Opinions de Lila's Rochester
Always a lovely experience Professional yet friendly and engaging staff. Great and inventive cocktails plus all the classics. Excellent if not overly large selection of spirits to choose from. Food is excellent , well prepared, and visually pleasing to the eye . Happy hour oysters and specials are not to be missed. Jazz band on a number of days each week and an open patio in better weather. A nice little place that is also relatively quiet ( a rare thing in Rochester sadly) Overall highly recommend! Will change your mind about hotel bars, indeed it seems an altogether a different species .
Staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites, and very happy to have this option for dinner after a long drive into Rochester. We were pleased to see such a varied menu selection, though the prices were surprisingly high IMO. I had a fairly standard painkiller cocktail, but it hit the spot. We started with the sweet hawaiian rolls and charred pineapple butter - delicious. Our large plates came out just after we buttered our rolls, which was too bad in terms of timing. However, the food was all executed well! My daughter ordered the mac and cheese and she ate every last bit of it. The breadcrumbs for crunchy topping were a nice touch. I had the shrimp coconut curry noodles with veg and thoroughly enjoyed the dish. The tiger shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly, and the shiitake mushrooms were particularly good. When we first arrived, we were told it was open seating - but part of the dining area was closed off by glass doors. Many tables in the smaller open area were full, so we chose to sit at a table for two set off by itself which unfortunately was next to the kitchen door. Our mistake. We liked the vibe, though it began to get a little loud as the evening went on and larger groups came in. All in all, a very good dinner and super convenient.
This place is a hidden gem in the ROC ! We found this place and cannot stay away! The cocktails are fantastic along with the quality of the food. My husband and I have tried a couple things on the menu and the trout dip is by far our favorite ! Cat the bartender was very welcoming from the first time we came there and has been a pleasure ever since. You MUST MUST try the Blue Gardenia drink if you like blueberries! See everyone soon 🥰
This has quickly become my go-to place whenever trying to decide where to go with friends. The vibe is so relaxed, bartenders are super friendly and engaging, and the food has a refreshing twist on some otherwise known traditional entrees. The ricotta appetizer is amazing, and the chicken sandwich is superb. The first time I came I had the most delicious fresh fish fry ever!! Every time I go now, I inquire if they brought back the fish fry, answered with a regrettable no. Someday I hope it comes back!! However, this doesn’t stop me from coming back. Please check Lila’s out!
We love hanging at Lila’s! The steak salad is always spot on, the fries are addictive, and the wine list has something for everyone. It’s the perfect spot to kick back and unwind.

Had a great evening snack/drink visit recently! Megan, the SUPER sweet bartender, made me a lovely sweater weather cocktail and I LOVED it! For my app I had the pork belly tacos and they were sublime, I could’ve eaten way more of them. My parents live nearby to Lila’s and I’ve recommended they visit too.
Went to Lila's this past Monday and the service I received from Megan was ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! Very attentive, super friendly and welcoming vibes, next to zero wait time whenever I needed anything, even when other patrons were ordering at the bar, she could multitask, and remember my order without having to ask twice. Megan was a true professional and created a very fun vibe/ atmosphere! Will certainly be returning in the near future
Such a good time! Love the 2$ oysters, and Megan our bartender was great! She recommended the rind and grind, it was perfect with the oysters. Lila's gives me more reasons to stay at that hamton inn.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The music is relaxing and groovy the staff is amazing , atmosphere is amazing and most of all THAT CRISPY STICKY CHICKEN IS SOOOOO GOOOODDD I do not eat chicken but I tell u this I ate two servings of this chicken!!!!!!! It's a must and the fries and Hawaiian rolls are great !!! It's a must
I usually only make it in on Mondays, and that’s entirely because of Megan. She’s consistently fantastic—friendly, attentive, and just one of those people who makes the whole experience better every time. And I’ll be honest… it doesn’t hurt that Mondays also come with a guest appearance from Adam B.’s biceps. Great service and great views. 😉 Always a good start to the week here.
I love dining at Leah‘s and meeting up with friends. The atmosphere is very cool. Jazzy laid-back service is outstanding. The food is absolutely delicious. Lila’s is my favorite place to die.
I'm from NYC and rarely find a place with that caliber food and service but this was it. Our server, Megan, was really wonderful and made the experience feel genuine. the food was amazing. I don't even like tuna tartar and it was my favorite dish of the night. Our server was also super accommodating and sweet to my baby

One of the best hotel bars I’ve been to. They have a cute outdoor patio area which is great on warm days. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. But most importantly the food is amazing! I haven’t had an item on the menu I didn’t love!! They do a happy hour every Monday through Friday from 3-6 where you can get $1 oysters and discounted apps and martinis. Highly recommend going to that as the oysters are always fresh and it’s a great deal.
We came here with friends who were here for Xmas. I read all the reviews who complained the service is spotty at best. I have to admit it’s still like that and it wasn’t busy when we were there. They have very good food but the service is slow and inconsistent. If you’re not in a rush, and we weren’t, it was comical but if you were in a hurry or expect a high end restaurant to cater to you this is not it. The food was excellent. I ordered the Birria braised short ribs. These were small for the price but very good with the sauce, brussels, and polenta going great together. I wanted to lick the plate. My wife ordered the ahi tuna tartar appetizer for her meal. She enjoyed the food and was glad she chose that this day. I tried it and it was very good. Our friends got the chicken sandwich and the lobster roll which I did not take photos of. The lobster roll was 36 dollars but it was very good and she said it was worth it. I’ve heard this from more than one person and if we go back it will be the choice I make to give it a try. Don’t be in a hurry and expect serving mistakes you’d not expect for a high end place. If you’re laid back and not pretentious you should enjoy your meal!
Such a pleasant surprise here! Had some friends in town for the Rochester cocktail festival and I brought them here last minute for a quick dinner before they headed home. Food was SO good, bartenders/servers were amazing and the atmosphere was super cool. It felt like we were on vacation for a minute there! It’s a little on the more expensive side but we all felt it was worth it. Only thing that was kind of a bummer and the reason for 4 not 5 stars is that my friend put in a to-go order in for a lobster roll and they never brought it out and we forgot about it but still paid for it. Didn’t realize until we were home, obviously that’s on us too but our servers didn’t realize either. Hotel lobby restaurants are always hit or miss but this one is a hit. Can’t wait to go back!
Had a nice lunch here with my best friend. The food and atmosphere were great. We had mostly good drinks, but one we ordered was not good and did not taste like banana per the menu, we sent it back but they still charged us, and the bartender was rude. Our server was nice but the bartender was not friendly at all.
See picture captions! The 4 is mainly for the unclear hostess station when walked in, had to go in further, nearly to the bar to find it. Once seen and sat in dining area, water didn’t come with glasses and the chips were not that good! HOWEVER what was amazing was indeed AMAZING! Highly recommend the Pork Belly Tacos (very tasty and wish there were 3! - priced a bit high for only 2 but the live music makes it make sense). Highly recommend the Crispy Chicken Sandwich (see caption on pic) and Lobster Roll phenomenally delicious (house chips were unsalted snd I wish I got the fries instead, the fries were AMAZING!)
Good food and drinks, though the prices are getting up there. (2025, right?) Intriguing location: on N. Union, near The Strong, part of a hotel, and having an outside area; parking can be tough at times. Servers were good but need some refinement. Worth a try to see if it's your kind of place.
Service started kinda slow but then another bartender came to help. Pork tacos were good but it was not a plate to share since there were only two small ones. Friday night getting busy with only two servers, not a good idea.
The Mac and cheese felt plain, wasn’t a huge fan. But the loaded fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. 100/10. It is pricey but worth it.

Two things: good news and bad news. Let's start with the good news! It's located near the Strong Museum of Play, which is surrounded by other restaurants and activities to do with friends and family. It's also in the lobby of a hotel which is convenient for those staying there or nearby. And lastly, the food was pretty delicious! We tried a variety of appetizers and main dishes, as well as dessert. Now let's move on to the bad news: First and foremost, there is no structure or organization within this restaurant. While it is located in a hotel lobby, there's no host and no proper communication between staff. There was a sign faced the other way saying to "make yourself at home" but with no clarity. Upon finding our way to the dining area, all the tables had placards with the restaurant's logo, but marked "reserved". We found this very confusing and didn't realize it meant all those tables were for dine-in "non-bar" guests. After sitting down, we waited a bit for the waiter and drinks came out fairly quick. And then it all goes downhill once we're ready for food. It took some time to place the appetizers and we didn't think much of it; they all tasted delicious once we got it! Though after completing shortly after, our waitress was nowhere to be found. Turns out, she was now bartending at the bar in the center of the lobby. We felt ignored and invisible. We had to flag another staff member down for them to even recognize we were done and waiting. A waiter came finally and assumed we were "ordering at the bar". He was nice and was apologetic, but we were waiting a very long time to place our main dish orders. Not only that, there were other tables waiting to be served as well, and people walking in very confused as to where to go, hoping for a host (just like we were!). When we were finally ready for our check, the same waiter came back to go grab it for us. But then, our first waitress suddenly came back to check on us and get boxes and the check. How odd to finally show up when we're now in need of the check so we can pay and leave. The waiter came back with the check as well, and was frustrated to hear that our waitress already grabbed it without any communication between one another. We were very disappointed in the service overall. The food was delicious and I would eat it again, but I would absolutely not go back for the service provided (or lack thereof). There needs to be more clarity, more communication, and more attentiveness all around. I wish it were better, and unfortunately I was hoping to give a better review.

We were excited to dine here, and the evening began well with a drink and appetizers. The oysters, cheese curds, and ahi tuna tartare were especially well prepared. However, service quickly became an issue. Upon arrival, seating was unclear despite signage encouraging guests to seat themselves, and while the bartender was helpful, service in the dining area was inconsistent and disorganized. After our appetizers, we experienced an extended lapse in service, waiting nearly an hour without table attention to place our entrée order. Eventually, another server stepped in and assisted us, though it appeared there was confusion among staff regarding who was responsible for our table. While the entrées and desserts were enjoyable, the lack of communication and organization significantly detracted from the experience. The restaurant itself is modern, clean, and inviting with a pleasant atmosphere, but unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed what could have been a very good dining experience.
