I was here for brunch. No wait at 1100am. It's a nice, clean place. Food is decent, standard Mexican food menu. I had the chilaquiles with chili verde and was satisfied. The salsa was very good. The service was very good. Our waiter was attentive and kept our mimosas filled! 4 stars for value. The price of the food was average$20, but the added $25 pp for bottomless mimosas was unusual, Imo. Other bottomless options were margaritas, bloody Mary's and other juice options for the champagne were pineapple and cranberry juice. The server added a bit of dry ice for a fun smokey effect!

Good food and good drinks. Salsa and Gauq was fire.🔥 Shrimp cocktail was on point. Waitress was really nice and helpful. Friday night had a party vibe. Good music. Couldn’t ask for more. Thx for the hospitality.

Went for the happy hour. Margaritas were delicious and very affordable. Their happy hour food menu was pretty affordable. Highly recommend.

Molcajete was amazing. Highly recommend. Had to go to the bar to get drink refill. Had to go to bar to get limes. Waitress was MIA. NOTE- If you ask for chip refills, they charge you. Have never been to a Mexican restaurant that does that -- if you pay with credit card, they pass on that fee to you too

We came on a Monday afternoon. Plenty of parking but the front door was a little tricky to find because it doesn't face the street. Just like other reviewers have said, the music in the bar is too loud. So loud that you have to talk into the person's ear for them to hear you. We were seated in the dining area though where it was qulet. The green and brown chips and salsa were very good and the service was great. The food took some time to come but it was worth it. The carnitas were tender and well seasoned. The beans were the standout on my plate, creamy and delicious I could have just eaten a bowl. We'll be back, maybe next time for dinner.

Very good service on Wed lunch time, old world ambience, good food, good chips and salsa, clean, Music too loud though. There was $1.50 charge for using credit card, $1.50 for a small scoop of sour cream.

Restaurant location is good. Plenty of parking, with seating indoor or outside patio. Those looking for AC and away from the train should opt for indoor. Food presentations were easy on the eyes and flavoring was good. Our party enjoyed the complimentary chips, but the salsa was too running and lack flavor. The star of the show are the margaritas and service. The drinks were strong and flavor were excellent! Went really well with a hot muggy afternoon.

We were sat down we were not offered water, chips salsa for ar least 15 minutes. Another couple was sat down after us and was given chips and salsa after they were sat. We had to ask for ours. It still took another 15 minutes before they asked for our orders. Food was decent. Portion for the chili colorado was ridiculous for the price expected more meat in it. Serer was nice and polite but the time it took to be serviced was not good at all.

Would not recommend! Waited for over an hour for our food that came to us cold. Got food that wasn't mine. Music is WAY too loud, cant even conversate or hear the waitress. No one came to check on us or refill our drinks the entire time. Never told us they had no rice so we werent even served our entire meal. Just brought us beans without explaining they were out when we ordered. Worst experience ever!!

First time here thought we would try it for lunch wasn’t very busy, but the food was terrible. Started with salsa has no flavor No salt very bland. Secondly, ordered the guacamole. Same exact thing ordered a shrimp cocktail was eating shells and avocado pits not happy at all. Beans and rice were not flavored. Very disappointed on my wallet enchiladas on my the cheese not melted so therefore it was not hot not happy and will not return to this establishment specially for the price we paid

OH GOSH! WHERE DO I START!!! I booked this place for a holiday dinner party. I chose El Patron after looking at the variety of plates they had on their menu (BOY was I wrong!) I called and asked if they can accommodate a party of 20 and have our own room after being told yes, I agreed to make a reservation for 7pm, I was also told we would have our own restroom. THAT was a lie! They required a $300 reservation, which was only to hold the spot, complete understandable! I complied. They asked if I would want buffet style or a la carte. (I don't even know at this point which one would have been better!) My boss shows up to open the tabs about 40 min early. The very UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE manager tells him we are not allowed the room until 7!!! When all he was trying to do was put a card down. Place was empty but that could have been because of a Thursday but didn't really pick up the entire night! (that should've told me something) Private room was upstairs, and restroom was downstairs which was not as promised! Seating arrangement was totally WRONG for a gathering. Some of my guests had their back to each other which was totally uncomfortable and awkward!! For 20 guests, we only had 1 waiter which that ABSOLUTELY did not workout at ALL! Keep reading so you can see why! Drinks were taken first, a guest of mine asked if they had a certain spirit she said yes, then came back minutes later to say they don't! Waiter went ahead with getting all our orders I even asked where exactly would be best for her to start so it was easier for her when plates came out, she then took orders, after about 10 minutes she returns to tell me they are OUT of a certain plate in which multiple people had ordered!! We then picked the alternative; they were cuts which were all cooked per guests requests and sides chosen per guests wants as well! All our plates were mixed up because they were brought out by other waiters when one of my guests politely explained that was not her plate because she chose all of one side. This new waiter rudely tells the guest "We don't do just one side!" only to find out minutes later her plate came out and was given to someone else! PRECISELY why I asked our waiter how exactly she wanted to take orders in the beginning, SO this wouldn't happen! Food had no flavor! But that's a hit and miss trying a new spot. Then some of our guests were ordering beer buckets. After ordering another bucket she then comes back minutes later to say they are out of that beer! It was a total fiasco! Wrapping up the night I asked for tab she then comes to tell me the reservation was only for 2 hours and I would have to be charged for the additional hours! I was NEVER told this and on top of all the mishaps they still wanted to throw this charge after going back and forth with the poor waiter because the manager was NOT there! And there was no other supervisor of any on site! BTW additional hours were 150 per hour! Safe to say, this is place IS NOT prepared for corporate events and probably not for general public either-that being that food runs out and drinks as well! Will not be returning or recommending!

Worst Mexican Food Experience in Riverside – Avoid at All Costs! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at El Patron in Riverside was beyond disappointing. The food took an outrageous 45 minutes to arrive after I ordered, and when my party showed up and placed their orders, theirs was just as delayed. When the food finally came, the quality was absolutely terrible – bland, poorly prepared, and definitely not worth the wait. On top of that, the prices are ridiculously high for what you get. To make matters worse, the atmosphere was nothing like a restaurant – they had blaring music like it was a nightclub, making it nearly impossible to enjoy any conversation. This is hands down the worst place I’ve ever eaten Mexican food. I would not recommend it to anyone. There are far better spots in Riverside that respect your time, your money, and your taste buds.
