1st time and here and my wife and I thought it was great. They went out of their way to find us a table and every part of the experience was wonderful. The food then wowed us and the tiramisu was absolutely wonderful. We can’t wait to go back!!

I had the veal parmesan with the homemade cavitelli. The veal was perfectly tender. We also had the calamari app that was exquisitely cooked it was a nice change from the usual crispy fried version.

Everything was wonderful! Great meal at a great price. The owner actually walks around asking if everyone is satisfied...a nice touch you don't see too often anymore. Our ONLY issue was the temperature of the restaurant. We're having an unusually cold cold snap this week and our table, which was near the bar and the back door was uncomfortably cold. We figured there wasn't much to be done about it, so we suffered in silence! But this is our new go-to place once it warms up a bit! HIGHLY recommend!!

Upscale look home town people, staff just great, kind lady walking around making you feel more at home, and most important, a GREAT CHEF in the back. Reasonable prices, and like old times, bread,salad, and a real pour in the wine glass. You really. Go and enjoy.

Their $20 Four Course menu is incredible. They offer this on Tuesday and Wednesday. It includes appetizer, salad or soup, a pasta dish and then your entree. We had no room for dessert. Service excellent and the food could not have been better. We were a party of 4 for dinner, each ordered something different and each of us had the same compliments. Definitely will go back.

My husband and I have been here several times in the last year, and every time it's delicious. He loves their pork chops and I love their haddock, no matter how they prepare it. Their greens & beans (appetizer) is also fantastic. We've always had great service and the hostess, Joanne, is so sweet and helpful. The only reason I gave them a 4 for atmosphere is because the dining room is usually pretty noisy.

This review is for my takeout of Utica Greens . The best I have ever eaten . They are consistently delicious . They chop the greens almost to a fine texture making it easy to eat . Sometimes greens can be chewy but these are always so tender & full of flavor . The serving portion is large & the price is more than fair . The staff are always so friendly & accommodating . The restaurant is clean & cozy with a working fireplace . Every meal I have had here is delicious . I also buy gift certificates for family because they too love this restaurant . The service is excellent. I recommend them .

We recently had a private family and friends lunch (about 35 people) at the restaurant. We were more than happy with the setting, service and food. Charlene and staff were amazing! The food was delicious, as so many of our guests mentioned. One guest even bought a gift certificate as she was leaving. We would not hesitate to have another party here or just come to dinner again.

Armando's was so accommodating for my recent catering order. Though the restaurant isn't normally staffed until noon, I needed an order to be completed by 11 am on a Sunday so it would arrive in time to a remote location for my daughter's bridal shower. Diane was very helpful from beginning to end, and the staff made it happen. The guests of the shower kept raving about the food and asking where I ordered it from. Their catering portions are also very generous and their prices are more than reasonable. Though I ordered enough food for 50 guests, there were plenty of leftovers. So, in addition to party favors, some guests left with to-go containers filled with delicious food. A big thanks to Armando's for such a great experience. I will definitely use them again for my next catering order!

I ordered 2 of the take out family dinners. The food quality was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The portions more than met everyone’s appetite. There were 5 adults dining and we had left overs. The food was fresh and the home made taste was excellent including the salad with dressing. Everyone commented how good the fresh baked bread was.

Delicious Chicken Sorrento main and squash flower appetizer (special). Generous portions, including the glasses of wine. Friendly, knowledgeable service by waiter Devin. No room for dessert. Reasonable prices.

We went to Armandos recently for my birthday and had a great time. A reservation is highly advised. Armandos seems very popular and busy, so even with a reservation, there was an understandable bit of a wait. We got chicken Alfredo fettuccine and Pollo e gamberetti, and both were delicious. They may be more expensive than other local restaurants, but I believe that we got what we paid for. Both meals were very filling and I'm happy that we came.

Hands down THE BEST in Schenectady! I've never had a disappointing meal from Armondos! Always made with Precision, quality ingredients and exactly how we like! My husband and I went there for the first time last night. Everything was AMAZING. My only complaint would be that I wish there was a baby changing table in the ladies room. We had our two month old with us, I had to lay his blanket on the toilet lid and crushed him that way.

I called tonight to see if they had any Family Dinner specials for Good Friday and they didn’t. All the specials contained meat. Five minutes later, they called me back and said the head chef could prepare an eggplant Parmesan family dinner. The meal was delicious!!! It was huge and included salad and bread and was enough for six people and was $26. They went above and beyond to provide a very affordable family dinner on Good Friday. Everything was excellent!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

I know the hostess Joanne very well and the waitress Trish and Nadine as well. All are so friendly and service is great. Food is excellent especially the pastas. Well this isn't one of those places. The soup had lots of mini meatballs, had a hearty flavor, and warm and comforting. Dare I say that it was super-meaty and flavorful -- and I don't use those terms lightly. I was expecting the third course to be a snooze-fest because it was rigatoni. But I was wrong of course. The meat sauce was sweet and yummy, had little carrots, and the pasta was aldente. Simple and well done. Nuff said. For my fourth and final course, I had the Coquilles St Jacques (scallops and mushrooms in a cream sauce) and I nearly lost my shizzle! The scallops were cooked perfectly and the sauce was great. Really well done and delicious. I'll definitely be back for this as well. Overall, this was a great experience and I highly recommend Armando's to anyone who is looking for a quality and memorable meal. By the way, our waitress Nadine was polite, professional, but really cute and funny the whole time. She was a joy to be around. Thank god these places still exist. Went for our anniversary and had no reservation, they found us a small table no problem… and did it with a smile! It was our first time and I think she knew that. She then sent us a tiramisu cake slice on the house to say congratulations. It was such a nice gesture. Honestly with the food industry lately getting worse and worse this was SO nice. Finally service to match the price of things. Highly recommend (make a reservation!) this restaurant. Swung by Armando's for Restaurant Week tonight. Legend has it, that Armando was the head chef at Cornell's for years. Eventually the owner sold the restaurant to a new family. She and Armando continued to work there until she was asked to move on. So Armando opened his own place, hired her to work with him, and they now are the dynamic duo of Rotterdam. My wife & I did not have a reservation on a Friday night but diligent hostess fit us in-between two other reservation slots (tip: get a reservation) - atmosphere was bustling, full of family/friends enjoying themselves. Service was attentive with excellent timing. The menu and specials were solid (saffron risotto was superb) - wife devoured her chicken francaise and my veal saltimbocca was delightful. Stopped in for a late dinner. 8pm. we closed the place at 10 pm. But had such a great experience. At first it took a bit for them to figure out who would be our waitress.. we got luckey with Nadine. She recommended the exact items we were thinking of and was an absolute fun and thoughtful person. She didn't even flinch when my friend asked for more garlic,the second time. Anyways She was fantastic. The wine he chose was perfect and the food was amazing. Recommend the Utica greens and chicken Romano. To start off, this Restaurant has a very intimate feel to it. From the moment we walked in to the time we left, the staff was so Super Friendly. Our waitress, Sapphire, was so Super Nice & Friendly. As she would walk by to take care of other guests, she would stop by at our table to see if we needed anything. If we had empty plates, she would quickly come by to remove them. If we had empty glasses or bottles of drinks, she was on top of that as well. AWESOME SERVER!! 😊👍 For the Food: Our Appetizers & Salads came out quickly. My Husband ordered Clams (I don't eat those) but he said that they were REALLY Good. The Meatballs...OMG 😲!! They were a very good & hearty size & not to mention, very Flavorful. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi with thin Spaghetti 🍝 . The 4 Shrimps 🍤 on my dinner plate, were HUGE!! So full of Flavor & just the right amount of Garlic in the Sauce, nothing overpowering. My Husband ordered the Stuffed Steak. He was like: "OMG, Babe! You have to taste this". The Steak was cooked just like we like it, Medium-Well. The seasoning was REALLY Good & the stuffing that they used had Shrimps 🍤 & Scallops in it. Very Delicious 😋!! Needless to say, we DEFINITELY enjoyed our dinner 🍽 & the ambiance. We will DEFINITELY be going back again.

1ST time here. Very friendly and clean place. Sat @ the bar and had some very friendly people next to us! Seemed to be a casual or nicer dress. Food was delicious! Large enough portions! The cheese garlic bread was the bomb! They used amazingly delicious bread!! If you are around here and want some yummy food you won't be disappointed!

I really love Armondo's. 90% of the time the food is fantastic. Only problem I have is with the last family dinner chicken marsala. This last time the pasta was very dry and had no flavor. We were hoping it was going to be as good as the last time we got it. I don't know what happened but I've never had a problem before this.

The food we had was very good, however we were really rushed through our meal to make room for the next customer. That left a bad taste in our mouth as we aren't the type to sit and chit chat for hours but still we like to enjoy our meal a little without being rushed.

We went out for a later dinner around 8pm. I ordered the stuffed strip steak with scallops and shrimp, my son ordered the chicken parm, my wife order the grilled pork chops, and the food was great as usual. Then the bill came, my dinner was 4 dollars higher than the menu price, my sons was 4 dollars higher as well, my wife's was 2 dollars higher. When I asked the server about the difference in the price, the response I received was the prices were raised, but not updated on the menu, which in my opinion is not an acceptable answer. I'm not a confrontational person, so I didn't ask for the manager. Not sure if I will go back...

Wait staff exceptional. Chicken dishes a little dry. 3 shrimp for $15. $6 extra for Cavalli that was mushy. Bread only fair. Can't beat Delorenzos. Very crowded.

This is a great place to eat. Everything on the menu is amazing. Professional service with a smile. Youll need a reservation unless you get there early enough to get a seat at the bar. Atmosphere is quant. Prices are reasonable and portions a big. You won't leave hungry. I highly recommend this place.

During the crazy time of 2020, one of our favorite Italian restaurant doesn't have their dining room opened so we have tried other places in the area. On this night, we tried Armandos. The food is really delicious, fairly large portions...especially when ordering the pork chops. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. We would eat here again.

Restaurant week dining can be challenging with packed establishments, limited menus and slow service. Armando's had a full house, a substantial menu and attentive, courteous service. Their menu had 4 appetizers featuring a well presented and tasty beef tenderloin Carpaccio. The traditional soup or salad was next, followed by 5 pasta selections. Our favorite was Spaghetti all'Amatirciana, a basic pasta, tomatoes, pancetta and herb dish that was well prepared and plated nicely. Their entree selections featured 4 dishes including a sumptuous veal with 3 cheeses, the evening's best plate. Their house red wine was most enjoyable. Our only downside was a veal parmigiana with too much breading. Overall a most pleasant outing during a hectic promotional night.

We waited about 40 minutes before we even got our salads due to the amount of people in the place. Italian wedding Soup was delicious. Bread was fresh and yummy. Ate here with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate his father's birthday and had an overall pleasant experience. We went on a Saturday night around 7pm and it was packed and pretty busy. Upon entering I discovered just how small on the inside the place is. The main dining room is small with as many tables and chairs as it can fit, but the area where you enter and talk to the maitre-d to be seated is especially tiny. We had to wait a bit to be seated and while waiting we were cramped awkwardly in the small space and we were a party of five; needless to say there is not much space inside the building for people to wait for seating. The restaurant has an overall charming and cozy atmosphere and appearance. Our waitress Brianna was very friendly and helpful. We ordered two appetizers and although they didn't quite look appetizing, both made up for it adequately enough in taste. I tried some of the calamari and thought they tasted good. They also served me a delicious vegetable side that I greatly enjoyed. My true complaint is in regards to the service here. During our nearly two hour stay we found service to be very slow. We had to wait quite a while for our orders to be taken and to get our food. I am not blaming the slowness of the service on our waittress, but overall I think it's an issues with the restaurant's kitchen and staff. I noticed periodically throughout the night that our waitress looked incredibly busy serving other tables which led me to believe that the restaurant had a lack of staffing issue. If that is an issue for every busy night then they should hire more staff. The food overall was good. I personally enjoy a nice delicious big plate of alredo fettuccine and the one from this restaurant did not disappoint; however, I did notice that my food wasn't quite as hot as I expected it to be like something would be fresh out of the kitchen. My boyfriend also complained that his pasta side-dish had parts of it that was on the cold side. This led me to suspect that our food had sat slightly too long in the window before finally being picked up and served to us; that or the chefs hadn't made our food simultaneously. Again this all just points to how sluggish the service was. Despite that however, the biggest highlight of the night was when our waitress brought out a big complimentary cannoli with a lit candle for the birthday dad. We each tried some of it and it was delicious. I thought it was kind of them to do that and it showed that they seemed to care at least about customers (and if not at least they made an effort to pretend to care, but I'm sure it was genuine). There was also a nice elderly lady there who took some time to make sure we were satisfied with things so far. I should add that this place is a little on the pricier side. All main dishes were $18 and up for the most part, so if you come here and don't buy any appetizers be prepared to spend around $20 for yourself or per person. The portions can vary too depending on what you order, so keep that in mind as well. Overall it was a wonderful experience despite all the waiting, and I would encourage anyone to come here, even if it's only on a special occasion, and try this place.

Me and my fiancé went to Armando’s for a valentine’s day dinner. The food was delicious, I ordered their vodka sauce pasta and it was one of the best i’ve had in the area. But sadly our service was absolutely awful. When asking for their non alcoholic drink options she left out most of them and we only realized by watching other tables get their drinks. I understand valentine’s day can be a busy day as well so we let that slide. But then we saw multiple other tables who came in after us be helped before our food order was even taken. After we finally got our food our waitress never once checked in on us and we had to flag her down after being finished eating for 30 minutes just to receive our check. We were there for 2 hours and maybe 20 minutes was eating, the rest was just waiting for her to come back to the table. Our appetizer was honestly cold as well and I assume it had been sitting before it was brought out but the main dishes were hot. Im hoping this was just a fluke due to the busyness of the day but I personally won’t be back for a while.

Portion size was great but the food is very bland. Ordered eggplant Parm and my husband ordered the stuffed steak. Tiramisu was flavorless. The bread is precut bread you buy from the store. Nothing really stands out about this restaurant..

Had a reservation and we got there 5 minutes before the time, 7. Forty-five minutes later we are seated. Another group bigger than our group gets seated right after us. They had a reservation later than ours and got served their food first. Service wasn't bad. Food wasn't bad but I don't know if I would go again.

The chicken Parm was horrible! The texture was mushy. The sauce was good. The waitress, Patricia, was slow and gave an attitude. She was not overly friendly at all and almost seemed put out that she had to wait on us. I'm not sure we will give the restaurant another chance.

There were four of us for dinner....the grilled pork chops were excellent. Two of our party ordered the scallops and they were disappointing....very bland. The last meal was the broiled haddock....quite dry. We've been here numerous times but tonight was far from what I've come to expect from Armando's.....

I attended a Christmas eve gathering where the host ordered the food from here. I was looking forward to trying everything because I had heard so many fantastic reviews and I was extremely disappointed as was the host! The meatballs were like those little frozen meatballs you cab get in the market the supposed baked ziti was nothing more than cheap box ziti smothered on a very terrible sauce and the roasted potatoes were burnt and unedable......I understand the holidays are a busy time but what resteraunt would send this out is beyond me.....I surely would never go or order from here based on this experience and I told my friend the host I'd demand a total refund.......

I’m just overall disgusted with this place. The owner seems engaged but the staff is horrible and probably taking advantage of her! My dish personally was tomato soup sauce and the chicken might have been from aldis!! Never going back!

Went with my wife for our anniversary. First they stick us at a small table in the back right next to a.work station and blinds that had pieces missing. I ordered a steak but was delivered a chicken Parm. Just not a good night anf food was only average. We felt disrespected and I dont see us going back anytime soon

Was given a gift card with reciept they said it had a zero balance. The owner would call me. Ordered many of times, now the person who gave us the 50.00 gift card will going Monday... Owner never called seems like a scam... Felt bad telling the person but this is crazy and happen to someone else we know.
