Tip: Ask for Sennett B. for good service. The key lime pie is divine. Skip the everything Gumbo and stay seafood, the sausage overpowers the rest.

We had the lunch fried shrimp and a bowl of seafood gumbo. The gumbo was a meal by itself. Both were excellent and the service by Elijah was superb.
Did lunch here for my wife's birthday. Food was delicious. Large portions. The rolls were amazing as well.
It was so busy but a reservations do allow us to escape the line! Food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly!
We love dining at the Pappadeaux in Richardson. Our past experiences with the service and wait staff have been fine. This time, we had the pleasure of Matthew as our server.. He was attentive and so pleasant. Matthew took such great care of us. We are definitely going to request him on our next visit . The food is always fresh and delicious. The Greek salad , trout with crab and jasmine rice and fried shrimp were all amazing . My husband's favorite drink , Swamp thing! Even Grandma requested one for her slight cold.
We had such an amazing experience thanks to our server, Quinton C. at Pappadeaux! Even though it looked like he had about 4 tables, he still gave us excellent service. He knew the menu really well and made great recommendations on the specials. Quinton got our food out quickly enough for us to make our movie on time, which we really appreciated. I didn’t see the manager while we were there, but I actually called the restaurant afterward just to brag on him he was THAT good! If you come here, definitely request Quinton. Thank you, Quinton!! Keep doing what you’re doing! ❤️❤️
Visited this location when I was in town and loved it! I had their fried alligator bites and salmon with honey ginger sauce and they were phenomenal! The salmon was cooked to perfection, a little on the raw side, but so good! The bartender was also very nice and friendly. Can’t wait to be back.
Love Pappadeux! Great server for my dad's 80th birthday celebration! Great food! I've been to pappadeux several times in Dallas, Richardson and san Antonio and always had amazing experience! It was my parents first time ever there today and a family friend and they loved it! Couldn't stop raving about the food, server's clothes and vibes. Love it! Kids loved the lobster tank!
Well it's pappadeaux great atmosphere and service for some Louisiana style seafood got catfishe with dirty rice and salad with salmon and bread pudding for dessert so if you never been here you should try there menu is somewhat seasonal so they kinda have different items throught out the year
Some of the best food I’ve ever had. The seafood is exquisite. Everything was perfectly prepared and the staff was very helpful and friendly. There is a lot of room here but it does get very busy around the traditional meal times. You can reserve a table online as well which is very helpful. We look forward to coming back as often as possible!
Great long time Cajun food restaurant. I've been eating here for over 30 years. Softshell crab is really good, flash-fried. Gumbo's are consistently good. I really like their shrimp po boy sandwich (they were nice enough to make it for me well after lunch hours today). Their bread is delightfully fluffy. In season, their oysters on the half shell are fresh, cold and delicious.
We came here earlier this week to celebrate our anniversary. Our server was Desmond and he was phenomenal! The service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered their mozzarella fried cheese bites for our appetizer and I ordered their shrimp, scallop, and crab pasta. My husband ordered their filet mignon with the loaded baked potato and broccolini and added a lobster tail for $27. Their complementary bread was really good too. The only thing I would say is that the add-on lobster tail was small and definitely not worth $27. So I would not recommend adding that to your dish. Overall, a good experience!
Today my husband and I ate at Pappadeaux on 75. It wasn’t too busy. We were seated and noticed a family who came in before us were helped before we were. A few minutes later the manager Fonzi came to our table and told us he noticed that we weren’t being helped. He offered us an appetizer at no cost. Then shortly Davion appeared to take care of us. If all employees were as intelligent and thoughtful as those two you could not keep people from putting this restaurant on the top of the list! BTW, we did not order an appetizer but it was a considerate gesture which we appreciated!
My second time visiting Pappadeaux, ever! Another top notch experience. I initially came to place an order to go, but decided to eat at the bar. Both bartenders were very attentive, even though they were extremely busy. The restaurant was packed. The food was absolutely delicious and perfect! Two times in a row. Perhaps this is now my new favorite restaurant of any place I've been. Great job! 🔥
If I could I would give them one extra star for the delicious food and great service. The only reason I gave a star less for the atmosphere was because it was too crowded. But the quality of the food says the reason behind it. We ordered fillet mignon Oscar that comes with loaded baked potato and a side of spinach and crab lump, and crawfish etouffee. Both were super delicious. It's an expensive restaurant, but it's worth it. If you are celebrating your special day, and if you like seafood , you can definitely go there. Well, they just don't sell seafood here, they have chicken or beef too, but seafood is their specialty. That's why the name says seafood kitchen.
We've been going here for over 27 years, and every meal has been outstanding. It is usually busy, so reservations are advised. I love the Seafood Platter or Pappadeaux Platter (fried) and usually have one of those. Others in my family have tried a wide variety of their dishes, and they have been been well satisfied 99% of the time. Desserts are great. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and portions are generous. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. It takes time to get the food, but its worth the wait. It's noisy, but not too much so. Highly recommended.
If you’ve ever wondered what great service feels like, stop by the Pappadeaux on Central Expressway in Richardson and ask for Ryan. I came in for lunch and left genuinely impressed. The atmosphere was exactly what you want after a long morning...inviting and upbeat. I ordered the spicy grouper with truffle potatoes, and let’s just say the flavor didn’t miss a single note. Even after that, Ryan was witty (and persuasive) enough to sell dessert to a man who was already overstuffed (the pecan pie was worth every bite. I shared my appreciation with the manager, but I wanted Corporate to know this too: it’s rare these days to find someone who genuinely enjoys what they do. Ryan embodies that. Service like his doesn’t just make a meal, it creates loyalty.
My first time visiting this particular location and the service was top notch! Appetizers and drinks arrived quickly, entrees were piping hot and our server was extremely polite and attentive to our every need! Got a free dessert in celebration of our anniversary, such a sweet gesture and very appreciated! Come here hungry and leave completely satisfied!
We had a girls birthday dinner, and Austin was the absolute best server!! We took OUR TIME and he was super patient and attentive the entire time. Austin needs a promotion immediately!! Shoutout to the manager MJ for coming by our table as well
I've been eating at Pappadeaux for years and have always had a great meal, and today was no different. The service was stellar, and the food was tasty. The recent menu change was a bit off-putting, but I made it through...lol There are fewer selections than before, and the Crab Cake is gone!!! 😭 And these prices, Jesus....! Nonetheless, I'll be back...🙃
What a fascinating place! Right when you walk up to the restaurant they have a very beautiful and well thought out outdoor dining area.. looks very inviting. Sat down to a beautiful meal, fantastic service and outstanding food. Please stop here when you are visiting the Dallas area.. you won’t be disappointed.
I love seafood and Pappadeaux restaurants. My husband and I were in Dallas for an event and knew ahead of time that we would go there. We were not disappointed!! Kim, our hostess, was amazing! She was very prompt, attentive, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. She promptly greeted us and smiled each time she visited our table. I ordered the stuffed shrimp meal and my husband ordered the red snapper meal with a side of fried shrimp. Both were so delicious!!! We ordered spinach and crab dip as an appetizer. It was good, but not our favorite. My husband’s margarita was very good also. A great date night!!
I’ve been to this location a few times and it’s always great. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. Great place for a date night or celebration. We were there for a birthday celebration and got a complimentary desert. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Someone at our table had a food allergy and the manager came out to talk to us and made sure that we were accommodated. They definitely went above and beyond. Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. Our server, Alissa, was exceptional in every way. She has perfected the delicate balance of service. She was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to answer multiple questions regarding several dishes. She made sure our drinks were always filled. Some servers tend to be borderline invasive. This was not the case with Alissa. Her communication was clear and only as needed. Plates were quietly and promptly removed from our table throughout our meal. She followed up and made sure our food was to our liking shortly after receiving it, which it was. She offered us the dessert menu and, after dinner drinks. We enjoyed our meal to the point of being simply too full for anything more. Our bill was presented and processed without delay. From the drinks to the appetizers to the main course, everything was an absolute delight.
Another great visit to Papadeaux seafood kitchen. Visited here over 2 decades ago.. and it still doesn't disappoint. The service was awesome. Our server Shaw was attentive, knowledgeable, and very courteous. The food was excellent. I had the catfish and shrimp etouffe and it was done exceptionally well. The ambiance is friendly and warm. The prices are reasonable for the quality you get. Portion sizes are reasonable too. The fresh baked bread and churned butter were excellent too. Worth a stop if you're looking for Cajun style or other seafood for sure!
Love this restaurant. Food is always fresh and service is wonderful! Love to see establishments investing in young minorities for service industries! Young people making positive impacts in the community and their service was impeccable 👌🏼
One of those places that are guaranteed to satisfy. The place is large and comfortable, service is good but that is not really where they shine. Food is fantastic, the level of consistency they have across multiple visita is outstanding. Plates are large and bountiful but that’s good considering prices are not necessarily low. I always prefer the more local small places over larger chains but this place is a big exception, I could eat here any day.
We had a great time celebrating my mom's birthday. We did have a reservation but there were plenty of open tables. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing. We shared 4 different appetizers and they were all so good. 😋 Most of us took home half of our meal. Highly recommend. 🍤🦐🥳🎂
Ohhhhh my goodness!!! The food was above amazing!!! The only incident I experienced was when the server 'J' made a mistake and did not want to confront me. Instead, Amber was sent over. She went above and beyond and was so amazingly polite and kind. She rectified with a solution to the issue. Other than that, it was above amazing. My party and I ordered the Calamari & Octopus; Pasta Mardi Gras; Grilled Chicken Alfredo with Shrimp. After leaving and upon arriving at the hotel, I realized I had left my card. I called, and without hesitantion, she was able to locate it. I felt she took extreme precaution to secure it until I arrived. After I arrived, it took her a few minutes to go grab it. [Well, it is my story, and I am sticking to it-lol] To top it off, while I waited, Ms Malaysia asked if I needed anything. I mentioned the soda combination I had ordered when I dined. Baby, she came through with excellent customer service with the delivery of my request... KUDOS!!! The atmosphere was sooooo amazing as well!! This particular restaurant was my sister's favorite before she passed. When I came to town, we stopped in. As a continued memory for her, every time I visit your great area, I will continue to stop in!!!
I absolutely love Pappadeaux! I am from Greater New Orleans and when I'm in Texas I have to have Pappadeaux. Just like always, the resturant did not disappoint. I came in with a family of 7 adults and 2 toddlers. The waiter (Elijah) was attentive and had an inviting personality. Our food came out timely and hot. We ordered a variety of menu items. Including but not limited to... Bread n butter, pasta, grilled snapper, fried soft Shell crab, fried shrimp, crawfish trio, hurricane, water & soda. Everything was good! I'll be back!
I got Fried Seafood Platter it was excellent. Shrimp gumbo and plain Gator tail appetizers were excellent as well. My son got the pasta with shrimp. All food had great flavor and significant portions.
After a hectic morning, it was nice to come and have a delicious lunch at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. Everything about this restaurant is heaven- the atmosphere, the waitstaff and absolutely the food! It was so refreshing to have such a personable waitress that kept the humor going along with providing everything that we asked for and more, she was top notch! Food was perfect and extremely filling, I couldn’t finish I ended my meal so stuffed… do I packaged the remaining for sweet leftovers later. Thank you for all you do and don’t change a thing! Update: Once again we stopped in for another delicious bite, this time it was dinner, and of course had to sample the shrimp and crawfish fondeaux because it was so delicious the first time. Then I finished the evening with the Trout and Shrimp platter. I left full and satisfied, and the service is always spot on!! We will continue to come back to Pappadeaux every time we’re in town.
Gotta love it, been coming with my family for YEARS. The menu is expansive, the service is shotty but that’s okay. It’s always busy which is a sign of good business. They have fried options, they have grilled, I love the grouper/red fish/salmon and on. My uncle had the manager whip up some phenomenal oysters. Prices have gone up unfortunately, salad was cold and crispy. Soup!
I enjoy the food, restrooms are always clean, eating in the restaurant the food is fresh, To-Go can be a hit or miss you can receive cold food or small portions, listed are four different photos of four different times, when I went to dinner, I frequent this location, because it's a nice vibe
Everything about our experience here was fantastic. The service was perfect, the food was not just visually stunning, it was absolutely delicious. We celebrated my grandmother’s 75th birthday and we received a complementary brownie for the occasion. The blackened salmon was cooked to perfection, we highly enjoyed the pasta and rice dishes. The amount of food you receive for each entree is easily enough for two meals (so well worth the price). Designed very similar to the other locations we have visited in the past. I would highly recommend for a special occasion or date night. They also do offer a reservation option. We will definitely be dining here again in the future!
We had my grandson’s birthday lunch at this location today and I just had to rave about our waiter. Best service at this location to date. Attentive, informative, polite.Above and beyond to make the birthday celebration great. I would ask for Sennett B. for good service.
Venous the manager and Mary our experienced waitress were awesome. From the moment we walked in, both the management and our waitress went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were so personable and attentive, checking in on us multiple times and making sure everything was perfect. What really stood out was how amazing they were with our kids—making them laugh, keeping them engaged, and turning dinner into a genuinely fun experience for our whole family. You can tell they truly care about their guests. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was excellent. This easily became one of our favorite restaurants, not just for the food but for the exceptional service and warm atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend Popsitoes to anyone looking for great food and an even better experience!
Best seafood ever!! My recommendation to try the red snapper, grouper those are best! Salmon is no doubt always good, but if you want to try something new go for the other 2 . I ordered a trout this time, it was too good, but just a little bland. Great service and the ambience is very soothing.
Always amazing. Best seafood and Cajun style fish anywhere. Just off the charts good. My one complaint- they took the Shrimp and Grits off the menu. 😡😡😡. Tonight we got the crab cake and the crawfish platter. Omg! Amazing. They've recently changed the gator bites. Still good, but not as good as they used to be. The service is always top notch. Their standards are always high and kept that way. One of my favorite chain restaurants world wide. So good!
Any time I am in a town with a Pappadeaux, I definitely eat there once but there is a strong possibility I will go another time during my trip. This was stop number 1 of 2, judge your Momma! lol. This location was fantastic! Cheryl was a great waitress and made the visit even more enjoyable. The Shrimp Gumbo was a bit in the runny side but I’m not a huge fan of thick reaux so it worked. Of the two visits this trip, this was the best one. I am not a huge fan of having to wait until the wait staff gives me a menu, I think it’s a bit disjointed and awkward to be seated by a host and then have to wait. Just give me my menu!
Pappadeaux has always been our “go to” restaurant for Cajun food. The service and the food today were excellent. Our server, recognizing we’d been there many times, pointed out that the Salmon Alexander used to come blackened and now it’s grilled so I may prefer it blackened because that’s what I’m used to. She was right. I had ordered it on a prior visit and knew something had changed but couldn’t put my finger on it. It’s because the fish had been cooked differently. Point being, if you prefer your fish blackened, just ask. There have been some non-obvious menu changes that make a huge difference in the flavor of the food.
Great ambiance. Great service. Great food (specifically, fresh seafood). What more can you ask? Group of 3, ordered hot honey Gator bites, fresh oysters, gumbo (one each of the seafood/sausage and crab varieties), calamari as starters. Main course was local red fish (2 varieties chosen) and lobster. The freshness in all seafood items was refreshing. The Gator bites was to the point, with a nice little kick hiding behind the honey based sauce. Calamari was easily one of the top 3 I've had. The gumbo was dense and I could have just had a couple of more small bowls as main course. Lobster - while I've had better (mostly Atlantic coast), I don't have anything to complain about, it was delicious. I didn't partake in trying out the redfish, but my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was top notch and the cocktails ordered, specially the buffalo trace bourbon old fashioned was excellent. Overall, a must visit for seafood lovers.
Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen delivers a truly impressive dining experience, albeit one that comes with a slightly higher price tag. However, the value is undeniable, with generous portions and flavor profiles that are simply outstanding. I indulged in their Cobb salad with fried chicken, and it was a masterpiece – the chicken was perfectly crispy, and the salad was incredibly fresh. The 'jumbo' shrimp lived up to its name, proving to be exceptionally large and flavorful. Even their mocktails were a delightful surprise, offering a refreshing and well-crafted alternative to alcoholic beverages. Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. Our waiter was consistently courteous and timely, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable meal. The atmosphere itself was warm and comforting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying dining experience. While the prices might be a touch steep, the quality and quantity of the food, combined with the excellent service and ambiance, make Pappadeaux a worthwhile splurge.
Although the restaurant was packed on a Saturday afternoon, we were on the waiting list no more than 15 mins before we were seated. Our waiter (Michael) was a delight. He knew the menu so well and provided suggestions for appetizers/meals with such convincing descriptions. He made our dining experience memorable and enjoyable. From the appetizers to desserts, oh my goodness! However, prices are on the high side but very well worth it. This has nothing to do with the meal, but speaks volumes about the employees. Shame on me, but I walked out without my credit card and immediately called the restaurant when I realized this. They assured me my card would be placed in a safe until I returned. The next day I did and the restaurant manger personally came out to hand it to me. I was not only impressed with the service from the night before, but also the professionalism and positive attitudes of the employees.
We came on a Wednesday, had reserved for 8 PM. The online reservation system is very easy to use, has good follow up even when we were running late. When we arrived, we were seated immediately, but it took a bit before we saw our server since the dinner rush had just ended. After a few more minutes, we saw our very friendly server who started us off with drinks and appetizer orders…Gator bites and calamari & octopus. Then after a bit longer wait, we ordered our entrees. We finally received our food at 9pm, and had the Tagliatelle pasta with Shrimp, Crab and octopus, the Grilled Snapper plate and the Fried Seafood Platter. Food was ok, but most likely would not come back for just the seafood 🤭 Pasta sauce was nice, not a fan of the bare Snapper plate that should have had Chinese broccoli looking a bit more alive. The fried seafood platter tasted mid, the stuffed crab being the only one that was promising.
The only star deduction is for my error of ordering a combo with chicken strips at a seafood restaurant! Everything else, from the crab cake (unreal), French bread (ridiculous), and the Caesar salad (huge), to the key lime pie and praline brownie topped with Haagen-Das vanilla ice cream (stupidly good) AND the service (ask for Will at the Richardson location) were STELLAR.
Great food. Great service. This is your typical chain restaurant. Ordered shrimp and grits and my wife ordered the fish of the day. Both were cooked perfect. Great flavor. The only reason why I give this place four stars instead of five is because I think their food is a bit pricey.
Our waiter Joel made this a wonderful experience that didn't have a good first impression. With the rude people there when you come in, they just dont make you feel welcome. But Joel sure turned it around. He provided top-notch service without being overbearing. I had the Mardi Cras pasta, and my girlfriend had the salmon. It was all so good! I also chose a house salad, and my gf had some oysters. The house salad was huge and fresh! Everything was just wonderful, and there was so much food we had a lot left for lunch the next day. We wanted a drink before we ate and asked what a drink was that we had a picture of, Joel told us it was the Swamp Thing, so we shared one. It was..Great!! If not for the front staff, this would have been an easy 5-star experience
I had great company that I was with, I guess the service was a little different, but it wasn't too bad. The food was great and delicious. There's all kinds of different groups of people enjoying this type of food, and the parking lot was pretty much packed. Now if you drive up on this restaurant there's parking in the back and on the side. Plus, I'm love how they have security driving around because they want to make sure people cars are secure.
Shout out to the GM Todd and the staff member Trent! Very good guys. Had a So so experience with my server she did not set the bar very high but upon speaking with GM Todd he made me feel like my business was wanted. Very good leader in the establishment.
We had somewhat of a satisfactory experience last night, and while we don't have any significant complaints with the food, or atmosphere, we did encounter some difficulty in obtaining refills for water, iced tea, and other beverages. My sons were not offered refills for their sodas at all, and I had to request a one water refill multiple times (2-hour dining time), after others received a refill of their water. Despite these issues, I still provided a very generous tip to our server as we were a large party (12). It has been at least five years or more since I last dined at Pappadeaux, so it was somewhat disappointing to have to repeatedly ask for refills, particularly for water, which is typically a simple request. Additionally, I found the seafood gumbo to be quite watery and lacking in flavor. I am uncertain if I will return, as the nostalgic appeal for friends and family birthday dinners and gatherings that it once held 10 to 20 years ago has, in my opinion, diminished.
I need one of these in Virginia because this place was made for me! I love anything Cajun or creole and their menu hits the mark. I’ve been to New Orleans a bunch of times and this place compares pretty close to some of the cuisine I had there. For a Friday afternoon it was definitely busy. Our server Kim was great but we could definitely tell she was busy but she was very sweet and accommodating. Cons: - We didn’t get water before ordering our cocktails and receiving our appetizers, we had to ask for it ultimately - The marinara sauce served with the fried calamari and mozzarella bites was very chunky so it was hard to dip it. We had to do more of a scoop with the sauce - The fried calamari was a tad salty in my opinion & had fried artichokes pieces mixed in it Pros: - All of their staff had masks on and it appeared the restaurant was practicing other COVID protocols - Our appetizers and salads came out extremely fast - Everything tasted excellent! I picked at my friend’s food and wasn’t disappointed by a thing. The rice in my red beans and rice was cooked perfectly and I feel like I could taste the butter. - Value and portion sizes were perfect! I ordered calamari as an appetizer and my lunch portion of the sausage and shrimp dish was plentiful, I even had leftovers
We used to go to Pappadeaux more often before we moved away. Happy to visit again and indulge in our favorite dishes. Redfish Pontchartrain for husband and Mixed Seafood Grill for me. Delicious as usual. Service this time was disappointing though. Our server first forgot to bring us the bread, then forgot to put in my drink order, then forgot our request of a baked potato side. One star deducted. Would always recommend Pappadeaux.
Decent size meal, lots of seafood dishes to pick from, but Very expensive, The Live Lobster $31 per lb. It was a bit overcook. The fish plate was huge, but has too much sauce that you couldn't taste the fish. Over all its a nice restaurant, the wait was over an hour on a Friday night. The staff was very nice and friendly.
I was taken there Saturday for a Pre-Birthday Dinner. I had made Reservations but when I got there I was rudely told to wait by the Hostess she said they needed to clean a table. Our food was delicious as were the drinks, but the service was very slow and un-attentive. The atmosphere was nice and spacious. Family friendly. I don't know if I'll go back to this location.
Went day before Valentine’s with reservations. When arrived hostess had the nerve to offer me seating near bar in booths. I told her main seating area please. She said with a pushy tone no booths over there. Now why she thought I had to have a booth confused me. Many tables were open and they seated us near corner. Now tell me why in the world dining staff of 3 guys decided to sit behind us to do server reviews. They were loud and very unprofessional. They need to take that stuff into the back somewhere, not in dining area.Food was excellent and server was on point. $180 check for two and worth it.
The aesthetic is good. Our waiter was so kind, and he made us feel welcome. The lighting was good, and the tables are well spaced out. I like that there was enough parking. Now, I do wish it was located somewhere better, but that was not too much of an issue. Now, the food...my food was what I expected, and I enjoyed it...just enough. The fries were decent and I was filled up just enough. I was not a fan of the appetizer we chose (crab and spinach dip) and I was there waiting for more for my taste buds. The presentation felt as if the place was not sure what it wanted to be. Every employee was dressed sharp and the architecture and design was fancy on some level...but the food presentation was a bit different. Anyway, don't see myself returning. Seafood like this could be found almost anywhere.
I haven't been there since I lived in the Midwest the ingredients must have changed or recipes. The food I ate was good but not great like it use to be and my wife's wasn't good but edible for me once I took it home and doctored it up since she didn't want it. The roasted oysters was cheesed out more than oysters. By the way I had the red beans and rice, shrimp and sausage she had the Madi gra pasta. We shared the roasted oysters.
We’ve always enjoyed Pappadeaux, and the service is still exceptional. For 20 years the highlight of every meal (and my daughter’s main entree) has been the fried Gator, so we were extremely disappointed to find out they have changed the Gator recipe, and dropped the Creole sauce from the menu! My daughter’s staple meal is gone! We will have to find her a new place - 😭😭😭
Many of the dishes seem rushed. Often not being prepared as it stated on the menu. Also, Service was nice. Definitely somewhat incompetent at times. This franchise used to be solid as a rock. It’s unfortunate that either the management or the company has lost its way.
This is our local Pappadeaux and we have frequented this location for many years, but last night was one of worst experiences we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We arrived 25 minutes early for a 9:15p reservation on Saturday night; they closed at 10. We were seated almost immediately and thought the evening was off to a great start! We ordered a swamp thing and espresso martini immediately on sitting down as well as the crab and spinach dip. My partner asked about beers on draft, the server had to go check on those, and about 15 minutes later came back with the list. We would find out later that our initial drink and appetizer order were not put in until the beer order was also entered. He ordered a beer and we added the shrimp and crawfish fondue as a second appetizer. After we “officially” ordered our drinks and appetizers, we waited. Our server came out at one point to let us know that they were out of bread for the night, this was about 15 minutes after order was placed. Ok fine, we were now within an hour of closing cool. We still were not given the opportunity to order, we kept waiting. A different server brought some food to a table across from us, placed the tray on a rack next to us, looked directly at us and says this isn’t for you - he wasn’t joking lol not even in the delivery just straight up not yours. We already knew it wasn’t because it wasn’t we ordered but it was a weird way to interact with customers who had no drinks no bread and were just sitting there looking around. When our drinks came out, it was clear they had been ready for a minute as my frozen drink was melted and had a layer of ice on the outside of the glass, fine, at least we had drinks. We asked to order our main meals at this point, still no appetizers. We ordered the red snapper, the swordfish and the pasta. Sometime while we were waiting we got some surprise bread - yay! I guess they weren’t out after all. Our appetizers finally came around 9:35 about 45 minutes after we arrived. The food was delicious as expected. While we were finishing our appetizers, and about 40 minutes after we placed our food order, our server came out with a menu, they were out of the swordfish, they told us they would try to get us a rain check so we could get it the next time we came. This was frustrating as we had wanted to order two of these as it is a seasonal chef selection, but only ordered one, so quickly chose another entree, the filet oscar because I figured this should be easy and consistent, and it was now after 9:30 so quickly approaching closing and our entrees had not been started. I did sub the carrots and pistachios for the spinach - the server asked if I wanted the baked potato that came with it or another side I figured the potato would be easiest so just got the potato. Then we waited again. For 25 minutes. Our drinks were gone, appetizers were gone, we had empty glasses, finished plates, dirty dishes, and no place to even put our food when it eventually came out. We kept looking for our server - nothing. Wanted more drinks, couldn’t order. Saw the manager rushing around delivering food, so couldn’t speak with him, because he would then disappear. Tables around us who arrived after us were getting their food and drinks. The restaurant was basically empty by the time our entrees arrived after the restaurant officially closed at 10p. My daughter ordered one more martini since we had someone to order from. Pictures are posted. My partners red snapper was supposed to have almonds, there were no almonds. My daughter’s pasta had gelatinized after sitting under a heat lamp to the point she didn’t take a single bite but instead brought it home to “make it better”. My carrots had no pistachios and I was informed when my food arrived that they were out of baked potatoes lol The server asked if I wanted another side, I was like at this point no, how long would that have taken and they probably would’ve ran out of it while preparing it somehow. Server made comment they were embarrassed about everything that had gone wrong with the meal. But no rain check
I probably will not order from here again. My food seemed to shaken around as if it were a cocktail. Grease all over the outside of the box. The shrimp was okay. The fries were not tasty at all and they were cold. I am disappointed with Pappadeauxs take out. I would have gotten better presentation, flavor and pricing going somewhere in pleasant grove. I paid total $24.52 tip included. This is why I don’t like to prepay w/ tip. Anyway, I would choose wisely. Maybe it would have been better if I ate in the restaurant????
Really expensive food. They also charged $15.80 for the lemonade and refills for one person. He didn’t inform us that refills are for extra cost. We asked for easy on ice but it was full of ice. There was barely a lemonade.
Review is for service. Food quality is always good. I used to eat at the Papa's establishments in Houston and food quality and service was always great. When I got home my order was half portions and it used to come with bread. Usually the management would do something about such an oversight but Joe's response was more like, oh well, sorry.
I love Pappadeaux's, when we visit I always order the redfish pontchartrain. Service is great. The problem I want to express is that the food was delivered with a great presentation BUT COLD. This is unacceptable, the meal my wife ordered was also cold. I have come to express to the server that I would like my food served hot not warm, HOT. We ordered meals totaling over $100 and they can not serve it hot. WHY? To say less I opted to walk out.
On 10 Jan 26 wife and myself visited to celebrate our anniversary. Well I get my usually yet it was not usually. I got Alligator and red beans and rice and it was an expensive experience. Yall have lowered the portion yet raised the price. Then yall change the sauce that usually comes with the alligator. My dinner portion was like lunch and much as it cost it should have been more. Very disappointing because we have been coming there for the last 10 years for our anniversary
This review is for the hostess that was there on the night of December 29th 2025. I cannot speak for the other employees there on other nights, however, the hostess and her helper that night were very rude from the time me and my family entered until we walked out before even eating. We decided to leave, why stay when the initial interaction was so abysmal and the manager did not care to remedy the situation after I complained. I have eaten at this location before, multiple times. The hostess turned her back to me as i was speaking to her, I never raised my voice, and wanted to talk about seating options. I will not spend my money at places that refuse to acknowledge an issue and remedy it, until then, no Pappadeaux for me…..
We visited last night with family and were very disappointed with the service. Our server showed little sense of urgency, and our food arrived cold. While the food issue was addressed, after that we were repeatedly asked by our server and others nearby if we needed anything, yet no one ever returned with the requested items until we had already finished eating. It was clear we were unhappy, as the server apologized several times, but no manager ever came by to check on us or address the situation. In most restaurants, especially when there’s an issue with food, a manager will at least stop by the table. Unfortunately, that never happened. Overall, the experience did not meet the standards I expect from Pappadeaux and felt more comparable to a much lower-end dining experience.
