I go to this place for the corn dogs and the chili dogs. The owner/manager of the place is very nice and recognizes me on my early morning stop in before work. They have the corn dog on the stick and mini corn dogs.

Such nice people serving the best hotdogs anywhere. We like to upgrade to the all beef hotdogs and get upgraded buns too, but the regular chili dogs are pretty great too.

I've been to many Wienerschnitzel's this was the first time someone asked me if I wanted a Polish dog or the other meat options I've only been offered a hot dog this was a good stop!

Classic chili dogs. Manager is extremely hospitable and he even brought the food. He was friendly and patient when we took forever figuring out what wanted . Inside is small and typical older fast food place, not comfortable. Same awesome wienerscnitzel recipes and classic old fashioned great customer service though!

We had driven back from Monterey Airport heading home from picking up a rental vehicle, wife wanted to stop in. There was a great supervisor on staff the crew has excellent in preparing our food hot fries got corn dogs hot chili dogs very delicious the bread bun was fresh. On 10/14/2022 arrived into Salinas from Sand City running an errand for our pet cat at PetSmart we decided to stop in & grab a meal for dinner everything was delicious chili fries chili dogs corn dogs french fries everything was fresh & ready to eat. I've loved hot dogs since my younger days and eat them when I see them on a menu so Wienerschnitzel can fill out the meal for me. I live afew miles from the Salinas location but always try and stop if time allows as the food and employee's are very good 👍.

This is my favorite fast food ever, been so since I was a kid. This location is great they brought our food to us which has never happened before not a problem but it was super nice. I totally recommend this location if your a fan like myself :)

Super friendly. I drove accross town just to get my hot dog fix. Pleasantly suprised, plus the nice cashier gave my dog some cold water. In terms of fast food I can't ask for much better than that.

Great place to go and get some wienerschnitzel never really packed drive-thru has maybe two or three cars in it at most at all times staff is really fast and polite food is always hot never had any problems.

I got two large cokes, two large fries, a chili cheese dog, large Dr Pepper, and a super deluxe with cheese and tomato and it was really good.

A cozy place, was my first time ever in this franchise. The food was really good! The person taking my order took her time to explain to me almost everything on the menu with a smile on her face, they also had a 70s rock playlist playing through my time there and made it even cooler!

Wienerschnitzel is our comfort food place. Chili cheese fries, chili cheese hamburger, chili cheese dog, jalapeño poppers and of course plenty of ranch. When it comes to fast food this is always our go to.

ive been going to this wienerschnizel since i was a kid. nothing about this place has changed in 30 years... except the fantasy elf art that used to be inside. But the food, the building, everything has been exactly the same for 30+ years and thats pretty cool.

For me...a Wienerschnitzel Chili Cheese Dog hits on all cylinders for perfect tasty comforting junk food. And the Weinerschnitzel I like best is in Salinas on Main Street (Hwy 68) at Blanco Road in the Nob Hill shopping center. I've always received good service...the food is always consistent, hot and delicious. About the only complaint I have is thier fries are a bit hit or miss with the salt. Most of the time they hit it...but often, like so many places...they shy away from it which makes for bland fries. As if those few milligrams of salt will make the fries healthier sideshow. People...fries are NOT HEALTH FOOD...they're junk food...so salt them up and enjoy! Anyway...this location is a bit shabby and has that dive feel to it...and being adjacent to rural agriculture areas, not surprising. However, don't equate appearance with cleanliness or sanitation...I've never had anything where I was questioning if the food wasn't clean or the service conditions weren't hygienic. If you want a good chili cheese dog and fries...or even a chili burger...all for relatively cheap...can't go wrong here! My hats off to the owner/operator for maintaining good, friendly and conscientious staff!! Good leadership leads to good staff!!

Great service. Employees were pleasant, attentitive & very helpful & willing to help not a problem. The two girls that helped were pleasant, both had smiles on THIER faces & made sure to find out how I was to know the difference in the dog w cheese & dog w extra cheese! She asked cooked to make sure how he identified the difference, w out a problem & I can not express how pleasant these two girls were. Employees now adays seem to be miserable & not very happy nor are they pleasant. These two girls are fantastic employees. It has been years since I have had the pleasure of experiencing fabulous customer service and fantastic employees displaying genuine smiles across THIER faces.

One of The Last, if not THE LAST 'Schnitzels' on the Central Coast California, it does definitely hit the spot. Be it Chili Dogs, Hit Dogs, Sausages and even Hamburgers you really can't miss...unless you order the Chicken Sandwich (definitely pass on that). Their Hidden Gem though has got to be their French fries. Always hot and the right amount of Sauce.

Used the drive thru, we ordered breakfast, one platter and on breakfast sandwich, and tater tots. For such a limited breakfast menu, the food was good. Gravy and biscuits were great, soft biscuit, gravy was hot and tasty. Forba hot dig stand the breakfast was good. Better than expected.

Polite employees and typical Wienerschnitzel dogs. Nothing to boast about but nothing to complain about if you enjoy a Der Wienerschnitzel dog from time to time.

It's ok but the prices are not. Six hotdogs and they aren't fancy, three drinks and an order of jalapeño poppers was $37!

I had the guacamole bacon chicken schnitzel. The bacon was a dry crisp and the chicken was a bit dry. Okay fare , if you're not too picky for fast food.

Never expect anything amazing from fast food. The Aussie dog is my new fave. Service is always good.

I've been a customer at this Der Wienerschnitzel for many many years the food is good and the service was excellent. It appears that they're currently under remodel. The floors have been taken out and it today there was flies in the kitchen. This is not the norm this was something I believe to do with a remodel

The only problem at this particular location is the management. I've seen them talk down to some of the other employees, there's a time and place especially in a work environment. And the young lady who was helping us out ( long blonde hair) was so sweet and doing her best even when she seemed to have gone to work sick. Poor thing. We love the all beef dogs, the pretzel options are yum. This is my kids fave place for dessert when passing through Salinas.

The staff is usually really nice, every once in a while someone is grumpy. The food is fine but they do run out or machines are down fairly often. Typically the staff makes up for the inconvenience

Honestly, it would've gotten a better general rating if the food was worth the price. At the prices you pay it's no wonder why the place is always dead. But, the rating is high because I ordered a meal and was never given the offer for a medium or large, therefore when I wanted a medium size it was too late, so they gave me the upgrade for free. But at this location the place was dingy and musty, the bathroom had no soap, and there was pee and poop on and around the toilet... Pretty bad.

Food over priced you used to be able to get great deals here but not really a good deal anymore plus the food is not very good anymore and the size of meals are smaller so I'm just over it

This place just isn't what it used to be. I used to try to go there at least three times a month, and now they're lucky if I go three times a year. Cheese fries are still good, but they used to be great (the fries aren'tas good as they used to be, and they no longer put salt on the chili cheese fries... I mean, at least put a little bit on them before adding the chili). Their burgers are a disappointment (the bread just isn't what it used to be, and the patty tastes quite salty now, almost as salty and dry as McDs), and their specialty drinks are like sipping on the syrup they use for shaved ice. The only thing that still taste great are their hot dogs and corn dogs, but I wouldn't be surprised if they change those as well. At least their chili is still edible... what makes it even worse are the constantly climbing prices. But as long as the chili cheese dogs, chili fries, and corn dogs are edible, I'll still have it from time to time. And hey, the staff is still pretty friendly.

How hard is it to put mustard on the MUSTARD dog? We ordered 6 and they were ALL plain. Tried to call them from the road to tell them they messed up, no answer. Also want to mention they now skimp on the fries (which were overcooked and hard) and the corndogs looked like they spent way too much time in the fryer. Pretty dissatisfied considering we spent almost $50.. Will not be returning and don't recommend.

I used to go to this place a lot when I was a kid it was great but tonight after 13 years of not being in this area I went back with a friend and had dinner over there and honestly the quality of food sucks plus I paid $5 for chili fries and got a squirt of chili on top of my French fries it was not as good as it was when I was a kid I won't be going back..

As Ive gotten older the saltiness from the chilli has pushed me away from the products. Though I still have always had a fondness for the corn dogs! They taste so fresh.

I wished they didn't chop up the bacon in their country breakfast, I use to order often years ago. Then I ordered it and the Bacon was all chopped up in pieces. The gravy and biscuits and eggs were still good. Came back 9 months later, and the gravy is all watery. The bits are less 😆. Ya the country breakfast sucks now.

This place has good fast food but is super expensive. I just paid $24 for a large combo with an additional corndog. That is the most I have ever paid for a fast food meal for 1 person. I am never ever going to eat at weinerschnitzel ever again. Never!

Here's another Wienerschnitzel that can't even do their own menu properly. The polish sandwich with kraut was a one bite then throw away.

Due to covid19 aren't food service workers suppose to wear gloves?the way our food was given seemed unsafe compared to other fast food restaurants we were missing part of our order and the guy asked for the bag back when he should of just put other food in separate bag as if we were lying that our order was incomplete, then he asked if we wanted a receipt and we said yes but was never given one

Sign says 7AM open but door locked and no employees by 7:10 on Tuesday, Oct 8. Very bad management. Last week ketchup holder was dirty. Told management but nothing cleaned.

Got to the Der Wienershnitzel on South Main Street in Salinas at 11:30ish PM. Closing time is 12 midnight. Waited almost 15 minutes at drive thru window. The guy at this Wienershnitzel refused to serve me because he was closed. I reminded him that drive thru closing time is midnight. He said he was closed. Closed about a half hour too early? Wonder if the Wienershnitzel corporation is okay with employees closing shop early.

The worst service ever. I already yelped them. The hot dogs were great as usual but the Chile cheese fries barely filled the box & so little chili & cheese it looked nothing close to what's pictured. Shame on the management here for shoddy service, dirty restaurant, & poorly made food.

Today it was horrible. There was almost no chili on my chili dog. My chili cheese fries were cold. The cheese wasn't even warm it looked like it was straight from the refrigerator. And to top off the restroom was filthy. there ZERO paper products in the restroom. No tp no seat covers, no paper towels.

Restaurant looks like 💩. They really need to renovate and upgrade it. Worst service ever. Employees kept looking and ignoring us. We had to tell them if they we're ready to take our order. Can't understand what the employee was saying. Food wasn't that great at all. Won't come back.

This place used to be really good. Which is probably why I've had a couple of bad experiences there one after another after another and I keep going back because I'm hoping that they will have got a new management or dump some sort of Renovations or upgrades or perhaps maybe they were just having a bad night the first five times I went there and it was bad but all of a sudden magically there going to be different the next time but every time I do that I am severely let down. the price? Its not worth it. Employees should change the oil in deep fryers more often and or perhaps just need to get new appliances that don't make the food taste like the burnt stuff you scrape off the bottom of the inside of a microwave.. And all their food has this flavor, not just the deep fried stuff. Another thing, the restroom is ghetto and horrendous. I can only bring myself to go in to the restroom after I eat. Otherwise if I go to rest room first I feel too unsanitary to eat and lose my appetite. Though after a stomach full of that microwave tasting crud, throwing up doesnt sound so bad after all. I'd rather pop a squat along side a bush or the road.

Completely disappointed with order. There was 2 items missing and 2 of an item that I only ordered one of. Places to order to go and I took 25 minutes for our order to get ready while we watched people who came after get their food quickly. By the time we got our order the food was cold and unappetizing. The man that was supposedly the manager was loudly talking and not paying attention. Will never go back now even though we really like the food.

Worst service. We were ignored while the staff took drive thru & the 1 person stood around or filled orders for the drive they as the line inside grew longer. Then after we ordered we were waiting for our number to be called & our food was just sitting on the counter & we had to ask if it was ours. The chili cheese fries, where's the chili!!! Hardly any, nothing like the pictures. Very bummed.
