Ro Sham Beaux

How can I express exactly how obsessed I am with this place? It’s the perfect neighborhood joint, excellent for a relaxing glass of wine post-work, or meeting friends for a bottle and some sherry shots, or even a low-key first date with low-ABV cocktails. The wine is often unique, and always delicious. The employees are knowledgeable and unpretentious; bites pair perfectly with the natural wines; ambience is warm, modern, and inviting. Just joined the wine club and can’t wait for my first bottle! So excited to dive further into the world of natural wines! Do not miss this casual-cozy gem!

I was midway through a lengthy walkabout and feeling dehydrated. I popped in and asked if I could purchase a large cup of ice water. The man and woman behind the bar were incredibly thoughtful and extremely generous. They would not accept my money and were pleased to get me hydrated. I've been promoting their kindness ever since.

The atmosphere is a great balance between being refined and welcoming at the same time. The servers are on top of their game so you won’t feel underserved. The wine was reasonably good, I mostly tried the whites and they were good. The only slightly negative thing I would mention is their speaker volume level. I’d suggest them getting a surround sound system as opposed to one source that shakes their ceiling whenever the bass hits. I’d suggest a sign of some sort at the entrance since we had some trouble finding the “Ro Sham Beaux” text that is inside the building.

Very nice atmosphere. They had some interesting wines such as orange wine. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The cheese dishes were very delicious and I do not hesitate to recommend!

One of my favorite spots in Sactown. The service is excellent, the food is great, and their wine selection is awesome.

Hidden little spot close to the Jungle Bird. The parts and labor is the best Red Wine I've had in a long time. The staff are super nice and like their job and their prompt. Will always come back.

This is my favorite wine list in Sacramento. The wines are balanced, joyous and thoughtful. There is always something for anyone in our group and the staff is extremely helpful with questions and recommendations. The vibe is dark and fun and the music is always perfect. This place was so chill. Loved the vibe and I cannot remember a time I had better customer service. Loved every one of the wine cocktails we tried. We didn't have any food because we had just eaten, but will definitely go back to see what other cocktails they will be rotating.

Wish we had a place this approachable in San Francisco! Great selection of wine from around the globe, affordable - love that they have half pours available so I don’t get blasted. Enjoy the small bites.

I’ve been here a handful of times over the course of 2023 and have always had an exceptional time. The food is amazing, especially the brie grilled cheese and the wine is even better. You can’t beat the service here either. They make it incredibly easy to pick a wine/drink that you’ll enjoy. I spilled my wine all over myself and the floor the most recent time I visited, and one of the workers was so polite and quick to help out which was appreciated since I was pretty embarrassed.

I cannot say enough good things about Ro Sham Beaux. We arrived at the bar after driving all day from Portland, OR in the pouring rain and the bartender Jasper could not have been nicer. He made sure to have a table and raclette waiting for us even though the kitchen had closed because we had called earlier in the day and he knew we had been looking forward to it. Everyone was beyond friendly and went out of their way to make dinner special. It was one of the best service experiences I have ever had, and the food and wine was amazing to boot. Will definitely return and have already recommended this place to friends and family!

This wine bar is so cute and perfect for date night or a small group of friends (2-4 people). The bar is intimate and moody on the inside, beautiful wall full of wine selections, and cute seating by the back wall, the window, or at the bar. The staff are very friendly and can help you figure out what wine to try. They have some outdoor seating as well which is nice and great if you come with more than just one other person. My friend and I tried some white wine and we were happy with the recommendation give to us. I’ll definitely be back to try their cocktails and the food they have on their menu.

Simple food made extraordinary via detailed culinary arts and talent. I wish I got more photos. Never had a better grilled brie, I think they first pan fried the ham. The almonds inside offered elegance. We ordered a handful of items, the tuna sandwich not shown, was different than any other tuna I’d had before and I don’t know how they cut it (and so beautifully stacked) without the ingredients spilling out. We polished off everything with our friends, who were there to celebrate a birthday. Kitchen staff deserves a lot of praise. I was not expecting a wine bar’s food to outshine their beverages, as beautifully curated as they are. Nicely done! My only question is, can you find some tiny tables to add to seating on the bench so there can be food served there too? I hear it gets very packed in, like the cans of sardines you serve, and I understand, but maybe something you can remove easily when space is more important than serving nibbles? I knew better than to bring a group, but would love to take a few more friends next time. Great service, friendly and helpful. Clean and uniquely styled bar. Thank you 🙏

I was looking for wine by the glass and bites. SERVED. The bocadillo jamon was delicious, the sherry shots were fabulous, and the atmosphere was the right blend of excited and chill. I wasn't expecting a great spot with Spanish fortified wine flair, but it was fun and tasty.

I love natural and orange wines and the bartenders always have something new to suggest. They offer half pours, so I will usually go this route and try a few things. If you are taking a short break away from alcoholic beverages, they have an amazing non-alcoholic (sorry I still cannot say "mocktail" with a straight face) drink list. I recently had their "Ume Therman," and it was the perfect, crisp refreshing drink to combat the summer sun outside.

The inventory here leans toward the smaller wineries that go unnoticed across the globe. So your pallet should be open when you walk through the doors. The music and ambience is great as well!

Super cute. I attempted to go a few times, but they are so popular I couldn’t get a seat. Finally on a random Sunday afternoon we got a table and had a great time. The staff is amazing and so are the drinks.

I've been here multiple times and this is the best wine bar in Sacramento. The only downside is they don't take reservations and the space is more suited for parties of two or three. I've been there as a party of six, but we were lucky since there was an open table.

The only reason I can't rate this higher is because they were so busy that I couldn't even get inside the place. We had wine in the waiting room and I tried a cocktail that reminded me of an orange Creamsicle. This place was almost like a club but with a Mello vibe. I gotta try to sit inside next time.

Quaint and cute, Ro Sham Beaux is a midtown wine bar that also serves beer. A DJ played great music while we sat outside under a heat lamp on a cool evening. The service was good, the prices were reasonable, and the energy was positive. I would go again.

So I found this place online, saw the pics and thought this would be a great place to try with a friend. I love wine and it looked like a good menu. However, once we go there and begin ordering, there was not much wine selection to choose from at all for a wine bar, and the "full" glass of wine I did order was about 4oz. Then the mussels I ordered came in a tin can, like sardines you could get at a grocery or discount store for a couple of dollars, but we were charged at least 4 times that amount. The bread we ordered was soaked in oil, so there was no need for the butter that came with it. My friend enjoyed his soft cheese and bread appetizer and the sauce or jam that came with it, but when he asked for more to finish the snack with, he was given maybe a measured teaspoon. We left needing to find a meal elsewhere.

Told to sit anywhere we like, after being greeted by two staff. Sat down and prepared our order from the menu. Multiple other tables around were checked on and served over the course of 15 mins, but we were not. Cute atmosphere though. Can't speak on the wines unfortunately.

This is a great little place. We had the cheese wiz and two glasses of wine. This part is fantastic. However, the employees kept standing on the bar where the food was made and the drinks poured. Outside of the safety and Osha violation risk of a fall. It's gross. No amount of spray is going to clean that appropriately. I think EMD needs to visit and give some lessons on food safety. They just need a ladder or a better back stock option. I won't go back because I don't want to get very ill from this place. The bottom of your shoes in Midtown is disgusting. It does not belong on the counter.
