Really great burger restaurant located in the Hyatt Hotel. They serve flavored pickles for the table instead of bread which is a nice touch. Smoked gouda fries are amazing. Peppers were good and it was a large appetizer with plenty for a table. Chicken sandwich was okay, a little on the thin side so some parts were more crunchy than actual chicken. Atmosphere is nice but the staff sat us next to another occupied table, actually three tables in a row were all seated right next to each other, which I thought was weird since there was plenty of room elsewhere. Right behind us was an entire row of empty tables, so being unnecessarily crowded together was a little odd. The service was fantastic and overall it was a pleasant experience.
Capital Burger is an outstanding spot that delivers on every level—food, atmosphere, and service. I especially love their vegetarian burger, which is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced in flavor and texture, it’s a dish I keep coming back for. Their fresh lemonade pairs beautifully with it, making the meal even more enjoyable. Another detail that sets them apart is their complimentary pickles—absolutely delicious and a small touch that makes a big difference. The warm atmosphere and attentive staff make each visit a pleasure. Capital Burger has become one of my go-to places, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
10/10 I love this place. Made my birthday feel so special. Hugh and Abiy are the BEST. Service is quick and amazing. Food is lovely. If I could give 100 stars I would.
We had a great experience at The Capital Burger in Reston Town Center. Veronica was our server and she was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. We ordered the blue cheese & black truffle mushroom burger, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend both the food and the service!
★★★★★ | A Delicious Gem in the Heart of Reston What a pleasant surprise! Our visit to The Capital Burger in Reston turned into one of those unexpectedly great days — the kind you wish you could bottle up. From the moment we walked in, the service was on point. Shoutout to Veronica, our waitress — she was kind, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs. That kind of hospitality is rare these days, and it really elevated the whole experience. Now let’s talk food: the burger was absolutely delicious, juicy and cooked to perfection. But what blew us away? The veggie burger — hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. Rich in flavor, well-balanced, and satisfying in a way most veggie options aren’t. Even the kids were impressed, and that’s saying something. The atmosphere was classy yet welcoming — perfect for families, friends, or even a casual date. And the best part? The location. After lunch, we didn’t just head home — we stuck around. The area is packed with fun: there’s space for kids to run around, play soccer, even splash in the pool if you’re staying nearby. You can really make a whole afternoon of it. This wasn’t just a meal, it was a mini getaway. We’ll definitely be back.
Capital Burger inside the Hyatt was wonderful! I was tempted by the salmon salad, but thought, Im at a burger place -- and they offered gluten free buns. So, I went with the classic burger. The burger was so tasty! The bun was soft and didn't fall apart like some gf buns. THE PICKLES! If you like pickles, the house pickles are amazing. They were the second reason I went with the classic burger. I enjoyed a side salad, but my CEO who is also gf, said her sweet potato fries were fried separate - so no cross contamination - and she noted that meant they were fried in beef tallow. For those of you who love beef tallow, it could be a reason to try capital burger. Our drinks were excellent too - and so was our service. All-in-all, it was a great meal!
Loved it. Awesome food, good atmosphere, and great service. Great spot for high end Burgers! I gladly accepted the pickles to start, which were delicious! I had the capital burger. It was perfectly meaty and cheese and oh so delicious! It was paired with the truffle fries which were also delicious! I also had the smoked bacon old fashioned. The bacon was awesome! The old fashioned was great too. Over all, highly recommend.
I just had a wonderful late night dining experience at The Capital Burger. I am staying at the hotel, and it was very conveniently located, plus they are open late. The atmosphere was relatively chill, and the restaurant itself was not particularly full, although the bar area was hopping. The space was well lighted and immaculately clean. My server, Ariana, was absolutely lovely, and her service was attentive and friendly. She made sure that my water glass was full and that I had refills on my Diet Coke. You can tell that she takes pride in her work, that she is a "people person," and that she enjoys her job. The manager stopped by my table a couple of times to check in, and he was friendly, professional and conversational. I was very happy with my order, which was a bacon cheeseburger with a side of brussels sprouts (in lieu of fries) and a Belgium chocolate mousse for dessert. The burger was cooked perfectly, and the quality of the meat as well as the accoutrements was high. Everything was delicious, fresh, nicely presented. I enjoyed the experience thoroughly, and I will certainly be back.
Our food was delicious. We both had burgers cooked perfectly and super juicy. My husband loved the pickles. If we're ever on that side of town again, we're definitely coming back.
Best burger ever! I ordered blue cheese burger with truffle fries and it really really good, staff are super friendly Lisa and Hugh are amazing definitely I will come here every time I’m in Washington ❤️❤️
Great tasting burgers. Fixed to perfection and served the way you order them. I knocked the rating down one notch since I feel that that the one I got was not a full 8 ounces. And for the price of $22 each, it should have been. Lots of drinks to choose from as well. And some great tasting appetizers; the pretzel and cheese sauce was outstanding. Also you need to try their special types of French Fries.
The burger I got was delicious, well cooked, and the bacon was even better. The dessert was very rich as well.
One of, if not the best burger I’ve ever had! Friendly and quick service. Not the biggest menu, but most people will find something to enjoy. Everything we ordered was delicious. And they cook the burgers to a real medium, super juicy. Most restaurants will only cook med/well. Highly recommended. Not super pricey either. Don’t validate parking.
So I discovered Capital Burger in DC and was floored by both the food and the service. Fingers crossed that I would see the same at the VA location. First off, huge shout out to Kyle who took excellent care of me while I was dining. He was engaging, polite, and professional. The food???? There are no words, it was amazing, outstanding, heavenly!! Everything was perfect, from the pickles to the burger, which was cooked to perfection, to my drink. I was so full, but Kyle talked me in to a salted caramel milkshake. I'm so glad he did, holy cow it was off the charts delicious, lip smacking goodness, liquid gold. When you walk in, the bar is off to the right and dining is off to the left. The bar was very busy when I went, and while you could hear the activity, it wasn't overly loud. There's also a nice outdoor patio. Stop in if you're in the area, ask to be seated in Kyle's section. He'll make sure you have everything you need.
As soon as we were seated, the homemade pickles were placed on our table and disappeared before we placed our order they were soooo good. We tried the calamari was good, a bit oily but still good. The capital burger was outstanding. So unique and juicy and flavorful. The gouda fries were the perfect addition to this yummy meal. The service was top notch too, Kyle was attentive and super nice. The whole experience was wonderful.
First Time here at this burger "joint" and I am impressed with the upscale feel of this restaurant! Their Gouda Cheese Fries were awesome and their Capital Burger was even better! Their gluten free options are also awesome and convenient for those folks that have complications with gluten. I am very pleased with how we were treated and served at this place so we're definitely coming back.
Home of the $22 burger. Is it worth the price of three Quarter Pounders w/ cheese? The burgers taste like a mix of ground chuck and short rib, which is absolutely a winning recipe. I usually opt for the wild mushroom and Swiss burger. My friends generally get the bleu cheese and truffle burger. The place is a pretty regular haunt for our boy's night out. We get a table at the opposite end away from the more noisy bar area. We've sampled a number of their appetizers. None have disappointed. The service is on point. For us, the burger is well worth it (and the fries!). Throw in the great service and atmosphere and it's a winning night out.
The burgers and drinks are delicious, and the staff is quite friendly and provides excellent recommendations on what to order. I’m definitely going back again! They open until 1 am 🫶🏼
Oh man, what an awesome place to grab a burger, a drink and much more. Great decor and customer service. Price is high moderate but you get the VIP treatment all the time. Good for the whole family. I strongly suggest. 👍🏻
Great. The crispy chicken burger was good, but the blue cheese burger was even better. Best of all, the fried calamari. 👌😋 The review was updated with lunch pix from a later visit.
Great place to enjoy a more upscale burger plus experience. Lots of entrees and main plate options. Drinks are 👍 try the spiked shake ... Bad for you in a good way !
FANTASTIC experience! Great service and amazing food. We stayed at the hotel twice in different occasions and this is hands down a great place. Ordered the chicken sandwich and it was phenomenal and the Brussels sprouts are the best OMG, they are good will definitely recommend this place. The espresso martini was just not my favorite unfortunately since I love everything else but I’ll have to give them 5 stars because everything else deserves it. Thank you very much!
Excellent restaurant, well worth the visit. Very nice ambience, friendly staff and a varied menu. The sprouts as a side were awesome. Food was excellent, well portioned and great overall.
Choosing The Capital Burger for a business luncheon was the right choice. It was the first visit for both myself and my guest. Shortly after the hostess seated us at our table, we were greeted by our server, Danielle, who was thoroughly delightful and professional. She answered our questions regarding recipes, ingredients, and cooking methods. She also cleared the table between courses and efficiently handled the payment. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere contributed to a mutual exchange of valuable information flowing both ways between me and my guest. All food ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Especially unique were the complimentary, exceptionally flavorful, large gherkin pickle slices as an appetizer. My burger arrived cooked to order, juicy, served on a sesame hamburger roll with leaf lettuce, tomato slice, and onion slice. My lunch companion savored the taste of his Southern-Style Fried Chicken Sandwich. Both of our entrees came with remarkably delicious fresh-cut fries seasoned with sea salt. Plating presentation was artfully done. I enjoyed a perfectly balanced lemonade with just a hint of mint and sweetness. The furnishings, tables, and chairs have substantial weight, and earth tones are throughout the interior architecture, with subdued lighting and a quiet atmosphere favorable for conversation. Tableware is hefty (glasses, dishes, flatware, and linen napkins), characteristic of steak houses. Upon leaving the restaurant, my guest suggested we meet at TCB for our next meeting in a month or so.
Delicious bacon cheeseburger and added fried egg with side of salad. Has a more upscale atmosphere than a normal burger joint. Price is more in the above average cost. Service was quick and server was quite pleasant. Connected to the Hyatt and conveniently located next to the shopping and dining area. Clean restroom is located in the hotel hallway near the restaurant. Had free parking during the weekend night of at the surrounding garage buildings.
Stopped here on a whim while passing through because I love burgers. Absolutely worth it. The Capital Burger is delicious. The service was great. Very friendly and checked on us often. Would definitely come back if I’m in the area to try the other burgers.
Great experience this afternoon - I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with Parmesan truffle fries and it was amazing! Fresh, hot perfectly tasty fries and the burger was delicious too, spot on medium rare. It was a quiet time of the day which in some restaurants can mean poor, distracted service, but the service here was fantastic. Taneen was my server, really welcoming and attentive, she took my order and checked back several times.. all in all a great meal, I’ll be back!
We came here for a dinner and meeting as a large party. Firstly, they were great over the phone, accommodating our large party and allowing us a semi private area to conduct our meeting. Our service was phenomenal. I was greeted warmly by the host, and every employee we interacted with was friendly and professional. In particular, our server Kyle and his trainee, Raven, were excellent. You could tell Kyle had a passion for the food, doing a wonderful job explaining the menu and making recommendations. He also was a me to handle special requests asked of the party. He and Raven did a great job balancing being hands on enough to make sure we were taken care of without being overbearing either. They made the whole experience pleasant. The food was also great. Favorites were the tuna nachos (so darn good) and the pretzel with cheese. The burgers were all cooked to order properly, and the proprietary beef blend is amazing. Overall this was a great experience. I can't recommend enough, especially if you have a larger party or work function. Ask for Kyle and Raven!
Very nice ambiance and perfect seating arrangements. The wait staff is high class caliber. The burgers are out of this world tasty! Flavor is so unique!
OMG this restaurant renewed my faith that we can get good veggie burgers in America. Their burger has mushrooms as one of the main ingredients and I'm not a big fan of mushrooms. But oh boy was the veggie burger super fresh and amazing. Most of the restaurants take the easy path and serve beyond or impossible burgers but not this place. Absolutely loved it. Thank you.
Dined last night as first time guests. Decided to leave this review because our server, Matthew, was terrific! He is reason enough to return. The rest of our service to include the manager "touching the table" was good, too. Food came out fast and hot and drinks were quickly replenished. Okay, we knew that burgers would cost around $30. When you compare our meals and overall experience against "regular" burger places, there's no comparison. Dine here.
The Capital Burger at Reston Town Center offers gourmet, juicy burgers and a comfortable atmosphere with a large bar and multiple seating options. It provides a steakhouse-like burger experience, with an extensive wine list and a variety of cocktails. We visited for breakfast, and their breakfast burger was excellent—juicy and satisfying. The pancake was simple yet delicious, topped with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and plenty of blueberries. The applewood-smoked bacon and egg on a brioche burger were okay. However, the coffee was disappointing: the cappuccino was too acidic, and the café latte was more like a café au lait with lots of milk. Service was adequate, but the upscale ambiance felt outdated and in need of upgrades.
For a hotel restaurant, it was good and decently priced for the area. 23$ for a burger is expensive, but it is a hotel in Reston, so kind of expected. Burger was very good. The cheese fries were alright. Probably wouldn't get them again. Wine by the glass was between 11$ and 15$ for most of them. Overall, if you are staying at the hotel and have no real desire to go out after a long day of travel, it is certainly worth a try. I wouldn't particularly go out of my way though to eat here.
Ribeye burger was top notch. Cooked medium to perfection. The burger was a 8/10 pretty good as well. Calamari had way too many jalapeños and peppers. It overwhelmed the Calamari which was actually good.
This place used to be great but sadly the service has gone downhill the last few times we visited. They are not really attending to customer -you don’t get noticed to be seated and once seated you have to fight for the servers’ attention. Used to be a regular but re-considering **Original review** Definitely recommend this place for burgers! Burgers are 🔥 and some of the best you’ll find. Blue cheese truffle burger is the best. amazing service with very attentive and friendly servers, including Keith and Perry who took care of our table. Have tried the mushroom/Swiss burger, blue cheese truffle, and the capital burger; all were great but the blue cheese was my favorite. The kitchen was very fast few times I visited in the afternoon/noon. Outside burgers, tried the fried chicken sandwich which was unfortunately not good at all, and very dry.
Food was impeccable. Treated my husband for his birthday since he loves burgers. Ambiance was also great. We’re quiet folks and we found the waiter to be too talkative. He was singing and talking too much about his life. I had a question about the menu and he cuts me off to tell his joke or about his life, I don’t know. I also asked if the calamari was spicy cause I’m pregnant and I’m trying not to eat too much spice. He said it’s very spicy. I ordered it and it’s not so spicy. I overheard him tell another table it’s not so spicy after telling me it’s super spicy. Overall I had a great time with my husband and amazing food.
We stopped in here on our way to make a flight out of Dulles airport. Overall, we had a very nice experience. The stand out was the Capital burger with caramelized onions. It was absolutely delicious. The cheeseburger was good, but paled in comparison to the Capital burger. Prices were pretty reasonable for the location and quality of the food. The restaurant is well used and could use a good deep cleaning and freshening. Our service was excellent. Parking is free in the local garage after 5 PM. You pay for parking on the street and the restaurant does not validate.
The burger was amazing, hands down cooked as ordered and tons of flavor. The lobster roll was also excellent. A little pricey but good. Food server great but once finished they want you outa that table.
This burger did not come to play. It came to win. The Capital Burger shows up like it has quarterly targets and intends to beat them. Perfectly cooked patty, cheese melted like it attended a leadership offsite, and caramelized onions doing the heavy strategic lift—sweet, patient, and clearly the smartest thing on the plate. Now let’s talk fries, because honestly, they stole the meeting. Parmesan + truffle oil is a dangerous combo. These fries walk in quietly and then take over the room. Aromatic, bold, and completely shameless. The truffle oil announces itself before you even look down, and the Parmesan backs it up with credibility. This is the “awe factor.” Mic drop. No follow-up questions. Iced tea did exactly what iced tea is supposed to do: stayed cold, stayed out of the drama, and refreshed the palate like a dependable middle manager. Service was solid—friendly, timely, mostly invisible in a way. One less check-in than perfection, but no escalations required. Ambience? Fine. Functional. You won’t Instagram the walls, but you also won’t be distracted from the real agenda: eating this burger while rethinking your life choices.
Went last week with my work colleague and we both got the bacon cheeseburger. The burgers were very greasy but that’s ok. The burger itself had zero flavor other than the taste of meat. The fries were good. Tasted like they came out an air fryer. Not saying that’s a bad thing they were very crisp which was good. I like the attention to detail with the plate being handled to you with the wording Capital Burger facing you. The server was good. The place was clean but I can’t really recommend this place if you’re looking for a really good burger. Everyone taste buds are different but overall the burger was mediocre.
A solid 3 stars. We got carry out so I can't comment on atmosphere. We ordered cheeseburgers and fries for my family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids under 13). I told my husband to pick a place that had "decent burgers, not fast food burgers." I will say they were cooked very well (as in, medium rare as requested) and were tasty. But the slice of cheese was...pathetic. The fries were cold (burgers and other food wasn't and it wasn't a long drive home). The "kids burgers" were TINY. They were thick, but otherwise the size of a single slider - no more than 2oz; with a handful of fries, and for TEN DOLLARS. I guess in a fancy restaurant a burger would be, and we got carry-out. But damn...$100 for 6 burgers. We also ordered "kids lemonade" which has...mint leaves?? Enough of them to throw off the taste, and I don't know who would assume that's something kids would want. Ultimately, tasty, quality food compared to a counter service burger joint, but extremely overpriced. (Picture 1: tiny kids burger with fruit, similar quantity of fries; fork for scale Picture 2: large, fresh mint leaves on a stem in *kids* lemonade)
It is more a place to go and hang out with your friends. Not sure I’d consider it a date night restaurant. The pickles are served with every meal, and were tasty. The Brussel sprout appetizer was the best thing we ordered, however a bit heavy because the oil and bacon, but delicious. We ordered two different burgers both cooked medium well. This is where the fail occurred. One came out red, blood was on the bun, the other burger was well done. I only ate edges of my medium rare burger, but my waiter didn’t notice how under cooked it was. Getting the temperature correct is crucial and was not achieved on either entree. My truffle fries were not hot, just warm, so maybe they had been sitting. We will not be going back.
The restaurant and its staff are great, but I must say the food left much to be desired. During my first visit, we began with some overly sweet pickles that could have easily passed as dessert. Then came the burgers, and I opted for Brussels sprouts as a healthier side dish, but to my surprise, they were loaded with sugar. Why add sugar to everything? However, I’m grateful that they took it back with no fee when I asked for a replacement side dish (this is why I think service is good). The burger itself was excessively salty, to the point where I couldn't finish it, despite its juiciness and great texture. What was peculiar is that I noticed no one around us was able to finish their burgers either, not sure why. I'd like to mention that I came to the restaurant while feeling quite hungry and had room for three burgers. So, it wasn't an issue of portion size. To be fair, the ambiance and service were excellent. If you don't mind sugar in all your courses, from appetizers to dessert, you'll likely enjoy your experience.
We love The Capital Burger and have been at least three times. I would have given them a 4/5, but our recent experience has left us sorely disappointed. We ordered the Gouda Cheese fries, which were fantastic, hot, fresh, perfectly cheesy... And two burgers. Both burgers were ordered Medium, both were delivered Well Done. One of the burgers was missing the added crispy onions, and had a very small amount of the tomato jam listed as one of three key ingredients of that particular burger. When we were a couple bites into the burgers, our waiter asked how our food was. We showed him how overcooked and dry our burgers were, and he politely apologized, but did not over any solution. When we had a couple bites left but otherwise were clearly done eating, he offered a box, but we again emphasized that the burgers were dry and overcooked, so we didnt intend on finishing them. At that time, the waiter kindly apologized again, and this time offered us a free dessert to go. We accepted the free $5 dessert, but otherwise left sorely disappointed with our two $17 burgers. We don't like to make a scene and bring in a manager, and frankly, for a restaurant as nice and expensive as The Capital Burger, we shouldn't have to. Hopefully this review prompts some positive change, and we will have a better experience next time.
We had good service and a nice waiter but the food is a bit overpriced for the quality. The fried chicken sandwich is a but underwhelming and the cheese with the pretzel is so chunky you can’t really dip it easily. The fries were extra hot which was good! Overall, it was a decent lunch but the place could really use an update. The knives on our table were so scratched off they looked so old and used and the wood table was pretty chipped too. The little things should still matter.
The server was very kind and good but I was a little disappointed with burger. This store name is capital burger but the burger was not particular, lack of flavors. I ordered the roasted wild mushrooms and Swiss burger: couldn't taste much of aged balsamic vinegar or truffle Aioli as written. Their pickles are tasty!
Visited: December 1, 2025 I had a Chicken Caesar Salad, and it was decent overall, especially for the price of about $20. Nothing particularly stood out, but it was a solid meal that did the job. Service was average—no issues, just nothing memorable either. Overall, a straightforward dining experience with nothing to rave about. My star ranking system: 1: Bad / Don't go there 2: Could be better 3: Average 4: Above average but not the best 5: A true top notch place
Food was not great. Cheese fries were so mid, the fries itself were horrible. Asked for the red chili wings, the bartender told me they didn't have any. Would have been good to know that from the beginning when I sat down. Bartender was coughing and cutting up pineapple with his bare hands. Ended up getting the chicken sandwhich and it's so basic. I feel like I was being fooled looking at these comments before going to this restaurant. There wasn't a single table in the restaurant but 3 people other than myself sitting in the bar area. Ended up still paying about $31 for a chicken sandwhich w cheese fries, and one beer. Service was not even close to average or subpar. Dang, I'm so disappointed. Won't recommend this, and think other people could find better places to get some food nearby.
Been coming here for 3 years. Yesterday I went with my friend, and we saw a group of two guys get up and move to a different table with no explanation. After we ate our food, me and my friend both freaked out after we saw a little mouse on the floor next to us, my friend got up and wouldn’t sit back down because the rat came from under the same booth he was sitting on. We now know why the 2 other dudes moved to a different table. After telling the manager, he just said there was a mouse on the loose, and didn’t offer us anything in return, which is crazy because they never told us there were rats in the restaurant before we ate our food, even though they were fully aware of it. Never coming back here. It’s a shame the only place with beef tallow fries can’t handle a rat problem.
NO, NO, NO, - STAY AWAY ! ! ! Went for T'Day dinner. Overall, very bad. No dinner menu, just the lunch menu and a low end fixed price turkey plate that did not include dessert. Dessert was extra. The brussel sprouts and the pumpkin cheesecake were better than average, but not great. The rest of the meal was a bad clown show. - the rib eye steak was thin and rubbery, took it home for the dog, the dog walked away from it. - the Carmel shake tasted like vanilla soft serve. - the mushroom swiss Burger was small and greasy. - the turkey itself was ok, the dressing was cold and doughy, the beans were raw, the two jumbo pearl onions on the side were tasteless and made no sense - the service was slow and lost. - the Carmel shake took 20 minutes. - the room temperature was way too cold - overall the $200.00 for 3 people was a rip off, go to the Amphora Diner on Herndon.
