I’ve been going here for years. Their pizza is outrageously good & they have this amazing marinara dressing for their house salads, love their eggplant parm A+. Recently tried their “Franky Special” and fell in love with their coal fired wings, too.
Incredible! The food is fantastic and our server, Stephanie, was so kind and patient and helpful with us and our 2 babies. The chicken scarpariello and the Blue Moon Special pizza are out. Of. This. World!!
I kept my husband’s 40th birthday party here yesterday (12/14/2018). The food was delicious... the waiters were courteous & friendly and the manager Mike was gracious. I would highly recommend this place.
Joe, our server, was personable and professional. The chicken scarpariello was very good, the cappuccino divine and the Italian Cheesecake was something my grandmother would enjoy!
Excellent food and exceptional service! The pecan salad and pepperoni-mushroom pizza are the stuff of New York legend! Many thanks for a delicious meal.
My husband had the best seafood fra diavolo that he's ever had! My son and I had delicious ravioli and eggplant Parmesan. Delicious! Friendly staff too
Wife and I enjoyed everything about this old fashioned Italian restaurant. Food and service was great. I recommend blue moon.
Food was delicious. Good drinks. Our waiter was top tear, I wish I knew his name so I could call him out!!! Amazing service!!
Great place...excellent food and service
The pizza is absolutely to die for. It's delicious, crisp, and taste amazing. The dinner portions are large. If you left this place still hungry, then it was a dream and you never set foot in Blue Moon! Try the antipasto appetizer, it was as delicious as the pizza. The red peppers were to die for!!! One large pizza is enough for 2 small kids and parents!
I've been coming to Blue Moon for years. The food is consistently good and the pizza is outstanding. The staff is always friendly and professional. If you're in Rockville Centre and looking for a great meal, give these guys a try. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommended! A++
Great atmosphere. A fine dining experience in a not so formal setting. Lunch can be a gourmet pizza or anything on the menu is just wonderful, Had dinner there with 4 other family members, on a Saturday night......noisy as the floors are wooden and ceiling is pressed tin, Crowded and the wait was about 20 min. Well worth it. Owner on premises having his own dinner. Staff very attentive and most professional. Food.....was the best Italian food I have had in the last 10 years. Lasagna piping hot with homemade noodles. Veal dishes cooked to perfection, Spaghetti and meatballs better than mamas. I have eaten here about 10 times and always left with a smile and a full stomach. Best by far in Nassau County.
Best Pizzia on south shore ! . Serice is always amazing . Don't sleep on the Coal fired chicken wings , amazing .
Delicious pizza and Caesar salad. The shrimp are large and flavorful. Service is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food and atmosphere was amazing, but the best part was Vivian. She made the pizza sound so yummy in my tummy. Bless her 🙏
The soups were delicious, the veal parmaran was great. We entered at a quiet time on Sunday, the service was pleasant and great.
We never get tired of eating here. And even though we have had many of the entrees on the menu we find ourselves ordering our pizza of many toppings and every time it always comes out of the oven exactly the same delicious way. Service is top self, never a complaint.
Food was fresh and tasty! My husband had the shrimp parmigiana on hero, I had sausage with broccoli rabe with gorgonzola both delicious. Oh and the fried calamari was great! Very friendly waitress, warm and welcoming.
Dependably delicious, great service. When you get the bread, you get the preview for the entire meal...delicious, well made, and veey Italian. Calamari is terrific, wonderful selection of panini; the Bolognese, ala vodka, and meatballs are outstanding. And the pizza is excellent. Service is attentive. Prices are reasonable.
Sarah was a great server! she has such a kind and welcoming energy. will definitely be back again!
The food is unsurpassed. The pizza is old fashioned style and served by the pie only. The decor is the original marble topped tables, tile floors and other details from decades ago when the restaurant opened. We love their salads so much that we often go for lunch and just have the salads for two for each of us. The ambiance is informal and delightful. This is one of our favorite restaurants in RVC.
Awesome dinner @bluemoonpizzeria , first time here, will be back...so delicious from the baked clams, house salad & coal fired pizza- half meatball/ half onions & black olives.... everything was tasty, delicious and Chris our server was amazing...great food , great service... great call @flawlessfaceslb .. #meecheatsny #bluemoonpizzeria #foodpics #foodiepics #rockvillecentreny #longislandnyeats #longislandnyfoodie
This is a 5 star restaurant and one of my favorites for many years. The service, beautiful rustic atmosphere and incredible service are always consistent and incredible. I have tried most of their dishes and still cannot make up my mind as to which are my favorites as they are all great. All my visits were wonderful. Thank you, Valerie P., Long Beach, NY
I recently had the opportunity to visit Blue Moon Pizza, and I’m not sure why I hadn’t gone there before. Everything about my experience was excellent. The food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was inviting. Jen, the bartender, was particularly impressive. She was attentive and provided great service throughout my visit. I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu!
food was amazing, the staff super friendly and I love the aesthetic of the place!
Have the same bartender and she's always very friendly. Never had a bad meal there. It's just pricey though for pizza, no matter how it's cooked.
Fantastic food and great service at this lovely little Italian restaurant. The lasagne was delicious and the garlic bread is absolutely fabulous!
Since Blue moon opened in 2000 it is still my favorite authentic Italian spot!! I go whenever I'm in the mood for a 5🌟 meal! Can't go wrong! Quality has it's values!!, and is well appreciated 👍🏻 Try anything on the menu., from the amazing coal oven pizza 😋 to my favorite baked clams 🤤 to panini to the awesome pasta dishes to the weekly specials and on and on! Service is great, it's great for any occasion and it's a perfect family environment. The main staff is irreplaceable! The service can't be better! Enjoy!! You'll thank me for sharing my secret spot that I've enjoyed for years!!!!
We recently visited Blue Moon based on a recommendation from someone in the neighborhood. Every 3 months a group of us veterans choose a venue to just eat, laugh and enjoy each other's company and we reminisce the old days. The online reservation process was simple, direct and no issues when I arrived to check in. Staff was very accommodating and joyful. The food was amazing and we all selected various dishes and there were no complaints. Imagine that from a group of old timers who can always find something. We will definitely go back.
The Blue Moon "special pizza" is hands down, the best slice of pizza I've ever had anywhere in New York! The homemade marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella and all the toppings are just phenomenal. The coal oven crusted dough is absolute perfection and compliments the ingredients so beautifully. It's unlike any other slice you'll have on Long Island.. I usually order the special pie with a side of their fresh garlic broccoli rabe and it's heavenly delicious 😋 🍕♥️
Food was delicious. Service was great. They took extra care with my elderly mother. Will be back
Had an amazing experience here. The food was excellent all night. Morgan was a fantastic server. We will request her again in the future. She was so patient and friendly!!! Can’t wait to visit again!!!
Had lunch today in Blue Moon. The food was good but let me tell you the Chicken Parm hero was outstanding! Brandon our waiter was great as well as his co-worker Erica! Will definitely be back & a total recommend for everyone! 👍
Absolutely delicious! The place was clean and had a really nice ambiance. The service was delightful and very attentive. We had personal pizzas, pasta’s , salad and panini’s. So flavorful , light , and delicious. Been going for years but haven’t been in a while. Can’t wait to return.
Staff was extremely friendly and efficient, we had Caesar salad, meatball hero and pepperoni pizza everything was fresh and delicious!
Great food and service; prices are also not bad. I will return here.
This place rates a 10 Food was fresh tasty and plenty full Service was amazing Place was clean 1st time there and will go back
This restaurant was amazing!! The wait staff were so accommodating and kind! The private dining room is large and yet cozy at the same time! The food was PHENOMENAL!!! It was an awesome place to have our office Christmas party!
We wanted to try a new pizza place in RVC so we decided to give the Blue Moon a shot and it was well worth it. The margarita pizza is by far the one of the best that we've had in the area. LeAnn was out waitress and she was fantastic. We will definitely be back. If you're in the area, I recommend you stop by.
I just had my daughter’s baby shower in the front side room at Blue Moon. The staff were so accommodating. They helped make the party run seamlessly. The food was fantastic and plentiful. Everyone loved the family style service. They helped with set up and take down and even let us set up the night before after their dinner service was completed. It was great having two private bathrooms too. I am so happy I chose Blue Moon to celebrate this wonderful day! I highly recommend Blue Moon for your next event or just a lovely dinner with friends. Thank you to Erica and Victor and Faith who couldn’t do enough to make this day special for us.
Just stopped in had been trying to get there for the last 15 years. Jennifer the bartender made the perfect Ketel One Dirty Martini. The Pizza was delicious and the dessert were awesome 💯
Absolutely amazing service and food. Definitely coming back next time I’m down the shore and highly recommend this place
This was my 1st time having pizza in Long Island. Growing up as a Brooklynite, I had no reason to look for pizza elsewhere. What an incredible date spot in the middle of RVC. Old school coal oven pizzeria. The original flooring is still intact. The menu is straightforward, with wine and beer options available as well. We ended up getting a Pep/Sausage combo. A great balance of cheese to sauce. Fresh mozzarella. Acidic tomato sauce. A tasty pie. I wish it was a bit crispier, but that is just my preference. Delicious nonetheless!
Loved the old tin ceiling and the old fashioned bar. Great food with left. I had shrimp parmesan (which is difficult to find on a menu). The shrimp were very large and quite yummy. Charming wait staff and reasonable prices for NY.
I have passed this quaint restaurant many times but just never had an opportunity dine here. It was sure worth the wait. The staff is attentive, polite, and swift in the order taking and delivery of our food. We enjoyed two paninis for lunch. The grilled veggies and chicken cutlet paninis were cooked to perfection. The bread had nice flavor and a good crust. The fillings were ample and accompanied by a yummy sauce served on the side. A great spot for lunch and from the black board specials, we shall visit for dinner very soon.
Threw my wife's surprise 30th here. Had a party of about 30. The staff assigned was friendly and quick to fulfill any requests. The food was delicious, especially the eggplant rolitini and garlic knots. Will be going again for a normal sot down dinner soon.
This restaurant has been here for a while. They are opened late. The pizza is very good, as well as the salads and Italian dishes. Pasta is freshly made. Prices are very reasonable. Service is varied. Sometimes the service is great, while other times it is mediocre.
Great customer service, ordered pizza and a hot entree. When food arrived at my table the Entree was Hot but my Pizza was luke warm. Ordered a pitcher of Sangria but it was loaded with Ice, after two glasses the rest of the pitcher was very watery after the ice melted.
Excellent! We went for lunch. I had the salsiccia con broccoli rabe panini which comes with roasted red pepper sauce. My daughter had spaghetti with marinara because she loves how the sauce sticks to the pasta. The lunch breadbasket is good too. Sorry no pics today. Next time.
I've been dining here for awhile now and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal here yet. The food is consistent and delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive.
1st time visit played it safe with chicken Parmigian and it was very good my wife and 2 friends went with other dishes and loved them all waitress was awesome so we all agreed we would definitely go back !!
Service and personal service is excellent. Erica is a very good manager and waiter. Remembers your favorite things. Silvio is a very personable bar tender too. And the food is good with variations on the menu. Pizza, flat bread sandwiches and calamari are very good.
Very good food, friendly service. Ok portions. My only issue was we ordered based on a special which boasted 30% off but was not on the check. When we mentioned it to the waitress she said she made a mistake and our selection was not the special that day.
Always a solid, satisfying experience! Service is always friendly and attentive. Pizza is phenomenal, with the only drawback being that the crust, as fluffy and flavorful as it is, just can't stand up to your standard "fold and hold" pizza eating tactic. It hurts me as a New Yorker to fork and knife my pizza, but such a delicious slice certainly softens the blow....
We were disappointed in this place for the first time...not in the food or the service, but by the nearly 4% "non-cash" charge which was added to the bill without forewarning. They also charged $14 for a TINY glass of house wine. I can buy a 2 liter bottle of a decent wine at that price. Felt like we were ripped off.
My pasta dish was beautiful but all the pizza's had over done crusts. They do warn they'll be well done but these were inedible. I would give them another shot though as the atmosphere was great and staff lovely
Excellent pizza but somewhat overpriced. Over US$30 for a standard-sized pie with one topping. And $15 for a pitcher of soda. But the service was excellent and I would return. Next time bring my own soda feigning a dietary restriction (so they can’t use their no outside beverage policy against me).
We showed up at 9:30 on a Saturday and could only eat pizza and salad. They were preparing to close. Of which I fully understand if it's a slow night. Plus we only wanted pizza. So next time I'll review the food. So this is based on the pizza It's very good fresh out of the oven I highly recommend it. We also had wings that were delicious. Service was top notch. Thank you 😀
My wife and I used to frequent blue moon for a large pizza. Recently we ordered one large pie with our usual toppings (meatball, mushroom, ricotta). We don’t order drinks or appetizers. The pizza came out to $42… with tip it became $50. This is an outrageous price and totally ridiculous, hoping that management will see this and reconsider that kind of pricing as we won’t be returning.
This place was nice. The pizza was absolutely fantastic, and the crust was delicious. The service was decent, but I wasn't necessarily impressed as we wondered at times how aware our server was of our needs. That's a tough feeling to have, especially when you are always looking around, trying to find out where they are, as you wait for refills or even to take your order. The Pizza is brick oven style, and they have several sizes to choose from. I swear their 12" pizza is really a 14", just letting you know :)
Cozy Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Rockville Centre. First-rate service. Outstanding margherita pizza.
For the past 18 years, Blue Moon has been my go-to spot for delicious Italian food, and it continues to hold a special place in my heart. One dish that has never failed to impress me is their mouthwatering Meatball Pizza. The combination of flavorful soft meatballs, gooey good quality mozzarella cheese and perfectly baked crust ; top with a little oregano , parm cheese and hot flakes is simple irresistible to me. To enhance the dining experience, I highly recommend pairing the Meatball Pizza with either a rich red wine or a refreshing Blue Moon beer. The robust flavors of the red wine complement the savory meatballs and bring out the best in every bite. Alternatively, the crisp and citrusy notes of a Blue Moon beer provide a delightful contrast that cuts through the richness of the pizza, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. Thank you for remaining consistent with quality and taste of your Meatball Pizza.
This is a local gem, and our server(Josh?) did not steer us wrong. We used to dine at Blue Moon years ago, before we moved, and decided to dine here Friday 10/6/2023. It was after 9:00 pm and the staff was welcoming and attentive. The 3 different types of complimentary bread, baked clams, Striped Bass special, Tiramisu dessert, and cappuccino were delicious. The entrée was large enough to share with my husband, and pictured are the specials menu, leftover Striped Bass entree, and half of the dessert. We highly recommend Blue Moon and will definitely return at our next visit to New York. Thank you for an excellent dining experience!
9/12/18 +1 star-Baked Clams Appitizer was great, sauce on plate made the dish. Garlic Knots were tasty. +1 star-Enjoyed the general atmosphere and the decor, as well as the cleanliness of the establishment. +1 star-Our Waitress provided excellent, friendly and courteous service. While I ate, across At the bar there was what seemed to be a female employee, off duty, and an older gentleman behind the bar speaking loudly, with the female using excessive profanity. People can talk how they like, just seems extremely unprofessional to do it at your place of employement. The main dishes my friend and I had weren't good. They also werent bad. Just "OK". Both dishes were extremely bland. Best description would be equivalent to what fast food italian would taste like. Like I said, not bad, not good, just ok. I would suggest looking for a different Italian dining experience in the area for a main dish/full dinner. This place is more suitable For a quick appetizer type meal situation based on the garlic knots/baked clams and the waitress we had.
Kitchen forgot to make our food. When it came out an hour after we ordered, my pizza was undercooked. They rushed it. Waitress was extremely apologetic and comped the pizza. Will try again eventually, but underwhelmed after this last trip.
The food was delicious, but the service was absolutely horrendous. Half orders coming out, missing plates missing silverware. Was supposed to be 90 minutes on mother's day, turned out to be near 4. Waiter was absent-minded and overwhelmed. Had to clean tables, and more. 1000 percent understaffed. There was literally 1 waiter for 5 big groups in the back room. He had help maybe 1/3 of the time, otherwise they were ghost. Waiter had to be reminded 10+ times about things that were missing.
Ordered the cacio e pepe from their "specials" menu and it was underwhelming. My pasta was very watery, not cheesy. It had good taste, but nothing like traditional cacio e pepe. We had mixed emotions about my wife's chicken parmigiana pasta dish. The chicken was good, however it was very saucy. It was accompanied by a side of rigatoni served on a separate plate that was drowning in sauce which combined with the chicken felt like sauce overkill. Our friends ordered the stuffed shells, a side order of meatballs and a personal pizza which they seemed to enjoy. Tasted the coal fired chicken wings and they were delicious. With regards to the service, we read some reviews prior to our visit, so we set our expectations accordingly and what we read was accurate. No one was rude, but the service was lacking. We had to flag down our server to take our order and once we got our food they were missing in action. Didn't offer to refill our waters and just didn't show up until we were done to clear the table and bring us the check which we had to flag down. Felt more like take out place then the "fine dining establishment" they promote. They also appeared to be busy with a private party in the back room. Maybe they cater more to larger groups. Who knows...
So I went with my husband and ordered their chicken wings. Asked for Blu cheese did not have asked for Ranch did not have. But the wings were good-not the best. We ordered the penne vodka and fettuccine Alfredo. The penne was well done with no flavor at all. The fettuccine was OKay. We didn't try the pizza but maybe that's what this place is known for. Everything else was a no go for us. But I must say a pizzeria without Blu cheese or ranch dressing- the waitress wasn't the best. She said that she can keep the rest of the gift card for her tip. Maybe I didn't want to leave a tip?! But I did leave a generous tip. I just know we won't go back.
The service was prompt and courteous although it was a slow night. The food was overall good but portions were on the small side. We found the six small baked clams pricey at $20. The pizza was flavorful but the bottom should have been firmer as the slice flopped when picking it up. At $15 for a glass of wine we should have received a higher quality wine than a $9 bottle at retail. Overall in my opinion not worth a return visit.
Wonderful service, the staff always make me feel welcome and are proactive, polite and friendly. The restaurant is very cute, cozy and decorated nicely. I ordered a calzone here after having great ones in 2022, not sure if the ownership or head chef changed since then. But the new calzone does not resemble a calzone, it is more like a heavy roll, almost like a chicken roll. Also, it was burnt to the point it was acidic. I hope Blue Moon will use this feedback to improve, and produce a light fluffy calzone in the correct shape and consistency, instead of this brick-like burnt slab.
They are not working to keep the clients safe from the virus. They are using old menu. They use Community serving items like cheese shakers and red pepper shakers. They are not wiping down the metal chairs after each use. I did not feel safe. They seems to not be concerned about their clients safety.
I eat out with my family frequently. So, I know about tasting the food served in restaurants. For the price they charge the quality of the cooking was horrible.
Was just there, food with drinks was$121.and change. I left $145.00. Manager and waitress questioning about food and service I said good. They was questioning my tip I said my tip was 18% They said it was not enough, I said I don’t tip the tax!! The waitress then said most people do! I will never again go there and neither will my family or any friends. THE NERVE!!!
I went to dinner with my family last night. Service and food were great. Unfortunately we witnessed our server get approached by an older gentleman, I assume the owner, and get berated in front of a room full of people. She was so sweet and we felt so bad for her after that. Not the way to treat your employees at all
I recently moved to Rockville Centre very near to Blue Moon. I went online to Blue Moon’s website and clicked the link to “Order Online” and I placed my first (and last ever) order. I was required to make payment when I placed the order. I later sent my husband in to pick up our order and the man behind the bar charged him a second time for the food. I called Blue Moon to rectify the situation and the man on the phone rudely chastised me for not knowing that the link from their own website was actually leading me to a service called “Slice” and that I should have known let him know at the time of pickup that the order was paid. The link is on their own website and requires the person to pay. I told asked him how I should know all the tricks of their own website so that I don’t get charged twice. He continued to say that it was my fault. I really did not want a fight, just a resolution, and I was looking forward to finding a good neighborhood restaurant, but after this conversation, I will never go back to Blue Moon. I have more self-respect than to patronize a “hospitality” business where I am treated so poorly. This all occurred Tuesday 1-22-19, at 6:00 pm. The man who double charged me then chastised me for not knowing his rules was in his 60’s and has salt and pepper hair.
Service was sub par. Never refilled my drinks drinks or offered to. They sat empty. Plus soft drinks are $3.50 a glass no refills. I expect this in fine dining not the local eatery. Waitress was too busy chatting. Food was ok but for the price I'll go else where. 44.00 for 2 panini sandwiches with no side items. In fact dinners don't include salad or something. Avg entree is $24.
Food is great. Giving a one star for attention... Just a heads up for anyone who orders from this restaurant for delivery. For the second time a Meatball Parmigiana Panini was ordered and they sent us a side order of meatballs. I'd suggest when ordering to use your caps in comments to remind them what you've ordered. This way you're not sitting at home like I am right now watching a grown man eat what a 6 year old may have ordered while out dining with their parents. I'd post a pic but a hungry man might not find it funny at the moment. LOL :)
Food was terrible!!!!!! The fried calamari according to them “is the best in the word”- it was the worst I ever had even my sister can make a better one and she’s 10. Don’t recommend this place even the pasta had no taste literally tasted like water in a plate
Been there on 3 different occasions and each time I was served burnt pizza — is this a thing? I’m not a fan
I'm not sure about the other reviewers and where they've had Italian food before, but unfortunately that was the worst Italian food I've ever experienced from the appetizers to the main course and the dessert. The calamari was like rubber, the fresh mozzarella was not fresh, my main course was alla vodka sauce and it was not all vodka sauce not even close. My dessert came tartufo and it was already melted. I forced the meal down because I was with other couples but as soon as we left I commented to others and they said the same thing they couldn't believe how poor the food was.
Terrible customer service. Called after making an order on grubhub to confirm that they would make the correct order which was confirmed. Order just showed up and it is completely wrong, called restaurant and woman was rude, unapologetic. We used to love this place but after this encounter we will not return
Many more Italian restaurants in Rockville Centre to eat at where the food, service, & staff are GOOD! Last nights dinner was a BIG disappointment to say the least...DO NOT order the shrimp parmigiana if you are hungry because it consists of 5 SMALL shrimp over loaded with mozzarella cheese. We asked for grilled shrimp instead of breaded, and when we asked the waitress how many shrimp were supposed to be in the dish she replied "Well if you had gotten them breaded, the shrimp would look bigger!!! Seriously????? In addition, a glass wine priced at $8.50 was less than 3/4 full. As we left the restaurant the waitress got into a confrontation with us saying "I don't cook the food!!!" EAT SOMEWHERE else!!!!
Went here for the first time today and was really looking forward to a great experience. We started off fine… we got the complimentary bread and was asked for drinks. We ordered a sprite and dr pepper. I got the sprite but it was actually just seltzer water. The Dr Pepper did not happen since the soda machine is broken. Our appetizer came and it was great. We waited for the main course for more than 40 min. We could not wait any longer and just had to get it to go. No apologies about the wait time at all from the staff. We would be probably had a different experience if we were caucasian.
My daughter is medically vegan. She's allergic to album and which is a protein in animal products. I went to this restaurant to order a side of broccoli with zucchini in olive oil and some roasted potatoes and they tried to charge me $26. But they didn't tell me up front how much it was going to cost. I canceled the order and walked out. The waitress told me that they're gluten-free pizza is not gluten-free and to order it somewhere else. If you have celiac, avoid this restaurant.
I went with a party of 10 last night, first off you could not even talk to each other it was that loud. Than we ordered our appetizers and food together because we had to as per our waitress. our salads came out sporadic not all at one time. Than our meals started to come out. First off my pasta dish was the size of a side dish, portion was terrible. Than some people had there food while others didn't. Our coffee we had to remind the staff what we all ordered and besides it took almost 3 hours to get our food we were getting cramps from sitting so long. we had only 3 drinks at a party of 10 and the bill was ridiculous. They demanded a 20% tip which was not worth the food the waitress was a doll it's to bad they just lost all of our business. The waitress should find another place she was to good for them. All 10 of us will never go back or recommend them to anyone.
So the pizza is the only good food here. Veal is terrible. Had veal parm and the meat was dark. Real. Earl has a white color when cooked. So either they are using some other meat to mask it or they are using real crap veal. Sauce way over spiced and wings are tasteless. They are either pre cooked or boiled not the real coal fired experience I was expecting.
The salad was wilted and we told the waitress. She simply shrugged my partner’s dinner would be rated a zero and mine eould be rated a 2. Neither has fresh flavor and deserved sadly to be thrown out. We have eaten at the Blue Moon many many times and it was delicious. The waitress and the failed at ever level. What a disappointment.
