Consistently excellent service and grade A fried chicken. They have rarely messed up my order, and they have gone above and beyond to correct it in those rare events they made a mistake. Yes the lines can be long, but the wait isn't bad considering their popularity and it's clear the staff is working as quickly as possible. I do think they could improve their mac and cheese, but I'm not docking any stars for that.

Employees were awesome as usual. Service was fast in the drive thru. Make sure though that you tell them you are in the car club. I have my sticker on the front of my car right below my registration sticker because it's easier for them to see rather than the back of my car. Food was hot and fresh. Overall great experience; it always is.

Our go-to fried chicken spot. The managers here do a great job of teaching a well mannered, polite, friendly staff with a clean restaurant.

Always great food. Chicken is juicy with great flavor, mashed potatoes and gravy are delicious plus the tea makes it a good nights dinner. Plus staff is usually very helpful and if it's your first time they'll help you out on choices.

Fried chicken place like you would expect. I like bushes better than the other like KFC or golden fried. I like their fries when they're fresh and their chicken when it's fresh out of the fryer. Otherwise I could take or leave it just like any other place. Service is always friendly though. But I specifically ask for chicken and fries right out of the fryer and sometimes I get them that way and sometimes I don't. I love their fries when they're golden fresh right out of the hot grease. Not reheated or under heat lamp.

The drive thru is one of a kind with the staff coming out to your car and making it a personal experience . I ordered the chicken tenders. They are super crunchy and a big serving. Quick, friendly, and accurate service even when they are busy. We love their chicken - batter has terrific crunch and isn't over salted. Hubby and daughter crave the fried okra, but for me it's the cream gravy! Do yourself a favor and grab a gallon of tea too!

We moved to Texas a few months ago. We had no idea that the best fried chicken place was this. Juice tender chicken, even the chicken breast! And, they allow us to select the types of chicken we want (with the exception of the chicken breasts), unlike other fried chicken places where they have set quantities for each type. We also love the fried liver and gizzard! They also provide ketchup, honey, hot sauce, seasoned salt and napkins in each table. Very thoughtful!

I like Bushes Fried Chicken. These flavorful pieces of chicken are larger than other places and more crispy. I particularly prefer dark meat, and routinely order thighs. It's also a GREAT value. If I want a meal combo, I get the green beans and either the mashed potatoes with cream gravy, or the coleslaw. Their tea is also quite good.

Great chicken and great service. This has become my go-to place for those "I don't feel like cooking" nights. The crunchy fried batter on the chicken and tenders is just as delicious as the chicken itself. The sides are all awesome and they have something for everyone. The chicken is very flavorful and juicy not dry. The rolls are soft and buttery. The family sized portioned sides actually feed 4-6 people! Over all they are the best chicken place in town!

I'll take this from the least favorable part of the review to the most favorable. The decor is about what you'd expect from a place like this. We never eat in though, so it doesn't really matter that much what it looks like. The regular chicken here is very good, it's not way better than Popeye's or even KFC, but it is somewhat better. I think the pieces are a little bigger here. The real standout here is the Chicken Tenders. They are always fabulous. We just moved to Round Rock a little less than a year ago, and this is the place my kids all want to go when they're hungry. Their eyes light up when I say we're going to Bush's for dinner! Each kid loves something different too, some love the tenders, others love the rolls, another the potatoes, and another the mac n cheese. My wife never liked white gravy until she ate here. Now she loves it on the tenders. We've tried all the other chicken places here, and this is the one we love the best. The service is outstanding here. They take your order in person, go back inside for about 2 seconds, and come back out with everything ready to go. I've never had an order messed up there. I think they have some kind of Santa Clause magic going on somehow, because I don't see how they get it done so quickly. If you're a fried chicken fan, this is the place to go in Round Rock.

I loved my visit here. I’ve been craving the corn nuggets for some time now but my husband has never had Bush’s chicken. He was skeptical because he’s a very picky man from up north and likes his chicken a certain way. But immediately he melted once he tasted our food and said it reminded him of the chicken back home. He wanted a biscuit but they only served rolls which I told him it’s worth trying but he said no. Yet they gave us a complimentary roll anyways and he fell in love with those too!!!!!!! Loved the location, it was fast and clean. Totally coming to this location from now on.

One of the last affordable places to get a tasty bite. So glad we went. We've been eating here for decades, it's just so good. Definitely try those corn bites. Amazing 🎶 Sidenote: Get extra potatoes too, You get enough greater for an army.. but the tater carton empties way too easy.

Wasn't so sure about it the first time... with loads of gravy and pale crispy chicken...but then you find yourself craving for it. It's now become a regular in our quick-eat rotation. I wish they had more appealing sides and the fries weren't so soggy... but it's good. The confusing drive up line is a mess and they have a real hard time staying on top of who's next. I think they get it wrong about 1/3 of the time... but they are very nice and are trying. Here's a pro tip. Get the poppers as your side, and if you want to order fries too, make that an extra side order. Save $$

The concept here is simple: make really good chicken and yeast rolls and serve it up fast. We never eat in. The drive-through is shockingly fast. There isn't a ton of variety beyond the chicken, rolls and gravy. There are a few sides. None of them are worth writing home about, but they're alright. So we just don't stray from what they're good at.

My favorite fried chicken place. The food is always very good and tastes fresh, the fried foods is not greasy. The drive thru is lightning fast and the workers are always friendly and know their menu really well.

Bush's is so good! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because every time we've been inside to eat, there's always lots of dirty tables and everything is greasy.. But the food is really good! Not too many places offer chicken gizzards and livers anymore, but if you like that sort of thing, Bush's gizzards and livers are really really delicious! I am also a big fan of their ongoing support for RRISD in general with their generous donations and fundraiser assistance. Its just great when the local businesses support our kiddos, and it makes me happy to support them right back!!

I don't know why I have been ignoring this place for so long. This is some damn good chicken. I like how the person taking your order makes your order before you pay. I would give 5 stars if they would include mash potatoes with the tender plates like all the other places do. Sorry guys, I can get them at other locations for the same price or cheaper. What is it about chicken places having awesome tea? Anyway, still not my #1 chicken house.

I love the fried chicken coating. I wish they had coupons for smaller meals for single diners, and they need to provide paper towels instead of those flimsy, dissolving, tiny napkins for takeout orders.

It's your basic fried chicken fare, with some delightful twists, and economical enough to feed a large family without breaking the bank. Their drive-through is fast (three lanes!) and personable (they walk up to take your order, no squalk-boxes here!) They also have less-common dish: liver & gizzards. Their rolls are great. My only food complaint: their family-size sides are enough for four, so you may need to get extras for a large group.

I came on 2/9 and my order was messed up but I called and the manger took care of me with replacing my order on my next visit. The young lady Rainey that waited on me was the friendliest and most helpful person. Very pleased and I will go back again.

Love the chicken and food here. Food is fresh and usually consistent. Staff is friendly. My only complaint is the drive through efficiency. During busy/peak hours the drive through is really slow and ineffective. Still recommend eating here though. Staff is friendly.

One of my favorite places to eat at in town. People have always been pretty friendly and good to me here. They always remind me of my hometown too, because Bush's Chicken started in Hewitt, TX. I've always really liked Bush's Chicken's tenders and sweet or half-n-half tea (especially the gallon size). They also tend to have pretty good chicken pieces (though I could do without the small amount of meat on the wings...but that is probably more attributed to the chicken it came from itself and not much to do with Bush's Chicken). I really like their breading also. Bush's Chicken is always good about putting a lot of crunchy, dry breading on their chicken (especially their tenders...the best IMO). When you eat their tenders here the breading is crunchy and dry, but once you bite past the breading the meat of the tender is nice and moist. The only reason for not having all 5 stars is because all Bush's Chickens in general sometimes seem to either over-bake their rolls or the rolls are just too dry (or both). That and the fries are almost always soggy at any Bush's Chicken you go to (I'm more of a dry, crunchy fries kind of person).

Chicken is good but their gizzard are trash! It was like chewing through salty rubber. Hope they figure out how to make them edible. If anyone eats them a 2nd time they dont know good gizzards. Good gravy and bread. Staff friendly enough. The young girl looked a little lost but she might have been new. I will go back for the chicken, but not them poor excuses for gizzard.

The three stars is the average of combination of service and food. Five stars goes to the respectful young lady who got my order. She didn't get confused by my asking for half sweetened & half unsweetened tea. That usually gets a "Huh?" at other places. The tea itself gets zero stars. It was weak and nasty. This was my first trip to a Bush's Chicken. Their claim to fame is supposed to be their chicken strips. Really? I'd swear they must use the same supplier as Church's. Pale breading on chicken strips that either are formed by a machine, using mechanically-separated bits not used for pet food, mixed with meat glue (an actual thing, folks; thank you, "How It's Made") and extruded to look like whole chicken pieces, or it's shot so full of chemicals to tenderise the meat, it makes me wonder what it would be like without such wonder of modern food chemistry. Either way, one star, and that's for having the sense of humor to call this chicken. To the unit manager: I hope you pay your people well. The sweet, respectful young lady with the Mickey puffs was the highlight of my visit. She's a keeper!

mediocre experience ordered a 2 piece with 2 breasts that were over cooked, dry, and under seasoned. Okra was great could have used a little more salt. However the livers and the tea were fantastic and worth coming again just to get those items.

I love fried chicken :) and Bush's is generally consistent, really crispy chicken. Staff is always quick and friendly even when they're busy... and they stay busy! Bush's is actually one of my favorites, so this is gonna hurt. The standard just seems to be slipping. I wish the crust wasn't so pasty-light....it never looks golden/done. Maybe that's on purpose, bc it's definitely consistent, so it really misses on visual appeal. And the last 2 times, the chicken tenders have been anything but tender. They were rubbery and TOUGH - NOT their norm.🫤 (you're lucky Cain's isn't selling boxes of 20 tenders) And lastly, the sides really need to be addressed. The Mac is just bad - wow. The potatoes taste very "typical" and fake. Can't someone figure out real mashed potatoes for a fried chicken joint??? Dare to be better, for crying out loud. And the sweet tea is pure sugar water, no tea flavor. They are becoming about the masses and really need to get back some quality control and up their game. It's close, but not great right now. And if a better place opened?..... I'm just sayin'🤷‍♀️

Bush's is my favorite chicken place, and the chicken didn't let me down... But something else sure did. This is the first location I've been to where they won't let me substitute the gravy for ranch. I don't eat the gravy. I don't want the gravy. Every other location I've been to in Killeen, Temple, Belton, Cameron, Brenham or Austin has let me. But not this one. Useless!

Craving Raising Cane’s but with none nearby and a kiddo who only eats tenders, we decided to give this place a try. My wife was especially excited—she’s been wanting gizzards for a while (not sure why!), but I stuck to non-organ as I am a normal human being. I ordered the tender value meal with corn-on-the-cob, a kids meal with fries, and a liver/gizzards combo for her. The tenders were pretty small and honestly a bit sad. The corn wasn’t stale but was super mediocre, and the fries were among the blandest I’ve ever had—definitely down there with the worst. As for the gizzards, my wife actually enjoyed them! She found the liver a bit too pungent but liked the gizzards overall. A couple of other things to note: the bathroom had no paper towels, and the floors throughout the restaurant were kind of sticky. On the plus side, the service was super nice. The cashier was incredibly helpful, patient, and considerate in explaining the menu to us, which I really appreciated. All in all, though, the food leaves a lot to be desired, especially the tenders. There are definitely better ones almost anywhere else. I might still come back to try the fried chicken, but overall it feels more like a nostalgic place for locals rather than a tasty meal. 2.5 rounded up cuz of the service.

Would you rather eat at Popeyes or Bush Chicken? After moving from Louisiana to Texas, this is my first time ever eating at Bush's Chicken and I prefer to eat at Popeyes based on quality, taste, and price. Let's get started on each item, shall we? Fried Okra - 2/5 - was very mushy and lacked taste. Bad texture and NOT crispy Pepper Popper - 4/5 - Unique, great texture. Cheese taste like Texas's dry sinkwater which I strangely like the taste for some reason. Better than Louisiana's swamp tasting sinkwater. Mashed Potato - 3/5 Texture and quality is similar to my memories of cafeteria food in High School. Children would love it! Parents would hate it! It's not real mashed potatoes by the way. Popeyes has far better. Gravy - 3/5 Gravy wasn't that groovy baby 15pc of mixed Fried Chicken - 3/5 Better texture than Popeyes, however, much less flavor. Maybe the chicken itself is going through Post- Covid syndrome. It has no taste and a lack of that seasoned smell. Popeyes has better tasting chicken. Say all you want about quality. If it doesn't have flavor, it does not taste good. Portions are a plus here, but not worth $40!!! That's insane to me. Rolls (bread) 5/5 The only thing they have here that's better than Popeye's is the bread. Should of changed the franchise name to Bush's bread because you guys are on a roll! There you have it folks, Bush's Bread because you will roll pass their chicken for that dough. I haven't tried their sweet tea yet because the lady who took my order forgot to my bring my tea. So I have to tea bag my own. Overrall experience would be 3/5 and that's just for the drive-thru convience, pepper popper, and bread. I would reccomend trying other fried chicken establishments. The drive thru process is bad. Three cars behind me were helped before I just left. I pulled up to the front of the line and instead of walking to me multiple people walked to the cars behind me. The food is normally pretty decent, but that drive thru process is frustrating. 7:45pm 11/12/2020

All other locations have the Tender Tuesday deal of around 12+ tenders, 2 family sides and 4 drinks for $10 but this one... so I had to order less and ended up being hungry in the end. I have a big appetite and need 12+ tenders just for me.

I was not satisfied with the quality of my food. Called to speak with manager. He tried to downplay my experience. I'm done with the Bush chicken so sad. I will return with my pictures to prove my point. It's a sad day in America....

This review is based on an incident recently. I’m not one to post reviews so this one stuck out. We drive through bush’s once every 1-2 months so not too often. My wife grew up in Waco so she has a special affinity for it. We drove through on 7/17 and ordered a 30-pack family meal, feeding 8 people…when we got home we realized they only gave us 20 tenders (the difference is $12). We were frustrated we didn’t have enough to feed everyone their normal meal. I told myself I would talk to manager next time I went…with a large family, nobody has time to call the restaurant. I went last night, 8/11 and ordered something similar…one extra side. I explained to the nice girl taking our order of the situation and I told her I would talk to a manager about it. She came back and asked me if I called the restaurant after it happened. I had the receipt but I did not call…we were too busy to call the place. It was obvious the manager was using the young employee to talk to me instead of talking to me himself. After 3 back and forth conversations with me, the young girl brings out 10 extra tenders to make up for it. This made no sense to me. I don’t need extra food than what I ordered…I need a refund or discount on the food I’m ordering now to make up for being over charged the last time I was there. I communicated that so the girl went back and told the manager. She comes back and says okay, I’ll need the 10 extra tenders back (I hope they didn’t serve them to others). The manager came out to my car for literally 5 seconds and asks if it still wanted the extra side (4 instead of 3). I said I did…I knew exactly what he was doing. Sure enough, I was charged essentially the same amount again because the 20- count only comes with 2 sides and not 3 so I was charged for 2 extra sides. So comical. And I had a hungry family so I just left. I told my family we won’t be going back there again unless something happens. The service has been abysmal the last two visits. I didn’t even mention the wait in line last night. I watched as car after car were served before me…not sure if minivans are avoided? Cars arriving 5 minutes after me were served (orders taken) before. Even after I got to the front of the line, cars 3 deep were being helped before me. Sorry if this sounds overly dramatic. For a guy who very rarely writes reviews, this abysmal service really set me off. There is no point in going there again if they don’t take their customers seriously and knowingly rip them off. I didn’t rate it a one star because they do have .69 teas. Lol

Went here on Feb 5, and was greeted by female in blue shirt. Ordered one meal and provided sides I wanted, and ordered another one as well. They attendant wanted my card, and then went off to get my order together. She came back with the drinks and a bag. I get home live in Garth north side of town, only to discover I didn’t get a meal I ordered. Upon looking at the receipt discovered didn’t get charged for the meal but charged for the sides. This required me to go to another place to get additional food, which was closer to home, and spend an additional $16. The extra sides from bush’s were thrown away, almost $5 wasted due to this. All told this extra trip cost me almost an additional hour for travel and waiting for it to be ready. Past several times we have been here the chicken was small, dry and chewy. Not sure if it was older or cooked to lomg for the chewy and dry portion. The drinks were more ice than beverage. Overall the value isn’t there when compared to other fast food alternatives. This could have been avoided if Bush’s written down order and confirmed what was ordered. I get your busy, but this is common sense that can avoid bad experiences. Additionally if you have social media, use it, and if you’re not delete it. Would have preferred to discuss this through other means, but when you fail to second and no updates on platforms for over a year….

I am a loyal customer and have been going to the round rock location for 10+ yrs and in the past the food quality has always been excellent until more recent the chicken quality has changed mainly in the size of their chicken they are now no better then Popeyes or church's chicken so there's is no reason for me to go there anymore because they are no better then the rest....very disappointed!

I went to Bushes today to get a snack after work, I ordered two tender rolls. I opened the bag ate one of my rolls and got the second one and it was all roll and a broken tiny piece of tender. I know the line was long and sometimes you guys get busy. But you have to make sure your making ppls food correctly. It was only $2 and some change, but I couldn’t go back because I would be late for work.

I went to this location My order was taken I asked for everything to be freshly cooked my gizzards she told some are made they can re fry the gizzards I said please no they will be he ard I got the order they were hard I even hurt my gums on the the food they would not make me a fresh order um going to get my gums checked out I hope I don't need a lawyer.

I was served old gizzards and chicken. The food was cold and tough. I informed them and they got mad that tried to tell me it came straight out of fryer. She took it from me and refried the same food I gave her. Also, there was pieces of white plastic in my cup of ice that I cut my mouth on. I also bought a bag of ice and When it melted it was white water. This place is unsanitary and they do not care at all.

I was totally ignored by the woman that said couldn't hear me. After repeating myself, she just turned around and walked away to other cars. Rudest customer service I have ever experienced. Told the manager that I will NEVER return to this Bush's location. Ever.

Eat here all the time, but this had to be by far the worst chicken strip dinner ever. ordered a 6pc got like 4.5 strips that were edible. about half the fries as normal. extremely disappointed in tonight's meal

Never again. ⅒-star Over 11$$ for 3 small chicken legs (sized for fourth graders), tasteless, watery mac and cheese, tasteless, fake mashed potatoes. Just in time for dinner.

This is the closest bushs chicken to me but I’m gonna drive further to another location. I ordered a family meal of tenders & they forgot the rolls that came with it, fries are cold, the cheese on the Mac n cheese looked old. I’m still gonna get bush’s but just definitely not from here anymore

I was given a poor greeting as if the employee behind the register didn't want to take my order, and after I have placed my order the employee was slamming my box down on the counter and aggressively threw them into the bag. Especially grabbing me a gallon of sweet tea and just carelessly placed it on the counter in front of me. I tried to be nice and told the employe to have a good day, but they just ended up scoffing at me and walk away to the back. The food is good, but the customer service is a massive deterrent of wanting to go back.

The food picked up this evening was awful. The chicken was cold and old,,French fries cold and soggy. I threw most in the trash.

I got old reheated black chicken livers. Big disappointment. I had stomach surgery a couple months and I’ve been craving chicken livers so disappointed I ended up throwing them away. 12:00 on Saturday. shouldn’t the food be fresh? They look like they’ve been in my refrigerator for a week and popped in the microwave to heat. It’s a five minute drive home. They were ice cold.
