you can do better. Worst of all as I was getting the cups, the worker was smirking as if, yeah we dupped this guy & his kids. I even walked back & spoke with possibly the manager or owner/operator & he he was giving me the talk that his old cups can no longer be used, which is totally good and fair with law changes, just please don't lie to my face that these small cups are the same size as what you were serving before. I'll make sure to get you a 5 star review for the past amazing burgers (though a bit pricey for a dive) you deserve at least that. Suggestion, for what you charge for milkshakes, please label what size we will be receiving for the $6 and change after tax that we will be paying. Thank you.
Do not get the chili cheese fries cause the cheese they put on it is horrible and not melted right ! Waste of my money and the meat quality is not good at all.
