Opinions de Hidden Dumpling House Sacramento
The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. They didn't skimp on ingredients. Our fried rice had plenty of shrimp and chicken and was a meal within itself. The dumplings were so good (but I love XLB with malted vinegar, and theirs did not come with that, but that is a minor comment). The eggplant was so scrumptious, some of the absolute best. One thing about their food is it wasn't greasy at all. Service was great, ambience is very nice. The only "problem" is the place is super small, so seating will be cut in half if it's not nice enough to sit outside. We came at an off-peak time and it was crowded, so I would imagine long waits if you show up at peak times. Definitely coming back though!
I’ve been to the midtown location multiple times and food never disappoints! Green beans and won ton soup are a must! Portions are big so we always share and even then have left overs. Ate our hearts out and took stuff home, all for $75. Location is vibes. I love that it’s small and cozy. I love that you can see into the kitchen. You can tell people put love into their food. Even the kitchen is super super clean! The service is definitely a flop but it would be unfair to give this restaurant less than five stars so I still gave them five stars because the food and the people cooking the food truly deserve it. When you come there, Expect to wait about 15 minutes before a single person comes up to you to ask you for your drink order. They forgot to bring out one of our items and we asked multiple waiters in regards to it and each one of them kept forgetting it when they would come back. My husband had to get up and come up to the cash register and ask for it. But service aside, we will be coming back for the good food!
Super delish plus quick and easy lunch after our house tour! It's Wednesday, so we try to get out to a local restaurant and today we tried this place. I think we now have food for the next four days! Thank you!!
Hidden Dumpling House Midtown came highly recommended and I see why! Delicious, large portions and great service. The Singapore Rice Noodles were excellent! I also loved my passion fruit smoothie. The dumplings are huge, just know that if you order them. Such a great place!!
Ordered there beef noodle soup and the broth was very rich in flavor and the beef was very tender. There portions are very large for the price and service was excellent. The chowmain noodles are also very thick and meaty witch was nice.
This place is fantastic—the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The portions are generous for the price, and the flavors were spot on.
Cute little dumpling restaurant. Staff was so attentive and friendly and helpful. All dishes were served very hot and in a timely manner, even though they were very busy. Food was so delicious! We will be back soon and more often!
Completely random stop here due to my car thinking there was a charging station nearby. That said, I'm so glad I did! They may have the very best hot and sour soup I've ever had (SOOOOOOOO good) - and because they weren't too busy, they pan fried the dumplings and made me a side of broccoli. The portions here are IMMENSE and while that's normally off-putting to me, here it's delivered with love and generosity. Highly highly highly recommend!!! Also, given that it's been a hard week, I continued to allow myself to have noodles, and the garlic noodles did not disappoint. I'll make it a point to come back sometime - definitely a good and easy stop en route to Tahoe from the Bay Area, too. If I had any recommendations, the chicken cilantro dumplings were oddly sweet and I would get another type of dumpling next time.
5/5 Food: I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of my food because it looked so delicious. We just dug in. We ordered the Mongolian beef, Kung pow chicken, deep fried spicy wonton, chow mein, fried rice, thai tea and mango drink. Every single dish was amazing & flavorful. I particularly liked the chow mein and the Mongolian beef. We recently tried another chinese spot so we had plenty to compare to. Lets just say hidden dumpling just gained some new customers! Service: I haven’t had such great sit down service in a while. Our server Charles was super attentive, and personable. Even though it was pretty busy on a Thursday, he did not miss a single request and was just as attentive to all his other tables. Thank you! It made the experience that much better. Atmosphere: Hidden dumpling house is a pretty cozy and intimate spot. It really feels like everyone is eating altogether, and it creates a warm atmosphere. However, it does warrant a bit of a wait time if it gets crowded. otherwise, I think it’s worth the wait.
I've been to Taiwan twice and eaten a lot of dishes there.. this food tasted authentic and I will be back soon..after I finish the leftovers. My one suggestion is maybe some low dinner music as the kitchen is not far from the dining area .
I've been wanting to come check this place out for a while and I'm glad I did. You won't regret going either! We ordered the pork, shrimp and chives dumplings, garlic noodles and honey Walnut Shrimp. Everything came out pretty quick. Service was good and the food was excellent. I can't wait to return and try more of the menu. Just know, the restaurant is not very large. So you might be waiting for a table, but the tables turned pretty quick.
Me and my family go to the Elk Grove Hidden Dumpling House for the gluten free options. We went to this branch and it did not disappoint with the gluten free sweet and sour chicken and gluten free fried rice. I love this place and it is great that they have gluten free options for my sibling who is allergic. I will say that I wish that the gluten free dumpling was the same as the Elk Grove store, here the chicken cilantro dumpling is pan fried but the other store it is steamed. The dumplings also came way after the other food, we had already had finished the food when the dumplings came
First time coming to this place. One thing to say is delicious!! The people that work here are fantastic they are on top of things, they make sure if you are doing ok. the place is a bit small but they do have outdoor sitting though not for the winter of course. Do I recommend it? Yes I do.
First-time experience, and it was delicious!! Arrived Friday evening dinner time it was pretty busy but we managed to get a table for 2. The portions are family size, but they do offer plates if family plates aren't what you are looking for. They had a variety of pork, chicken, and beef. They had a good variety of chowmein, noodles, and fried rice. The great option about this place is that they can make any dish gluten-free! I have tried other places, and by far, this was the best and most delicious gluten-free food we had. The food came extremely fast. After we ordered the food was delivered within 10 minute's. Super fast and made to order. Fresh from the kitchen to your plate! We are definitely going to return!

Very high quality, fresh, tasty food, and unusual presentation. Fun bobba drinks. The portions are large but so tasty that you can eat it all. The place is small but very cozy. The workers are very polite and responsive. There are a lot of people for dinner, you have to wait, but it' worth it. I recommend it 👌.

I am in absolute love with this place! It has the most flavorful dishes and the dumplings are pretty great! I've been bringing my family and friends and we share a lot of dishes together! I definitely would recommend trying their General's Chicken and the Singapore noodles! The atmosphere is decent and quaint. And the servers are always top notch and quite helpful! As far as pricing goes, it's decent and comparable to other restaurants, but I rather go here. Overall, I really recommend this place!
The food is seriously good. I've come three times now and I've never had a subpar experience. The garlic noodles keep me coming back, they don't skimp on portion sizes, the beef broccoli has plenty of broccoli, and all the chicken is ooey gooey goodness. The dumplings are moist and mildly soupey. I especially like the beef and onion dumplings. I'd not recommend the boba drinks, of all the items offered they are the lowest value for product size and quality. By this I mean, you pay about boba shop prices for their boba and smoothie style drinks, and there's no portioning difference overall. They're still a very fair price, but in comparison to food portions the drinks do not have quite as much value. The drinks are very yummy regardless and add to the experience.

Ordered honey walnut shrimp, general tsao chicken, fried wontons & calamari. Everything was delicious except the calamari, it’s quite disgusting and disappointing. The menu was very appealing, I’ll definitely order again in the future but staying as far as possible from the calamari.

Fun place to go after work with my daughter on a rainy night. Tiny/cozy. Ordered family style by mistake. Lots of leftovers for the 3 others at home. Tea delicious and mugs perfect size. Green beans great. Baos were gigantic.
This place is usually a 10/10, but not today. I got takeout, and although the lady was tying my bag as I showed up, the chicken inside was cold as if it wasn’t cooked enough. Thankfully the chicken is processed so it’s cooked through before it is frozen. The noodles tasted like leftovers from yesterday. Ordered lunch at 12:45. Wont be back here for a while. Disappointed.
We came here for some dumplings 🥟 but, after few tries of ordering what is on the menu seems to be they’re already out 😳 SO down to one to choose from and I went for it. And we waited… and waited… finished our large plate order ✔️ and waited then finally it came! The disappointment 😖 that dumplings should be kept hidden where it was.
We had the soup dumplings, the soup leaked out and it was ok. The pan fried dumplings were shaped like a empanada…pretty tasty. The Singapore rice noodles were decent. The walnut shrimps were meaty. I wish they gave you larger plates to eat from. We arrive when open so seating was not a problem but it does get busy towards noon and there’s no waiting area so best to maybe get it to go.

Unfortunately, the taste and quality of this location lags behind the Elk Grove location. The honey walnut shrimp sauce tastes different, too much mayo, and I found shells on some of the tails. The chow fun also lacked the wok hei char that the Elk Grove location excels in. Tried the cheese wontons for the first time, and i would never order them again. Soggy and flavorless. The price is higher than other similar restaurants, which is worth it when the flavors and quality are on par with the price tag, but it hurts even more when it isn't consistent. I hope they can improve and deliver similar quality across both locations. Until then, go to Elk Grove instead, it's worth the drive.
