Opinions de Osaka Sushi Rochester
Osaka Sushi has been my go-to place for AYCE sushi for a while now! Since their merge with Mogë Tee, I’ve been visiting here more often and I’m truly impressed by the service, the wonderful atmosphere and layout and how amazing their food and food selection is! The service here is great and very consistent; all of the staff are super helpful, patient, and VERY kind! If you have any questions they are great with clarifying, all which make the experience so wonderful! The atmosphere is quite nice, especially on less busier days. They have upbeat music playing, and TVs on all the time so it’s a very chill vibe for a casual dine-in lunch or a nice dinner spot! The food is AMAZING! Always flavorful, always so PRETTY! And their boba menu is amazing as well, I love their slushes so much! All of it really makes the AYCE experience worth it and a place I would always recommend to any sushi lover in Rochester! If you’re in the area, please take time to dine here, they don’t disappoint! Overall, I’m impressed, 5 stars, 10 out of 10 for me!
Whenever I crave sushi, this is my go-to place! The staff here are very nice, and always ready to help if I have any questions! When you walk in, the restaurant is very clean! Once you scan the QR code on the table, you can see everything they offer for lunch/dinner, and the new update lists all the foods and further description for rolls and other things found for all you can eat! The food is made very well and the presentation for each dish looks super impressive!! They recently merged with Moge Tee and I love getting their boba drinks too!! You can order them through the website, but if you sit down for all you can eat, the teas are 30% off! Thank you Osaka sushi staff for always being so kind and helpful! 100% I will keep coming back; my sister and I love this place!
This place was great. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. I had the all you can eat sushi lunch for 20 dollars. Everything tasted great and definitely got my moneys worth. I would definitely go back.
Been going a long time, they still have the best sushi rice in Rochester.
Best all you can eat in Rochester. Great food quality, staff, and price.
Lovely food! Make sure to come here for the all you can eat!
The food is always is amazing and employees are really nice 5 star definitely come in
Osaka Sushi is my favorite place to go to in Rochester for AYCE sushi!! The food tastes amazing and the staff are so nice!
Food is great and constantly good. The service is also great and the place is clean.
Amazing food and great service. The spider roll is very good.
Great food, service, and vibes! Staff are great and make things straightforward.
I have been coming here for the all-you-can-eat sushi for several years now and it never disappoints. Their specialty rolls are my favorite and I noticed how they've new things to the menus continuously over the years. Love how they keep it fresh! Recommend to any sushi-lover and a great date spot.
It was my first time visiting and I'm thoroughly impressed! The sushi was great! I will visit again.
I have been going to Osakas for quite some time. This specific location only in the last year because of where I live. The great part is that the food hasn't differed from one location to the next. I do love that I get fresh sushi rolls and food in an all you can eat platform. The price for dinner (about $25) is well worth it. Lunch menu is doesnt have as much things so I usually go for dinner. If you want good fresh sushi at a good price plus ALL YOU CAN EAT go here!!
The service is quick and the food is pretty good. Would definitely recommend coming hire. Especially in a large group
Great all you can eat. It's a bit slow. And they forgot a couple of the items I ordered but all food felt fresh. I'm coming back soon.
This is my date night spot with my husband. Reasonable prices, fresh food, endless options, kind service. What else can you ask for. I will say, they could upgrade their front desk area a bit, but if you can look past that, you are in for a great meal. Their specialty rolls are fantastic. I haven't had anything I didn't like. Their cooked rolls all the way down to sashimi taste great. I really like their udon noodles too! Try this place if you like sushi!
Great food, I went thinking it was only seafood, but it wasn't, and all the meat I got was sooo good
Some the best food I have ever eaten. Service was perfect! I can't wait to eat here again.
The food was amazing and our server did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend to my friends and family.
Amazing food but be careful you'll hate store made sushi because the food here is sooo good l can't see myself eating sushi that doesn't come from this place. The service was timely came around 3 minutes per round of food no food wasted, the music wasn't good but thats just radio, and preference. Will be back for my sushi fix
A huge variety of delicious food for what I feel is a very reasonable price and the staff are all attentive and friendly! :)
Genuinely incredible service, especially with a larger group. Food tastes immaculate, and I can’t stop eating the beef teriyaki.
The food comes out fresh. The calamari was seasoned really well. I will be coming back😊
The quality of sushi has gotten a lot better here. Food, in general, has gotten better. They have placed a strict rule about all waiting customers to be in the car and not in the restaurant, and I love this rule. It felt safe eating in this restaurant even though there are many people inside eating. As of now, they only serve an all-you-can-eat dinner menu. Also, there is a 75min time limit on all-you-can-eat, but the restaurant doesn't kick you out even if you overstayed eating. It's more about each customer being aware of customers waiting outside so that everyone can enjoy eating.
Best All You Can Eat Sushi Spot in the Rochester area. Fresh fish and a wide variety of roll options to choose from. Staff is welcoming and friendly.
The staff are so friendly and kind and they provided us with amazing service. Me and my college friends came after our exams and had an amazing time. The food was amazing and some of the best I’ve ever had. We all had such a good time
We come here all the time and Bin Bin is wonderful. Food is great with lots of vegetarian options. They even played happy birthday over the speaker for my friend and brought her a balloon.
Just had all you can eat. I forgot my jacket and, in the POURING rain, staff brought my jacket to my car without prompting. Such above and beyond service. I really like that jacket lol. Can’t thank them enough!
Such good food. They have a great variety of different types of food, everyone will walk away happy. The staff are friendly and helpful, and thoroughly fantastic at handling a large party.
Abosolutely fantastic. The staff were kind and helpful, the quality was quite good, especially for a 25$ all you can eat adult dinner. Of you ask them to surprise you, you won't be disappointed 😍 Please Note: due to covid-19, ONLY the dinner meal is all you can eat, all other meal times are á la carte.
My partner and I love this place. It’s our go-to for date night. The salmon belly is particularly delicious. The price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food available. I recommend ordering enough food at a time to give your server space to check on other tables. I find the equivalent of three rolls usually gives my server plenty of time! Very few misses here, ESPECIALLY for the price. It’s not difficult to eat your fill within the allotted time.
Favorite sushi place. All you can eat at a reasonable price. Good variety, but could use a bit more dessert and drink options. The menu needs to describe the rolls so you don't have to ask or search online for what one is before you order it. I avoid spicy food and found it annoying to have to question each roll. Also the music they play is very out of place at times and may offend some people. Other than that love this place.
Absolutely phenomenal! The food is excellent! The service is amazing! The staff is super kind. They accomodated our last minute change for seating, and treated us well!
This is Rochesters best all-you-can-eat sushi place. Very authentic, super friendly servers. Had Alaskan, Arctic, Dragon, and Delicious rolls. Food came quick and was very fresh. There is a little bit of a time limit on the all you can eat, but you can definitely walk out of there on a very full stomach.
The service was quick and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed a variety of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri.
The place is wonderful—clean, with delicious food. My 5-year-old son and I love coming here for sushi and noodles. Everything we’ve tried has been excellent, and the service is outstanding. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended!
Osaka sushi has consistently impressed me since I came here with my friends over 4 years ago. The waiters and waitresses are always checking up on their tables and they almost never get our orders wrong even when we put in 7 rolls and 5 appetizers at once. You just have to learn how much food you can eat at once so you dont get charged for having leftovers for takeout. This is the perfect place to go out with friends and family and try new sushi rolls and make a great experience.
Yummy food and friendly service. My group of 13 were able to be seated and our tummy's were filleddd. The a la carte is not bad for those with smaller stomachs (my friend really likes the oyako don), but I'm a big fan of the all you can eat.
This is my partner and I’s favorite restaurant! We have tried different AYCE sushi places but we still go back to this one all the time. Their calamari is my favorite! They have good variety of sushi — nigiri, rolls, handrolls and maki. They also started offering bubble tea on site. The service is good, we never have to wait more than a few minutes to get a table and the servers are friendly and attentive.
Absolutely love this place .. the customer service is excellent.. the is food is super fresh. The sushi is the best I ever tasted super fresh. It’s a hidden gem and the price is right for all the food you can consume. If you haven’t been here yet it must try live it recommended 10 out of 10.
I've tried all the restaurants nearby and wanted to try a new one. There were mixed reviews online, but I decided to give it a go—and it didn't disappoint! The service was great, the sushi rolls were delicious, and the sashimi was fresh. There were also various teriyaki appetizers to choose from, and the slightly sweet teppanyaki fried rice was amazing. I really don't get why some people left negative comments. It's definitely worth revisiting!
This place is great. The people who are comparing it to other places forget it’s AYCE and the price is reasonable. We went here for lunch. 20.99 a person - order whatever you want on the lunch menu. I’ve been here a few years ago and it was around 30 dollars but they took some things off for lunch. For instance you can no longer get just sashimi cuts at lunch. Check in at the front and they bring you to a table. The server will be over to get your drinks and then return with them with an iPad like thing to take your order. We got a hot sake and placed our order. Remember everything is per piece unless it’s a roll. We ordered 4 gyoza and 2 spring rolls and put in the rest of our order. We ordered some Nigiri, rolls, tempura sweet potato and shrimp, and my wife got soup. (See photos) The food comes out pretty quick for as busy as it is. The food is great - sure pieces can be smaller than at non AYCE places but you can just order more. I find the quality similar to a lot of other places at a much better price. Every time I’ve been here the staff is awesome and today was no exception. They return often enough to get you other items or place other orders for you. We enjoyed our lunch and have and would return again.

Great food and lots of it. Come here after a long night or on a lazy weekend to eat as much as you possibly can. Cheep lunch and reasonable dinner prices for very tasty Japanese food including favorites like the chicken teriyaki roll (that's right, roll) and gyoza that is to die for. The service there starts to run slow the more you order so make sure to get a big first round and always finish off with the icecream! Enjoy!! Edit: this place has gotten a lot more expensive recently (used to be $13 and is now $32 without tax and tip) but the quality has not improved. Not that it's bad but something to consider.
Phenomenal food only quam was its all you can eat sushi about 30 bucks a person and some how wound up paying like 105 by the end of it but still a pretty solid spot for a fun night out
We went for lunch at about noon but were told they are only doing dinner buffet, which was fine. The food was great, super filling. A little disappointed they use imitation crab but otherwise very good.
I absolutely loved this place. I went for the all you can eat lunch buffet it cost 13.95. Groups of 5 or more they charge 18% gratuity. And you have to eat everything you order or at least 95% of it otherwise they will charge you. I don't eat sushi, so I can't really speak to that. However, everyone I went with really enjoyed all the sushi they ordered. I ordered udom which was good I just didn't like the texture of the noodles. I also ordered fried rice and ALOT of shrimp tempura. Amazing! The portions are kid size portions which in my opinion is okay since everything is unlimited it allows you to try a lot of different things. Dinner is about $22.95. I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay that however, lunch is definitely worth it.
Updated a long with my review from 5 years ago. Very large amount of sushi and sashimi available on the menu. The buffet is all we get. Approx 30+$ per adult, prices go down with ages. Hands down the best sashimi I have had in Rochester. It is a unique atmosphere as well. Before ordering anything in abundance, ensure you just get one and try it first. This is not your normal buffet... you do NOT get out of your seat, everything is served to you via a waiter/waitress. They are quick! They use tech devices to order, so the order is promptly filled. The new menu is via a QR code now - no more paper menus. The reason for 4 stars is, not everything is amazing... Sashimi is, hands down the best. Sushi has no wasabi under the meat, so, was a turn off. Anything that is fried is slightly bland. Tried the tempura, it was good, until I tried the "brocolli" tempura ~ I recommend DO NOT TRY it. That way you won't waste it. There were some favorites on that menu that were absolutely amazing though, but to each his own... you might like what I didn't. My history: Lived in Japan from 1992 until 2013. Ate Japanese food at numerous locations throughout the country, and know a good meal presented. This place is economical, and filling. I will go back for more Sashimi!
This is still a fun place to go for sushi. We got the all you can eat and the rice was amazing and the sushi is very good. Our waiter was super nice. I haven't been here in a long time and it used to be my go-to sushi place. It has fallen a bit from what it once was, but it is still very good
AYCE sushi was phenomenal. They also have appetizers included in the menu to mix it up. You can add a la carte items as well. It was not busy for a Friday night. Ample parking in the lot. Restaurant is modern and aesthetically pleasing. Our huge order came out fast. Our server was very pleasant but there was a bit of a language barrier. She used an iPad for our orders, which I believe helps with speed of service. The squid is deep fried salt and pepper flavor. Crispy and one bite pieces. Deep fried scallops had a dollop of kewpie mayo on it. Crispy on the outside and moist inside. The Japanese eggplant was very tasty. There's an eel sauce on top of it. The skin is a bit tough but the flesh is soft and very meaty. Gyozas are deep fried and a favorite appetizer when available. Chicken teriyaki meal came with rice and a bed of sautéed Napa cabbage. Everything was cooked nicely and delicious. The eel roll with eek sauce was a favorite. Artic char roll was the number one roll for me. Crispy fried vermicelli noodles were wrapped with a rice paper summer roll wrapper and topped with artic char. The complex texture was such a pleasant party in my mouth. All other rolls were tasty but like any other sushi places. Highly recommend for sushi and can't wait to return!

the past few times, I’ve gotten headaches and nausea from the fish. It does not seem fresh/properly prepared. We went today and my boyfriend and I both felt very sick after eating the sushi.
I don’t think this establishment likes colored people I have been several times because the food is definitely good but the service that me and my table received vs the other tables(predominantly white) is not okay the waiters are rude shows irritation and is always rushing off never taking their time and just very impatient and has a ugly attitude towards us I watched how she interacted with the other tables very nice, calm, respectful smiling and great customer service. I won’t go back I pay the same as everyone else for my family to eat why can’t we receive the same service?
I went here with my boyfriend and his family. It's AYCE so we had a variety of things. There were only a few memorable pieces like the Philly Roll, smoked salmon Nigiri, Teriyaki Beef, Stir Fried…
Honestly, the food is very good! The space just didn't "feel" clean. Tables need table clothes or a new paint job, the place is dim. The space needs to catch up to the great food.
I’ve been coming here for years with my friends. We usually visit every other month or so and have always received great service. Sadly this all changed today. Our waitress, Eva ignored our table at times and once all together skipped my friend during ordering. We tried to get her attention but it seemed like she was purposefully ignoring us. We were able to order twice until she rudely threw the check on the table. We were very taken aback as we hadn’t even been there for an hour and it states clearly that you have a 90 minute dining period to order your food. It seemed like we were being treated poorly on purpose and we were very disappointed in the service. I understand everyone has their off days but to take it out on customers is unacceptable. We have never had an experience like this before and have eaten here over a dozen times. We love Osaka Sushi and want to come back for another meal as the food is delicious but this experience left a bad impression.
I went here after hearing and seeing mixed reviews with the goal to determine if this place was actually good, sadly I was disappointed. I have tried sushi from all over the country, even from states in the middle of the country and all of them were better than this. None of the food was horrendous but I didn’t want to go back for a second bite on any roll. I also noticed that there was a lot of staff but all but two seemed to be doing nothing. My waiter Han was good, he was very apologetic when I told him I found a piece of avocado stem in my roll and that I almost choked on it. Here is my break down of the food I ordered: Eel avocado roll- dry Valentine roll- not a lot of filling found avocado stem in it Amazing roll- thought they gave wrong roll, couldn’t even tell it had spicy tuna Volcano roll- LOTS of rice and cucumber, tempura is very oily Dragon roll- again tempura oily, slightly better rice to filling ratio. Barely any salmon. Massive pieces. Barely fit in mouth I can usually eat 35-50 pieces of sushi at ayce but this filled me up. And that’s probably a good thing because I wasn’t looking forward to anything else on the menu. I had such high hopes based on looking at the menu online and some of the pictures I saw but this was just a massive disappointment. I will also say their menu needs work, there should be a description for the special rolls included on the menu I shouldn’t have to look at the pictures previous customers took back when they had a physical menu. Overall: not worth the hype, it would be better to spend a bit more money and time going to Taste of Japan or to sushi585. I would not consider returning here unless serious changes were made.
On a holiday, they jack their lunch prices UP and offer NO veterans discount. Horrible example of community, business ethics and overall leadership integrity. All for fast food sushi.
this (profanity removed) was DEAD mad BOOF!!! Food was absolutely VILEEEEE!!!!! Service was literally insane, girl didn't know what answer to ANYYYY question. ambiance was mid, tables are mad worn,…
If zero stars were an option I would. The sake was watered down. They got our order wrong. My salmon roll was greasy. 2 people paid 110$ for two bud lights.
PLEASE go to the better rated AYCE sushi restaurants in the surrounding area for the same price that are not that far in proximity I used to live around an expensive area close to manhattan so I know expensive sushi AYCE, but even then they were cheaper than this joint and their rolls were more remarkable. I did research, and the dumpster places in NJ are more expensive to live in than Rochester, so why is this place charging California prices? If it were more affordable, I could get past the cost cutting to skimp on having no menus when I have no battery left, slow service, the clear nepotism choice of staff, the fish scale I found in my mouth which makes me question whether they're really getting sushi grade fish or fileting random fish from a grocery store, very thin slices of fish in comparison to other places I have mentioned, cutting sashimi pieces without rinsing your knife between preparations so I could smell the metallic fish scales off of certain types of sashimi, and feeling queasy afterwards. If there is any cost related reasons for any of this, maybe your parking lot would be fuller if your prices were fair
i was there on 3/22 during dinner service for my birthday….. first off the server was RUDE. she rushed us to pick what we wanted. then only came back around 2 more times during the whole TWO hours i’ve been there. when i tried getting her attention to order something she would look back and walk away. i didn’t even feel like i had a proper dinner . there were still plates at our table that were from the beginning of service. and u underneath the plates they give you there was food left over stuck to the plate from another table……i was unable to choose what i wanted because she barely came over……we all had waters and she didn’t even refill them. please if you want to celebrate your special day find another AYCE sushi place. the service here used to be good but now it’s rushed and horrible and i trusted them to make my birthday dinner enjoyable and i was highly disappointed. 200$ down the drain
This was my first visit here after recently going to East Izakaya in Victor I was happy to find a similar concept close to home. That’s where the happiness ends. We had all you can eat dinner. Seemed like a good price for everything included. Started with a green salad. Literally the least green iceberg I’ve ever seen, dressing was good but no veggies in the salad, literally just low quality lettuce and dressing. Next was Tamago, tasted like it was 5 days old. I didn’t eat it. Shrimp skewers, small shrimp unpeeled and unappetizing, beef skewers were tough and meat didn’t taste fresh. Next up a sushi. The spicy tuna on top of my spider roll was not edible. It was pungently fishy like it wasn’t fresh. Unfortunately the whole meal went on like this. I told them about an allergy, they cooked everything together and served it together despite discussing my allergy with me. There are 4 very poor options for dessert , 4 plain flavors of ice cream, the one I wanted they were out of. The quality of the food was so poor; the seaweed in the sushi was so fishy it took over every roll you ordered. The only dish we liked is the Salmon teriyaki. We definitely won’t be back. Extremely disappointing. And expensive, almost 100 dollars with one sake and 2 adults.
The food was great, but the service was absolutely terrible. There was our group and other groups of people of 2 sitting away from us. We kept having to get up to look for the waiter to bring us things. Then we find them in the back with their earphones in and talking to each other. We waited half an hour just to get our checks. In total, we were there for 2 1/2 hours just waiting for things and the waiter that never came cause we had to go look for him. Absolutely ridiculous! Also didn’t like how the waiter was telling us we’re ordering too much. That’s super rude! we had to get our own napkins. Never came to ask if we wanted more water. Then got the nerve to tell us is it 18% Tip. Like what service did you really give? I don’t think I’ll come back🤦🏻♀️
The food was great…. When it actually came. Came here for my daughters birthday she really wanted sushi, I was extremely disappointed with the service and the response to our disappointment in the service. Our table received no refills for the entire 2 hours we were there. We placed orders for food and would have to wait 20-30 minutes for it to come out, but with it being small portions it was impossible to feel full. In between waiting for orders the waitresses would ask if everything is okay and had to repeatedly say we never even received our food. As soon as I stated I was ready to go home stuff started to kinda move but by then it was 2 hours in and we were ready to go. The tip of the iceberg for me was getting our check and being reminded we were subject to the $40 gratuity….. versus offering a credit for poor service. I am not paying for two dinners because none of us left even remotely full.
We've been coming here for years. They have good food. Service has been hit or miss. Also prices increased. For 3 adults + 1 kid + 1 toddler, it was $170!!!!! That price includes gratuity, poor & slow service, 20min late soup, missing order. Good elsewhere , you will get the same quality food for A LOT less.
80 dollars for that? And they didn’t even get the order right I’m missing a soup and didn’t order salad, go to Kobe on ridge road, their love boat for 2 is 49 dollars includes soup and salad and three times the food, I will never order from here again…update their salad dressing is strait mayonnaise
Me and my family came to Osaka it was total 8 of us we found hair in one of the Sushi we late the server know that we found a hair instead of her apologizing she was keep saying where is the hair where is the hair and being loud and mean about extremely disappointed I do not recommend this place for anyone.
Super slow service. Bussers are throwing dishes very loud. Scannable menu, yet they give you a piece of paper with roll explanations. Makes no sense. Food is not good. We got this feeling like a bunch of teenagers got together and opened a restaurant just for fun. Food takes forever to be made and delivered. Will NOT be back. Highly recommend NOT to go here ....
I’ve been here twice, made sure to go a second time to confirm my review. Both times were pretty bad. Service is bad - servers pretty much ignore you or rush you when you’re ordering. No sense of customer service. But honestly, I can handle bad service if the food is good. But - the food is NOT GOOD. In fact it is probably the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Both times I’ve ate here, I’ve left with a sore stomach for a few hours after. The fish does not taste fresh, and there is a weird “stale” taste to every roll. Pictured below is a tempura roll I ordered. It made me gag, I could not finish. Very little tempura shrimp in that roll as you can see. I am convinced the positive reviews come from two types of people: 1) people who are picking quantity over quality. That’s fair. But for all you can eat, you’re better off going to Sushi 585 in the city. It’s more pricey but at least the fish taste more fresh. 2) people who have never ate good sushi. This sushi at this place is simply not good.
I'm updating my previous review of this place (my previous rating is 5 but now I have to change it to 1 star). This review is based on my recent visit in May 2023. I've been living in Rochester for years and have visited this place multiple times. I was very satisfied with both the food and the service every time but unfortunately, my visit in May made me wonder what has gone wrong with this place. We were a large group of 6 or 7 people. We ordered quite a variety of food, including sushi, fried rice, skewer, fried scallop, etc. The waiter took our order, and then came back later to tell us there was something wrong with their ordering system and asked us to order one more time. We did that. Later, our dishes were brought to our table one by one, literally. Imagine a table of 6 people with one dish on the table. We emptied that dish, sat there for several minutes, and another dish came. Something that made me furious is that they only brought to us less than 40% of all the food we ordered. It seems that they skipped all those food with relatively expensive ingredients and kept bring us fried rice. For a large group of people, the waiter was very inattentive to us. I have to stand up and look for him in the restaurant, ask him to bring us the food. Overall, this is a ridiculous dining experience.
Food was OK, a mediocre attempt at sushi. The real issue was the cleanliness of this establishment, absolutely disgusting. The table was dirty, floors sticky enough that your feet stuck to them, the taped up sign at the table that warned you how long you were allowed to eat was splattered in food and sauce. We ordered these two plates pictured and knew it was a mistake. Staff couldn't get off their phones long enough to be bothered with us. Sadly, I'm not sure why we continued to stay, I'm grateful we didn't get sick. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone other than the health department to take a tour.
