Opinions de Angelina's Rochester
We chose Angelina’s to celebrate our 6-year wedding anniversary, and it was the perfect decision. - Tuna Tartare: Presented in a deconstructed style, it was vibrant and full of flavor—an exciting start to the meal. - Short Rib: When the server brought a spoon, I knew it would be tender, and it truly was—moist, rich, and deeply flavorful. - Trout: Cooked beautifully and served in a way that surprised me, but the taste exceeded expectations. - Dessert: A carrot cake without nuts or raisins, which I appreciated. While I wished the cream topping had been a touch sweeter, the cake itself was delicious and a satisfying finish. What made the evening even more special was sharing the experience with friends we recommended that same night—they loved their entrees just as much. Angelina’s delivered a memorable dining experience, perfect for a celebration, and we left feeling grateful we chose this spot.
02.06.26, reservation at 6:00. They got their liquor license a couple of months ago, so we sat at the bar for drinks before dinner. Kim made a perfect (dry) dirty martini and an espresso martini; both excellent. Our waitress Jackie was friendly and resourceful. We shared the potato latkes with a herb and cream sauce for appetizer, and “the kitchen” sent us a very generous portion of breaded and fried green olives with aioli. For entrées, my husband had the burger with pork belly and I had the rigatoni in red sauce and stracciatella cheese, that we enjoyed very much. We have had dessert in the past, but last night we didn’t have any room for that. This is definitely a place for any occasion for a dinner for two or more.
A trendy corner spot in the center of Southwedge Neighborhood. The bar is in a separate space from the restaurant, but the atmosphere connects through music. The service was very friendly and attentive. The menu is very creative, and changes seasonally. The appetizer was hands down my favorite dish. My friend and I split the Spanish Goat Cheese dip, that came with fried crackers. It was unbelievable!! The chicken cutlet had incredible crunch, which the chicken was juicy. It’s one of the more straightforward traditional dishes for the less daring. The carbonara was rich, creamy, and very flavorful, with a creative spin. I highly recommend the ice tea.
In a market packed with excellent restaurants, Angelina's still manages to stand out as a cut above the rest! Do not hesitate to come in and experience their seasonal menu, that's crafted to encourage sharing (though you're not forced to!). The service was knowledgeable, unobtrusive, but still very attentive. Ambiance is warm and familiar, with fresh flowers on the table. Every dish our table of 3 tried was excellent, and we were blown away by the different tastes! Of note: gnudi were outstanding, as were the mushrooms. Many vegetarian options, some vegan, and a variety of gluten free, all well labeled. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, as it's on street, but it's worth it in the end! Please forgive the not clean plates in the pictures...I just couldn't help myself and started eating before I remembered to pull out my camera. That's how good it was!
We went to Angelina’s for dinner on Halloween night. Impeccable is how I would describe the experience. The drink menu was incredible, food was truly shareable with portion sizes that reflect the price. The carrots and the arancini are heavenly and not to be missed. I was so into the meal that I forgot to take photos, save one of the short rib! Go the Angelina’s!
loved it. ordered every single small dish and none of them disappointed. cocktail menu could use some work, but otherwise a great spot
What a welcome addition to the South Wedge scene. This space is indeed special, it’s been a number of different businesses throughout the years, but I have to say, this current setup is among the most beautiful. Really nice elevated space. Inside you’ll find a hands on owner, you’ll see there on a weekend night (Hi Bob! Super nice guy) and a staff that really makes you feel welcome and special. It was just a normal evening out, my husband and I wanted to try somewhere new, and this was perfect for a little date night. Food was excellent. Chicken Cutlet was plentiful in size and flavor. And I really appreciated the tastes of the Caesar salad. Feel reminiscent to a upscale restaurant in NYC, but not stuffy. In a few words? Refined and charming. Great work, Bob and staff. Overall a noteworthy experience. We will be back!
Angelina’s absolutely went above and beyond every one of our expectations. This was one of the best meals we’ve had. The crab dip was spectacular, great crab linguini, and the chicken special was probably the best chicken I’ve ever had. Will was such a warm and welcoming server. We truly enjoyed the time we spent here and will be returning soon.
Lovely little bistro type place, very welcoming atmosphere and not overly loud or filled with obnoxious hipsters. Excellent and innovative drinks menu, eclectic and well executed food menu . Very nice and eclectic selection of bistro type foods and outstanding desserts. Staff is very friendly, professional ,and competent . Prices are excellent for what you get ( a rarity these days) One of the best places in the South Wedge to have drinks and a meal in the South Wedge . Unlike many of the others it is fairly quiet and intimate . It is So refreshing to go out without going deaf and having to shout at your companions ! Recommended as a nice casual dining spot with great cocktails , superior spirits selection , excellent food without breaking the bank. Highly recommend!
Amazing drinks and service. They have multiple vegetarian meals as well. All that I tried so far have been excellent. Recommend the brussel sprouts!

Had a wonderful date night at Angelina’s with Kathryn as our server! She recommended the warm feta dip as an appetizer and made sure we had extra bread when needed, and was 100% right that we needed the caramel chocolate mousse cake to finish the meal. Angelina’s is a favorite go-to with great service and comforting elevated food.

We’ve been to Angelina’s a few times and the food has always been really good, and the menu is updated frequently so there’s always something new to try. I highly recommend the cacio pepe arancini. The service is always great too, we came for a birthday and they left a cute note :) It is a little on the pricey side but good for a special occasion.
It was an incredible experience at Angelina’s! I had reserved a table for one for my birthday and the staff and owner made me feel so welcomed and important. Every front staff member came up and personally wished me a happy birthday, gave me a complimentary Sauvignon blanc, and a personal birthday sign. Not to mention the amazing food! I ordered some frites(fries) that were outstanding, the chicken cutlet was made to perfection with a rich salad to pair with. You have to try Alanna’s secret garden mocktail it was so flavorful and amazing. And to top it all off my meal was paid for by a very sweet patron (I still think it was the owner). Only thing I regret is not getting to try the vanilla cake they had which sounded soo good. 10/10 experience and I most definitely will be coming back. I almost don’t want to tell anyone about this place how much of a hidden gem it is. But they’re too good to keep for myself.
My partner and I went to Angelina’s yesterday for the first time. The vibe was chill and welcoming. We ordered the garlic parm biscuits, miso carrots, and the chicken confit entree, all to share. The food was fantastic. Everything we ate had such great flavor and was cooked perfect. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because they’re still working out their liquor license to serve full cocktails, but they do have beer and wine, which worked. That being said, I will happily return soon. Edit: Went back, food was on point again, and they had their full liquor license, had to change my review to 5stars
Molly was our fabulous server, folks at the bar were also welcoming and friendly. Food was amazing! Lobster roll, octopus, oysters and tiramisu just awesome!!
The dinner was one of the best I ever had! There were four of us and we shared 3 starters and 3 entrees ... Cioppino filled with seafood, steak and fingerling potatoes, and the pappardelle were incredibly delicious! The staff was incredible and we had a great time!
Goes under the radar but easily in the running for best restaurant in Rochester. Been here maybe 5 times and every time I walk away not only satisfied but thoroughly impressed. Rotating seasonal menu always has new options and they are consistently excellent. Brunch is great too. Prices are below all of the other "high end" places in the city and they aren't loud or packed even on weekends.

I had my birthday dinner here with my girlfriends and what a treat this was, the staff went above and beyond to make it special for me. We had a happy birthday sign on the table as well as a round of shots for the table and a dessert that was beyond delicious. We agreed that our favorite thing on the menu was the braised short rib but a close second was the Gnudi, which really had this wow factor. I had been here before for an unforgettable brunch but sadly they stopped doing it, however I was still able to get the refried crackers that I had been dreaming about from my initial visit. The crackers came with the spanish goat cheese dip and they are the best thing I've ever had to dip into something - straight CRACK. Will 100% be back.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Rochester! Love that the menu updates to accommodate local food items in season. The food is always incredible and clearly cooked with care. The wait staff are very knowledgeable and are always able to answer any questions I have if there’s something on the menu I don’t recognize. You can really tell the people that work at this restaurant love what they do and enjoy working there. The drinks are always on point and absolutely delicious, too. I highly recommend this restaurant.
One thing I'll say - portions i thought were reasonable, bordering on generous (especially the bananas tiramisu dessert - we split one and still only ate half of it). Service was great, atmosphere was kind of like a night club with music playing, but not too loud - we thought the food was average at best, not outstanding - but decent. We also had drinks - I liked both the Moscato and the Banana Mai Tai.
Came here for a quick GNO with a friend and the place is so cute! Been meaning to come here for a while and it didn’t disappoint. There’s multiple options for seating throughout the restaurant, a clear and straightforward menu, a lovely wine list and GREAT food. It was very loud at times but it would die down quickly and unfortunately most of our fries were burnt. The ones that weren’t tasted great though! Our server was funny and attentive. Will be coming again! Would highly recommend the brussel sprouts!
This was my first time dining at Angelina’s. We had the miso carrots which were excellent. We ordered a margarita off the menu and a cosmopolitan which were both very good as well. For the entrees we ordered the short rib-incredibly tender, flavorful and a great sized portion. We also ordered the burger, this was good but not incredible. There were a lot of wet veggies on the burger that were kind of overwhelming and led to a soggy bun. To finish I ordered an espresso martini off the drink menu. This was not good at all in my opinion. I know most places put their own spin on espresso martinis, but this drink had a very strong black licorice/star anise flavor that was overwhelming, I couldn’t help but make a face after trying it. For a $14 cocktail this was disappointing. Overall, everything was very good and we will definitely return to try the spring/summer menu.
Food and service are great. Sides can arrive quickly, so let them know you'd like them as sides and not apps. Can get loud (and cold in the winter). Update: harshly noisy at busy times, so consider visiting at off-peak times.

It was our first time here. Zoe gave us great service, the biscuits and the chicken cutlet were our favorite dishes. The rigatoni was just ok, nothing special, and we weren't big fans of the cake. I will say the cake portions were massive, but the carrot cake especially was dense and very dry. Based on the steps Zoe and the manager took to ensure we enjoyed our experience, we will be back.
In general, the impressions were not the best, perhaps I need to visit again, as they say, give this place a second chance. Initially, I did not like the fact that when the restaurant was 30% full, we were seated next to a noisy group that literally shouted at the entire establishment, which was not entirely pleasant. The next thing was the water... We asked for just water, to which they did not say anything and brought bottled water, which is on the menu, immediately opened it and poured it into glasses. Then the waitress gave recommendations for espresso martini, said that we would like it and it was worth trying, but it turned out that they do not make it according to the classic recipe and we refused this cocktail. Korean spare ribs were overdried, the only thing that saved this evening was the special dish of the evening, seafood stew Cioppino. For this dish, all our wishes were taken into account and it is served with very tasty bread. I hope that this was just an accident, and not a pattern.
