Perfect beachside stop over for excellent burgers and fries, a good selection of beer, nice outdoor seating and a DJ spinning some true rock and roll. It doesn't overwhelm with selection but covers all the bases. Will def return!

Amazing quick bites. Burgers are so fresh and juicy, cooked to perfection! Service is polite, professional and extremely thorough! I'm waiting on my order when I saw them check my food in the back and noticed one of the burgers had an ingredient I asked to not be included and before handing it to me, they fixed it and then called me. No room for mistake. I was impressed with the food and service!

I don’t know why people would not like this. It’s near the beach, it has good fries, hot dogs, burgers, and ice cream, and it’s comfortable. The food is great. I never knew that they had ice cream until the last time I went, which was recently. It’s really good. They have chocolate ice cream and cinnamon ice cream. You can get the ice cream in a cup or a cute little cone. The hot dog was lovely, and the fries were good. The atmosphere is that of a normal casual American restaurant, but the seating outside. The service is very good. The people that work behind the counter are very friendly and patient.

Double burger after biking 25 miles. Can’t start my beach day without it. Always delivers a good one and the fries never disappoint. Not cheap but worth every penny. When you go by, make sure you tip the staff! They work hard and always satisfy that hanger.

It's one of my local stops. In the summer, after a day of skating, it jamming with friends, I get ginger and decide to hit up Rippers to enjoy some quick delicious food. They often have people come and play live music, and they even host this group that comes and leads a dance for all to join. I loved my experiences here.

They strive for simple cheeseburger perfection. The fries are perfect. The slushies hit the spot. The cult following behind Rippers is warranted, and if anything, underrated.

Came here on a whim after spending all day at the beach, and this was the perfect cherry on top to an amazing day. They had some crazy good live band playing, with plenty of seating even for how crowded the place was. Lines can be long because of how great the food is, but they move em real fast and food comes out almost as quickly. Great beer selection too

This place totally rips. I was skeptical because I've been to other establishments that didn't live up to their name but not these guys! This place is a good place to let it rip! Fly your freak flag and get your kids a snack while they pump narly riffs and serve up classic burger shack vibes. Buy some shorts, take a dip, eat burger, and let it rip, at rippers!

I forgot to take a picture of the burger because it was hard to stop eating it. Nice patty with some good ol' crispy, lacy edges on your standard potato roll. Fries were really nicely seasoned too. I also had a "Beach Juice" which was a very boozy combination of white wine and sangria. Maybe a tad too expensive for that at $9 but it was nice. I'll come back a few more times this summer for sure. Well worth the bike ride here.

Great place to eat by the beach, I was here on Sunday. The vegan burger was delicious and tasty. Diego was very friendly and kind to explain us all the menu. He suggested us the burger which was a great choice.

Rippers is my fave place at Rockaway Beach. The burgers and hot dogs are great, seasoned fries also. The staff is friendly. Plenty of good beers both on tap and in cans. Often there is live music! Shade when it is super sunny and hot. Nice picnic style tables to sit and eat, drink, or just relax. No smoking/vaping is clearly marked on the tables and posts. The vibe is always friendly. The view of the Atlantic ocean is gorgeous. The boardwalk is generally a fun place to be and to people watch. My only problem with this spot is that I don't get over here ENOUGH!! Come check it out when you are at Rockaway Beach, you will not regret it.

Its back open went yesterday to a delicious cheeseburger. I love that this place exists. I am not trying to eat French fries, but they are amazing here. Only bad thing is water is $4 dollars. Buy some Poland spring and help the people out my friend. Everything else is priced very reasonable.

There's only one other place to get food that's directly on the boardwalk, so this place is really popular. It could easily be mediocre and people would still come for its convenience, but the burgers are genuinely delicious. I didn't have the fries but the others in my group really enjoyed them and the portions were big. The place plays good music. Expect a line to order. Definitely have a burger!

Right by the beach, they have snacks and drinks. Beer and frozen "beach juice" (sangria) is actually pretty fantastic. Surprisingly great burgers. The only annoying thing is that they use square, which tries to guilt took into tipping someone just for taking your order. Tip the cooks instead.

Rippers is located in a concession area in rockaway beach so it is a fun, Open atmosphere consist of picnic tables outside under a covered area. I find that the food is very good. Burgers chicken fries. I can just have fries .. I think that they are excellent. They used to sale a whole fish that was divine. There are drinks , wine beer. They often play music and have live entertainment.. they typically close in late summer for winter.

Rippers is a fantastic place to visit! The beach is clean, and they have lifeguards on duty until 6 pm. During the summer months, the beach can get quite crowded, so arriving by 11 am is a great time to get a good spot before hand. The food station offers a variety of delicious options, including burgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, ice cream, and adult drinks. In the evenings, they have live music, which is a nice touch. We’ve been coming back to Rippers every year and have fallen in love with it!

Spent July 4th out at Rockaway Beach and finally checked out the much-hyped Rippers for lunch—and it hit the spot. I went with the Hardbody, their double burger, and it was a solid move. Good size, juicy, flavorful, and satisfying without trying too hard. The fries were great too—crisp, generously portioned, and dusted with a nice spice blend that gave them a little extra something. It’s definitely a popular spot. I got there around noon and there was already a bit of a line. By the time I left, it had more than doubled. So you might have to wait a little, but for a no-fuss beachside bite, it’s worth it.

Every summer I make a point of coming to Rippers at least once, and somehow every year it’s better than the last. I usually go for the house made veggie burger, which is THE BEST veggie burger I’ve ever had. I dream abt it in the winter I swear. This year they started serving chicken tenders with a house made ranch, and never in my life have I had a tendie so good. It is unbelievable the quality of food at this little beach side shack. Hoping to return before summers end!

Rippers was so good! I love the way they season their fries and the burgers were fire. They have a great veggie burger that I recommend. Also don’t sleep on the cinnamon saucer, it’s out of this world. I had never heard of cinnamon ice cream before but it really hit the spot. Will be coming back to try the drinks next time! Also you can’t beat food on the beach.

Beach front food, it's pretty good. They actually have an app now and you can order food to your location on the beach, which makes a lot of sense as the lines can be out of control. Surf beach right in front, so need to walk down a block to go in the water.

Rippers is a fun spot in the summer, especially towards the weekend days (Thurs-Sun) when they have live music in their sun-sailed covered open-air seating area with ocean views, fresh salt air and people in various states of dress (looks a lot better then the current picture on Maps). Their burgers are really good, and the cinnamon soft serve ice cream is a real treat. In addition to soft drinks, they have tap and can beers, sangria, wine, and spicy micheladas along the ocean-side boardwalk (used to be you couldn't leave their outdoor seating area with alcohol). Food can be a bit pricey, but the beers are priced reasonably. Cash, credit, digital pay available.

They have vegan burgers and their fries are crispy and tasty! I’d give vegan burgers 6/10 though, too salty for my taste. Burgers are on potato rolls/buns. Friendly and fast service. Ideal location.

A very good, tasty veggie burger. Worth $11? Probably not, but it's the only place in the area on the boardwalk. Good beer choices, and the fries looked really good. No modifications to any of the food, meaning I couldn't get the veggie burger without the special sauce -- but it was vegan!

This place reminds me of a surf shack. With its prime location right on the boardwalk it serves up some decent food and beer. My personal favorite was cheese fries with a cool beer. You get to catch some shade away from the summer heat and enjoy the breeze coming from the ocean.

It is quite overpriced for what it is but the food was decent, the service was quick and the staff was friendly. I always take that into consideration and that is why I rated 4 stars. Not bad if you didn’t bring your food or you just need a bite to eat by the beach!

It's such a cool vibe. Sometimes, you find a DJ or just music playing. It's right on the boardwalk, so there are awesome views of the beach. There is a bathroom close by. They serve beer, beach juice, smoothies, burgers, hotdogs, and fries.

Pretty much the only good place on the board walk so definitely worth a stop, but you’ll also pay $8-9 for a burger. We went here early enough to avoid the line (around noon) and saw how long it was later in the afternoon around 3pm. Overall the vibe is great!

The burger and cheese fries were like and explosion of flavor in my mouth and the workers were the kindest I’ve encountered in the New York metro, but someone let a mosh pit and screaming band set up shop on the patio, which polluted the eating environment. It was rather heinous to listen to, and just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I stepped foot into the restroom. Good gracious, God almighty. While it offered my ears a reprieve from the evening entertainment, all of my other senses were assaulted with filth, grime, garbage, and a stench unmatched to anything I’ve experienced in my short life thus far. Food was good though.

The atmosphere is great. However quality of food diminished. And that's why I give them 3 stars. You come here for the burgers. Not the hot dogs anymore. No longer make the Chilli cheese dogs and it's very upsetting.

I ordered two limeades, but apparently this establishment does not know how to make them. Do not waste your money.

Food and drinks are good and reasonably priced based on my previous visits back in the summer. However, their website indicates they are open every day weather permitting... well here I am at 4pm on October 8th... it is sunny and 21°C/70°F... and they are closed. Their website gives no such indication, and there is no phone number to call ahead to check. So I just wasted time and money coming here for no reason. A better system for communicating business hours to people is in order.

Was hoping to try this place today, it’s Wednesday 4:30pm and they’re closed. Sucks. I don’t live around here and heard good things. Aw well, maybe next year.

So much single use plastic being served RIGHT on the ocean?? For shame! Rippers is a fantastic spot along the boardwalk, with great food and atmosphere, but it feels like a genuine crime to create and normalize the reckless use of plastics at the beach. Our oceans are suffering immensely from plastic waste—which breaks down into microplastics and leeches chemicals into our bodies and ecosystems. Surely, Rippers could partner with an org to offer a circular reuse option for folks “dining in” and offer discounts to folks who bring their own cups for fills, or offer compostable cups with compost containers on site. A business that directly profits from its oceanfront view and location should not be allowed to contribute to its destruction. Come on rippers, do better!

we went there yesterday and ordered cheese burgers ..it was the worst burger ı ever ate coz they served uncooked meat even tho we asked for well done we throw them away directly coz you can get really sick after words if you eat uncooked mince meat .. atmosphere and the people were very nice but after a long day when you are hungry uncooked burger is very annoying. that ruin the place for us
