We went here last night for our 2 year anniversary. We were lucky enough to have the general manager Marci serve us. The place was elegant. The food was beyond amazing and we were treated with love and respect. Definitely will return back. The calamari was out of this world!!!!!!!!!! The VENETIAN-STYLE BAKED SCALLOPS and risotto were phenomenal and my bf got the veal portobello.

This was a wonderful experience, from outside appearance to inside decor and service. Food was amazing! I did take photos, but not posting those as the lighting did not do the plates justice. I had the beet salad - which was one of the best around, and the boneless short rib, which tasted like heaven. My friend had the lobster bisque and lamb lolipops - which looked and smelled amazing. Our wine selections were nice. We skipped dessert as we were soooo full. Would love to return, was a real treat. Servers were wonderful, interested in where we were from (Boston accent) and chatted with us between courses. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal meal...our server was attentive and the food came out at an excellent pace. Haven't tasted bread this good since I lived in Brooklyn. Appetizer: Clams and artichoke french. Every bite was delicious...the sauce the clams were in was very tasty. Dinner: Chicken French with a side of risotto. Again, everything delicious and the sauce was particularly nice. Fantastic restaurant, can't wait to come back!!!

This is supposed to be one of rochester's nicest restaurants. The service and the people there are impeccably sociable and extremely attentive to your needs. The atmosphere is warm and inviting.The food is very good, but I wouldn't consider it outstanding for the prices they charge. This is more of a destination and atmosphere place to be seen.

Delicious food. Great service. Love the outdoor seating near the river! A bit overpriced, but the atmosphere the restaurant creates makes up for it. There are dishes to pick from in the lessor range. The martini flight was delicious! The staff were all kind and checked in. I'd go back.

Made reservations for my wife's birthday, Monday night. 6:30 and the dining room was occupied by 4-5 other tables. Our salads were fine (Peach and Wedge). My wife ordered the Lobster French and I the Rigatoni Bolognese. Lobster coating was mushy and slid off most of the meat. Spaghetti side was over cooked (pasta stracotta as opposed to al dente). The rigatoni was also overcooked, and I would guess it was spooned out of a steam tray, precoated with light sauce, and the bolognese (which was not bad) added before serving. Very disappointing. The waitress also forgot my wife's wine order (we had finished our meal by the time she realized it, and only after we mentioned it). Lastly, even though I made the reservation specifying it was for her birthday, there was no recognition of such by the waitress or staff. This was a particularly slow night., and not our first time at Pane Vino (however no for 6 years), but if it is typical, the food and service has declined.

We normally LOVE Pane Vino, but our most recent visit was simply not great. I ordered one of the specials, and it was not described accurately. The first error was that the server incorrectly stated the type of fish being served - which was no big deal to me, as she caught it after I ordered and came over to clarify. The more prominent issue was that it was not described as being an excessively spicy dish, as most restaurants will typically warn you of this. When my meal came, I tried to push through it - but it was inedible for me due to the extreme heat. I am usually quite tolerate of spicy, but this dish was loaded with hot peppers. Thankfully they were able to swap out that part of the meal for me - and the fish was still great. The other less than satisfactory part of our visit was that, as a party of two - amongst other much larger parties, we felt that we were not properly serviced. Other parties that came in after us received their bread, and placed their orders before us. When I initially commented on the spiciness of my meal, the server promised to keep my water full vs replace the dish. My water was NOT kept full, and we then had to ask to swap out the pasta. I'm not sure what happened but it seemed like we fell through the cracks even moreso after making the polite "complaint". Once we were finished with our meals, we waited another 30 minutes for the check - even though the server said she would be right back with it and then went by our table at least a half dozen times before arriving with the check.

We went last Friday night. We ordered an Appetizer, drinks and we both ordered a steak. The service was very slow and we felt forgotten several times. I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare and it was very tough and didn't have enough seasoning, especially salt. Overall, there are much nicer restaurants that are better priced.

Nice atmosphere of a classic Italian restaurant, but the food fell short of what we would expect for the prices charged. Service was very friendly, but our entrées were brought out barely one minute after our appetizers had been served, which should never happen in a fine dining restaurant. The waitress realized the error and graciously apologized. Yet the entrées were brought out again before I had a chance to finish the last bite of my appetizer that I literally crammed down so they could switch out my plates. The flourless chocolate cake was very dry. Chicken French was good but very heavy on sauce. Lamb lollipops were very good. Artichoke appetizer was good but swimming in a lot of heavy sauce. Huge portions, which are fine if you plan on taking some home... Free valet parking was a positive. But overall, it was a disappointing experience. We wouldn't eat there again.

Charging $2 for a little extra ice is outrageous. $60 for Sea Bass? Really? The Sea Bass was ok at best. The risotto was goopy. Alfredo had no taste, very bland. The scallops were ok, very over priced. The cake for my wife’s birthday was stale. The bill was very expensive and not worth the cost.

I went on New Year’s Eve. First they were out of steak at 7pm which is ridiculous. They only had one other non seafood option which was lamb. The waitress never mentioned they were out of steak until we had already ordered drinks and appetizers to try to lock us in to not leaving. Next we ordered two primaveras, one with penne. It came out with spaghetti which the waitress said was because she couldn’t put it into the computer. Even though when we got the receipt it specifically said penne on the recipe so the waitress was a liar. Finally they make the mandatory gratuity extremely confusing. Terrible service, terrible menu for NYE, won’t ever be going back to pane vino. It’s always been a classic place to go but there are so many better places these days that’ll take care of you for the same price.

Went here with my fiancé to celebrate that we are getting married in a few days and this was the place we went on our first date 7 years ago. Had a reservation for 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. As the hostess sat us down I noticed there were a few servers working but the section we got sat in our server was focused on a large party. We had our water poured, but we sat there for at least 15 minutes before our server greeted us. She was too focused on the big table she had, which I understood at the time. What frustrated me is that all the tables that got sat after us had their food, drinks, dessert, and checks way before us, and no one seemed to care about our table or at least acknowledge that they were busy. Unfortunately, we didn’t end up getting our appetizer until 7:30pm and then our entrees until 8:05pm. I’ve worked in several restaurants and hospitality businesses throughout my life and I understand when places get slammed because of big tables. I feel as though the hostess messed up and put us in the wrong section. The whole night we felt like a complete afterthought and our server was no where to be found. We didn’t end up leaving until 8:30pm because it took her so long to get our check and to-go boxes. Overall the food was good but was ruined by such an awful service experience that I’m not disappointed I hadn’t been here in a little over 7 years. I hate leaving reviews like this but I’m so sad that what was supposed to be a cute night was ruined by this lack of planning. Everyone around us seemed happy though and their server was attentive. We were hoping to try the desserts and get coffee but had other plans and being there for 2 hours and waiting over an hour and a half for dinner was enough for us. I hope this isn’t their normal operation, especially on a random Tuesday night.
