This is my favorite authentic Mexican food restaurant of all time. The food is absolutely amazing. My go-to order is the asada tacos with cilantro, onions and cheese. But I have never had one thing off their menu that isn’t delicious. Their salsa bar is great, and each option has tons of flavor. It’s hard not to fill up on chips and salsa before your food arrives. Every time we go there it is a treat. The family is so nice and it’s always great to visit with them. If I could give them more than 5 Stars I would.
The restaurant was cute and we instantly got seated and served. We got the taco salad and Mexican burger and it was absolutely delicious. Each came with a mini muffin for dessert as well.
Update: we went for valentine 2023 and they have heart shape red colour nachos and strawberry We came here for 69 birthday of my friend and I asked Ailoni for a birthday cake but instead she came with the owner father to sing happy birthday for my friend. Such a beautiful surprise. Ailoni is best server.
Good food great service and price is ok
Super delicious tacos. Open for dine in. I normally get the fish tacos but today I tried the chicken and Carne asada. 2 of each was to much for me even though I was hungry. Chips and salsa are perfect too... Highly recommend Bernadinos both in Ridgecrest and Inyokern.
Awesome food...delicious lintle soup. Excellent service...Authentic
Exceptional authentic Mexican food. Their chips and salsa are amazing and their huevos rancheros is the best I've ever eaten. Not too mention they have terrific customer service. By far and away the best Mexican food in Ridgecrest!

Friendly and helpful staff. Interior is kitschy and cool, just what I would expect. We went on the off hours and there was still people there, good sign. We ordered a couple of burritos and tacos and everyone loved it. Flavours so good. The complimentary salsa was some of the best we’ve ever had. It had a perfect heat and a nice pepper flavour. Reasonable pricing as well.
I had never eaten breakfast here and met a friend for breakfast. Had a senior #2. I was very impressed with my biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. Perfect! I noticed how accomodating the place was with my friend's kids and their meals too. Never thought of this place as a breakfast place but I will be back!
The food and service is great! Never dined in but atmosphere has been pleasant when I pick up my food. This is the only place in town in which I know I don't have to check my order before leaving the restaurant. My wife must be cursed because her orders are always wrong, but Bernardinos always gets it right! Our go-to's are the macho burrito, carnitas plate, chilaquiles, enchiladas, and tostada.
Taqueria Bernardino’s has been a staple in Ridgecrest for as long as I can remember. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it’s one of those rare places that still feels just as good now as it did back then. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s part of the community. The food is always solid. Whether it’s the carne asada burrito, street tacos, or a plate of enchiladas, everything is packed with flavor and made fresh. Their salsa bar is always stocked, and the portions are generous without being over the top. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. What really makes this place special, though, is the atmosphere. It’s super family-friendly, relaxed, and welcoming. The staff treats you like they’ve known you for years—even if it’s your first time walking in. It’s the kind of spot where families gather after games, or people meet up for a casual lunch and good conversation. In a town where a lot of places come and go, Bernardino’s has stayed consistent—and that says a lot. Easily one of my favorite spots in Ridgecrest, and I’ll keep coming back for years to come.
Great food. It's not a fancy place but clean, well established, local favorite. I had the pozole soup which wasn't on the menu. By far, the most loaded up pozole soup with a side of diced onions, cilantro, 2 slices of fresh avocado, a side of pork grinds (that's a new pozole side for me), lemon. The pork was not fatty but 100% tender and lots of it. You have a choice of red or white broth if which I got the red sauce. Fantastic! I will certainly come back.

Good food, like the Hispanic decor. Wish it was easier to drive to. It's right next to a gas station and the traffic can be a problem.

This place has good potential. I love the ducks. It's a big park with lots of trees and walk paths. Could be a beautiful scenery, but the debris takes away from the site.
Food is delicious! Ambiance is great. I was just surprised at getting home to find that I was charged a 9.25% tax. Is a restaurant tax higher?

The good: We went there on a Friday night and it was busy with both dine in and take out orders. Everyone seemed to know each other. It has a very friendly neighborhood feel. The con: The timing for the food was off. 2 dishes came out first. The 3rd one came out close to 10 minutes later and they forgot the 4th order. The young lady finally checked with the kitchen and I saw them rushing the order. The 4th dish came out when the rest of us were done with our dishes. We ordered taco plates and they were fine. Not stellar but not bad. The beans tasted a little salty.

The food is pretty bland for Mexican food. It just feels and taste like a white mans version of authentic Mexican. It’s not Tex-Mex either. Not bad for a quick lunch, but definitely not my first choice in town. The service and the people are wonderful though

It was edible. It was slow. It was expensive as far as Mexican food goes. The Al Pastor was not very flavorful. The chicken was overcooked. Edit: Gave it another shot. This tiny amount of ceviche is $17?

This place was recommended to us after a memorial service. I ordered the carne asada with a cheese enchilada. My food was particularly spicy for just being carne asada and cheese enchilada. I am not a spicy person. I must say that there were no descriptions on the menu. I knew what this item was because I asked about it. But when I asked this is the only description we received. I was unable to finish it. Enchilada seemed really good when I kept scraping the top off. The carne asada was pre-cut into diced squares. I wasn't too thrilled about that. The beans were really good and because of the spiciness I just never got to my rice. The service was very friendly. The only drawback is that there's no clear direction if you order at the counter or at the table. They did come to the table and bring us menus. When we asked for the checks, the waitress stated she would be bringing them to us, but it seemed like she forgot. We finally had to go up to the counter and take care of it. The decor was ethnic, and the tables were all very clean. Overall, it was a lovely experience, but it would not be my first choice. Respectfully, my suggestions would be to update the menu with a description of the meals and to State whether they're spicy or not. As for payment options it would be great if they would have some direction as to where they would like you to pay at. With these updates I am certain they can get higher ratings.

Over 35 min for our food it came out one plate at a time more than 5 minutes apart, our garden salid was swimming in enchilada sauce, and both of our enchilada plates, tasted like the meat was going bad. Very slow unfriendly service and bad food! Will not go again.
