We came here for a graduation celebration, and were not disappointed. The restaurant has two levels, divided into several areas that are all charming and cozy. Everything we had, from appetizers, cocktails, entrees, and dessert, was outstanding in taste, and presentation. Our server was attentive and friendly, as was the staff. This place is a must visit when in Virginia!

My husband and I came here for our 5 year anniversary and had a fantastic experience! The server RJ was amazing, the food was wonderful, and the manager Justin was so kind and gave us a free dessert for our anniversary!! We will definitely be back.

We're traveling, on our way home from South Carolina where we spent the past week. I went online as we are staying overnight in Richmond, Virginia and I looked at all the restaurants this restaurant just spoke to me and we called and made a reservation. They did not disappoint. The chef is very creative and the flavors unique. We had a calamari that had a little bit of bite to it, but also some honey/sweetness. My husband had the best gnocchi I've ever had. It was tender and not chewy at all. I haven't had any steak in probably a month so I opted for the 6 ounce Fillet, which was perfectly pink sitting on an amount of mashed potatoes with asparagus, and each item was well cooked. Highly recommend. East Coast Provisions offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff is attentive without hovering, and the cozy vibe paired with a spacious bar makes it an excellent choice for a date. Cocktails are well crafted and thoughtfully balanced, and the food is both delicious and attractively plated. Prices are not inconsequential, but the quality and overall experience make it fair value for the money.

Yummy food!! Portions kinda small for me, but the taste was amazing! The calamari appetizer was delicious, and my shrimp po boy was great.

My wife and I just moved from Austin and were walking in Carytown when we noticed this place. They have a beautiful patio, but like several in the area it is somehow not dig-friendly...I'll never understand how in 2 weeks living here I could come across more than 10 small patios that will not allow dogs so if you're a local, stop pretending this town is dog friendly and color my Texan stars frustrated. It was busy, so it took a bit to get seated and served, but we were not in a hurry--everyone was friendly and pleasant. I missed a pic of our oysters, but they were enjoyable, though rather large and we never were told what locale from which they derived. The shaved octopus was the star of the show (a little less red pepper flake would perfect it), and the corn crab soup was tasty (a touch more crab meat lumped in would elevate this). The grouper tacos were great--finally a taco w a descently prepared tortilla, but they needed a little kick, perhaps w sliced jalapenos or something. The pommes aligot were tasty, but lacked that cheesey pull we expected. We bought a bottle of wine, too, and the wine list is something that could use a face lift. Overall, this is a great place to eat--atmosphere and vibe inside looked as pretty as outside--service was friendly, and the food was good. The happy hour menu looks very attractive. We'll be back to try more things as the menu is quite extensive. 4 stars for now, but tweaks to the wine menu, reconsidering the outdoor no-pet policy, and perhaps us just n finding some hidden gems on the menu will bump this to 5.

After choosing between many of the different seafood “restaurants” in the area I’m happy we ended up choosing ECP for our meal!The staff was nice the place was clean and the food was on point ! #fromnorfolkwlove

Came here with family. My mom is notoriously difficult to serve, and the waiter did just ok with her. Somewhat condescending, but I would probably be the same way in the same situation. The food was decent, oysters were good as an app. I got the steak frite for dinner. I was served cold fries with the steak. My mom’s fries were cold and she sent them back. When fries were sent back, server took whole plate from her for 8-10 minutes while fries were made fresh. This is disrespectful to who was waiting as everyone else has their food. I’d leave sandwich and get new fries made so we all don’t need to sit and wait. Overall, I think service was the weak point. I’d consider giving them another try, but I feel a little robbed for the price point.

We were so looking forward to a good seafood place. We were going for my boyfriend’s birthday and we just left wanting more. I do think the seafood was very fresh, but the flavors were not there. We could’ve gone to a good seafood market and cooked it at home. We go out to explore innovative, and things that are reach in our cooking level and all four of us just felt we wanted more. The tuna tacos were probably the best dish we had. Also the drinks were not that good. If you have mobility issues, make sure you asked to be put on the first floor. There was lots and lots of stairs in the room we were in was a little warm. We are still looking for a good seafood place doesn’t have to be fancy, but it Has to be tasty.

Not a great experience. Waiters were very inattentive. We kept trying to order things, and they'd walk away before we could say anything. The table was quite small, and they made no effort to clear things off or shift things around when they (finally) brought new dishes in. I asked if I could put something on an empty adjacent table to make room and was told no. Had to sit there holding it. When my friend put something on an empty adjacent table when the waiters weren't around, a waiter snapped at him when she came back and noticed. At one point I ordered a Melot off the by the glass menu and then had to listen to the waiter say how the only bottle was in the cellar and he had to walk really far to get it. That doesn't seem like my fault or something you should share with the customer. All told, a very young and very untrained staff which made for a kind of annoying experience. Food was all right, though. Feel bad for the chefs as they are doing their jobs.

I had a very disappointing experience at East Coast. After ordering the calamari, me and my friend became extremely sick with what appeared to be food poisoning. I was completely out of commission for three days. It was a miserable experience and incredibly concerning. Unfortunately, the service only made things worse. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout our visit.Between the serious illness and the lack of basic customer service, I cannot recommend dining here. I strongly suggest others consider this before choosing to eat at East Coast.
