The classic must-order menu at Sun Nong Dan is their Galbi Jjim. This time we try their Koh Galbi Jjim. The only difference from their regular Galbi Jjim is that this one comes with an ox tail. We got the medium size and the portion is big enough for 3 people. You get to choose if you want purple rice or white rice to come with it. You can add cheese and they will do a little show for you to record the cheese being torched in front of you, but we didn’t add any cheese this time. For the sauce, you can choose if you want it not spicy or spicy (there are 5 spiciness levels); we chose level 2 and it’s not too spicy, you can still taste the sweetness. Other than the 3 meat cuts, there are also potatoes, carrots, onion, and rice cake on this side. Overall, just a perfect combination that we can’t get enough of! Alright, everyone orders #24 Galbi Jjim - yes, superb delicious! Braised short rib and back rib are so well-prepared! Recommended to add cheese for a much completed taste! The meats are mixed well with those Banchan provided with unlimited refills. The portion is great for 3-4 person easily. Ya, open 24hr non-stop. A great spot even during midnight.
Sun Nong Don is a traditional Korean soup restaurant that you can have for lunch or dinner. I came here with my friend for lunch and we ordered two different soups. Our server YH was really nice and super sweet! The ox knee soup is delicious and a must order if you love having collagen! You can put salt which is on the table and also add green onions in it. We also ordered a spicy beef short rib in soup with fried cabbage and that was also delicious! Overall we had a fun lunch and would come back here again! :)
Have visited three different Sun Nong Dan restaurants; all have very stable food quality and the same taste. This location is not as crowded as the ones in Ktown, but there might still be some waits. #23 (dish name: Tong Ma Neul Yang Gopchang Bok Geum) is very good; all our friends loved it!
This place had the best food and atmosphere! It was our first time there, and our server Rylee was super helpful with recommendations. We had a great time, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone in town!
Absolutely loved this place! The service was fantastic—our waitress (YH) was amazing. She recommended dish #4, and it was so good. Super flavorful and definitely worth trying. 😃
YH was our server, with two others, and very accommodating. Good service! Good has been very consistent and good. I always have#12 and the quality has been the same for the last 3 years.
The food is amazing! My favorite is number 10! Their chives kimchi is super good!!! The waiter was very good! He checked on us and bought out the ban Chan without being asked!!
My mother told us that this place has the best soup in the city. Oh boy, she wasn't lying. The selection of soup noodles is plenty! We only tried one of the beef stew. It was delicious. And they are not shy about portions as well. If you are a big eater of meat. This is your place. One can also ask for extra meat! We also ordered the $99 dollar big bowl of meat with cheese. If you order it with cheese. The guy with the flame thrower will show up to give you a show. It was more than enough for a party of 4. It can even easily feed a party of 6. The service here is fast! And they also bring you the usual Korean side dishes as well. We got three different kimchi. It would be nice if one of the side dishes is not spicy. My mom said she got different side dishes the last time she was here. It could be that they rotate them. As for the atmosphere. It is loud! They turn their Korean pop music up... Really up. Also the table arrangements are set up to fit as many customers as the restaurant can. Not an ideal place for a quiet night or even a date night. Great place for a gathering of friends and family.
Came around midnight and there were a decent amount of people in but we were seated right away. The food was amazing. Side dishes were so tasty! We got the Galbi Jjim with cheese and rice cakes and it was perfect! We split it with 4 people and it was more than enough food for us. Would highly recommend!
A bit of loud music. But...total service was satisfying by our server Dong Gyu. He was nice...energetic...and so speedy service that we all wanted. Good food.. supported by our server Dony Gyu. A BIG thumbs up here
Love their soup. The portion is good and the taste is amazing! They are popular so expect a line.
We had a great meal at this restaurant. We had Galbi tang, sulung tang, and ooguhji tang, everything was so great. Especially thanks YH, my waitress, for your amazing service. Will come and visit again!
Su Non Dang is truly one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always flavorful, authentic, and comforting — every dish feels like it’s made with care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is consistently attentive. It’s the kind of place I can return to again and again, knowing the experience will always be satisfying.
5 Stars. Overall. This place is SO yummy! We had a party of 9 and shared 3 dishes: #23 #24 and one other large dish, Can’t recall which. Regardless, everything melt in my mouth, including all the side dishes and the purple rice. Still droolling just thinking about it. It was most, if not all, of our first time dining at this restaurant. We were quietly eating away at first, because it was simply so good. Just added this to one of my favorite restaurants list. :) Will try other dishes on the menu next time.
Had lunch here with my coworkers and absolutely loved it! The stir-fried tripe was sizzling on a hot stone plate with garlic, chili peppers, and onions — so flavorful! The seolleongtang, kimchi, and rice were comforting and delicious. Big thanks to Ms.YH for the kind and attentive service. We’ll definitely be back!
From the environment to the service to the dishes, everything exceeds expectations. The signature dish [specific dish name] tastes amazing, the ingredients are fresh and the amount is sufficient, and the waiter is considerate and professional throughout the whole process. I have recommended it to my friends and will become a repeat customer!
Great for parties 4 or more. Get the cheese, it's worth it! Press the bell for great service. This location is way better than the Western Ave location near K town. Last but not least, I'm addicted to the spicy grass they serve. Update 12/09/23: Finally came here and did not get the big entree with the cheese thing. Actually got an individual soup, the honeycomb, tripe, beef soup which was medium spicy and amazing because it doesn't include noodles but comes with lots of green grass looking stuff.
I have heard raving reviews about the soup but the galbi-jim is what we came here for. this galbi-jim portion is huge and brimming with meat. the potato and teok are cooked to perfection and soak up all that delicious flavor. the banchan pair perfectly with the dish. I like eating the pickled onion with the beef to cut through the spice. I really like this spot bc the galbi-jim isn't as sweet as other spots and the medium spice is the perfect level. this place is the most worth it for galbi-jim when considering size and flavor. a large can easier feed 4 ppl, 5 ppl if you are smaller eater. also SND is open 24hrs!
No other place like this anywhere. I pray that they open one in Las Vegas. Whenever I've traveled to LA, I've always eaten here. Service n food can't be beat. Excellent service. Only place that can match is the one in Koreatown. Same store on Western n 7th. This store is better because they open 24 hours AND a lots of parking lot. No valet service. I'd give 7 stars out of 5.
4.5/5 The Yukgaejang and Galbitang were really good. Prices are what you’d expect going to a Korea restaurant. Service was fast and the workers were nice. -0.5 only because the side dishes didn’t really wow us (There were only 4)…. And the beef in the Yukgaejang was a little too sweet for my taste. Not what I’m used to when ordering Yukgaejang but that’s just personal preference. The amount of food was good overall. 2 orders came up around $52~ (18% tip included)
I had a great experience dining here. The food was good but what truly stood out was how friendly and attentive you was Yh made us feel very welcomed throughout the entire meal. Thank you for the wonderful service.
It was like finding an oasis in the desert. As every time in the early morning on Sunday, I happened to find a Korean restaurant while thinking about what to eat. A Korean restaurant open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which is somewhat unfamiliar in the United States. First of all, the taste is authentic and it's a restaurant with clean atmosphere and hygiene also very kind service was. In Korea, there are many 24-hour restaurants that you can eat when you drink late with your friends or go out early in the morning, so I could feel a lot of Korean. The time I visited the transplant party was 7 o'clock in the morning. How many restaurants can I eat with soup at that time? If you want to know the taste of Korea and Korean culture, I recommend you to visit. I ate seolleongtang and yukgaejang in the popular breakfast that Koreans enjoyed, but the other food also looked delicious. The price of the breakfast special menu is $11.99. I recommend you to go here instead of the fast food restaurant breakfast menu. if you don't have any objection to Asian culture. I hope you can feel how comfortable it is if you put warm soup in your stomach.
Inviting environment and staff. Restaurant was clean and homey. My friends and i got the giant i forgot the name it was $90 but it fed the 4 probably could feed 5 pretty well. Sauce was flavorful and spicy. Meat was piled up. It's definitely a good hangover meal or if you want something decadent. Also the banchan seemed to be unlimited? I could be wrong but we got a second round of kimchi for free so.
So glad Sun Song Dan finally opened a Rowland Heights location...no more long drives to KTown! And the best part? They’re open 24/7, so you can satisfy your Korean comfort food cravings anytime. Their Galbi Tang is hands down one of the best in California. The tender short ribs in a rich, flavorful broth that’s both soothing and satisfying. The Galbi Jjim is on of the best I've had in Socal. Super tender, perfectly braised in a savory-sweet sauce that melts in your mouth. If you love a little heat, their Yukgaejang is a must-try as well. It's spicy, hearty, and packed with flavor. The banchan (side dishes) are always fresh and plentiful, with generous refills that make the meal even better. Service is quick and efficient, even during busy hours. Whether it’s a late-night bite or a hearty meal with friends, Sun Song Dan always hits the spot. Highly recommend!
My experience was from a delivery app, but I had to post since the food, packing, and condiments blew me away. Ordered the Won Gi Tang and it came with so much meat, it was good for 2-3 meals. The banchan for a delivery order was pretty awesome as well. Will definitely try again and hope to try in person next time.
10/10/24 The dining experience was remarkable, with each meat dish delivering a rich, mouthwatering flavor. I highly recommend the #24 Galbi Jjim and #25 Koh Galbi Jjim; both were exceptional and exemplified the best of Korean cuisine. Moreover, the service was impressive—friendly and prompt, contributing to a delightful overall experience.
Great service and food! We split the medium galbi jjim with cheese and rice cakes between 2 people and still had plenty for leftovers. The dish included potato and other veggies and they torch the cheese in front of you. Beef ribs were tender but minor issue was some parts were slightly overcooked and a little dry. I loved their fresh napa cabbage kimchi in their banchan. Server was attentive and gave us banana and strawberry milks! Overall great place for a late night meal.
I'm here once a week for the #7 Galbi Tang, and it's super convenient that this place is open 24/7. Side dishes are all tasty and it's one of my go-to spots. Staff is very helpful but the wait is typically quite long.
My very time having Koran food for breakfast! I have to say it’s quite satisfying 🤣 we order the beef soup and the spicy beef. Next time if I come for breakfast, I will leave the salt 🤣 I was so sleepy and accidentally put in too much salt into my soup 😭。 Don’t get me wrong, I love this place, their beef rib soup is the best!!
Splendid service and generous portion. It was Sunday night 8PM, and I was expecting a long wait time for a group of 4. But, it only takes 20 mins to have us seated. The front of the house was so efficient and responsive, like Sizhang, JD, Min, Jack, and others. Specially Sizhang who carried out the fire show(See picture). The #24 galbi Jim is definitely a must try. You will get the fire show with cheese add on. One more thing is their kimchi, I can surely tell they are made fresh in the restaurant, not sour at all like those kimchi you can buy from the Korean grocery. With the winter closing by, I will visit here again.
Usually places that are open 24 hours are questionably filthy, but this place soothed my 4AM post-inebriation needs. Yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) was piping hot, perfectly spicy, but all the while flavorful. Great portions too. Banchan was delightful and service was even more so. Would definitely come back (anytime of the day).
I love coming to Sun Nong Dan for their Korean beef bone soup, it’s so warm and healing. The Galbi Jjim is also really good. It’s a big portion, so I usually only get it when I’m with a group of friends. The service is quick and it’s clean inside. During peak dinner times you do have to wait a bit.
We ordered #3 and #12 based on friend's recommendations, and they are really, really good. The service was also quick, and they laid out the side dishes like 2 min after we sit. Really nice restaurant. Only thing is that the food is not as cheap as I hoped for (I came from SF): $20-ish for both. But that's still a pretty solid price.
Very interesting place for Korean food. Be prepare to pack and bring home leftover because you most definitely will have. I think the should have put on menu that most items are shareable. Portions to are just too large. The soups are great and not to large but probably can be shared by 2 people. Meats are very tasty. The mixed beef soup is very good. They leave it up to you to add salt. That's why there's a jar of sea salt on each table. Overall it was a great dining experience. The place is very trendy. I recommend you to have more than 4 people to really enjoy the variety of food.
I recently dined at Sun Nong Dan on a Sunday for lunch. Although it was quite busy, there was no wait time at 1:30! The koh galbi jjim with cheese was absolutely delicious - savory and flavorful. We had a large group and were worried about the serving size not being enough, but ended up having way more than enough food, which is definitely a good problem to have. Our server, YH, was super attentive and helped us navigate the menu, making the whole experience seamless. Highly recommend Sun Nong Dan for great food and service!
I visited Sun Nong Dan in Rowland Heights, and this is a great place to experience Korean soul food, especially traditional beef soup dishes. They offer a variety of beef soups, and you can choose based on the type of meat you prefer. The restaurant is also well known for its Galbi Jjim, which seems to be a signature menu loved by many customers. However, the Galbi Jjim is a bit on the expensive side. Since I personally enjoy Seolleongtang, I ordered the beef bone soup along with Sliced Ox Head Soup, and both dishes were rich, comforting, and very satisfying. Another great advantage of this restaurant is that you can enjoy a meal early in the morning, which makes it very convenient. Overall, I think this is a good value restaurant considering the quality and portion size. If you want to try Korean soul food, especially authentic beef soup, I highly recommend visiting this place. #KoreanFood #Seolleongtang #SunNongDan #BeefSoup #KoreanSoulFood #RowlandHeights #LAEats
This place never disappoints! Got here around noon on a Sunday and there was tons of seating still. We got the Galbi Jim with cheese and rice cakes and it was soooo good. Bring an appetite. Our server YH was extremely attentive and cut all of the meat off the bone for us! Definitely coming back soon
I always love coming and eating the best Korean soup here at Sun Nong Dan. This place never disappoints and is just an amazing place to come eat at. Not only is the food delicious but the service is amazing and they always make me feel welcomed and at home. YH has great customer service skills and she personally always make me feel heard when they’re busy.
I’ve always loved seolleongtang (Korean ox bone soup), and I’ve tried various Sun Nong Dan locations across L.A. — but the Rowland Height branch stands out as the best in both flavor and service. The broth here is incredibly rich and satisfying, and the amount of meat they serve is generous, easily rivaling — or even surpassing — what you’d get at top restaurants in Korea. It never disappoints when I’m craving real Korean comfort food. What makes the experience even better is the service. The servers don’t rotate frequently, which gives the place a warm, familiar feel. Yumi, in particular, always greets customers with a bright smile, making every meal feel even more enjoyable. If they ever open a Fullerton location, that would be a dream — closer to home and more reason to go more often! But for now, this place is worth the drive every time. Highly recommend it whenever you’re in the mood for something hearty, flavorful, and deeply satisfying.

My co-workers and I favorite korean restaurant, our go to is the Galbi Jjim. This is always a hit for lunch. The atmosphere is always great.
Always good food and service. YH was a great server. Would definitely recommend for people craving korean food
We, a family of 4 adults, ordered the famous Koh Galbi Jjim (#25 on menu) which is a type of braised beef short ribs, back ribs, and oxtails with potatoes. We added cheese and it was blow torch to me…
This is the best Korean soup (Tang style) in town. My son love it so much and the side dishes are also great. I will visit again when I m around.

Finally was able to try this place, after have it on my list over 2 years. I would like to say that it is pretty good… but this place is expensive. I believe I would come to try their Galbi Jjim at least once, but not sure if I would come back, unless I was craving Sulung Tang Beef for a lighter meal when it’s cold or if someone was sick … The Infamous Galbi Jim, it was pretty good… but not sure if it is $80 good. To top it off if you want the burnt Mozzarella cheese, it will cost you an extra six dollars. The beef was delicious, and inside there was rice cake, potato, carrots, and smaller slices of beef. Again not sure if I would pay that much, maybe $50, but $80 … The Sulung Beef was just like I would imagine it. Nice and clear, with some dipping sauce. We had to make sure we ask for the salt and green onion. This Sulung dish, plus the Galbi Jjim added together over $100 already, plus if you decide to dine in, well 15% tip, you can do the math… I do have to note that their BanChan was pretty good. They had three different ones, a green onion, radish, and traditional kimchi. I’m glad I finally was able to try this place, but my wallet wasn’t. Like I said before, if you haven’t tried this, I would recommend eat least you try it once. Either way for me, if I come back, it would most likely be a rainy or sick day. Thanks for reading till the end, until next time !
Galbi Jjim is the dish that we ordered and Teuk sulung tang. Hands down, galbi jjim is the highlights and the main dish. You have to add the cheese as the add-on. The 🥕 were so soft that my picky daughters eat them without complaints. The rice cake is soft and chewy at the same time. WE cant discount the short rib. They were well cooked, sweet savory.👨🍳 💋
I have had better Korean food in the past, but what really separates this place from other was the level of service our waitress, YH, provided. The soup had a medium amount of meat, soup was rich, and the galbijim with cheese is always a go to.
Love the variety of soups they have. I chose number three, even though they recommended number seven. It was really good and they didn’t not salt the soup and let you do it yourself, so I can add the salt according to my personal preference. I wish they have more side dishes though, they only offered kimchi, radish, and bean paste… was hoping they have more options. Would come back and try their other soups for sure!
11/5/21 2nd visit. Order for togo. To go quality is also good as much as dining in. Servers are still nice even they are busy. I like this restaurant. —————— First, Price is heavy but the quality of the taste is covered everything. 2nd, It’s open until late night. You can grab some good quality food with dining in. 3, Service is really awesome. The only reason why i gave 4 stars is the price is high. But no regrets. It’s really good place.
Outpost of popular restaurant known for short rib plate. Came here with my parents on a Sunday around 6:30pm and there was no wait for a table. Free parking is available in the parking lot but it’s busy. Credit cards are accepted. Indoor dining available (no outdoor seating options). When you pay, they bring the payment machine to you. Service was fast and they have call buttons on the wall (though we didn’t use it). We got the Koh galbi jjim and added cheese and rice cakes (an additional $6 each). It’s $5 more for this plate for the oxtail, of which they gave us about 4 pieces. The medium was more than enough for us three plus leftovers. You have a choice or white or brown (purple) rice. You get three appetizers as well. It’s a good spot for come here for big groups, but they do have individual portion entrees as well. I think adding the cheese is a must-do; the rice cakes are optional, but we particularly enjoy tteobokki so we indulged.
Better than i expected. Lots of soups on the menu, im not much for soups. So i ordered from The specials menu, the large rib stone plate. It was about 140 for 4 of us. It the none spicy my friends ordered the spicy one which was in a soup but ours didnt have water. So i was happy. The meat was sweet and savory.
This restaurant has become a go-to spot for me, thanks to its flavorful food and convenient hours. However, the service has been a letdown. Over 12 visits this year, I've faced indifferent staff and frequent mistakes. My latest visit, with friends, reinforced these concerns. hope the management takes steps to enhance the service, as l'd love to continue enjoying their cuisine
There’s always a wait here! They do check your vaccination cards before seating you so make sure you have those! the server was super nice. I was a bit hesitant with the spiciness level on the dish because I went to another Korean spot and their spicy was way too spicy.. equivalent to the fire noodle spice so I was afraid to pick their spicy.. but ended up with spicy not medium spicy! It was perfect. Because the server saw me hesitate over the spice level, he was super nice and said to let the guys in my group pick spicy instead of mild. If it was too spicy, he will give me a drink on him. Thank you btw! We got number 24! I was a bit disappointed because there were only 6 rice cakes in there…but their meat and flavor were all there! Can feed 3-4 people in my opinion! Definitely want to come back to try their soups! Also, your dish comes with rice! Purple or white. I appreciate restaurants who give the amount of bowls equivalent to the people at the table.
We had such a great time here! The Koh Galbi Jjim was absolutely amazing — super tender, flavorful, and just melted in your mouth. The sauce was rich and tasty, with just the right mix of sweet and savory. It really hit the spot and is definitely one of the best Korean dishes we’ve had in a while. Big shout-out to Yoonhee, our server, who was so kind and welcoming. She made us feel right at home and gave great recommendations. Her friendly service really made the whole experience even better. If you’re craving delicious Korean food and great service, this is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back!

One of the best Galbi Jjim in California. Price on the higher-end side but worth the money. Make sure to come with at least 3 person to order the galbi jjim. Huge serving and made to order. Dedicated parking space in front of the restaurant. Staff were helpful but not friendly in any way. Lack of banchan selection, kimchi wasn't strong enough for our party. On our last visit the galbi jjim was not spicy nor flavorful enough despite ordering our usual spiciness level. Clean restroom, lots of seating, good food.
Make sure to order #10 if you ever consider #1. #1 has very little content. 10 is stuff. Same soup, for a few bucks more, better deal and experience. Kimchi was good. Have to say had better elsewhere. Went just after the breakfast special, yeah, they have a breakfast special, and beat the crowd. Under staff for what they serve, their specialty takes a long time to arrive. So as soon as you sit down before the wait person leaves you(he will not come back for a while) order right the way. Cheese is extra $6 btw.
This is the third outlet of Sun Nong Dan in LA area. Perhaps this day was an exception but the soup was more watery (clearer) than the soup at the other locations. Secondly the rice vermicelli was missing from the soup. The boiled beef slices were dry to the taste. Probably they were left outside in the air before placing in the bowl. I don't mind missing the noodles but dry beef is just awful. The kimchee, radish and chives were spot on. Keeping all 3 outlets to be consistent is not easy.
Terrible service, and the #1 (Beef Soup) was tasteless. The noodles were gummy, and the entire thing was like trying to eat a bowl of dirty dish water. The most delicious thing I had here was the water. I wouldn’t come back.
Overrated restaurant. The space was cramped and didn’t feel clean—there was a visible layer of grease and outdated deco. The server seemed impatient in explaining the different short rib soup and just pointed the most popular one. I ordered the Galbi-tang and was thoroughly disappointed. I had many many galbi tang before and this one was below average and unacceptable. The chewy short ribs were mostly scraps—no meat, just tendon and fat. Very disappointing experience. The side dishes were good and so 2 stars.
I ordered the number 12 Beef Brisket it only came with the few pieces of beef briskets. The dish was filled with tone of dried cabbage . Checked to see if it is the normal amount it should came with or if I just happen to get a bad batch. Upon checking the waiter give me a big bowl of beef although not brisket. Said nothing to me and just left it on the table. Just FYI if you want to order this dish. I would not recommend. We also ordered 1 and 3, although those came with lots of beef, they don’t have any flavour unless you add salt yourself.
Portion is actually terrible for take out. I ordered the galbitang and it only came with 1 small beef short rib. Not even a big one, barely any meat in it. I've ordered it to go and in store before…

There were three of us dining today, and as usual, we ordered the Koh Galbi Jjim with level 4 spiciness. Every time we’ve had it before, the level 4 spiciness was just right for us. However, today’s dish was unusually spicy—much hotter than the level 4 we’ve had in the past—and we simply couldn’t eat it. We explained this to our server and asked him to confirm whether today’s dish was really made at level 4. To our surprise, he didn’t answer our question or check with the kitchen to see if the wrong spice level was used. Instead, he just kept repeating that he had already told us level 4 would be very spicy. When I made it clear that we couldn’t eat the dish, he said he could pack it to go… which made us feel like he was rushing us out. The key issue here is that the level 4 we had today was different from what we’ve always experienced before. Later, we asked to speak with the manager, and a young lady came over to apologize—she was very nice. But after that, the same server took our dish away and brought it back, asking us to try the soup again. When we told him the beef was still too spicy, he lost his patience and slammed the spoon down. Overall, it was a very unpleasant dining experience.
Very disappointing dining experience. The server name D.G. was extremely rude and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in. We asked to sit by the side, but he refused and insisted we sit where he wanted. When taking our order, he was impatient and had a terrible attitude. Even simple requests like water or rice were deliberately delayed. It felt like we were being ignored the whole time. Management should really look into this kind of behavior — it completely ruins the dining experience.
After several days of consideration, I felt compelled to come here and share my experience. Last month, I visited this restaurant with four friends (a party of five) around 9:00 PM for dinner. We ordered over $400 for dine-in and an additional $300+ in takeout (to-go) items. When it came time to pay, I intended to use the "custom" option on the iPad to select the tip amount. To my astonishment, the staff member immediately took the iPad away and told me I was not allowed to adjust the tip. He stated that because we were a "big party" (five people), we were required to pay a mandatory gratuity of at least 20%. I was genuinely shocked. I have never heard of a group of five being considered a "big party" for an automatic gratuity. Furthermore, about half of our total bill was for to-go items. Why would a mandatory 20% charge apply to a takeout order? I asked the server where this 20% mandatory gratuity policy for a five-person party was clearly posted or stated. The staff member could not provide an answer or point to any sign/menu disclosure. He merely repeated "big party, two tables…" I ultimately paid 18% (the lowest available option on the iPad) under duress. The whole interaction made me feel extremely uncomfortable and coerced. After leaving, the feeling of being forced to pay an unearned service charge was very disturbing. Following the incident, I immediately sent an email to the corporate office via their website to report this incident. Regrettably, I have received no response after an entire month. I am more than willing to pay for the food and service I received, but I refuse to be pressured into paying a mandatory fee that I do not agree with, especially when the policy is not clearly disclosed or justified (especially for a take-out portion). We will absolutely not be returning to this establishment. I sincerely hope the owner or management addresses this situation, as this kind of forced charge and poor customer handling is unequivocally wrong.
i don’t dine here too often but have been customer to this location for close to 10 years. before yesterday’s visit it has been about 6 month since last visit. i only eat galbi jjim here and have never had any complaints prior to yesterday. may be i had a bad batch but i was really disappointed with the ribs/meat that they used. it wasn’t the quality of the meat nor the quantity of the meat. every pieces of the ribs in my pot had no meat at all as if someone purposely knocked off all the big chunk of the meat that is usually attached to the bone. not sure if this is result of way to keep the price down instead of raising the price with same quality. i’ll give another try near future but i hope i’m not disappointed again next time.
We ordered the Tta Roh Guk Bap and there was nothing but mostly cabbage. If I wanted the cabbage soup, I would of order that instead and knowing meat is additional $4 is outrageous regardless of the meal being almost veggies. I would like to have more meat in the meal. I feel like its not too much to ask but clearly it is. And they should add lemons as an option too.
Very poor service. Heard a lot about good things and visited. It wasn’t packed yet when we entered the restaurant. Servers did not respond. They didn’t seem to care. Food quality was not as expected. When I paid cash, the server returned and left the change right on top of the green onion container right in front of me. I don’t think he knew what was wrong. If there’s no bill tray, you give money to the customer’s hand, and do not put money on the food (even though there was a plastic wrap). That gesture explained a lot about this business. That was how the atmosphere and the service we got. Ignorant until we have to go to the counter to call a server to order food. Oh, if your seat is close to the restroom, you could hear flushing while you are eating because they kept the restroom doors open. The food this restaurant is not cheap. The service was way worse than McDonalds. Not coming back for sure.
I felt racially profiled by sitting next to a lovely Asian couple and knowing my ethnicities is Hispanic I didn’t get peppery respect and customer service . I honestly felt I wasn’t welcome in the first place . I really wish this place could do better knowing it’s my first time here as a Hispanic minority and a dream to enjoy other cultural cuisine . I would never be returning back .
Warning! I won’t be coming back!!! I’ve been coming here almost every week. I’ve ordered #25 with spice level 4 at least a dozen times before, and it has always been fine. But today’s dish was abnormally spicy—so much that it was completely inedible. I called over the staff to give feedback. One of the female servers had a very good attitude, but the male server’s attitude was extremely poor. He kept insisting that he had already warned us it was spicy. Brother, the issue I’m raising is not about being warned—it’s that every time before, it was perfectly fine, but today it was abnormally spicy, clearly something wrong in the kitchen. Why don’t you go and check whether the kitchen made a mistake instead of pushing the blame on customers? The manager’s attitude and solution were truly disappointing. Also, let me be clear—I’m not concerned about the money. I would even pay double to order a new dish if needed. But not even offering a single apology is unacceptable.
No complain to the food! Omg the service there doesn’t worth single penny tip!! I ordered one extra soup to go while I had food with my family at the restaurant. After I paid everything I waited to get food but they didn’t give me so I waited and waited finally when I asked them the lady told me “why you didn’t tell me earlier!” I was wondering we should let them know if the food is ready?? Shouldn’t they give us food when it is ready??? And while we were eating there no one came to ask us how we are doing too! My point is why we need to pay tip if we are not getting the “proper service”!!! I paid %18 tip which was almost $20! Morning shift Korean lady!!! You need to learn some service skill!!!!
On 01/24/2026, I ordered galbi tang soup to go from Sun Nong Dan in Rowland Heights. While I was halfway through eating the soup, I found a piece of tissue or paper inside it. Please make sure to check your soup before eating. I never thought I would find tissue paper inside the soup. It could have been the tissue paper that wrapped the meat. You can tell the tissue paper had been soaked for a while. When I picked it up from the bowl, it wasn’t wrinkled at all. The workers were probably talking to each other and didn’t pay attention.
