Best Pho in the valley. Not much of a service. Order, eat and go. But if this is your first date, it's not going to leave a good impression It's more of a street hawked atmosphere.
This place is my favorite place to go to my kids love it they will eat mostly anything from the menu and then if thirsty I buy them a boba. Great everything! The only thing I don't like is if there's almost no poeple they go alitle slow but other than that great everything!
Some of the best pho in the Valley! The broth is delicious and not too sweet oily or Msg tasting. They give you a great ratio of meat and noodles and the service has always been cool every time I've dined in. I'd easily recommend this place for a nice bowl of Pho done right!
This place is delicious and has quick service. Best Pho in the Reseda area I recommend trying it they’ve been around for over 15 years and there’s a good reason for that.
I can't pronounce anything on the menu, but that's ok because it's all numbered. I bought the 59 (gasp! He didn't get pho at the pho place!) Which was good. The plate was a bit spicy but not overpowering. The restaurant was pretty clean, there was no wait, the servers were friendly but assumed we, as white people, wouldn't like the more traditional dishes (wrong assumption). Overall, a great hole in the wall and worth the experience. If in the area, I would definitely go back.
Great place for Pho I always due the brisket with extra brisket. I love how attentive they are.
Definitely one of the best Vietnamese restaurants around. Never been disappointed with their food. Affordable and fast service. You might perceive the waiters as rude but they are just trying to serve your order as fast as possible.
Affordable excellence! Pho So 1 has great prices on the best pho in the Valley. Big tables for big family events, too. If you've never had pho before, try the #14, and you can never go wrong with a side of egg rolls.
Pho is "SO #1" here. I come here every time after i get my haircut at TK Salon, which is right around the corner. Food is good, cheap, and fast. Im in and out in 25 minutes. Definitely a great place, for a busy man like me.
Go-to place every week for nearly 8 years. I've had a lot of Vietnamese cuisine, and this is by far my favorite. Price is low, quality high, staff is relatively indifferent to your presence, but if you're there for the food, who cares?!
Great place to eat at reasonable prices. Also the service is pretty great and fast! Was shocked how fast I got my food. Had a marvelous experience here. Will be coming here again
In my opinion, BEST pho in LA. Please do not expect friendly service from the servers. I think its their culure to be not that friendly. But the Awesome pho can cover all that. One raining day, water was dropping from the ceiling and i had to call the servers several times to order but no cimplain after eating the best pho.... Just that good...
Super authentic neighborhood icon! Clients range from largely Asian to Hispanic, with Caucasian in the minority. Love it (being myself Caucasian!). Oh, and the spring rolls and pho are to die for! RECOMMENDED!
Lots of good choices, food is great, service was wonderful, the atmosphere was home like. I loved it.
They have a sign inside their restaurant that says "Voted Best Pho in The Valley!" This sign is a lie. Because this is not just the best pho in the valley, it is hands down, no hyperbole, on my mama, THE BEST PHO IN ALL OF LA . i have lived all over LA, tried all the chinatown and SGV spots (This destroys pho 87/pho hoa, which are both excellent btw). Again, this is literally the best pho is LA. A close second is Pho 999 who is across the street ran by the same very kind family.
The nicest staff ever! Thank you for being so kind! 💜
A hidden gem! The ambiance at Phở Số 1 is the perfect blend of cozy and stylish. It's an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or a casual get-together with friends. The service was friendly and prompt, ensuring our glasses were never empty. But what truly stood out was the food. Every dish was a masterpiece. The lemongrass chicken was tender and aromatic, and the coconut milk dessert left a sweet memory that lingers. Can't recommend this place enough!
This is one the best Pho spots. Laid back atmosphere with good vibes. Clean restaurant and friendly employees. Great job Pho So 1. Definitely will be visiting this location again.
If you’re looking for a nice place to have a great bowl of Pho, look no further this place has you covered. The broth is very tasty and their choice of meat is good. Spring and egg rolls are very good too.
No nonsense, best Vietnamese Food I’ve had in Los Angeles. Consistent quality, large portions, fair prices and super efficient service. The veggies served with the soup are incredibly fresh as if picked from a garden. Dining in is no frills but you will not regret the delicious experience every time. Take out has been great during the pandemic. When you can go in, they added a really nice tea bar.
Amazing food amazing service. This place is really good! It’s a little hidden but that’s what makes it even better! Not having to wait to be seated is always nice. Walked right in and got sat. Within 5 mins our order was taken. The shrimp pho is my fav. The shrimp is really tasty. No fishy taste. As well the spring rolls are super fresh. Allot of veggies and they come with rice shrimp and steak. Never had them like that before but definitely recommend.
Such a delicious, and delicate balance in a bowl. I got the combo bowl item #1 on the menu, and was more than satisfied. The broth was very good, and the proteins were phenomenal. I highly recommend this place over many others. Cheers
My favorite Pho restaurant. It was one of the first I ever tried, before they started popping up more and more, and still the best. There are many out there now, and while there are some very good ones, this one is still the best. It's very flavorful without being greasy and the egg rolls are unlike any I've ever tried. Simply Delicious.
Love this place. I was so happy to know that they have a location so close to my house. Always good service, friendly staff and not to mention fast food! I always get the Rare steak combo. I prefer Pho So 1 to Pho 999 as I like their broth better. If you don't want to eat inside I recommend calling in ahead of time.
First time eating Vietnamese food. I chose a random plate: Nro. 94, was really delicious. My experience was really nice. I heard about this place by my friend. for sure i’ll come back again!
Really delicious egg rolls here. Some of the best Vietnamese egg rolls I’ve had to this date. Super fresh.
I love it the fast service and fresh food I’m recommend it this place 💯
Delicious, authentic, healthy. The best aspects of this place are that almost all of the customers are Vietnamese, that the kitchen is really fast, and the menu is authentic and focused. You will not find a "please everyone, greatest hits" menu with Chinese food or burgers interspersed, you will find real-deal Vietnamese noodle soup in many forms. Ample free parking in the lots behind and an excellent Vietnamese market next door.
I’m currently on a quest to find the best Bún Bò Huế in LA. Visually, this bowl was beautiful. The broth was solid, the meat was tender, and the pork blood was an excellent, authentic addition. That said, it didn’t quite hit the spicy/sour note I was hoping for. Still, good overall. Now, the bánh mì truly shocked me. The marinated pork was beyond excellent. The smokey flavor along with the amount of meat provided were a pleasant surprise. Honestly might be the tastiest bánh mì I’ve had in LA. Pro tip: eat it fresh. I took part of it to go, and the bread hardened a bit by the time I finished it. The vibes were great and the service was friendly. I’d definitely come back to try their regular pho and I’m absolutely returning for the bánh mì.
dont need to check the menu, every one goes to this restaurant for the item number one large. its their popular dish. actually it s "the best Vietnamese soup in town. i try a new place and i keep coming back. the workers are really nice and attention its 100%, they have lots of workers that if you need anything youll get it within a minute. but the best about this restaurant is the wait, omg! most of the time it s less than a minute on the soup. all the people i bring to this restaurant, keep coming. sometimes i havent seen them in a while and we meet here. my wish list: dont let dogs inside :dress code (like a uniform or neat dress)
Best local pho place right on Reseda and Sherman Way. Pho comes out very quickly, never had to wait longer than 5-10 minutes to get served. Service is quick and nice. Not pricey. Lots of seating. The pho is very fresh and yummy, it never disappoints. The steak I typically get is always fresh and tastes clean and good. I have never gotten sick or felt odd after eating from here, and I would say that is a huge plus and uncommon for some pho places in the area. I also tried take out and it was very good and they didn't skimp out on the serving size!
Ocrober 14, 2024 I've been coming to this place for 24 years (since year 2000). It was introduced by my grand father when I was still in highschool and I still come here regularly. The soup is ofcourse as good as every pho restaurants' as well as the pork eggrolls. It's next to the Bangluck market and A&W restaurant. It's nice to come here during cold weather or winter. Their parking lot can get full because it's kinda small and it can get too busy. 08/18/205 update: I came here and ate the same usual, I noticed that they now sell shaved ice boba and some sandwiches.
If you want delicious pho in a HUGE quantity, then Pho So 1 is the place to go. Im not sure if there's parking behind the store as it's located on a busy street. Every time I've come here, I've been lucky to find street parking (metered). The prices here are great. I like to call them "inflation busters" because they didn't exorbitantly raise them like other restaurants. For that reason, it remains a staple in the valley and a strong competitor to other chains in the area. The broth is delicious and the meat portions are generous. I always come here when I'm craving pho. There's a 3% service charge if you plan to pay by credit card, no minimum, if that's something that you need to know. Haven't dined in the location since I always order takeout but it is always busy during dinner time, which I always attribute to really great quality. (7/50--2024)
Although the exterior is a bit on the "wear n' tear" side....the quality and quantity of the food is worth overlooking the restaurants older appearance. Upon sitting at a table, we were waited on quickly and brought complimentry glass of water. A short few minutes later order was taken...about 10 minutes ago by and we are brought our meals. The food is amazing! The staff wait on you without the constant "everything ok". It doesn't matter if your going in with a party of 2 or a party of 6 Pho So 1 is well worth giving a try for anyone seeking an authentic change to the traditional burger or burrito offered.
The original Pho So 1 in the valley. Renovated to have a Boba spot right inside it, overall the old vibe is still there. Food is great, and as long as you know how to manage the servers, you'll be fine. TV's line the walls, so that was a nice change.
Love the Pho here and really cheap! Customer service on the other hand needs a little bit of help. As for water and he completely forgot and had to ask again. I would recommend it but Beware of the customer service.
Every time I crave for soup. This place ALWAYS hits the spot especially when the weather is cold.. I order their #1 with egg rolls. I even order To-Go when I feel like eating at home
My husbands favorite spot to come chow down on some shrimp rice noodle soup ... pretty much everyone knows us there. The boba is really good good and a fair price.
There's a lot of great food here, but some of it is so-so. Really one of the best, most authentic pho places in the valley. I love the BBQ pork!
Food is great. I usually get the #1 meat combo pho. Meat tastes great, noodles taste great, and the egg rolls are usually our go to too. Service is mediocre. Hard to find help or even a refill of water. Seems like a few, not all, are pretty careless. A deserved 4/5.
It was a Thursday afternoon. I was in the area and was craving pho for lunch since it was cold out. The front of the restaurant looked empty. No one parked in front where the meters were on the street. I decided to try the back alley and there was a large parking lot that was shared with other business. I made my way to the back entrance and the place was busy but they managed to get me a table rather quickly. I placed my order - steak pho. I didn't want anything with fat or gristle so that was to recommenced to me. It was flavorful and had a good amount of ride noodles and sprouts to put in. The price was great, just under $8 for my pho. It hit the spot and service was quick as well. Good spot to hit on a cold day. Great price and easy parking. I’ll be back when I’m in the area.
Egg rolls are awesome most of the time. Always have seating for bigger sized groups. Can be in and out quickly. Great for work lunches with friends.
good vietnamese food and decent priced. Just wish they have more selections. but they stick to what they do best.
Perfect meal on a rainy day. I ordered the special combination soup and hot tea. Food came out promptly and was flavorful. Hot tea complemented the meal perfectly.
Pho So 1 has been around for ages! While it isn't the nicest atmosphere and is clearly rough around the edges in terms of decor and condition, it makes up for it by having good solid food. The pho is of course the most popular dish here. The broth is delicious and clean and regardless of the meat you choose, you will receive fresh and plentiful vegetable toppings and garnish. Prices are very good and service is pleasant.
I do enjoy a good bowl of Pho, well I was working in the area and decided to try out Pho so 1. I believe I tried a beef pho with all the extras and it was good , not to heavy , good thing I had to go back to work . I found out that the consistency of flavors will keep the customers coming back for more, I've been here 3 or 4 times and its been a great lunch spot, and will be back for more to try out other menu goods
Delicious food! But the spoon was a bit dirty because there was dry noodle on it which sorta seemed to stick the napkin and spoon together, but other then that great restaurant im probably coming back. The food for example the pork and rice was a bit chared which made it even better and love the sauce!
Easy go-to for Vietnamese cravings. Takeout service is non existent but it’s all about the food anyway. My pork and shrimp paste with rice was good but a bit too pale for my liking. My daughter enjoyed marinated chicken and orange rice, but I really did not care for it. I’ll stick to pho, egg noodle soup, and bun here.
The pho was very flavorful and delicious! I would definitely order more pho from this place. Customer service was ok. The server who took our order and brought our food doesn’t really talk much or acknowledge you while you’re there. He doesn’t seem happy to work there lol So whatever you need you better tell them while you’re ordering your food, they don’t check on you or bring your check to you. You gotta go to the cashier to pay for your food.
Who doesn't love 😍 a hot 🔥 bowl of soup on a cold ❄ and rainy ☔ day. About 7+ courses of soups. Rolls 🍥, soups, combinations, and more. Easy to get to on the corner of Reseda Blvd and Sherman Way. Metro Bus 🚍 240, 744, 162, 163, LADOT DASH Northridge will get you there. It does need improvement on the restrooms 🚻 🚽
I've been going to this place for years. The quality has been on the decline each year, the soup is so water down you can't hardly taste any beef flavor in the soup. Service is barely ok and the place is pretty worn down. Just a convenient place to grab some pho and a little better than their next door competitor, Pho 999.
Food was really good and for the portion that they give to a bang for your buck. My only concerns are the parking because it's pretty hidden in the back sort of like an alley type so if you plan on eating late night, make sure you park where there's a lighted spot. Another concern is the service is below average. I had to ask for my Thai tea 3x before they finally gave it to me and my friend's dad got a different order. My favorite dish from them is their egg rolls! They are so amazing and tasty and I have never tasted egg rolls like that before. Truly delicious.
Food is ok, tables sometimes smell. I think they use the same rag to wipe down tables including the seats! The food that stays on the table is just smear over and over again, table to table. They need to rewash those rags. Once you are seated they they come back minute later "ready to order?" "No i just sat down."
Pho is ok, but gave veggies to eat with Pho for togo, i called them 3x to complain, they pretended no signal, they can't hear you.
This is my go to Pho spot in the valley. The service is usually fine they take your order and leave you alone which is fine with me! And the food is usually good. But today the service and food really was terrible. They sat us in the corner and we couldn’t get the server’s attention. It took about 10minutes for them to take our order. I had to physically turn around and raise my hand for one of the older works to tell the server to get our order. The food came out very fast like always, which is a plus. But today the food was not good at all. We got the pho with rare steak and brisket and the brisket had this strange greenish color too it, and was quite off putting. It was very disappointing because we were looking forward to having a good meal but it was very off putting and kind of ruined the meal… might be time to find a new pho spot for us. Which sucks because we would come here all the time.
Great food, takes too long for waiter to bring you or offer you refill, but if u don’t mind standing up and asking from your table to have them bring you a refill, u should be good!
It used to be good for me. I'm sure it's good for everyone else. I haven't gone here since my wife found hair in her pho. I went there again and (who would've guessed) there's another hair in my wife's pho. This time around, we mentioned it to the guy who was rushing to place orders. It's a shame since it was my go to pho shop.
I think they should greet their customers way better. I ordered on the phone and the man didn’t take my name or tell me when it be done, he just clicked afterwards . When I picked up the food te employee their gave me attitude. As for The soup I ordered , it was not as good as I expected.
The food was good but the service was not the best. The guy who served us just threw our menus on the table. We weren't greeted at the door and we had to ask them twice to bring extra toppings after they took a long time. They weren't very friendly and the guy at the front was not being very helpful with his attitude. I don't think I will go back.
Don't know if the guy was having a bad day but our server was horrible. He had a scowl on his face like no other. They sat me and my friend with another family and apparently forgot to give us water and utensils (how do you expect me to eat?). When the food came out it was mediocre at best. All in all, save yourself the time and disappointment by going to the Pho 999 spot next door.
Finally gave this spot a try, odered pho with rare meat, the meat was room temp and the broth was lukewarm. I had to microwave my soup as soon as I made it ready to eat, which took about 3 minutes from the store to my table. They have a nice boba joint next door, but if I want the REAL best noodle soup in town I'll stick with Pho 999.
Taste Really good like always, but im on stop visiting this place, i don't but the waiters arw kind of racist these days or they having a bad day, but they throw everything that i ask for when im in, i dont know why, if is the culture i don't think so i hve been in a lot of Pho or Viet Restaurant and they are nice. I stop tipping a lot, since i notice that, and not im not visiting this place anymore.
We had Pho when we came here, I got the thin sliced beef pho with tripe, but the beef was very chewy, I think because it was cut too thick and it was over cooked, the noodles were too soft it just kind of stuck together and mushy. The soup taste like it was one of those fast powder type. I am Vietnamese so I know the difference from a good beef broth that has been cook for hours versus can broth, or powder. It Just doesn’t taste authentic. Plus the girl who works the cash register and or seating, she was just very nonchalant and acted like she doesn’t hear us or see us. I did like the Thai Tea though and taro smoothie.
Good food and fast service , looks kind of dirty sometimes , their floors and bathrooms . Giving it a two because of terrible customer service . Staff doesn’t greet you , doesn’t smile , they throw their menus at your table and yank the Money from your hand when you go pay . They get tons of customers and are usually full , it seems Like they don’t care about making the individual customers feel welcome. Go to pho 999 a few doors down for a better dining experience .
We came with the big group. When they brought out Phở but didn't bring the vegetables (beansprout, lemons, basil...) on the side for us even though they have a lot of young servers at that time. We have to ask several times, then by the time we had those veggies on the table, our Phở already got cold. I ordered the strawberries smoothie but tasted so sour, I told the guy (I think he's the owner), but he just looked at me and the drink then walked away without saying or accommodating anything. Also, I ordered the Eggrolls, but they gave my order to someone else instead of me. What a terrible service I have never seen 🙄
Twice I have ordered togo and it was wrong. I keep trying to order the beef stew noodle and they keep giving me the rare steak pho. I don't understand! I tried to give this place another try but I'll never go hear again
Food is decent but the lady at the cashier always looks upset and is rude and always tosses the menus.
Food is decent but service is abysmal. It seemed like the waiter barely wanted to take my order and they never brought me my coke. It just felt like everyone working here had a horrible attitude.
Horrible customer service, i went to pick up my order at the front counter and got snapped at by the waiter that I was in the wrong area and that pick up was somewhere else, then on my way out of the restaurant, carrying the box of food, the bus boy was blocking the walkway and refused to move, i almost tripped on the kids running around the store. It was not only rude but also a major safety hazard as if I would've tripped and then boiling hot soup could potentially splash all over the kids. There are many other pho places with better customer service, I will not be returning.
My family and I have been a logal customers at Pho So 1 Reseda for over 20 years but today they lost us as their customers. We never expected great service here but tonight my daughter was being body shamed by 3 low class waiters working at this restaurant. She came to have dinner with us many times and the peoples work at this restaurant know us. They talked and laughed at her as she walked toward her table without any worry that she could understand what they said. Yes stupid waiters, we are Vietnamese and can hear and understand what you said perfectly. Their behaviors are gross and totally unacceptable👎 We will NEVER come back to Pho So 1 Reseda and will also let our friends know to stay away as well. ***Notes to the owner...you should look at the video to find out which of your employees trash talked about your customers and fire those waiters or you will continue losing more your loyal customers 😠
I ordered food to go…. a lot of items inside was missing… i really enjoyed this place before, but now they are super greedy.. they don’t put vegetables enough… very little… like for small kitty not for human … so disappointed… and i always tip them, don’t know why
I had been coming here at least 2 times a week for the last 6 years, well today I came in with my mother and sister, they sat us down but completely forgot about us, I waited for 15 minutes for someone to notice us but when a new table right on front of us was sat and immediately were given menus and water I completely felt like I should get up and walk out, which I did, never will I come here again, my new spot wi be the PHO 999 just next door. So many people working as waiters and all failed to notice 3 people sitting looking to be taken care of.... sad.
We ordered pho to go and the broth was cold. The worst experience ever! Why would they give us cold pho? What’s the whole point of ordering takeout? So disappointed with their service and food.
I love Vietnamese food, but this place is gross. The restaurant itself is rundown and grubby. Which I could forgive if the food was descent. The peanut sauce was disgusting, it was oily and did not have a hint of the spicy peanut flavor you’d expect. I ordered charcoal grilled pork with vermicelli and vegetable. The meat, I’m not sure what kind of meat it was, but it was bright red and had a metallic taste. It was also almost raw literally. The lettuce was brown and wilted. Truly terrible. The one positive, it was fast. It was pricey and really bad, please don’t eat here.
This review is for the sandwich I had the soup a few weeks ago and it was good so this time I ordered the beef sandwich from the Boba area. The quality of the beef was horrible nothing that resemble the meat in the pho. Small disgusting sandwich.
One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to in 20+ years in the SFV. Horrible service from the hosts, cooks, and servers. No eye contact, no responses, no checking. Lady at the table next to us asked 3 different people for a small bowl, all 3 ignored her and didn't even tell her who to ask. Shrimp in my girlfriends Pho had poop in every single one, she had to take it out herself before eating, and she still ended up throwing up for the next two days. Honest to god the worst Pho restaurant in the valley, do not eat here ever.
My wife, my son and me, all got sick after we ate here, I tried the number 1, pho with different kinds of meet, my wife and son number 53, shrimp soup with egg noodles, after an hour all of us started to feel bad… I don’t recommend it, why is it so hard to find a place where ypu could eat this kind of food safely? And their attitude was rude and uninterested, we had to wait forever for our drinks and one of them never came…
Got the Pho (number 1 in the menu), all I can say, I regret coming here, I should've just ate McDonald's. The broth and noodles were ok, the rest was absurd. I think the meat is shredded old tires, I tried eating it and no luck. I tried eating the shredded white meat(stomach) at the end but I think it was rotten almost puked at the table. There's no next time.
I was there today and ordered a chicken pho soup with spring rolls, I was abolished when I saw an individual who always wears a black glove clean a table, take cash payment and then proceeded to prepare my spring rolls without removing and washing his hands beforehand. I am disgusted and will never eat at that location ever. I just hope I don't get sick!!!
One of the employees was eating with kitchen gloves on. While he was eating with gloves on he was blowing his nose, picked up some trash from the floor. As he finished eating he got up and went straight to the kitchen with same gloves on, he grabbed the noodles & put it on the bowl and started preparing a noodles soup for a customer. 🤢 never again coming here!!
This place sucks... Don't go to this restaurant. The staff are so rude. I was there with my friend and they kept looking at us when coming in... No "hello welcome". Nothing but a look that seems like we were vandals or something... Then we sat a table... a lady comes in with 2 cups of water; She sets on our table... I say "Thank you" loud enough she can hear... She turns around and ignores me. I don't mean to be picky but they should treat their customers well. When there are NO manners. I don't need your food even if their food is ok. NEVER COMING BACK. Good Bye!
