20 years ago I had my daughter 21 birthday party here. Was amazing. So we came back to celebrate her 41 birthday and it still amazing. Alfonso is a great server and customer service skills excellent! He made everything perfect! Thank you Alfonso!
Very high quality food and good amount. The outside second floor seating gave great views. It was not the cheapest but worth it.
So the reviews were not so great so I was a little concerned but my friend picked the place. I thought the food was phenomenal. The only thing on my plate I was not fond of was the rice was a little dry but the steak, sauce, flour tortillas were all great. I enjoyed every bite. We had a dinner party of 10 and I didn't see 1 plate not eaten. I would come back next time visiting west coat.
Visited March 27th..see receipt. Great location in Sacramento! While staying on the Delta King we decided to have an early lunch. Please note that the restaurant is upstairs only and is accessed by stairs OR the elevator. Other reviews may say it has 2 floors but that would be false! I split the lunch special whuch was shredded beef with rice and beans. The shredded beef was good and the sauce was spicey and delicious! The chips and salsa are not complimentary but still worth it because the chips were warm and the salsa was good. DARIANA was our waitress and she was very sweet and on top of our order! She even gave us alittle more sauce to go. They have a full bar and my friend had a margarita and he said it was good. Indoor or outside covered seating . We chose the covered seating because it overlooks the shops and people walking around. I like the bright colors and decorations. The employees were all friendly and welcoming! Definitely be back next time I am in the area!
What Great find. we entered on wednesday AM the monite they opened. The server was amazing (tall dark hair and a LITTLE chubby ;) ya know) . He is real funny with a beautiful sense of humor. We had chips and salsa, shrimp enchiladas, and shrimp tacos. The food is perfect and very cheesy. Lots and lots of cheese. The sauce was atomic hot. The pico was tasty. The chips were perfec. Just go. U will not regret it.
This Mexican Restaurant was a surprising delight to our visit in OLD SACRAMENTO recently. The taco salad with chicken was beautiful and delicious. The burrito with shredded beef was perfect and more than expected. Excellent service with a very nice atmosphere. Definitely a place we will return to soon.
This was a random pick for me and my family on a random sunday evening out. We were seated immediately, even tho it was packed. Our table was outside on the patio. The service was fast, ordering was easy, and to our surprise, the mariachi started and played some favorite songs. The food came out in a timely manner and was delicious and reasonably priced. We have a 4 yr old and 10 year old and they both were also happy and entertained. Will definitely be back again. Thank you for such a wonderful perfect family outting.
Date night at the Golden 1 to see Jo Koy!! Decided to have dinner at LaTerraza. We were able to get right in and get an awesome table on the patio. We ordered our drinks and food fairly quickly. We got the chips and salsa pretty fast, and then our food came, but we still didn't even get any water or the drinks that we ordered. Our waiter was really busy, and it was difficult to get his attention. We were halfway through our meals before we got water. Yes, we had to ask someone else. When we did get his attention, he explained that the bar was really backed up. But he could have told us that much earlier. Anyway, when we did get our drinks, we were a little disappointed. Mine (Pom Margarita) was strong as heck, and my husband (Mojito) said his was not very good. I had ordered the chicken and avocado salad and was a bit disappointed. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, and the chicken was tasty enough, but the parmesan cheese was the sprinkle kind, not fresh, grated kind. Husband got the Verde Enchiladas, and although he ate it all because he was hungry but stayed that there wasn't much flavor. If there had been any salt on our table, he would have used some. All in all, we were not impressed but love the patio anyway. I'm not worrying this place off, but maybe next time, just drinks and appetizers.
La Tereza in Old Sacramento was just okay for me. The food wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t anything special. The flavors were pretty mild, and everything felt more on the simple side rather than memorable. It’s definitely edible and fine if you’re hungry and already nearby, but it didn’t stand out compared to other Mexican spots I’ve tried. The upside is that it wasn’t too busy, so we were able to get seated quickly and the service was fast. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. Overall, it’s a decent option if you want something quick and convenient in Old Sac, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Just okay! 🌮🙂
Went for lunch with my wife and 17yr old son. We were in the area visiting UC Davis from LA. Decided to check out Old Sacaramento for lunch before heading home. We stumbled on this Mexican restaurant when it caught our attention because it had a nice deck with a view for lunch. Being from LA we frequently dine at Mexican restaurants. I had the 3 taquitos plate, my wife had a chile relleno plate, both with beans and rice. My son had a wet carne asada burrito. 1 michelada, an ice tea, and 1 horchata. Total bill was $98 (plus tip). Let me start by saying that the plates were very pricey for the portions that were served. Everything seemed kinda pricey ($18 for a bean & cheese burrito!). Our food was ok. Nothing special. Same for the $15 michelada. My wife and son seemed to have liked their plates for than I did. I was also very surprised, as I had could not remember the last time I went to a Mexican sit down restaurant and chips & salsa were not complimentary. Again, for the prices we paid. Cant complain about the service. Not the best l, but no complaints. Our server just took our order...and thats it. When he brought our bill though at the end and it was tip time, he was super nice and talkative all of a sudden. Idk if it was just me or maybe it was nothing. Also, the only time we bothered him was for napkins, and he came back with exactly 3 (small ones). Exactly 1 for each one of us lol. Anyways, overall the whole experience wasnt that bad, but we probably wont be returning. Definitely didnt get value or any satisfaction for what we paid.
Located in the heart of old Sacramento, 2nd floor with an exciting view patio seating, it took a while to get seated. Fair menu to choose from. Affordable prices and large portions of food. The flavor is less than expected. Recommend only if you're visiting downtown and would like to rest your feet from long walks and have a bike to eat along with taking pictures of vintage buildings.
Their Too Good To Go offering was two skimpy tacos with rice and refried beans. Seemed more like a kid's lunch portion when it should have been... more. The food received was not worth the time, effort, and gas to drive down there. Definitely the value was not 3x the price paid ($5.99, so should be worth at least $18). Seemed like it wasn't to reduce food waste at all, but for the purpose of drumming up new business. The food quality was average. After the pickup, I received a 20% discount through the app for dine-in only. I'm not sure whether I will be trying it, considering what was provided. Your mileage may vary.
Restaurant ratings on Google says it all. 1st restaurant serving mexican cuisine that disappointed us. Food was under-seasoned, mild, flat, insipid and lacking in flavor. Rice were uncooked. Only salsa had some taste. Food looks good in pictures though. Large portions. Expensive.
If you're looking for decent food with a side of extra rudeness this is the place for you. Upon entering we might as well have been invisible because as soon as arrived the waiter completely ignored us. We thought "oh maybe this is just a case of the Monday's" but based on how he treated Us the rest of the meal I think that's just who he is as a person. Multiple people in my group are native Spanish speakers, which newsflash, say hola sometimes. They offered this greeting as a friendly gesture and the waiter who was also Hispanic acted like they were speaking a language from outer space. Luckily we were all able to find a way to get our orders through even though the waiter went out of his way to pretend not to understand some of us. We ordered enchiladas, ceviche, and flautas. Even though the food was decent the entire experience still left a bad taste in our mouths. Again the food was okay but if you're uncomfortable are you enjoying yourself or just eating your feelings? This was meant to be a momentous occasion celebrating someone's birthday but the bigger accomplishment last night was seeing who could run out the door the fastest
We just had “dinner” there and the experience was not good at all. The waitress was kind of unhappy and unfriendly. The food was very bad The chips tasted like old very old oil the burritos had more beans than everything else I felt bad because I was the one who insisted in having dinner there The pozole without onion and oregano … nobody enjoyed anything and for that reason I diid pay ..
