Our first experience at Branca Midtown. Very impressive. On street parking was easy and free. The restaurant is new and very clean. Staff were all very friendly and professional. Our servers were excellent. We shared the Ricotta Crostini appetizer which was simple and delicious. The ricotta was so very smooth and fresh. We also shared a Caesar salad. They kindly split it so I could have mine with anchovies. Excellent. For entries, my wife enjoyed the Tagliatelle with scallops while I had the Spaghetti Carbonara with just a hint of guanciale. Both dishes were delicious. We shared a bottle of Cabernet and finished the dinner with blueberry lemon olive oil cake. It’s important to note that all of their pasta and desserts are made in house and very fresh. Prices are a little high, but the quality is worth it. Dinner for the two of us was about $200 plus a nice tip. My only criticism would be the Carbonara could use more pork and less peas. The guanciale is the star of that dish and needs a greater presence. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

Great restaurant 👌 Excellent food, especially appetizers. We choose Ricotta small plate and it was just super super delicious. Very festive vibe and atmosphere, we visited on Fri night so it was busy. All staff members are super friendly and accommodating. Had a great time and will return again soon!

After getting turned down by a few other places, since we were a group of 11, Branca was ready to give us a reservation. We are so glad we went here because the food, service and atmosphere were 5/5. Everything was so delicious, our waitress McKenna was a sweetheart and so professional, she made sure our dining experience was outstanding. I highly recommend this place.

Branca really is Amazing! We went tonight for a birthday and were blown away! The atmosphere was inviting, we were seated immediately for our reservation and greeted cheerfully by Reed! The drinks we ordered were made so well and tasted delicious! We ordered two apps, the Caesar salad and Burrata. Both were amazing, the Caesar was light and crisp! For dinner we got the gnocchi and pepperoni and honey pizza! Both were outstanding! Reed was attentive and so kind! He even made the birthday special with some delicious gelato! We were so impressed all around! Thank you for making the night great!

Excellent food - delicious! Scallops are incredible in butternut squash and spinach. Rest of the party enjoyed the meatballs, margarita & pepperoni pizza. What a treat!

I love that this location of Branca is in a central spot right across the street from Parcel 5, a public event space in Rochester. I like the modern and upscale casual feel of the restaurant and appreciated how spacious it was. We ordered a few appetizers and main dishes, all of which were delicious. As someone who has sensory issues with certain textures, I was pleased overall, though the octopus was slightly chewy rather than tender, and a smaller than expected portion. Though, all other appetizers and meals were very delicious. Regarding service, the restaurant is quite busy for both bar and dine in service on Friday's and weekends. The service can be a little slow during those evenings, but the staff is kind and attentive to needs and concerns! Overall, I would recommend for date nights and group dinners!

Overall, a nice option for a night out. Service was friendly and fast. The food is quite good. Highly recommend the wedge salad and brussels sprouts. I rarely order pasta when dinning out- however, their "Black Garlic Pappardelle" was delicious- I've honestly been craving it. Their swordfish special was perfectly prepared. Cocktails were also quite good- the "Basil Instinct" and "Jalapeño business" were well prepared and well balanced. My only critiques (and these will not deter me from going back or recommending Branca)-- the overall atmosphere was a bit lacking... Although it was clean--the interior seemed somewhat generic. The dinning area was quite loud and the tables were rather close together. I also felt the menu was slightly limited- nothing really jumped out at us- however, we were very happy with our selections.

The food was a bit above average but desert was better! :) Staff was sweet and helpful. The wait time was the biggest turn off and the portions are a bit small for the crazy price

Credible Critic

Nice restaurant in good location in downtown Rochester. Food quality was mid-range type. Service was spotty, lot of wait time in between. A bit overpriced for what it offers.

Great service, but Caesar salads were bland and they said I couldn't add raw onion to it. 🙄🙄🙄 broccolini salad and beet salad were very good. Steaks were very bland and blah, the mushrooms were the best part of that plate. Pasta was okay, but chicken milanese was very good. Will not be going back.
