We enjoyed the Godfather’s Flatbread and house salad. The flatbread was big enough for 2 person. Fast and friendly service.
Travis is a excellent bartender as soon as we approached the bar we were acknowledged are drinks came to us with in seconds it seemed like. The pizza was to die Matt got you I promise he killed it. Hey 202 social house we will be back me and my honey come down about 5-6 times in a year and here is where we want to be. Travis is so attentive and it’s basically a full house god bless him!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality we love you…………..😌😁😁😁😁😁😁 Brett you Dah GOAT
First time there and we were very pleased with our food and service. They have a great bourbon ans wine list and many bottle and on tap brews.
Food beyond expectation! Not many causal dining / sport bar places offer an extensive menu. We ordered chicken marsala and flatbread pizza. Unlike others I have tried, there is an actual modest taste of marsala wine. The chicken breast was crunchy on the outside but succulent on the inside. As for the pizza, the combination of barbeque sauce, pulled pork and bacon bites formed a unique chemistry that is still vivid to me today. Service was great, food was served fast and there was also live music, which is a plus.
Best dog friendly spot in downtown Roanoke!
Went with a friend, we had great food and mixed drinks. The employees were friendly and helpful. The food was out quickly too.
Absolutely delicious food, chill sporty atmosphere, reasonable prices, and good service! I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend eating here.
This restaurant has a really nice location and a great atmosphere it’s a fun spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. When we arrived, the hostess came off a little rude, which wasn’t the best first impression, but thankfully our waitress was super friendly and helped turn things around. My kids ordered the mac and cheese. I tried a bite and thought it was really good, but the kids weren’t quite as excited about it. My husband had the Sunrise American Burger and loved it the egg was cooked perfectly and added great flavor. I got the Social House Smash Burger, and it was delicious! The bacon was definitely the best part. The fries, though, were my personal favorite crispy, seasoned just right, and a great portion size. Overall, despite a bit of a rocky start, the food and service from our waitress made it a good experience. We'd come back!
I though this place had a nice vibe. The music was cool, the place had a lot of tvs to watch the games, food was good, and service was decent. I had the fish and chips and it was very good. For this little town, it would definitely be a place I'd frequent if I lived there. Service was a little slow, but it was crowded and looked like they could use a few more staff. I will say the waiter had a good attitude, was friendly, and very accommodating.
We wanted a nice, casual place to eat outside. We chose this restaurant, due to the great location and the outdoor seating. You can choose to sit inside as well. I can't say enough about the food here. Honestly, I think it was the most well prepared meal that I've had in years. I chose fish, which was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. Service was fast and super friendly. Pricing is very reasonable. Overall, great experience. I will definitely come back here to eat in the future. (5/26/22 reservations for 4:30 p.m.) True to my word, I came back! This was really the first day without rain this week. I really wanted to take advantage of the sun. I made reservations online, was seated promptly, at an outdoor table. I truly like the menu here. You can go from a fancy grilled cheese, all the way up to different steak and seafood. I would say it's an upscale but casual place. "Business casual" dress. It was hard to make a decision when everything sounded so good. I actually got the same as last time, fish and chips. Again, food was great! Service was good, friendly. I'm making this a regular stop! *** Don't forget to hit the like button if I've helped. Thanks!
Super good service and food. Our waitress was always making sure we had what we needed and always kept our drinks full. The upstairs turns into a great party area that has a bar, dance floor, and bathroom, and you can access it from the steps or an elevator. All the food was really good along with the mixed drinks.
Food was amazing. We got the loaded grilled cheese with tomato basil soup. And the buffalo chicken dip. Everything came out quick and hot! Our server Anthony was great. Very attentive and nice. Cocktails were perfect too. Great experience, we will be back next time we are in Roanoke.
We stopped in for a mid day snack and drinks. We got the bowl of chili and vegetable quesadilla. The chili very thick and meaty and the jalapeño was a good touch. A little bit of sour cream would have made it better (I stole some from the quesadilla plate). The quesadilla was very flavorful filled with a lot of vegetables. We got a 22 ounce IPA for 7.50, so that was pretty good for a restaurant downtown I think.
I was there yesterday evening with some couple of teammates from the company. And it was definitely a very nice and memorable visit! We did have a great time and food was really delicious! I had a filet steak serged with mashed potatoes and broccoli. And the steak was just perfectly done - exactly the way I wanted it. It was medium-rare and was so tender and juicy... really fabulous piece of beef!!! 🥩😋👌🏻 And I also need to say that the service was incredible. The blonde waitress, that tok care of us yesterday, was so friendly, cute and polite - just awesome!! Can't remember her name, but you know who you are!😊 THANK YOU!!👏🏻👏🏻 So yeah, it was a very nice spot to hang out with friends, have some beer and steak!! 🥩🍻🍻👍🏻 Really worth visiting and I absolutely recommend it. 😎👍🏻 I was tonight once again at this restaurant snd yet again had a terrific, excellent, delicious and tender filet! It was just an amazing steak!!🔥🥩😊👍🏻
My wife and I rented out their back room for our first company Christmas party. The pricing was very good, all the food was great and staff were even better! Hopefully as we grow we can continue to do events here for our staff because they all really enjoyed it. Thank you guys for making our first Christmas event awesome and something special!
Very pleased with our experience. The hostess and our waiter did an excellent job. The food and beverages were awesome. The prices are reasonable and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. I highly encourage everyone to visit.
The couples from my church(Family Life) had an outing here and we had a great time. The food was great and so was the service. I got the Mushroom Gorgonzola Smash Burger which was extremely good, and my wife had the Chop House Smash Burger.
The atmosphere was pretty casual but also a little classy. I got the pretzel appetizer and it was fantastic. The whiskey sours were a hit with everyone in our 7 person party. I got the god father flatbread and it was great but way big. Definitely a share with another person meal. The rest of the group mostly got the hokie bird sandwich. Everyone loved it. The waitress was super nice. I even came back later that day to bring some of those pretzel appetizers to the room for some partying at the hotel and she remembered us and help expedite our order. Overall cool place, and I would recommend trying it out.
Really enjoyed our visit! Food was excellent, so was our server. Only down fall was the temperature of the dining room. We went when it was cold outside and was seated in an area that had a draft evertime the door opened.
We were some of the first people in, early lunch time, the server was very nice and funny. The Hokie Bird, which is a fried chicken sandwich with their own signature sauce plus coleslaw and pickles, was delicious. The sauce was very sweet and tangy, reminiscent of BBQ sauce but with just a little bit of heat. The fries were just crispy enough and not soggy, and had excellent seasoning. The music was top notch, not too loud, and the TVs had sports all around. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for good sports bar food and a good atmosphere.
First time here, good was excellent and came out fairly quick, considering how busy they were.. The craft beer menu was okish, small selection, but there was two really good choices in there.
In the front door, down the hall, past the restrooms, past the kitchen and through the phone booth. The best kept secret. Delicious food, drinks and amazing service. Thank you Charlotte!
The service here is amazing! Our waiter was very attentive and made some great wine and food suggestions. I had the bourbon salmon which was very flavorful but a little dry. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were perfect and my guest enjoyed his filet. The restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Roanoke and we were told it’s the place to be on the weekend for nightlife. I’d definitely come back and try one of their highly recommended flatbreads next time.
Excellent stipend for drinks or food. I ordered a chocolate expresso martini (not on menu) the bartender did a fantastic job!! Highly recommend!! Food was fast hot and fantastic. Server was awesome
I came into 202 Social House following my girlfriend’s birthday dinner. I was immediately met with service and got the perfect drink. As the night went on, the bartender, Andrew, went out of his way to give me amazing service. We got a tour of the speakeasy and ended up ordering some amazing bourbon. Andrew also invited me to the speakeasy nights they have on Thursdays. Mara gave us the most amazing shooter: the blueberry pancake, it tastes exactly how it sounds. Mara and Andrew crafted us multiple cocktails that blew us away. These two bartenders went out of their way to give us the most amazing bar experience I have had in so long. I went to talk to the manager Shaun about our amazing experience and was greeted with the same energy the bartenders gave us. Overall this place is filled with hard working wonderful people. I highly recommend Andrew and Mara at the bar and Shaun is the best manager I can tell he makes the gears turn.
Traditional american upscale fare with some twists. Pretzels are fabulous! If you get the fried green beans, share, too much for one.
The service is great, wait staff friendly and attentive. Limited street parking given the location of Campbell and Market Street, I suggest using one of the convenient parking lots or garages. Great location for people watching, as well to boutique shopping on Market Street. Large screen TV'S inside for sport fans.
We've eaten here 3 times; the food & drinks are terrific! There are 3 eating areas; inside sports bar, outdoor patio and a neat "speakeasy" bar on the rear of the establishment. Highly recommended to visit here. Parking garage is just a few minutes walk.
Hosted an event at this venue this week. I'm taking a star away because the restaurant coordinator helping to put it together wasn't the most cooperative nor responsive which almost made me choose another venue. However, once on site the staff was awesome. They were super friendly and attentive. The food was good and my group enjoyed the drinks. Also, the space is the perfect atmosphere for hosting an event.
This place was very reasonably priced and the burgers were great. Great place to watch a football game. There are TV's everywhere. The service was metocre at best. Had to constantly ask the server to bring more ice and top off the waters. If the service was better I would give it 5 stars. It wasnt that crowded so I'm not sure what the issue was.
Excellent food and good service. We had House and Caesar salads and "the godfather" flatbread. The food was very well prepared and presented. The atmosphere was very nice with a large variety of televisions to choose from to watch sports, sports news, and other channels while eating. Server was attentive and returned several times to refill drinks and check on our meals. We dined during late lunch/ early dinner hours on a weekday so it was not very busy. The bar area looked very nice and well kept. Overall the dining area was very clean and well laid out for seating. We will definitely be returning when we are back in the area again. Photos are included with this review. Restrooms were fairly clean but they could have been a little cleaner considering the slow time we were there. Plenty of staff around not busy to tend to the restrooms to get them closer to the "spotless" state you find in really fine dining experiences.
Friendly employees, our waitress was very accommodating. Food is very expensive, and it's a long wait time when the order goes in to reach your table. I had the stuffed meatballs and linguini and I wasn't impressed on the taste. Meatballs flavor was breadcrumbs and I couldn't see or taste the cheese in the meatballs. Really didn't have a gravy, only chopped tomatoes and spices. The other meals that were ordered looked delicious and my daughter and grandchildren enjoyed it. I don't think I'll be back.
Had a big group & everyone was satisfied! I had the ultimate grilled cheese and boy was it cheesy. Good beer selection as well!
So I am giving this place 4 stars when I want to give it 3. The only reason why I am bumping it up is the customer service. That’s what saved it in the end. First time in town looking for a fun place to eat. The atmosphere is good. Liked the layout and fun fact they have a speakeasy in the back. The food was far from good. Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs (with an extra meatball). The sauce was interesting. Paste on top and very watery. Served not hot either. The taste of the meatballs were as if the ingredients were thrown in a bowl with no thought and added undercooked meat. I had them re heat it to see if it was a better taste but nothing changed. I will say, if I ever don’t like the food I will never raise a fit. I will just say yeah something seemed off and be done with it. The bar tender went out of his way to comp the meal and asked about what could have been done differently. That type of service is great to see and why I am giving it a higher rating. Overall ok experience maybe we just had an off night with the chef as well.
Cool sports bar in downtown that has a typical laid back atmosphere. Great options for beers. The chicken sandwich was top notch. A large party that was just the right thickness of breading and sauced up just right. It was sweet, tangy, and thick enough to stay on the chicken without dripping off. It came packed with a nice chunk of slaw and some pickles with a side of fries. Fries were crispy too, tasted fresh cut. Hands down, one excellent chicken Sammie! On the other hand, the margarita flat bread was lack luster. The dough was somewhat tasty.. Overall, however, it lacked flavor. Not a fan of sliced tomatoes on a marg pizza/flatbread. A good marg pizza has crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil, that’s it. Just bland and a bit disappointing. Service was great!
Came here for dinner with my cousin who recently moved to the area. When we arrived the place was packed, but we were surprised to learn of a speakeasy room and a wine room. We selected the speakeasy room and it wasnt too full, but people did start to fill it up as the night went on. The bartender was great and super helpful since it appeared that they were short staffed. We ordered the buffalo dip, sweet potato fries and the wings. The buffalo dip is a MUST. The sweet potato fries were a little too crisp for us, and the wings were average.
My wife and I stopped for lunch at 202 Social House while exploring downtown Roanoke with our little girl and dog. The outside balcony is dog friendly. Good service and food. I had the steak quesadillas and they were really good and my wife got the flatbread. Great location right in the market district for dining outside.
This was a good stop for us. We don't make it downtown often due to parking but when we do, we try something new. This was the case with the 202 Social House. It was a decent experience. The food was good, our server attentive. There was nothing there that particularly wowed me but it wasn't bad at all. Solid place to eat.
The only reason I'm giving 3 starts is the pretzel sticks were amazing. The beer was good, and service was great and the atmosphere was perfect on a warm sunny day. The burger; we got the sunrise burger on sourdough, and when it came out, the sourdough was dry, the burger was dead and I actually had to look for the burger when it showed up. The fries were typical seasoned fries. They made it right by taking it off our bill. Otherwise, our table mates had a flatbread pizza that smelled amazing and looked full and hearty. The tots also looked great! I wouldn't recommend the sunrise burger.
First time we went we had a great experience. Tonight 6/22 we sat without water or any service for 15 minutes and had to leave. I understand waiting for food but when it's 95° out I'd prioritize water for all guests!
This food really sucked for $60. The primevrib french dip was like frozen meat with too much added salt. (Arbys is much better) Nice restaurant menu said prime rib, thought ut would be top notch The chop house burger was dry and tough no flavor. The cheese for pretzels was some kind of cheap stuff. Including two drinks was $80 No way was this meal anywhere near $80 So disappointing Yuk
We were at Roanoke for couple days and found a spot that closes 11pm. This is more like bar food!!! Their chicken wings signature sauce was delicious and would recommend it to anyone. The flat breads were also good and very generous size to share with 4 people. We also had the tater tots appetizers that had some cheese sauce with bacon on top which to us described it as “the sodium bomb” totally salty and not recommended if you are health conscious. We also ordered cocktail (strawberry mule) which doesn’t taste like there was a vodka on it. We were pretty sure we were served with a mocktail instead (waste of money) Their kids juice was overpriced $4??? More expensive than the soda. Our server that night was extremely slow and awkward. We have to asked for our check twice before she actually printed it out. Overall, it was an okay experience.
We were sitting outside for over 15minutes before we had to go in and ask if someone was going to take our order. Once we got a waitress, she was really friendly and service improved. The food was mediocre. The water had little white floaties in it. Would I come back again? Probably not. There is a place down the road called Cellos if you’re looking for some great coffee and great service!!! Stopped by there earlier today and was not disappointed!
Listen, Before I begin : The first time I came here I had an excellent server, who actually talked with me, and he was really great, he made me and my group laugh, and its why we keep coming back. Every time we come back we ask to sit with him again, and we are told he's not in. I hope he wasn't fired because he's the only reason I keep coming back. I usually am not this kind of person, I always tip 25-30% on a tab, I serve tables myself, I know what it's like to have Karens and ridiculous customers. I am not normally this upset. Last night we had a HORRIBLE experience with the service, and we were there for about 3-4 hours. I didn't catch the name of the servers that took care of us. We were a party of 5, our friends came in before us initially. And there's a party to our side who is shouting, and yelling, Its hurting our ears, so my friend asks if we can move somewhere else, as they are being super loud, and we try to approach this very politely. This lady looks to be about in her 30s, she's got black hair and she kinda snorted and said "Well there's no room anywhere else!" we said that was fine, and we apologized for asking, she ran off, and brought us another server and with a kind of tone said that he was going to be taking care of us for the rest of the night. This server was nice, asked us if we wanted anything to drink so we ordered some alcohol and he came back with those quickly. After this, we probably waited 40-45 minutes for him to come back. We finally put in a food order, and we waited probably 45-50 minutes, and it didn't look all that busy in the restaurant. Really that was fine because me and my friends were still having a good time. When to food finally comes out, the food is super delicious but my friend was missing tomato soup, which was fine, and a quick fix. About an hour passes, We haven't been checked on in forever, no check in on if the food was good (luckily it was good food!), or refills. The server finally comes back around and gets us a couple refills on drinks, after which he ends up disappearing for probably another hour?? Which is fine, it was starting to get busier and we suspect that he was the bartender. We ended up noticing the server who had handed over the table to someone else, has been watching us at the host stand glaring at us, she ended up standing there watching us for a whole 10 minutes. Which is super uncomfortable, and rude. We had an enjoyable experience on our own, but we would have appreciated more attention, and less rudeness from that lady staff. We hope the next time we come back, there is less attitude.
We’re in from out of town. The hostess seemed unknowledgeable about the area or just uninterested. My food was cold. I had to send the chili back because it was literally ice cold (cheese on top was not melted, of course- cold and jalapenos raw). No one came to clear dishes and I finally stacked them up at the end of the table. We were there watching the 4:30 football game, so not that many games on. Someone changed the channel on the game with ONLY FIVE MINUTES LEFT IN THE FOURTH QUARTER! I had to find the ‘not so helpful hostess’ to change it back eventually. We made the best of it and still had fun, but I would not go back or recommend it.
Reserved the upstairs for a group for friends and the waiter was very nice and accommodated us very well! Drinks were from the bar so virtually anything was possible at a good price. Not too many Vegetarian options and the food wasn't really flavorful. If you enjoy pasta with heavy amounts of vegetables then I would recommend the Pasta Primavera. Otherwise, don't really bother.
Visited this location three times over the weekend of 06/27/2025. Two visits were enjoyable, but the third wasn’t as great. The food we had was good overall. Would I recommend it? Sure—everyone’s experience can be different.
I would like to Thank Jimmy the General Manager for resolving my first issue and doing his best to correct everything. Honest feedback back: Had dinner there some time in early January and due to the busy holiday crowd myself and partner were forgotten at the table. We literally sat there for almost an hour with no drinks after being sat. I got in contact with Jimmy instead of posting and reviewing. He invited us back because I have eaten there a few times and even the speak easy in the back. Nice place for date nights. 2nd Time: They had a table and waters set up. Great service from a younger black woman. Very attentive and we left her a nice tip. She was the only person last time who noticed we had been sitting the first time so she is very appreciated. The cocktails were fantastic!I wanna say the best margarita I’ve had in a while. With that being said….what is going on in the kitchen?? Chicken parm was burnt. Over covered with unmelted cheese and it was just not good. Noodles over sauced and drenched: very disappointed with the food. Overall it was very appreciated the redo and Jimmy took care of it all but honest feedback back something is just missing. Not the same place I visited last summer.
I came here for my birthday on a Wednesday and they sat us down and it took like 15+ minutes for someone to even come and ask if someone had helped us and she ended up being our waitress. We ordered the buffalo chicken dip which came out fast, but was very disappointed because it had absolutely no flavor. The entree dinner was okay, I got a steak with mac and cheese and smashed potatoes. The mac and cheese was cheesy, but again it had no flavor whatsoever. At the end, I told her it was my birthday and got the cheesecake and was charged for it; I thought most places either gave a free dessert or drink but apparently not here! Sucks because we had to wait so long to even get service too. The food is too overpriced for what you get. Wouldn’t recommend.
BIG RATS!!!! Run Away. I was visiting friends in the Noke Labor Day weekend and we went to this spot. I ordered my food and went to the bathroom and under the urinal I saw what looked like a bunch of paper, as I walked forward I saw a RAT the size of a kitten burrowing into the wall totally unbothered by my presence. I immediately felt sick, told the bartender to cancel my food, she told the manager and he was absolutely unbothered. They obviously know about this RAT!! I would imagine because there are more inside there. I still get sick to my stomach trying to go out for food because of the thought of seeing that!!! Dinner Beware!!
