first time ordering here, got rec’d by a local to come here. great staff. ordered pickup on the phone and was easy. the women who work there are friendly and they have a designated section for pickup orders. ordered chicken fried rice. not oily or salty, chicken was plentiful and delicious. great food, and ill be returning again. $14.

Lisa, our server, was absolutely phenomenal—truly one in a million. Her warm, friendly personality and exceptional service made us feel genuinely special. She went above and beyond her duties, offering fantastic recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Her attentiveness and charm elevated the entire dining experience. I’d come back just to have Lisa serve us again—she’s simply adorable and amazing! Now, let’s talk about the food—outstanding! We ordered the jerk pork, mix chowmein and the house special white fried rice. OMGGG—each dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. Every bite was a taste of perfection. You can tell the kitchen puts love and authenticity into their cooking. The vibes were awesome—great service, amazing food, and a warm atmosphere. I can’t wait to return! My friends and I had dinner here last night and we had a great time! The food and service was amazing. Ryan, our server checked in on us and provided recommendations, he was so wonderful and very friendly. Highly recommend ordering the pepper shrimp, house special fried rice and shrimp wontons!

Excellent first time experiencing this new kind of fusion cuisine. I’ve had Chinese food from other countries before but this was the first time I ever had Guyanese style Chinese food, which was actually surprisingly refreshing, tasty and quite a bit different than the Chinese restaurants were used to here in the states. The style overall was much more subtly flavored with spices and had much less oil than we see in the American Chinese selections. The black pudding selection was amazing. I’ve had black pudding and Irish cuisine it was interesting to see it make its way into the Caribbean Chinese cuisine. They had a large selection of classic Caribbean rum drinks, all of which were really well-made really strong and extremely tasty. Overall this place is a high recommend. Instead of doing take away Chinese food one night try this place you will not be disappointed at all.

Food was good as usual, over price for can soda or water , charges gratuity on party of 4 even though I would have tip more than the gratuity but just on principle. I refuse for a restaurant to push this on party of 4. They have no price on drink menu and that’s how they stick it to you . Definitely reporting biggest scam alert.

I went here with my family for a birthday dinner. We really enjoy it here. I would definitely recommend you guys to check them out. 08/21/2024- ordered a chicken fried rice which was really good but the price was a little high just for a plain chicken fried rice compared to other spot I’ve been to.

Honestly the food here is like a 6/10 . If you want an honest opinion carribean cabana has better food . And the atmosphere here is okay their music selection is horrible . I’d probably never come back

The food is pretty good for the most part. But the prices for some items, are absurd. You cannot justify steadily increasing an item in $5- $10 increments while shrinking the portion size! The service is hit or miss. The woman who works at the counter (Tasha?)- could stand to be a bit kinder. Imagine we are coming from a funeral no less, and dealing with NY traffic (and the rain) and she calls with an attitude to let us know our food is there and waiting. She definitely seemed to know it was us who were walking in because she walked right away and let the young gentleman take care of us. He on the other hand, was quite nice (possibly to offset the woman’s attitude/ unfounded quarrel with us). The place could use some freshening up a bit as the dining area looks dated and dark. All in all, a bit disappointed and we are definitely going to be trying some other places since there are many offering a similar, if not the same, menu.

We casually dropped in as first time customers. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks. One of the drinks was very sour. The fry plantain was extremely hard. We also ordered a chicken noodle soup that is not pictured and it was literally chowmein in casreep water with some vegetables. I don’t think we will be returning back.

I love to visit this spot whenever I want to have a great time. The bartenders, especially Sam, are extremely friendly. However, I have had several unpleasant experiences with the owner, who can be rude and unapproachable. There have been times when I wanted to smoke a hookah, and the bartenders would move me to the lounge section due to licensing issues, as they explained. Despite initially approving my move to the lounge, the owner always seems to have a problem with me, particularly since I haven't purchased a bottle. The security staff and bartenders have advised me to ignore him, but I don't understand what his issue is; he always appears to be on edge for some unknown reason.

Extremely disappointing experience. Spent over $1,500 celebrating my grandmother’s birthday, expecting at least some appreciation or a simple gesture after such a big dinner. maybe a few shots on the house or at least decent service. Instead, the waitress helped herself to 6 shots and tucked them by the register, then proudly handed me a $300 bill Instead, the drinks that’s were water down lemon drops figure they would of been some tequila that we have been drinking all night! Totally unprofessional and disrespectful. Never going back, and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values honesty or good service. That’s straight-up shady and disrespectful. Never again. This place is a rip-off and completely unprofessional.

I think most people eat here because if you're Guyanese you recognize the name, the food here goes from mediocre to bad, for example today 06/15/25 I bought food from here and the lo-mein was burnt, looked burnt, smells burnt and tasted burnt, I'm sure they knew it was burnt before they sold it, but unfortunately most Guyanese food restaurants do not care about food quality, they'll do anything not to lose money.

I ordered take out and the lo-mein was white and the meat was not fully cooked. I would always recommend people to try their food and now I’m having regrets in recommend them to my family and friends. I ordered this food on Father’s Day for takeout for my father and family. We were all looking forward to their yummy food only to find out the food was undercooked. Staff was super unfriendly when I had call to say I messed up the order on Uber eats, I had ordered an order of roast duck and I clicked roast duck fried rice. The woman told me on the phone it is the same price but refused to switch it out for me and was ok with me paying the $60 cancellation fee. Awful customer service experience. The receptionist was very rude on the phone and was not willing to work with me and abruptly hung up the phone. Definitely will be on the lookout for another West Indian Chinese spot. Kaieteur, you really disappointed me, and we have been ordering from you for 15+ years. Also the food is very over priced. I ordered a house special fried rice, chicken, lo mein and roast duck fried rice and the total came out to $70 on Uber eats. Not worth it AT ALL.
