Prelibatezze della cucina romana meno popolare, ma incredibilmente buona! Molta attenzione alla stagionalità delle proposte. Personale preparato estremamente gentile e di piacevole compagnia. Un luogo in cui vorrei sicuramente tornare!

Vera cucina romana, al di là del trittico delle paste onnipresenti (d’altronde spettacolari!), ambiente intimo, grandissima carta dei vini (ottimo cesanese del Piglio), disponibilità e cortesia del personale. Giusta velocità nel servizio. Bollito alla Picchiapò spettacolare. Una delle poche insegne (nonostante la scritta Settimio rimasta all’esterno in onore alla vecchia proprietà) che si fa ancora rispettare a Roma. Bravi davvero.

We managed to get the last table for 2 after walking up on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was busy with Romans; a good sign. We were warmly greated and given good advice and information by our waiter about the wine and olive oil. The food was excellent. We had the Carpaccio of beef and Bruschetta Pomodoro to start followed by the lamb cacciatora and pasta matriciana. Both were great and filling. This was one of our best meals during our visit to Italy. Great food. Great service.

The food was a true celebration. I enjoyed a pasta dish with tuna that was excellent, along with a seafood pasta, accompanied by the house wine which was also wonderful. This is the second time in two weeks that we’ve come to dine at the restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant, the design is clean, and the service comes with a smile, lots of patience, and a real love for the dishes. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of all the main dishes, but I did capture the sea food pasta that was excellent and the tiramisu dessert, which was excellent and not too sweet, as well as a side dish of roasted peppers,pure flavors of well prepared pepper

A very busy restaurant that focuses on Roman favorites done very well, we were lucky in beating the lunchtime rush, but best to book! My Rigatoni Amatriciana was perfect, chewy homemade rigatoni in a very rich tomato sauce with real depth, a scattering of crispy chunks of guanciale, and a dusting of sharp pecorino Romano. I also tried the Meatballs alla Teresa - a pair of seasoned medium-rare beef patties in the Sicilian style of Aunt Teresa, accompanied by some fresh greens - gentle seasoning really brought out the flavor, as did the sear from the cooking. Everything in the menu looks great, and the trattoria has two sister restaurants to try as well. Recommended

Exceptional service, we would have gone back if we had another day. It’s like a family dinner in a restaurant. Dishes are creative, but traditional. Have multiple courses, taste as many things as possible. Still regret missing out on the traditional boiled meat entree- will be back for it.

Loved this unassuming small restaurant near Piazza Navona. The pastas were excellent and different from the ubiquitous Roman four. Busiate with broccoli showed how something very simple can be so delicious, and pasta with sweetbread was wonderful. Friendly, kind, and efficient service, homey atmosphere. Reservation essential.

May 25- it s a vibe. Recommended by a local who reviews eateries. Out of the way (we walked past first!) and winding walk from Navano. Small and intimate. Trendy. Solo and couples and group dining. Waiter was so knowledgeable and friendly. Specials and menus items. We had one special and one recommended menu item. Wine wasn't paired but did recommend a good one- they are all natural wines and an acquired taste. Reaosable prices. Delicious authentic food. Recommended

We had a perfect evening - the food was delicious, we recommend just going with the dish of the day since it was excellent. Wine was also nice, the wine list was quite extensive with wines in all price ranges. Service was also very welcoming. Definitive recommendation!

Coming from NY thinking I knew what Italian food tasted like since there is a large Italian community in NY, this restaurant set the bar from now, when I go back to the U.S. I’m gonna have to hustle for good restaurants. This place was so good after the first bite, I was frozen I took my time to eat the rest of my Rigatoni alla Carbonara very slowly to enjoy the rich flavor. The pasta was truly Al dente. I honestly regret not coming here sooner as this is my last day in Italy. The tiramisu was to die for. I’ll definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rome.

Fantastic first lunch here a few days ago with my mom, so good that we are going back for lunch tomorrow. The menu is a beautiful roster of very traditional Roman dishes, executed perfectly and set in a surprisingly contemporary yet informal environment. The spaghetti con animelle e porri is a knockout and the minestra di arzilla e broccoletti and spezzatino di vitello were excellent (as was the creme catalane for dessert). The wine list is a modern gem in its curation—modest in size and pricing and stellar in its selection of super-star, small Italian growers (Foradori, La Distesa, Radikon, Ampelaia, etc): The server was very friendly and professional with both tourists and locals. Really outstanding vibes and food here. Chill yet on point. A new favorite.

Beautifully designed modern restaurant! Food was incredible, had the house red wine (the Chianti as recommended by the waiter) which was really good! Made a reservation online. Very reasonabley priced.

New and wonderful way to experience Cesare food with it the trek to Monteverde! Short menu of Roman classic dishes that hits all the right notes. Don’t miss the pillowy-perfect gnocchi although all the pastas are excellent. Wine list is small selection of reasonable local producers. Prices are on the low side for this caliber of food. Space is plain but very well done and comfortable. Best for lunch. Reserve in advance as it’s tiny!

Locale piccolo ma curato. Servizio gentile. Ammetto che è stato un ripiego, non avendo trovato posto da Cesare al Casaletto… ma ho mangiato un’ottima pasta alla Amatriciana.

Overall it was good. Very decent wine, some dishes were great, others alright. Was expecting a bit more tbh. For me, carpaccio should focus on the beef - they were adding all sorts of extras.

Servizio buono, personale cortese e attento. Locale essenziale, semplice, pulito. Purtroppo, opinione personale, non siamo rimasti per nulla soddisfatti dal cibo. Rigatoni matriciana con guanciale bruciato e sugo acido, coda vaccinara quasi totalmente osso. Prezzi buoni per essere nel centro storico ma, dalle recensioni ed essendo locale consigliato da Lonely Planet, ci aspettavamo decisamente di più.

Siamo stati in questo ristorante a cena sabato sera, anche se non avevamo prenotato il cameriere con gentilezza ci ha sistemato un tavolo. Abbiamo ordinato una carbonara, un vitello alla cacciatora, una cicoria e una crostata con le visciole. Il cibo era buono, cucinato bene, nulla di eccezionale ma una caratteristica differenziante rispetto ai ristoranti turistici del centro; peccato per la quantità ridotta all’interno del piatto, assolutamente non commisurata al prezzo elevato. La location si trova in un posto centralissimo della capitale e l’arredamento è molto semplice e carino. Il personale è molto gentile. Non mi sento di consigliarlo, perché il costo, rispetto alla quantità, è stato davvero alto.

Locale riaperto sotto l’ala della gestione di Cesare al Casaletto, ma con piatti ben diversi. L’offerta racchiude in parte i piatti della cucina romana, ma non della cucina “grezza” da osteria. Abbiamo provato: tortino di alici ed indivia (buono e delicato), abbacchio alla cacciatora, baccala al sugo (un po’ troppo condito di sugo), crème caramel. Nel complesso i patti erano buoni, anche se per gusto personale prediligo altre ricette più ricercate. Il locale è piccolo, ma i tavoli son ben distribuiti. I prezzi nella media, anche se credo che il prezzo lo abbia fatto salire molto il vino. In 8 persone abbiamo ordinato: 3 antipasti, 8 tra primi e secondi, 3 dolci, acqua, 2 bottiglie di vino e 3 liquori da dolce; abbiamo speso 50€ a testa. In realtà la media dei piatti non è alta (approx20€ per un secondo), per questo deduco che il vino abbia fatto salire di molto il prezzo.

Sabato 28/02, eravamo in tre . Mi portano in questa trattoria 'storica'. La carbonara: emh, soprassediamo, quando la improvviso a casa in confronto è una pietanza da Oscar. Come dessert chiedo un tortino alle mele caldo. Arrivato semi congelato, lo faccio presente, e mi dicono "lo riscaldiamo subito" (e vorrei vedere..), senza un minimo di scuse ne' contrizione . "Roma caput della ristorazione disfunzionale". ...Ma tanto i turisti se magnano...."tutto".

Il quartiere ha perso un ristorante storico per acquisirne uno così così . Non vOglio essere cattiva ma riporterò il mio punto di vista. Prima era un ambiente familiare, si mangiava come a casa di nonna, buono genuino e saporito! Mentre la nuova gestione ha deciso di collocarsi in una fascia medio-altina. Però ci sono delle lacune. Manca l’identità e lo spirito in questo posto, sembra una stazione dei treni, curata, pulita e con qualche oggettino di design ma quello che arriva è quello. Manca l’anima. Abbiamo mangiato bene tutto sommato, niente era davvero speciale ma neanche pessimo…il servizio un po’ lentino e ci sono state alcune lacune ma possiamo soprassedere. Diciamo che non è nulla di speciale. Ho chiesto l’olio per condire il carpaccio ed il cameriere è rimasto ad aspettare che condissi per riprendere la bottiglia, assolutamente tremendo. Con tutto che comprendo tutto ma è stato fastidioso, il parmigiano idem anzi neanche l’hanno lasciato l’hanno servito loro al mio compagno. Cosa che ho trovato fuori luogo. I prezzi vi permettono di ammortizzare un po’ di parmigiano e pure l’olio! Ma non è questo è questione di buon gusto alcune volte! È stato spiacevole…comunque complessivamente non è andata male ma non è davvero niente di chè spendendo meno ci sono posti molto più tipici anche perché sembra una trattoria ma non lo è. Vuole diventare un ristorante di classe??? Mancano delle cose: la mise en place per favore non tovaglie di carte, ma tovagliato vero, una candela, un fiore o qualcosa sarebbe stato carino soprattutto ora in tema natalizio. I vetri delle finestre necessitano di un’attenzione visto che sono piene di aloni. Specialmente se sono 3€ di coperto a persona!!! Lancio una freccia a favore delle sedute che sono davvero molto comode! E anche il personale di sala fa il possibile per metterti a proprio agio. Starei attenta a piccoli particolari, come l’attenzione alla donna più grande per iniziare a servire il vino e altre piccole chicche di sala che danno valore all’intera esperienza. Auguro il meglio a questo posto e lo consiglio per un pranzetto e una cenetta al volo senza troppe pretese ed aspettative.

Le nuove aperture a Roma incuriosiscono sempre. Locale arredato con elegante semplicità. Consigliata la prenotazione nel week-end. Piatti tipici romani. Ottimi i dolci.Purtroppo pessima acustica, un problema spesso troppo sottovalutato. Un consiglio : servire il pane con generosità, con alcuni piatti è di regola la scarpetta!

Il cibo molto buono e tradizionale. In particolare ho preso dei rigatoni al sugo di involtino che erano molto buoni e una crostata di visciole che era ok. Purtroppo però il rumore dentro il ristorante era assordante e non si riusciva a parlare in tranquillità. Nonostante il cibo buono per me non è stata un'esperienza piacevole.

The food was okay. The amount of meat in my friend's dish was a joke. See the photo. When asked about it, the waiter begrudgingly mumbled something about it being in the sauce. Apparently the meat balls (more like patties) were good. Very limited vegetarian options. The younger waiter had quite the attitude and generally was very slow. Despite all of this the place was quite popular and there was a line of people waiting to be seated.

Perhaps the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I lived in Rome for two years, had always heard wonderful things about the original Da Cesare and was excited to try their newer place in the city center. I had made a reservation in advance, and my mother and I arrived on time. Immediately the manager (I assume?) accused us of being an hour and ten minutes late. I was confused and thought perhaps I had made a mistake, but no, we were right on time. He kept looking at his watch but huffily gave us a table. I showed him the reservation confirmation email with the correct time, and he admitted that he had been wrong. Fine, could do without the attitude, but not a big deal. After several minutes and receiving our water, a different waiter came by and asked us to move to a new table, as a party of 4 (that was *actually* late) had arrived. Again, fine, we agreed to move. They sat us at the worst table in the restaurant, right next to some industrial refrigerators. When they opened one of the doors, it barely cleared my mom’s head. By this time, we had already been there for nearly 30 minutes. I asked politely if we could move to the empty table for two that was right next to us. The waiter went to ask the manager and returned to tell us “no, not possible because that particular table is reserved.” We immediately left. I just can’t imagine treating a paying customer in this way, especially when we had done nothing wrong and were very polite. The prissy bald manager had clearly made a mistake and overbooked the restaurant and was taking it out on us. Will certainly never be returning and am no longer interested in the original Monteverde location either.
