We haven’t been here for a while but glad we came back for the restaurant week, the $55 fixed menu has a large selection of entrees, appetizers and three food deserts. Even the complimentary bread and fish flavored butter are deliciously. The NY stripe, special tuna were excellent and the chocolate bomb was always nice as we remembered. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the white table clothes and cotton napkins add a bit touch of special warmth.
One of the best overall meals we have had in a long time. Excellent service. The restaurant week three course menu is a great deal for $55. Our toddler loved the fresh fish with vegetables. Our server was very attentive and quick. Relaxing ambience, perfectly made cocktail, hot food, what more could you ask for. We will definitely be going back for our next special occasion my husband and I first went here on a date five years ago, and it was just as good last night as it was then.
This is my second time at Passion Fish. The ambiance is spectacular, as is the food quality, flavor and presentation. First, the beet salad is small, but mighty. It's complex blend of savory, sweet and crunchy and smooth. It was nothing short of phenomenal. I also tried the Artic Char. It's an unassuming dish that doesn't disappoint. Not many restaurants prepare it, and Passion Fish has it mastered. I also enjoyed a side of mushrooms and sweet potato fries. This is the first time I enjoyed fries and found no added value using ketchup. Chances are you will be pleased no matter what you order.
The Restaurant Week deal was great. Ceviche, a lobster tail, roasted cauliflower, and key lime pie for $55 is pretty good value, and the food was delicious. The service was excellent too.
We celebrated my mom’s birthday yesterday, and it was truly an unforgettable evening! We were warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant from the very beginning. A special thanks to our wonderful waitress Nora — she was incredibly kind, attentive, and positive. Thanks to her, my mom felt truly special — and that made her so happy! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. I also want to highlight the restaurant’s interior: stylish, modern, very clean, and well-kept. Thank you so much for the hospitality and the amazing experience! We’ll definitely be coming back — this place has become one of our favorites.
First time experiencing the sea food tower and the selection did not disappoint. We visited during the brunch hours and the atmosphere was warm, quiet, and upscale. Additionally, the service was excellent and would highly recommend patrons of this establishment to indulge in both the seafood options as well as the sushi!
A bit of an old-school interior, with an atmosphere that feels perfect for business lunches - and judging by the crowd, that’s exactly what it’s used for. But the food! Absolutely delicious. The sushi is excellent (the salmon quality is top-notch), the mariscos ceviche is exactly how it should be, and my personal favorite - the boiled oysters - are among the best I’ve ever had
Passion Fish Restaurant: A Detailed Review for Reston Town Center Passion Fish in Reston Town Center has established itself as a prominent seafood destination, and for good reason. My recent visit allowed me to delve into several key aspects of their menu, focusing specifically on their sushi, appetizers, oysters, and the highly anticipated NY Strip Steak. Here's a detailed breakdown of my experience: Ambiance and Service: Before diving into the food, it's worth noting the restaurant's atmosphere. Passion Fish boasts an airy, bi-level space with a sophisticated yet comfortable vibe. The decor hints at its seafood focus without being overly thematic. The service throughout the evening was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. Sushi: A Highlight Passion Fish truly shines when it comes to its sushi. The dedicated sushi bar is a testament to their commitment to this art form. * Freshness and Quality: The fish was exceptionally fresh, with vibrant colors and a clean taste. You could tell that they source high-quality ingredients. * Creativity and Presentation: The sushi rolls we sampled were both beautiful and creative. They offered a good mix of classic rolls and more innovative combinations. The presentation was meticulous, showcasing the chef's attention to detail. * Variety: The menu offered a diverse selection of nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls, catering to various palates. From traditional tuna and salmon to more adventurous options, there was something for everyone. * Overall Impression: The sushi at Passion Fish is undoubtedly a standout. It's clear that they prioritize quality and artistry, making it a must-try for any sushi lover visiting Reston Town Center. Appetizers: Promising Beginnings The appetizer selection at Passion Fish offered a tempting array of options beyond just seafood. * Variety and Flavor Profiles: We sampled a couple of appetizers, and both were well-executed. They showcased a range of flavors and textures, from light and refreshing to richer and more indulgent. * Presentation: Similar to the sushi, the appetizers were thoughtfully presented, adding to the overall dining experience. * Standouts (Based on general reviews): While I didn't personally try it, the "baked cheese" appetizer (described in some online reviews as a tomato and cheese sauce for dipping bread) seems to be a popular and highly recommended choice. The fries also receive positive mentions. Oysters: A Fresh Catch For oyster aficionados, Passion Fish offers a raw bar that appears to be a significant draw. * Freshness and Selection: While I didn't indulge in the oysters on this particular visit, the raw bar looked impressive, suggesting a commitment to fresh, seasonal selections. * Presentation: The oysters on display were well-presented, nestled on ice, indicating proper handling and care. * General Reputation: Reviews often highlight the freshness and quality of their raw bar offerings, including the oysters. Value: Passion Fish leans towards the higher end in terms of pricing, which is expected for a restaurant of this caliber in Reston Town Center. The quality of the ingredients, the skillful preparation, and the overall dining experience justify the cost for a special occasion or a treat. Conclusion: Passion Fish in Reston Town Center delivers a consistently high-quality dining experience, particularly excelling in its sushi and likely its oysters. The appetizers offer a good variety and are well-executed. While the NY Strip Steak is a respectable option, the restaurant's strength undeniably lies in its fresh and creative seafood offerings. If you're looking for a sophisticated seafood meal with excellent sushi in Reston Town Center, Passion Fish is definitely worth a visit.
This was my first time ordering takeout from PassionFish at Reston Town Center, and the experience was outstanding—largely thanks to the Manager on Duty, Damien. I was trying to use the inKind app to pay and earn bonus points, but I wasn’t familiar with the process. Damien went above and beyond: he took the time to personally walk me through everything step by step, brought me aside so I wouldn’t feel rushed, and even handled parts of the process for me to make sure it went through smoothly. That level of patience and customer care is rare and truly appreciated. Excellent service like this makes a lasting impression, and it’s exactly why we’ll be coming back again soon. Thank you, Damien, for making our first experience at PassionFish Reston Town Center such a positive one!
Had brunch here today- excellent service (Shelby was our server) and food was delicious. The brunch menu had so many options, for such a great price. Nice having live jazz music during our meal. Would recommend 100%!
PassionFish is well worth the drive! My SO and I dined here for the first time last night based on a recommendation and we were beyond pleased with every aspect of the establishment. We had reservations so there was no wait for a table. The atmosphere is classy, yet still cozy, with a pretty cool oceanic aesthetic. The entire staff was very polite from the hostess, to our server Giana and the food runners. We even received a table visit from Chris, the very personable Executive Chef and Owner. Now the food...simply outstanding! You can taste the freshness and quality in every single dish. We started with a couple of cocktails and the crab and shrimp spring rolls and all I can say is "WOW!" Just get em! For dinner we had the Bronzino and peanut crusted halibut and the only downside was that it had to come to an end. Both dishes were very flavorful and featured very well selected cuts. We ate every bite which had the unfortunate effect of us not saving room for dessert, but rest assured that when we visit for round 2 - we will be having dessert first!
I absolutely love it here. My partner and I went for our anniversary and although the food and drinks were good, the service and atmosphere were what really earned it 5 stars. Everyone told us happy anni, and was so attentive and kind to us. We ordered the tuna tartar, crawfish etouffee, the passion fish roll, and a few drinks. We were also given dessert to celebrate our special day. We genuinely enjoyed everything and will definitely be coming back.
All the food was really good, but I was somewhat disappointed in the small…almost non-existent tempura shrimp selected For a rather expensive sushi roll….. Could’ve been a a fantastic sushi roll if a little more care was taken. Gotta make it like your making it for yourself…
If you are in the Reston area this is worth the stop. Took part in the jazz brunch and sampled the menu with a few friends one of which was vegan and there were options. Everything was flavorful and danced across the palette. The accompanying jazz duo only enhanced the atmosphere. Kudos to the waitstaff and bartender as well. This was a hit.
Staying in Reston did a quick search for fish and this place popped up. It was two tents from the hotel so it was short walking distance. It was really nice place. I was surprised for Monday night. It was pretty much dead. They did have a happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30, which we were in under the window, but unfortunately, it was exposed to sitting at the bar area and the bar and the few tables I had in that area we’re completely full so no worries. We just sat in the dining room and we had an amazing dinner. Amazing ambience. The service was a little slow to get started. We probably sat there for close to 10 minutes. Waiting to just get hello from the wait waiting staff, and there were only three other tables in the dining area at the time we were seated, but once we got rolling, everything went pretty well and presentation was amazing. Food was really good not stellar but really good what we had drinks were good. I would definitely recommend it. I would definitely would come back personally by myself as well.
Visited on a Sunday and ended up choosing from their prix fixe brunch menu. Was surprised by the value. The prix fixe menu includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and discounted cocktails—an excellent deal. For our table of two, both appetizers were impressive. The standout was the ceviche—unexpectedly delicious, fresh, and possibly made with calamari. It had a unique and refreshing flavor. For entrées, I had the snapper, which was so yum, full of flavor. The omelette, on the other hand, was just average—nothing special. Desserts were meh. Neither the chocolate bomb nor the beignets stood out; Cocktails were decent. Still, the overall experience was lovely. Would want to go back for dinner one of these days. Oh, they had live music too. :)
Food was great. Service was attentive. Had the restaurant week special which included appetizer, main course, and dessert. Crusted halibut was yummy. Nice atmosphere. We could carry on a conversation. Bar looked fun, although we did not visit.
I used to enjoy their Bethesda location until it closed. It was a solid place. Came here with friends after a fiasco at another restaurant. Love the decor and layout. Fresh fish on display adds to the ambience. We all went light on the food. Char broiled oysters, gumbo, and calamari. All were so so. Gumbo lacked salt and any strong flavor. My friend who cooks said the rue wasn't right. Comments about the calamari were mmmm ok. Likewise for the oysters, bit they were pretty. I think everything needed more seasoning.
Nice ambiance! Looks better inside than what you see from outside. We went there for brunch today around 1pm since we woke up so late and it’s just a block away from our place. The restaurant wasn’t busy and the hostess was nice enough to put us by the window. We went with green salad and crepe for the appetizers. Added in a half-dozen oysters for appetizers as well. The salad was fresh. The crepe was ok. The oysters were decent when comparing with other places in nova. We got etouffee and egg Benedict as our entree. The etouffee is way wrong. It’s gumbo disguised as “etouffee”… I lived in Louisiana for five years… I know what’s etouffee… The beignets were ok. They should have listed as mini-beignets in the menu… The service was… well not bad but also not good… I don’t want to complain since people have to make a living and i understand they have a tougher live.. They can choose who they prefer to serve and what not… (why we say this? Our assigned server switched another server over after we ordered the drinks).. anyhow, also check your bill before paying… a half-dozen oysters during Sunday brunch is listed as $15, but it showed up in our bill at $22 (full-price from regular menu)… probably won’t be back… there are several other places in RTC we can walk to…
It was our first time dining at Passionfish and it was very disappointing. Overpriced and the side dishes were terrible. My wife had the puree potatoes and I had a mac & cheese. My mac & cheese was the worst I ever tasted at a restaurant, the breading on top was very gritty and the macaroni dry. My wife's potato puree was bland. The main dishes were OK but my wife did not finish her crab cakes as they weren't tasty. The service was good and speedy but didn't tell our waiter how bad the food was as we don't trust giving any criticism while still dining. We left with unfinished plates and had dessert elsewhere in RTC.
