Very clean inside and the location is perfect being in downtown and right next to the Hampton Hotel. The staff are nice and they got my drinks made correctly and fast.
It was very efficient in getting my Eggnog Latte.
This is my go-to Starbucks! The staff is awesome, and the drinks are always on point. I’m always amazed at how many customers they know by name or by their usual order. I had a little drink mix-up once, and they fixed it right away with no fuss. Excellent customer service every time!
I come in here sometimes for drinks, and I’ve always had a great experience. The staff are friendly and professional. Dexter is typically the barista that makes my drinks; I usually get a pumpkin spice chai and he’s made it perfect every time!
Met my bestfriend here and really enjoyed our time talking and they were very polite even when we stayed close to closing time. Great atmosphere very relaxing!
Number 1 favorite place to get my daily vanillabean or mocha frappé's they make the best damn frappé's in the world, keep up the hard work, your recipes are absolutely amazing 👏 🤩 👌 also they are very nice to me and my daughter October, they never showed me any disrespect they always greet us with a smile and a hi 👋🏻. Idk what her name is but there's a girl in there that really needs a promotion me and my daughter love her lots. 😊 food is amazing, bathrooms are high tech and offer cleanliness everyday, the products like cups and other stuff are absolutely adorable, and the atmosphere I'd give a 10 star so I'll do this instead ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ there's your ten stars 🌟
I always have a fantastic experience in here. The employees are wonderful and everything is clean and kept. With that being said this morning I witnessed the "manager" speak to her employees in a way I wouldn't even speak to my dogs. Lead by example. Those employees were working hard and being kind and there was no reason to come down on them IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS ESPECIALLY. DO BETTER!
Love that the baristas are always smiling and carrying on with each other! Love seeing when coworkers get along and have fun at their job!

The homeless downtown here are out of control. One came n the store trying to get the staff to give him food, then was going from one customer to another asking for money. Made me very uncomfortable. Makes me not want to revisit this location!! No fault of the staff.
4 times in a month they gave me the wrong size and charged me for the large. Starbucks has to go back to training people how make regular coffee. This nonsense of pumps and fake sweetners makes it worse. The CEO should be ashamed of how far this franchise fell
Be informed that the menu on the wall does not list prices for small drinks. You have to ask for that secretive inside information.
My husband and I were visiting from out of town (staying at the Hampton Inn next door, the day before Thanksgiving) and stopped in for coffees and a food order. While we were waiting and talking, an employee began cleaning the large table next to us and loudly dragged multiple chairs across the floor instead of lifting them. The noise was so intense we had to stop our conversation, and it gave me a headache. The same employee came over and, in a dismissive tone, asked if we had already ordered because they were closing in 10 minutes—even though the store was still crowded. We said yes, grabbed our drinks, and left. The whole interaction felt rushed and unwelcoming. I understand closing procedures, but basic courtesy matters: avoid ear-splitting chair dragging, communicate kindly, and maintain a calm environment. This location missed the mark on service and atmosphere.
I ordered a hazelnut iced shaken espresso and the person with blue hair was supposed to put salted caramel cream foam because I paid for it when I asked if they put any cold foam he had a horrible attitude and told me he did when I asked another lady she said it was probably the end of what he had.. I paid for it I should be getting what I ordered and I asked for a double and he must have put more espresso that I wanted. I normally have a great experience with this place but idk who this guy with blue hair came from because he sucks and needs to fix his attitude.
Let me start by saying I am a huge Starbucks fan! Today's experience was subpar! The barista (Makayla) was rude, unfriendly and uninformed of Starbucks policies. When I asked for my free refill, she refused and argued with me. She said, "Well, maybe that is at corporate stores." I filed a complaint with Starbucks, and received an apology and a credit. I hope the staff at this Starbucks location receives proper training on company policies and customer service. And to clarify, I asked for an iced coffee refill. My original drink was a shaken expresso. Starbucks policy states, "Customers may choose from the following, regardless of the original beverage, when requesting a refill of the same size: brewed coffee, iced coffee, iced tea." I have been to many Starbucks locations, and this is the first time I have had this problem. The other stores seem to understand their policies.
The first thing you should know is that this location is not a corporate store. Therefore, it does not have all the offerings of a corporate store. But the staff I encountered, while nice enough, was not very well trained to let you know that something was not available upfront. For example, I ordered a cinnamon coffee cake, which I did had to explain to the staff was the same as the classic coffee cake. They found it on their computer screen and put in the order only to find out they don’t have it available at that store. I had to ask for a sleeve for my coffee cup, which they apparently were only giving out upon request because they don’t have enough. A management issue. The staff was not particularly enthusiastic. One young lady seemed to be more interested in pointing out the fact that she still had a minute and 37 seconds left on her break. They did politely allow me to replace the coffee cake that they did not have with a comfortably priced item. They also offered to refund it. I was the only person in the store at the time. And it was still one of the slowest Starbucks experiences I’ve ever had.
The worst drink I have ever had made by Starbucks and I am far from picky. The barista was rude and unwelcoming. I stressed my concerns about my drink and they tried to make me pay for a new one. I get the same drink every time at Starbucks but this specific location could not get it right. I would give 0 stars if I could.
Worst cappuccino ever! I have been to many Starbucks and I was suprised how light the coffee was. When I started drinking it I realised there was next to no milk in it just large bubbles but no froth. Really disappointed! :(
Literally cannot make a drink right. Every time I ask for an iced drink they make it hot and vice versa. Should probably go to one of the half dozen coffee shops in the Downtown area. Would be cheaper too.
I am a regular customer that comes to Roanoke downtown location twice a week and probably spends between $40/50 and leave a tip. I am aware of Starbucks’ store policy when it comes to restroom use because of homelessness . This is the third occurrence that the baristas have been unpleasant and condescending when I asked for the code to the restroom. They put me through the Spanish Inquisition and doubt me that I’m a customer even when I’ve had several interactions through buying coffee or even sitting there for an hour at a time. Either he has the memory of a gold fish or just a bad attitude in general or maybe he doesn’t care. There were even other customers next to us who were perplexed why I got grilled. Funny thing is, we’ve seen homeless people using the restroom without buying anything. Ironically, it seems like Dakota also wrote a review here about himself. We have decided not to come here and switch for a much better atmosphere and service at Mill Mountain Grind in Salem.
