Place is always spot on and the chef’s are great? Wonderful show and food! So much fun!!
Friendly staff and FANTASTIC, fresh buffet; highest quality around. Specialties for me are: the juicy flavorful gyro, slightly smoky baba ganoush, hummus, light and crunchy falafel, roasted cauliflower, fragrant yellow rice, eggplant/tomato sauce chickpea dish (my favorite!), fresh vegetables/zucchini, broiled chicken, softly floral rose water rice pudding with pistachios with added cinnamon. Sometimes they serve fresh, stuffed peppers and stuffed zucchini.
Great food and good people. All you can eat with refills for only $20 Food is very tasty and fresh. Their coka cola is made from raw cane. It’s quite good. Plenty of parking on the south side with handicap. Give Alibaba a try. It’s Mediterranean food!
Good food. Tipping at the door before you eat was a bit weird, but that only for Buffett. Pandemic update: Love the fact that they have outside patio at dinner on the weekend. Food still taste just as good as buffet. The service is still excellent as usual. So glad they survived the pandemic.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Alibaba Restaurant in Dallas, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the outstanding service provided by Amanda, our waiter for the evening. From the moment I stepped through the door, Amanda greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel right at home. Her attentiveness throughout the meal was unparalleled, and she went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. I opted for the saffron chicken with falafel as a side, and I was blown away by the flavors and presentation of the dish. Each bite was a burst of authentic Middle Eastern flavors, expertly prepared by the talented kitchen staff at Alibaba Restaurant. What truly set this dining experience apart was Amanda’s exceptional service. Her friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine passion for hospitality were evident in every interaction. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made us feel like valued guests throughout the entire meal. Overall, Alibaba Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The combination of delicious food and unparalleled service, thanks to Amanda, made for a truly memorable dining experience. I can’t wait to return and indulge in more of their delectable dishes while enjoying the same level of exceptional service. A heartfelt thank you to Amanda and the entire team at Alibaba Restaurant for making my visit truly unforgettable.
Packed during busy times (lunchtime) on account of its great value and quality 'under fire'. Best tomato and basil soup in Dallas. Sample chicken, lamb, and beef, cooked countless ways or get utterly stuffed on the gargantuan selection of vegetarian stuff. Just a trip to the cold table yields great hummus, baba ganoush, garlic paste, and tzatziki, salads and more. There is simply too much to try everything on one trip. But do go back.
Really tasty Mediterranean food. I was hungry so forgot to take pictures. Really loved the garlic sauce.
If you want fresh, healthy and delicious food this is the place to go, especially during the weekday lunch buffet from 11am to 2:30 pm, and it's busy but they have plenty of fresh veggies, salads, soupd, and your choices of grilled or baked chicken and lamb dishes. Staff is friendly and you can eat indoors or the patio. It's a high five from me!
This place is SO good. I've been here a few times and I've been impressed every time. It's easy to be impressed the first time you eat somewhere so I've waited until now to actually leave a review. So this place is a buffet during lunch time and it ends at 2:30pm and the price per person comes to about $15. Believe me, it's worth the price. There's plenty of vegetarian options for my fellow veggie lovers but there's still enough options for the meat lovers as well. Just beware of the food coma and immediate want for a midday siesta that follows afterwards.
Best of the best place if are really hungry and want to taste some good food. Fantastic food options. Mix of Asian and English foods. This to consider: this is usually a crowded place and if you are running with time then this place is not for you. Mostly you have to wait for 15-20 min for getting the table. But believe me waiting worth. Big 5+ star to this place.
A nice place to have a nice family dinner, although I don't like the alcohol bar side for a Mediterranean restaurant, especially if we're taking kids there, but that's the restaurant's management choice, I just choose to sit on the other side and let everyone be. I wish if the management would make the buffet available for the whole day, not only through 2 pm, as that would limit the time we can come in with the family, especially going to Mediterranean restaurants is not only about having a meal, but also having a nice family gathering which the buffet provides a perfect atmosphere and vibe.
Absolutely fantastic service with warm. Smiles delicious plenty full food. With Great ambiance !!! Thank you wait staff and the management for just a beautiful experience.
A great Mediterranean restaurant with a variety of dishes. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The service is wonderful and everyone is just pleasant. I only wish they had a few more dessert options.
One of our favorite places. Saffron Chicken is amazing. I dream about that stuff. There humus is the best I have had. I highly recommend this place, and if you read my reviews, you will know I don't say that very often. The service is also very good and friendly. YUMMY!!! Also, the serving big enough to share to take home.
Un. Flippin. Believable. I live out of state but when I take my wife and children back to visit, first question is "Are we going to Ali Baba's?" Even my picky "vegetables are Evil" 15 year old son loves Ali Baba. We only go for the lunch buffet but have visited a dozen times now over the last few years. Unreal. There are no soft spots here folks. Dozens of hot and cold items that are spot on - like nailed it on. With big nails. I cannot tell you how impressed I am (we all are) with the consistent high quality of not just the food at each visit but it's consistency as a whole over years. Apparently, they don't have off days at Ali Baba.
We've been regular customers of Ali Baba since they were on lower Greenville Ave in an 8 or 9 table restaurant and standing room only. The wait would often exceed 2 hrs, but it was so well worth the time. I believed in them so much I did their original website in 2000-ish when they moved to Preston @ Frankford. We've also made the mistake of trying several other middle eastern restaurants and have never been pleased. My husband and I joke that we're cheating on Ali Baba. We've moved to Denton and still visit their Richardson restaurant every few weeks. What we truly appreciate is knowing that every time the food will taste the same as it did on every visit prior. Quality produce and fresh ingredients are the key! There are the staples: baba ghanouj, hummus, tabouli, gyro/shwarma, falafel, grilled chicken, chicken kufta, cauliflower, moussaka, curry chicken, beef kufta, soft warm pita and rice, accompanied by tahini, tzatziki, garlic sauce, mana'eesh, spanikooira, kousa mashi, kibbe, grilled and steamed vegetables, olives, waraq'ainab/dolmas/stuffed grape leaves, soup, assorted condiments and salads, as well as rice pudding. Their dinner menu has a mezza platter--an assortment of baba ghanouj, tabouli and hummus. Their chicken, beef and lamb kabobs are phenomenal. Also, a light layered phyllo pastry with an assortment of nuts--baklava. The restaurant and bathrooms are well maintained, the wait staff is prompt to clean and bus a table and are attentive to removing plates we've finished with or bringing another napkin, silverware or a to-go cup--delivered with a smile. The cashiers are the owner's sons and I've watched them grow from young boys into fine young men that are wonderful stewards of their parent's legacy--Ali Baba. Customer service, patience and a smile are great assets and displayed abundantly at the restaurant. I'm certain their parents are equally proud of them. So well worth the wait, the drive and the price. This is where we bring our friends and guests that visit. Great job, Ali Baba. Here's to your next 30 years!
Who doesn't love the food and the BUFFET at Ali Baba?!! I do! You do! WE ALL DO! Standouts are: All of the grilled meats including chicken and savory kebabs! Tabbouleh (parsley salad) was tart, fresh and vibrant Baked kibbeh (baked seasoned ground meat) was cooked to perfection Spanakopita (spinach and feta pastry) was flaky with a lush filling Tart n Tangy Hummus made daily - SCRUMPTIOUS! Delectable rice pudding (THIRDS on this) Out of town guest rave about the food and vibe! An eclectic mix from the local workforce, couples in love, hungry dudes, and Pomeranian owners. Only quibble was that the pita was a bit dry and tough.
Ali Baba Mediterranean cuisine is so delicious!!!!! The food was seasoned to the taste of perfection, I couldn't believe how many delicious and different entrées they had. It was endless, and I wanted to get a taste of everything . My girlfriends and I meet there to engage in laughter, good food, and great memories, and that's exactly what we got!!!!! When you walk in, you first meet the handsome hosts and cashiers Jorge and Brandon, and they are very friendly and helpful they set the tone for a great time.. I didn't get the beautiful young lady's name who was cleaning the tables and making sure the areas of the dining room stayed clean, but I did get her pic with Brandon.. Thank you, Ali Baba, for a great time and delicious food you made our day!!!! We will be back!!!!!! Mardianne
One of my friends took me this place for lunch , then I realized Terra Mediterranean and Ali baba both has same kind of restaurant and same kind of food items Ambience - Super cool ambience with 2 set of buffet stalls. The receptionist welcomed us with warm and sparkling smile and slotted a table for 4 of us. Food - it’s unlimited buffet food with different meat and vegetarian options. Vast number of salads and non veg items on buffet stalls. Food was fresh and refilling the food immediately once it’s completed. Complementary sodas, Teas and lemonades. Service - the service was really cool and professional.
Amazing customer service, friendly and diligent staff super quick with the service. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️ The place is clean with comfy seating area. The food is exquisite, enjoyed every bit of it specifically the chicken and lamb kebab along with a variety of sautéed vegetables. The flat bread was heavenly baked soft dough with feta cheese and the fried kibbeh was crunchy and delicious 😋😋😋 tomato basil soup was just what was needed warm, thick and yummy 😋😋😋 Highly recommended for Mediterranean dine in. Definitely coming back for the buffet next time. 😍😍
We had a really good experience tonight at Ali Baba. The prices are a bit higher than expected, but the food was fantastic and thus it was worth every penny. The kabobs are amazing especially the chicken and the lamb ones. The chicken was exceptionally moist and tender and the lamb a delight. If you are a bit adventurous, the steak tartar will not disappoint. Lastly, the baklava was excellent. Do not miss this place.
Went with several friends from church, and it was great! Maybe the best experience I've had at a Mediterranean buffet in Dallas so far. I think I like it better than Dimassi and Andalous. One of the main reasons I have to say is because of the feta cheese rolls. They are one of my favorite Mediterranean appetizers and they were on point here. The rest of the food and meats were good and they had rice pudding as dessert, which was pretty good. It was $25 for lunch ($20 on a weekday) I think which is pricey but enjoyed the quality for a buffet. Would definitely come again!
Chicken was pretty dry but everything else was super tasty. A good variety of options to choose from, but not an overwhelming amount.
This place is 10 miles from my home and I have never regretted going there once. This place gets super crowded around lunch and dinner times and a visit here almost often includes a wait time of about 10-30 minutes. This is an all you can eat buffet with different meat and vegetarian options. Their falafels, hummus and Baba Ghanoush, shaved meats are the best!! We keep going there when we really want to have a great meal !! They have different salads, sauces, hummus , soups and pita breads available.
Went with a larger group of co-workers for the lunch buffet. We arrived a few minutes after they opened and all the food was super fresh and the staff was very accomodating and quick to clear used plates. I highly recommend the falafel, gyro meat, yogurt chicken, and the rice pudding, but it's a buffet, so try it all! 😁
My Goddaughter treated me to not only a healthy meal, but a very tasty meal. It was Mother’s Day. It was raining, but it didn’t deter the essence of a wonderful moment and environment to express love and appreciation. My Goddaughter is a frequent customer. It was my very first time. I am certain that I will also treat friends to a meal here. Thank you for the pleasant dining experience!!😋
WOW! Great experience! There were many different options to choose from, but all of it was delicious. The hummus appetizer is seriously phenomenal. The food came out in a timely manner and the staff were all helpful and very attentive. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who is searching for great Mediterranean food.
Excellent food and service! It's one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants. The hummus is the best I've tasted anywhere.
My wife works near Ali Baba and has been raving for a long time. I finally had business near there around lunch time, so we met up for the tail-end of the lunch buffet. While I haven’t had a lot of exposure to Mediterranean fare, what I sampled at Ali Baba was delicious! Lamb, chicken, rice, spanakopita, it was all extremely tasty, especially even being late for the buffet. The service and atmosphere were a treat, too. I’ll definitely be going there again when I have cause to be down that way! I wish I had thought to take pictures…
The best in town! In every aspect…. Friendly and professional staff, fresh and delicious entrées, halal chicken and other meats. We tried their chicken and beef kabob, felafel, hummus and saffron chicken. Saffron chicken was so far the best Chicken in white gravy with exactly the perfect saffron flavor. Good job Ali Baba, We will definitely keep visiting
The food here is amazing! LOVE the lunch buffet! Price is $20 (weekday) pp which includes a variety of salads, fruits, and side sauces offered. At the fpod section you can find saffron chicken, saffron rice, roasted cauliflower, sautees veggies and an assortment of other dishes...all delicious! Leave room for the Rice Pudding!! It's to DIE FOR 😋. Buffet price does include your drink. Buffet runs from open-2:30 pm.
What a pleasant surprise this place was for me! Can’t believe I haven’t heard of this place sooner. Lunchtime buffet is excellent, the place gets packed around then for a good reason! Food is delicious, everything is fresh and hot and expertly prepared. Huge variety of Mediterranean dishes to choose from, can’t wait to go back and explore some new choices!
I really enjoy going to the lunch buffet, which is available on weekdays and weekends. The buffet is all you can eat. There is a good variety of meats and sides and is all well seasoned. The staff and help are all very friendly. They are efficient in helping clear your table so you can go and enjoy more food! I love their pudding dessert with a touch of cinnamon on top!
It's hard to find a place where your wife who has a bunch of dietary needs. We gave this place a chance because it said on Google it's vegan. Our first visit was great and my wife did not get sick but she still had to make sure certain items she could eat. This was our second time going so we knew what to expect. First of all a lot of people with nice profile cars were here. We are thinking Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Audi, and Tesla just to name a few. So imagine me rolling up in my CRV Honda. Anyways, the price is different from weekdays and weekends. On weekends it's like 25 bucks per person. I know it's high but look who's coming in. The food is all Mediterranean and it's pretty good. There are some things I like better. The pictures say a lot then what I can but I would go back again and it's all you can eat plus drinks are included in the price which is always great.
Excellent food. For everyone's attention Restaurant is charging around $1.6 as credit card charges per person, so check if you wanna pay cash or with card. And this is for owners, please put a sign board indicating this new change and make customers aware. People please like this review so that it can reach others. Thank you Ali Baba.
Absolutely the best Mediterranean food in the Dallas area! I’ve been coming for over ten years now and the food and service have always been consistently great. The buffet is amazing, letting you try everything from their perfect hummus, roasted cauliflower, and their delicious potatoes. Try their sriracha sauce at the salad bar!
I was referred to this restaurant by a friend to meet up there for a Sunday lunch buffet. This Mediterranean restaurant is great for vegetarians as the buffet has many vegetarian choices. The atmosphere has a great vibe. The restaurant is clean and the service is superb. The buffet items had a great presentation and looked very appetizing. The buffet price included tax and a fountain drink. I highly recommend this restaurant in Richardson.
I visited Ali Baba on a Friday evening, unknowingly, right before the kitchen was set to close. I arrived at 8:25pm, the server politely let us know that the kitchen closed at 8:30pm, but still insisted on seating us. He maintained his professionalism and at no time did we feel rushed. The food came out tasting fresh and flavorful. I also ordered an Old Fashioned, which too was delicious. It was my first visit to Ali Baba and I was not disappointed. Pictured are the vegetables, coriander potatoes, cauliflower (all of which are Gluten Free (GF)), and the oven roasted trout dish.
Very good food, fresh, and delicious. Staff was extremely friendly and restaurant was very clean and inviting. Highly recommend.
I absolutely love coming to this place! First off, the staff is very friendly and attentive, and they provide a great atmosphere. Secondly, the food is priced very well, nothing on the menu seems overpriced at all, so very affordable. Thirdly, everything I have had here is delish! What I pictured is the falafel plate which comes with four and some fresh veggies. I also got the saffron chicken plate, which came with rice on the side. The rice had a nice hint of fragrance and paired fantastic with the chicken and the sauce. The chicken itself just about melted in my mouth, and the sauce was very flavorful. You can also go here in the morning to mid lunch times for their buffet which is an incredible way to try the majority of their dishes! I asked the waitress when I was here on a Sunday and she mentioned that Sunday buffets end at 3:00pm. If you haven’t been here at all , I highly recommend you try the buffet first, and enjoy your experience here cause that’s what you’ll have!
Been going to this place for years now, and the quality of their dishes and customer service is still great! My only wish is that they bring back my fave mushroom soup to the weekend buffet. That one is 🔥🔥🔥 The place stays packed, so plan to either get there early (about 11-ish) for lunch so the line is still short, or before closing time at 3pm. They have the crunchiest Falafel! To prolong happiness, get a few more items to-Go! It’s $14/lb 😉
Wow I tried this place for the first time and looks liek I found my favorite Mediterranean buffet place. Every thing tasted amazing and made it hard to choose my favorite The lemon chicken and creamy mushroom chicken were yummy and the spinach puffs are delicious Can't wait to go back here to eat a lot more
As always, great experience. Very clean establishment and nice ambiance. ALI Baba has mastered the art of keeping buffet food fresh. Variety of meats and kabobs, best and delicious/flavorful. Falafel and rice are amazing!!
Quality of food was amazing, even more impressive since this is a buffet. All of the staffs were attentive and nice! They greeted us when we entered and left, quickly removed finished plates on the table and came and refilled every items before they started to run low so everything was really fresh and hot. Clean bathroom + free drinks!
We drove to Richardson today and ate lunch at Ali Baba Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Lebanese Buffet Restaurant. I asked the manager “ How do you make every dish, without fail, absolutely delicious?” He graciously replied “We make it with love.” Never ever, have I eaten at a restaurant where every dish is just excellent gourmet cuisine. The flavors are like it was made with love in Mama’s kitchen. It’s no wonder the doors are constantly revolving and as one seat empties, another fills it.
OH. MY. GOODNESS. I've never actually been to a Mediterranean place that had a buffet, and let me just say, this place actually blew my mind 🤯!! The food 🥙 was phenomenal, the price 🏷️ was reasonable, and I was able to eat and eat and eat until I was absolutely stuffed. I cannot explain how happy this meal made me. I usually don't get crazy excited in my reviews but this place is absolutely a must-try!!
I’ve been going to Ali Baba Mediterranean Buffet for years, and it continues to be my go-to spot. The buffet offers a wide variety of fresh, flavorful, and authentic Mediterranean dishes. The staff is wonderful, and the service is consistently excellent, making every visit enjoyable. Warm ambiance, great quality, and reasonable prices — a reliable favorite that never disappoints!
I’ve been going to Ali Baba Mediterranean for as long as I can remember, and it has consistently been incredible over the years! The buffet is always fresh, with everything swapped out regularly, so nothing ever goes cold or stale. The staff here are top-notch, keeping everything clean and well-stocked. My favorites are the saffron chicken with rice and the gyros—they nail it every time! Honestly, it’s hard for them to mess up any entree. Plus, the staff is super cool and attentive, which makes each visit even better. This is a clean buffet that’s sure to fill you up fast. Highly recommend!
I was in town for a conference and for a pre-gathering time, and our friends decided to go to Ali Baba Mediterranean. The food was wonderfully tasty and had a Mediterranean salad with chicken and a sample of the beef shawarma. I also had a friend that did the plate and we all ate our food! Highly recommended with great service.
This place was excellent! My favorite item was the Saffron Chicken over rice, the bread was also very good. Staying nearby for work, a relative recommended as she used to frequent when her job was nearby. The buffet was well organized and plenty of variety to choose from. I plan to eat here again when I am back in the area.
Great food, always consistent and delicious. If you haven't been there, try the lunch buffet. Fresh and flavorful ingredients and the dishes are very authentic. Def recommend.

We had lunch buffet at Ali Baba Mediterranean Grill on Saturday. The Lamb Gyro was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It cost $25 per person. The parking was adequate.

Super yummy spot, especially if you like a lot of food. For a buffet style restaurant the quality is very good, I didn’t have anything that was too dry or anything like that. The gyro meat was excellent and my go to at places like this. I also enjoyed the cauliflower and kabobs. I am doing keto and there were a lot of great options for that. Tho the bread and rice dishes were VERY tempting and clearly crowd pleasers.
Best Mediterranean buffet in town! They only have the buffet for lunch, so get there early. The salad bar, the pita bread, and all the selections from the buffet are all extremely fresh. My favorite is the creamy curry sautéed chicken with fresh grilled veggies on a bed of steaming saffron rice. The price of buffet has jumped exponentially in the last couple years, from $15 to $25! I know inflation has affected everybody, but come on! For this, I have downgraded to 4 stars.
Best Mediterranean Buffet! They have the best falafel here out of all places I have tried! I recommend to go here for the lunch buffet, their menu for regular dining is ok. The pita bread is amazing, always fresh. Service is sometimes slow if you’re doing dinner or visiting outside of buffet hours.
Amazing food!!! We go for the buffet!! Its fresh and great!! Reason for 4 Instead of 5 is it kind of pricey. It's $18 a plate up $4 from before covid at $14 a plate. In 2012 when we first started going here it was $12 a plate. I understand cost of living inflation, but +$6 in 8 years is a little much. If in 2028 it will be $25 per plate with 3 kids, this is $71, making it expensive for my family to afford. Its sad cause we love it so much!! Instead of going 6 times a year we will need to cut it down to 2 times.
Old former chain converted into a solid middle Eastern buffet. Food is a bit hit-or-miss (other lamb and chicken are solid, but sliced meat and Tandoori are so-so and when I got there, both dry). Drinks are included and service is impeccable.
Overall it's a good place to go, as a first timer there , had a friendly waiter also, didnt get to try the buffet just ala Carte. Got the feta flatbread and it was really good, had the calamari and some of the best calamari I've had in a while, nice crunch and tasty. Main course was the cury chicken and the shrimp kabob. The cury chicken was good but a bit to sweet for my taste buds, add a bit of some spice to it just so it can compliment the sweet and itll be a perfect dish!👌, the chicken was juicy and not dry. The shrimp kabob was good with huge! Shrimp... but.. it was a little to salty but still good, got it with potatoes and those were just delish. The rice was amazing! Never tried rice like that before. The pitta bread was also delish, nice and soft, and not doughy, cooked well with a nice dip of hummus... would recommend anybody to try it and give it a shot, next time will be going for the buffet 💯💯👌.
Ali Baba is a crowded place on Fridays. They have tasty food served efficiently through a buffet. They manage their crowds well, and their food spread for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian eaters is more than adequate. We were a party of seven with a mix of both. There were plenty of options for non-vegetarians, made mostly with chicken, beef, or lamb. There were two soups: lentil and cream of mushroom. On the topic of the food's taste, the soup was average. They had a flaky stuffed bread with spinach and peanuts that stood out (I didn't take pictures of their counters due to a lack of time). The pistachio-laced spicy bread was also good, along with the baba ghanoush and hummus. Their falafel was crispy, crunchy, and very tasty. My friends recommended this place, and it had high reviews—4.5 stars from almost 4,000 reviewers. After eating there, I'd agree that the reviews were mostly accurate. I would have rated it slightly higher than a 4 but not a 5 because of the lack of dessert options, especially for the price of around
I started going to Ali Baba years back and loved it. There are very few places that serve up a Mediterranean Buffet this extensive and delicious. The Buffet is only on weekdays and I suspect they are most busy then but it is still good to visit anytime.
The food was pretty authentic and they have a wide range of dishes. The ambience was alright. Some beverages we missing descriptions and the service was a bit slow. It is a self service buffet but no one came to clear the table of used plates. The price might be a bit higher than other similar places. The dishes were certainly fresh and had good taste. Grilled chicken was nice and moist. Falafels were awesome with sesame seeds. Enjoyed the rice pudding as well. Revisited again on March 01, 2022 as it was amazing the first time. But I must say certain dishes lacked consistency when it came to taste (falafels and garlic sauce to be exact). Rice pudding was still tasty and the roasted chicken dishes were delicious and moist.
The food here is very good. In fact, their lentil soup is absolutely the best I have ever had. The place tends to be very crowded and kind of loud. It was designed to be a nice place but gets very crowded at meal times. There is not much in the way of atmosphere but the staff is attentive and make sure that your used plates are cleaned off the table. One thing that's very nice is that the gyros meat is all lamb instead of the typical lamb and beef mix. The buffet line gets very crowded because there's really no place to line up. The food is great!

Buffet stile only when we were there. Food was good, they kept the buffet clean and full. Worth a try.
Went with a party of 12, food was great but disappointed with the automatic gratuity. I have never had automatic gratuity when dining at a buffet. This is not a full service restaurant, the only table service provided was in removing our empty plates. It's disappointing that this place does not understand tipping etiquette.
I would rate this place a 3.5/5. Wanted to taste Mediterranean food for a long time and went to this place looking at the ratings. Food was fresh. We were charged 25$ per person which is kind of on the costlier end. They have decent number of options. They had only one dessert which was rice pudding and not so tasty so reducing one star for that. Could be better for the pricing of 25$.
I’d rate my experience about three stars. The meat itself was tasty and pretty good in flavor, but it didn’t feel as fresh as the last time I visited—maybe they were just having a busy day. Also, there was only one dessert option, and I kind of wished there were at least two choices . Overall, it wasn’t bad and the meat still tasted good, just a little on the cooler side this time. I’ll probably give them another shot in the future to see if it’s back to the freshness I remember.
I used to love this place but it seems like they have new owners or management changed. The quality and freshness isn’t the same. I hope they fix it because we used to see lines out the door from how great it was. Now they’re mid.
Food is so so, though was expecting it better, stuffs are nice atmosphere is good. Too much use of lemons in all kind of meats item made it less tasty. Anyway, expectation was higher.
The gyros, potatoes and pasta were really good but the rice tasted undercooked! Nice ambiance and it's self service. I came here on Saturday evening with my family for dinner and we kinda liked it! I…

Granted the food is only marginally better (in quality) than average but the slick marketing and truly discriminating service left one wondering why should one settle for such a low bar. The Shrimp size had shrunk on the grill or the establishment prefers these to be on the smaller side. The Lamb had the malodorous tell-tale sign of inadequate or hasty marinade. The culinary experiments can be forgiven but the disdain from the staff cannot.
I usually frequent this place but I havent in a few months. I decided to go today and it was disappointing. I ordered Togo and nothing tasted fresh. It all seemed like it came from sitting in the buffet.
Disappointment: I’ve eaten at alibaba for almost 5 years now. I’ve never had the buffet as it is not my style so this review does not apply to the buffet. However, I previously would’ve reviewed the restaurant at 4-5 stars. Now, they have completely removed their dinner menu and only offer it at take out 😱! The restaurant is buffet only now. It was disappointing because my family was hoping to sit in and enjoy our favorite meals but we got take out. We’ve gotten take out before so it wasn’t the worst thing ever except we were starving! Our favorite meals to get are the lamb chops, oven roasted trout, and the half roasted chicken. Well when I got home the takeout did not look like it used to. The size is the trout was much smaller than I’ve had in the past. The spinach was literally just the spinach off the buffet line versus fresh cooked spinach with the lemon caper sauce that it would usually come with. The tray was full of so much spinach it was ridiculous. The presentation was just not what I was used to with their takeout, nor the meat portions. The caper sauce was still yummy but the fish was on the dry side and the spinach was not enticing, though the caper sauce helped me to stomach it. Just really disappointing how they have changed so much and ruin one if my favorite fish dishes. 😫
My quest for the "best halal buffet in DFW" led me straight to this place, and I can confirm that the rumors are wildly inaccurate. This isn't the "best" anything, unless you're looking for an overpriced, underwhelming, and potentially dangerous dining experience. The selection was so limited that calling it a buffet felt generous—it was more like a handful of dishes arranged to give the illusion of variety. The price, meanwhile, was a cruel joke. I've paid less for far more at other restaurants. But the real showstopper? The red flags of a potential health hazard were everywhere, giving the phrase "eat at your own risk" a whole new meaning. All in all, this place is the perfect example of a promise unkept. I should mention that price was not awful. $25 for a buffet it’s not too high but if I ordered what I could have separately it would be like $18, the selection was that limited
Man it's so sad to write this review. I grew up with Ali-Baba when it was located on Greenville Ave. This place is a shell of its former self. The food tasted like it was all reheated in a microwave. Nothing tasted fresh, the baba ganoush and humus tasted old and "fresh" out of the fridge. The waitress was great but that's about it. If you want real med cuisine go to Ahfra. It's a night and day difference in quality and freshness of the food. I won't ever be coming back here.
11-20-25: The restaurant ran out of rice, and no other alternative was served. People at the front desk failed to inform us prior to the payment and Charhed full price for a 50lb kid from being 11. Rules only apply at charging full price, but no response or apology for half served menu
Well. All other reviews look like they are paid. This place is overrated. Even on weekends there are no quality food. Over crowded. No air conditioning. Kitchen is in open space if dining area, so the place is too humid and hot. Kind of fry sauna effect. Not sure if county agreed to allow that many customers inside at a time. All the tables were booked. Also the roof is not sealed or looked like the place is burned.
We used to love this place, but it is just not the same! We stopped in for lunch on a Monday. It was Presidents Day, but we were shocked they had a sign on the door indicating that the buffet was $25 instead of $20 for "holiday pricing". Seriously! On Presidents Day! **Eye roll** We proceeded in, paid for the buffet, and got a table. When I went to get a drink, almost all the fountain drink options were labeled OUT. Okay, what is going on here!?! Not good. Especially since we can only drink sugar free beverages. I stopped an employee to complain and explain. He was kind enough to set up the sugar free drink dispenser for us, but no clue why all the other ones were out!? On to the buffet. I always like to start with soup and the tomato basil soup did not disappoint, but the seeded bread was soaked with too much olive oil and the spanakopita was soggy. The rest of the food was average at best. The chicken is usually so good here, but it was flavorless. Even the chicken dish with the mushrooms and gravy. No flavor whatsoever. Definitely not worth the Presidents Day up charge holiday pricing! We won't be back.
I was absolutely horrified to find live bugs in my food!! See those brown specs on my cucumber? Those were crawling around when I opened the sealed plastic container they were delivered in. I have a video but can’t post it on here. They’re lively! After calling them to tell them about my experience, one manager offered me a $50 gift card. I called back to claim it and they told me they’re no longer offering it to me. I’m sad to not go back there because I’ve always enjoyed it but live bugs in my food was the deal breaker. I can’t imagine what else is in that kitchen if someone packed a to go order with live bugs clearly crawling around! I’m shocked! I’ve never experienced something so gross in my life then for them to offer and take back a gift card. So terribly unprofessional.
