The OG ‘I have been at this desk for 8 hours too long and I need to aggressively drink my feelings away’ spot. Unbeatable happy hour prices. Spacious bar. Lychee martinis. Wasn’t crowded at all around 5 but the dinner rush showed up in full in the hibachi area at around 7 so I imagine reservations are a good call. Apparently kids eat hibachi free under age 5 on Wednesday (and Tuesday I think?) which would explain a lot.
Early Father’s Day dinner with my husband was a delight. The sushi and the hibachi at this location were amazing - great portions, lovely staff, and entertaining chef to sum it all up! Will be returning.
Came here for sushi, have not tried the hibachi. The sushi and sushimi are good and are par for what you'd expect. The waitress we had was kind and quick as could be despite there being a minor time-consuming issue at another table. The food came out quickly, one after the other at a pace that was quite surprising. What I liked best about this place was the good, yet afforable sake selection. Often places can upcharge significantly for similar types range sakes. All in all, glad I went and hopefully I'll try the hibachi next time
Wonderful place for to go celebrate! Waiters are attentive and the chefs are amazing. No matter your age they engage you! They took allergy serious and cook the food back for that person. Food was delicious and bonus points for allowing happy hour at the table!
Celebrated my soulmate's 53rd birthday 🎉🎊! Sushi and the free ice cream at the end were truly AMAZING! The server was very welcoming! We felt at home for their beautiful service!
Had a great experience at Kabuto! Came to celebrate my birthday with the family. Made reservations online and was seated right away upon arrival. The place is clean and the design and atmosphere of the restaurant was top tier. The staff was very friendly. The Hibachi table is a must! The cooks are entertaining and kept everyone laughing. Food was great. I was worried as my kids only eat chicken tenders and Mac n cheese but they enjoyed the food and said they would return, which says a lot.
We were celebrating and decided Kabuto would be a good last-minute adventure. We made a reservation, although had to wait 15 minutes for a table (and made good use of our time). Our server, Rosanna, was friendly and attentive, and our chef was energetic and masterful. We enjoyed the delicious food and generous portions (yes, there were leftovers). If you're looking for a fun place to dine or celebrate, consider Kabuto.
Hand down one of the best hibachi restaurants I’ve ever been to! I went here with a couple family members , and the man making our food was hilarious! The presentation is awesome, and the entertainment is excellent! Wait time was not very long, probably because we reserved a table a couple hours before. There was a lady who would check up on us every 10-15 minutes and see how the food was, or if we needed refills, etc. She might’ve been the manager, but for all I know, get your folks gathered up and come on down here! Get ready to feast!
Great food and wonderful staff! We had such a great time at the restaurant. Perfect place to go with friends and family to enjoy a food experience.
The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious and flavorful with large portions of everything. The restaurant itself looked pretty new and was clean and nice.
Took my husband here as he never had hibachi before. He was very excited to experience the food and the fun show. Over all, food was decent and they even had happy hours. We tried some of the HH appetizers along with the hibachi. The quantities are huge and we could have been good with just one portion with all the appetizers we ordered. Over all, my husband didn’t get the same show as other tables which disappointed him a little. But over all, pretty good. Definitely a must try. They do accommodate vegetarians, just make sure to tell them no fish related sauces in your dish either. Our waitress was very considerate and checked on pretty often. I ordered the lychee martini which was good and not too sweet. Decent beer options in HH. Best part about the hibachi experience being a vegetarian is, they clean the grill top very thoroughly that doesn’t carry over the meat flavors from the previous session which was a huge plus for us.
I absolutely love this place! All the servers are so kind and so are the chefs that cook at the table! Our server’s name was Anny and she was the sweetest person. The food didn’t take that long since not a lot of people were there. The bathrooms were super clean, the women’s restroom had these pretty sinks and the soap was in these cute little containers. My friend said the men’s bathroom had LED lights on the mirrors! The tables had lights underneath them and were so clean. This place had a lot of cool/cute decorations everywhere which make it also a good place to take pictures as you eat! I really recommend coming here when you have a family dinner, a birthday dinner, celebration, or just a date.
I haven’t been to a hibachi restaurant since I was a kid but this was still a fun experience as an adult. The atmosphere was festive with all the people celebrating birthdays, staff were great and attentive and we had an excellent chef. The food portions are huge - I ended up sharing with someone and we still had plenty to eat and leftovers. It’s a $5 charge for sharing but not bad. Make sure to let the restaurant know if you’re celebrating a birthday and they’ll bring a complimentary slice of cake after dinner.
We loved Melissa!!! We were at Kabuto for a big family dinner, and she hyped us up the whole time. She was the best! Ask for Melissa!
What a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff goes out of their way to make you birthday, anniversary, promotion feel wonderful. The food is consistently delicious. It can get a bit loud when the restaurant is full of patrons having a good time. But generally the experience is really good.
Weird order system tried to give us 44 items, including orders from other tables? They fixed it, and everything was amazing. Usually you trade quality for quantity at AYCE places... Not here. 5/5 food, and I'm not sure how they make a profit putting large oysters on their AYCE menu.
My first experience at Kabuto was phenomenal! My server, Naveen, was attentive and provided top notch service. I ordered the Spicy Kani, Spicy Shrimp, and Shrimp Tempura Rolls; along with the Calamari Rings and Fried Rice/Noodles. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and I loved the subtle kick that you taste in the Yum Yum sauce. I’ll definitely be back soon!
My sister and I visited Kabuto Hibachi, Sushi & Udon Restaurant on my birthday because the restaurant was kind enough to send us a birthday discount offer, which we took advantage of. When we arrived, we found their parking to be free and convenient. Kabuto's interior is festive, and because it is set up for Hibachi diners to sit around a grill while a Japanese chef prepares the food, Kabuto lends itself to groups of diners who come to celebrate birthdays or other events. So we were not surprised to hear a nearby table singing Happy Birthday. Because Kabuto prepared our meal Hibachi style before our eyes, the chef was central to our dining experience. We saw that our chef was very skilled with a knife as we watched him slice our beef, chicken, and shrimp. He then went on to combine the protein with the rice, vegetables, and sauces, which he served to each of us. He was also very generous with the portions he gave us, so my sister and I were able to make a second meal from what we ended up taking home. Likewise, our server was very conscientious by making sure we had whatever we needed. We had a good experience at the Kabuto Hibachi, Sushi & Udon Restaurant and recommend it, especially for special group celebrations.
The best time ever. Our 2 year old twins loved the experience and the food. Our 13 year old also had a great time even though he wouldn't admit it. Special birthday dinner for my lovely wife. Our chef was awesome with the twins and made them feel special. 10 out of 10. Great staff and great service.
We had an amazing time. Our server Maiia was amazing from start to finish. She made us feel comfortable and explained the menu perfectly. It was our first time, but Because of Maiia we will be back!
My husband took me here, and normally I don't eat much, but the food was so good! I was sad when the meal was over, definitely coming back soon!
My friend and I hadn’t seen each other in a while and wanted to enjoy a nice dinner together, and choosing Kabuto last night was the perfect decision. The experience was amazing from start to finish. The Hostess really set the tone of how our experience was going to be. She was so upbeat and seated us timely. The food was incredible—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. What truly made the evening even more special was our waitress, Mya. She was exceptional—attentive without being overwhelming, friendly, and very thoughtful. She checked on us at just the right moments and gave us the space to enjoy our time catching up, which we really appreciated. Her service made us feel relaxed and well taken care of. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we left feeling happy and satisfied. We will definitely be returning and hope to have Mya as our server again!!!
An unforgettable meal! The hibachi chefs were so much fun and the food was incredible. The atmosphere was perfect for a night out with friends or family.
I came here a couple of days ago to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing experience! I chose the all-you-can-eat option, and from the moment I walked in everything was top notch. The hostesses seated us right away, and our server, Maya, was incredible—super friendly, attentive, and really knew what she was doing. She explained how everything worked and made us feel welcome the entire time. The food came out quickly, and while not everything arrived at the same time, you could tell it was freshly made. The staff gave great recommendations and came by often to clear plates so the table never felt cluttered. Everything I tried was delicious—definitely a step above other similar places I’ve been to. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area!
Awesome hibachi and sushi restaurant. My parents and I love coming here. Last night, we had a lovely waitress named Maiia who was friendly and professional. It's convenient having both a hibachi and regular dining option. I also love the bar and Amir is a class act.
As always, the chef was fantastic, and the food was absolutely top-notch. One of the things I love about this place is the generous portions—they're perfect for taking home leftovers. We visited on a Tuesday, and I was surprised to see how busy it was for a weekday, which might explain why our server seemed a bit rushed off their feet. The service was slower than usual, and unfortunately, we never received our appetizers, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, the quality of the food made up for it, and I'd still recommend this spot for a delicious hibachi experience.
Kavawn was a wonderful waiter during my family's visit. Wonderful service from him and he encouraged us to review. Had great food recommendations for my picky mom and great beer recommendation for my dad. The food was great, very fresh. They have a parking lot where you can validate parking with them. I only deducted a point for the hostess who tried to seat us at a dirty table before the waiter stepped in. She also only gave us 2 menus and 1 chopstick but we were a party of 4. Strange.
I really enjoyed my experience here. I stopped by on a weekday and the hibachi area was full. My friend and I decided to go for the Ayce sushi option. For around $35 per person this is the best Ayce deal in the area. I loved the variety of sushi and sashimi options they offered. Some of the other highlighted Asian food items include the soup dumplings, Korean pancake, galbi, and ponzu scallops. The service here is great. When you arrive there is a QR code where you can order all the food through the link. The servers here brought our food out quickly. I loved the variety here and will definitely be back to try some of their rolls.
I recently visited this restaurant and had a great overall experience, though I’ve reserved a full 5-star rating until I get the chance to try the hibachi offerings. That said, the Sushi Bar is a highlight—straightforward, fresh, and delicious. Each dish was beautifully presented, showing clear attention to detail. While I would’ve loved the added touch of watching the chefs in action, especially at the sushi bar, it’s far from a deal breaker. The atmosphere makes up for it with a calm, inviting environment that enhances the dining experience. Service was attentive and pleasant, and the staff made sure everything ran smoothly. From the ambiance to the food, everything felt well-thought-out and worth the visit. I’m looking forward to returning and trying the hibachi soon—if it matches the quality of the sushi, I’ll be bumping this to a five-star review in no time!
Tried their AYCE Sushi and Hibachi! Great experience. MANY appetizer options, but none really stood out to me besides the shumai, kanii rangoons, and gyoza. The rolls and nigiri were great! Little rice and lots of fish (great ratio). Some sashimi came out frozen, wouldn't recommend. Had mochi ice cream and ice cream for dessert. Service was great with our waitress always checking on us often. They messed up our order a few times but fixed it quickly. Food came out quickly! They have a parking lot where you can validate your parking ticket inside the restaurant.
The family and I were in the mood for a hibachi show, and Kabuto did not disappoint! We arrived early and were greeted warmly. Our table for six was booked, but we decided to sit at the bar while we waited. The adults enjoyed trying the unique snow sake, as well as Sapporo and Asahi beers (Kirin was out of stock), while the kids couldn't sit at the bar. The welcome was very friendly, and we felt comfortable from the start. Once our table was ready, we moved to the hibachi grill, where the chef put on an excellent show. The family enjoyed the interactive experience of catching food in their mouths, and the chef even sang a Hindi song for us! The thrill of seeing everything cooked in front of us was enjoyable, but we would have preferred a tad bit more salt and spice in the food. The service staff, particularly Melissa, was great. Our water glasses were always full, and her friendly demeanor added to the overall positive experience. Overall, we had a fantastic time at Kabuto and would certainly return for more! The atmosphere was lively, the service was exceptional, and the food was delicious. While we would have liked a bit more seasoning, it didn't take away from the enjoyment of our meal. We highly recommend Kabuto for a fun and entertaining dining experience!
First time in Kabuto and both atmosphere and the food were really good, unfortunately it cannot be said about the service. We ordered kitchen appetizer, 3 special rolls and one classic roll and waited for quite a while before our order finally showed up. It was the 3 special rolls though, we asked then for the appetizer and classic roll and were informed that there was some problem with ordering system and they didn’t have the missing roll but now put it in. We were half way through the special rolls when the appetizer finally showed up, and shortly afterwards the missing roll. There were 3 different people checking on us meanwhile, we had to repeat to all of them what was going on…our waitress was very kind but seemed a bit overwhelmed. We will give it a second try, hopefully the service is better next time.
I came here with my family to celebrate a birthday. We did the hibachi. The service was good, the food was tasty, but I feel our chef lacked a certain showmanship. I haven't done hibatchi in many years, but I remember the chefs usually being more engaging. We still had a great experience and a delicious meal!
Food and chef were great! The restaurant was nice our server was super kind. Seating arrangement was a bit spotty/fustrating but overall experience the chef and server gave us was great.
April 2023 update Came here for lunch on the weekend. We got a birthday coupon in the mail for the place (1 free hibachi entree with purchase of 2 hibachi entrees), so we decided to check out the hibachi. Note they offer 3 hour free parking with validation for the adjacent parking lot/garage. The validation machine is by the hostess stand at the front door. The place is dimly lit and decently clean. When you enter, they separate the people who only want sushi from the people who want hibachi. Makes sense since hibachi is a performance experience here (the chefs make hibachi at the table). If you want hibachi, you can also order sushi. They have a hibachi table for bigger groups, but most of the tables serve a max of 8 people. They also seat multiple smaller parties at one table. Our table had 2 parties of two and 1 party of three. The occupied hibachi tables have lights on under the counters where you eat. Our waiter was friendly but was mostly not there. I noticed that the waiter stayed away when the chef was there (presumably to not interrupt the performance), and this was true for the other tables too. Even with that, the waiter only came by to take our orders, deliver ordered sushi, and after the chef was gone to ask if we needed anything. One of the parties drank a lot of water and had to wait a long time for a refill. The hibachi chef was funny, engaging, and confident in his skills. The performance he put on was really good, and he answered all the questions we had for him. Since there were birthdays at the table, he made a birthday "cake" with stacked onion slices drenched in oil and then set on fire. It was a very flaming birthday song 🔥. He also made sure there were no seafood allergies before cooking the meat. It was pretty interesting watching my hibachi plate "grow". First the noodles were served, then the rice, then the beef was done before the veggies. Then the salmon, shrimp, scallops, and chicken. When it comes to amount of meat for the price, I think salmon is the least. If only because it seems that the salmon is divded by fillet and everything else is based on weight and then the chef has to eyeball how to divide them evenly among those that ordered that specific meat. For the actual cooking, I would say the meats were cooked a little overdone but still some juice. I do think a lot of things were too salty. The house salad was VERY salty, and the noodles and fried rice were a bit too salty too. Overall, while it was an interesting and entertaining experience, I'm not sure if I would come back. Original review (2019) Went there for the weekday lunch. We ordered the steak teriyaki bento with miso soup, house salad, and pork gyoza and the maki bento with suimono soup, California roll, salmon nigiri, and sunkissed salmon roll. The food was decent overall; house salad too salty, pork gyoza not worth it, sushi rice too wet, raw fish itself pretty good. The service could definitely be improved and also wasn't consistent: they got the steak wellness wrong and we saw another group given fortune cookies with the check. Overall, it was good, but wouldn't go there again.
The restaurant is big. Not a lot of business on a rainy Saturday lunch. We were waited pretty long time to get the our hibachi chef. My friend told the chef more than 3 times to not over cooking the lobsters. We still got really over cooked lobsters.
Food is okay. It’s seasoned okay but could be better. Not a fan of the soup, yum yum sauce, or noodles. I like that I can get more bang for my buck but I much prefer Sakura Japanese Steakhouse even though they don’t serve noodles. Sushi was pretty good!
The service is slow for hibachi. we were first to sit and had to wait till the table is full! The chef act is very short compare to other similar restaurants which is fine. The quality of the food are just ok, taste like ordinary asian restaurant. However the portion us big. I guess trying it once is fun to watch and experiencing it. The restaurant itself is well designed and has a good interior.
It was my first time here with one other person. We did the AYCE. The food was pretty good, however, the service was lacking a bit. We had multiple food orders that were just forgotten and never came out. Our waitress was nice, but seemed flustered and may have had too many tables to handle. I would recommend not coming here during peak hours as I don’t think this place functions very well during those times.
Went for dinner and did the all you can eat option. While most of the food was okay, the service was not great. The non-hibachi area of the restaurant wasn’t super busy but it took good while for the waitress to initially come over and then she didn’t come back to check back on us till we were well into our meal.. and the only reason she did come over was because someone in our group flagged her down because they had been waiting to order a drink. I can count on one hand how many times she checked on us during the visit. As for the food, most of it was okay but nothing really stood out. The pork soup dumplings tasted a bit weird and the hibachi veggies tasted more like fish than veggies. I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.
I went there to celebrate my birthday. Overall my experience was ok. It was too busy, so we didn’t get to experience the hibachi but we did the “all you can eat”. It was a bit chaotic. Few of us scanned the QR code and were placing orders and there was a bit over delays.. Some food arrived towards the end when it was the first thing ordered and we had no idea who’s orders there were (if more than one person ordered the same thing) because they weren’t letting us know who it belonged to. At the end when we were paying, our server told us about the 18% tip that’s included due to the number of people at the table (which we were fine) but then proceeded to tell us that any additional tips are appreciated… and waited by the table for my parents to add the tips, which I thought was not professional. We came from Frederick (and Virginia) and were so excited to try this place. I don’t think we will be returning.
It was an overall fun place to go for a birthday! We had a large party there with a baby as well. The food wasn’t bad, just a little on the saltier side. The restaurant was spacious, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to reserve. Both of our chefs were nice and fun too! That part was a great time for our family. We were mostly just disappointed by our server. While our party was still finishing their meals, she tried to rush us out of there by coming by to ask us about getting boxes 3-4 times. It felt like she wanted to get us out so she could clock out. Later on, what really shocked us was when we asked her for plates/utensils for the cake cutting and she said she’d have to check if they had any more? But the restaurant was huge and mostly empty. We had to ask her multiple times and she didn’t even bring enough back for us. When we tried to ask for a few more, she only came back with plates and no forks. I had to ask her another time for the forks for her to say, “I’ll have to check if we have any more.” Again, this huge hibachi restaurant was nearly empty - there were forks all set up on the empty tables around us. It was very unfortunate that even some of my other family members shared with me afterwards that she was also rushing their meals, didn’t refill anyone’s water, and seemed to give an attitude when they asked for utensils. It’s a shame the experience everything else was great, just not the service of our particular waitress.
Very disappointed in this place. Overall the food was ok, our steak hibachi was terribly over cooked as you can see from the pic, we ordered medium rare, but the scallop one was good. Main issue we had was the wait time for food/drinks. Went at happy hour and our server Melissa was very good and apologetic, it seemed to us that she was supposed to take all the tables on one side of the restaurant, and there were a lot of tables including a big party. Meanwhile for some reason they had like three or four people standing around the host stand. We ordered happy hour drinks and it took twenty minutes to receive them, our second round took even longer as the restaurant had filled up more. It took a while to get our entrees as well and they forgot to give us our soups. Note to management get more servers/food runners/bartenders especially during the holiday season. Might give this place another try as sushi was pretty good but will try lunch as it won’t be as busy
PLEASE RUN AWAY I want to give 0 if I can. I ordered a hibachi with lobster but they gave me chicken. It tastes like chicken; looks like chicken but the manager came and said this was lobster. This is the most interesting thing I've ever heard lmao. Edited after the reply: they insisted this is lobster lol. If you can make lobster taste like chicken and look like chicken, I'd recommend to hire another chef 🤗
Patrons beware; Do not fall for the “All you can eat” offer for $35.99. There are many menu items that are not included. Those that are included are served in very small portions, without the sides that are listed on the menu as part of the entree. You can also be charged extra if you don’t finish eating all of a roll. It is a shameful ripoff. Our waitress was very kind and kept apologizing for what little choice we had a la; “All you can eat”.
employees were disrespectful and weren’t being discreet laughing at me on MY birthday. would never eat her again. mind you, it was empty when my family & i walked in this establishment 🤣. i looked good, they should learn a few things ❤️. luckily i didn’t confront them, because i wasn’t gonna let anyone ruin my birthday.
Worst service EVER !! Cold and distasteful hibachi, waited almost 40 mins just for a Pepsi and 2 Margaritas. Only good thing was the manager taking almost everything off the bill for us.
Terrible customer service. We had a Valentine’s Day reservation for two and were seated at a table in the back that wasn’t even in a normal dining area, it was directly in front of a door that blasted cold air into the restaurant. When we asked kindly to move, we were told other tables were being “saved for parties larger than two,” despite the fact that multiple couples were already seated at those exact tables. We were then told we could sit at the bar instead, which makes no sense when we had a reservation and there were clearly available tables in the dining room. The girl who sat us was very rude. This situation showed poor management, inconsistent policies, and zero consideration for guests. Completely unacceptable experience, especially for a special occasion. Staff need better training and basic common sense. Do better.
Hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The staff here isn’t just unprofessional—they’re completely incompetent. The three hostesses and the manager were all glued to their phones at the front entrance, ignoring customers and acting like doing their actual job was an inconvenience. We arrived at 7:00 PM for an 8:00 PM hibachi reservation. While waiting, we sat for some sushi. Instead of doing something simple—like asking us—they decided on their own that we “no longer wanted our reservation” and gave our seats away at 7:49 PM. Before our reservation time. Before we said a single word. Before ANYTHING. When I confronted the manager, she shrugged it off and said the staff assumed we didn’t want hibachi. Assumed?! That’s their excuse for screwing up a reservation? No accountability, no solution, no professionalism—just blank stares and excuses. And it wasn’t just us. I watched another group right in front of me go through the exact same thing. They had a reservation, showed up, and still had their seats handed to someone else. This place is a joke. If you want your reservation respected, if you want basic customer service, if you want staff who actually care—do NOT come here. They’ll waste your time, ruin your night, and couldn’t care less about it. Never returning. And I’ll make sure everyone I know avoids this place too.
Although the food was good, the service was highly disappointing. We had a 1:00 PM reservation but weren’t seated until 1:20 because of an issue with the ordering system we would be using to order our food. Once seated, no one explained how the process worked until about ten minutes later. We got our first few items, then waited an hour with no food. When we finally saw our server, she went to check and came back back to say that there’d been a system error an hour earlier that stopped our orders because we imputed something wrong. She reordered our food and we finally received our meals. Later, our dessert hadn’t come out after 20 minutes when I asked she said again the order also never went through. We asked for the check and to speak with the manager. When she arrived to our table she didn’t greet us or apologize just stared at us. So we greeted her and explain our disappointment. She said sorry I wish my server had brought this to my attention soon and said What do you want me to do? We asked to be compensated and she only took off only $5 per person after we’d sat there for three hours total more than half the time waiting to be served.
