Havana Club is a popular spot for authentic Cuban cuisine, praised for its flavorful dishes like lechon asado and yuca con mojo. Customers consistently highlight the excellent service and family-friendly atmosphere. Some find the mojitos too sweet and service can be slow when busy.

Best cuban food in the area! Home made dishes cooked with love with really generous portions and great ingredients. Definitely recommended
Nice menu. Good selection. Friendly service. Tables service was quick. I enjoyed my meal. I will be returning. Good casual place for a good meal.
Had a great experience at Havana Club. Had Oxtail w/moros and christianos, and a side of Yucca with Mojo. All were very homemade style, just like your Abuela would make. Strong recommend here.
The food is very authentic, I grew up eating Cuban food, the food here is as good as home made. The Cuban fried rice, the Palomilla stake, Masitas de puerco are all excellent Service is also very friendly
I lived in El Monte for 20 years and never knew this place existed and my girlfriend told me about it and we went finally and it is definitely a five-star restaurant I had the pork with black bean rice oh my Lord it was delicious
Food was very tasty I really recommend this place
Always the best food, the best servers, the best atmosphere we go there quite often. Nothing negative to say about this place whatsoever...Peggee and Joe Marcano
The food incredible like always and the services stupendous! Best Cuban food in the San Gabriel valley if not L.A. If you want Authentic Cuban food this is the place. Take it from a Cuban! 😜
First time customer and After today's meal, I have Become what will be a long time Loyal custormer! I usually travel from Covina to the city of Orange for good quality Yummy Cuban food. I am so glad to discover Havana Club right here near my home. I am willing to travel to Great eateries! The food here is FANTABULOUS! The Cashier Miss Teresa iz ZEE BESTZZ! Fred B. U.S.NAVY VIETNAM VETERAN 1972-1978
Good food good service great prices love their chicken soup and bread with bean dip Muy buena comida
Found this place online. We got there and they were swamped, which is a good sign. The food was excellent and so was the service. I usually don't like plantains but I really liked theirs. I would definitely go back.
Another one of my haunts been coming here over 15 years my favorite is the pollo Asado plate the meat falls off the bone and they have an avocado salad that's also a perfectly compliments this dish.
They give a sandwich named "midnight sandwich" and it tasted amazing, if you go here you should buy it as your first try. The side is a choice between fried banana and another I don't even remember because I always get fried banana
Yuca frita was great, mojo was ok, mojito and cafecito was good. Atmosphere and service makes me give it 5 stars. Since the loss of la caridad in silverlake, this will be my go to Cuban spot.
Excellent tasting dishes. I had their steak combo(medium) with onions & rice, with black beans & plantains. Enjoy it a lot.
Best Cuban food in LA County by far!! It's not as popular as Westside staple Versailles but make the trip out to El Monte for excellent Cuban plates & strong Mojitos
The food was extraordinary. The attention was superb and the atmosphere was out of the park like a Baby Ruth home run. Fantastic!!!
My Pastor encouraged me to taste the Ox tails, oh my they were the best! The whole experience was amazing
I had the shrimp and rice and my friends had the Cuban sandwich. Service was great and so was the food!!
Authentic food from Cuba. I was very sick and ordered their chicken soap and it was my remedy. Just the way my abuelita use to make. I also love their daily lunch specials. Delicioso!
Great restaurant, price are very affordable, the food is delicious.
I would rate it a 100 stars if possible! Very down to Earth place, the flavor is ALL CUBAN! I grew up with Cuban friends first generation to escape Cuba back in the day. These friends made the most outstanding lechon, moros y cristianos, and the yuca in garlic butter sauce! Havana Restaurant flavor the SAME!!! MUST GO AND TRY! Everything is AWESOME!
The food was really good. We ordered two Cuban sandwiches and a fried rice. The prices have gone up but the food is good.
Awesome Cuban food. they have a bar but no bar menu menu. However, the dri ks looked great and they served my beer with a chilled glass
Great Cuban food and their service is good too. We drive over 50 miles to just go there and eat...that is how good it is. We recommend that you bring the whole family. Don't forget that on Sundays they have a buffet to die for. Love it!
Absolutely my favorite Cuban restaurant, oxtail was my favorite, meat just melt in my mouth, really reasonable price for the portion, next time I will bring my friends, overall just a fantastic place
Fine food, tasty surprising combinations, beautiful presentation in a very small family-run restaurant in an offbeat location. Mexican food does not get better—anywhere (I live in New Mexico and travel to Mexico). Not cheap, but a fair price for the quality. Wine and beer only.
Affordable, tasty, and very satisfying.
I absolutely love cuban food, but its hard to find fresh cuban food nearby. This place always has fresh food with good service and variety of plates. Everytime I pass by El Monte, I know I have to make a stop here. The area and parking situation are not the best, but the food makes it completely worth it.
Went there three weeks ago and had the ox tail, I had already had dinner earlier that day but family was visiting the area so we went. I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The buttered bread tasted great and the meat from the oxtail was so tender and just melted in my mouth. We are going back again tonight, just 13 of us.
We ordered the food for my Cuban husbands 70th Birthday this past weekend. The food was so delicious, and authentic. All of are 75 guest raved about it! Thank you Havana Restaurant!
I've been to this place twice already. They have daily specials, so I'll keep returning until I've had them all. Just like Cuba itself, this restaurant is also an island (of sorts) because it is found in part of LA County that is awash with an overabundance of Mexican restaurants, your typical fast food joints and some asian restaurants. What I had this last time was the milanesa with sautéed onions. It is very good, especially with the onions and a squeeze of lime. The last time I had a grilled steak topped with mojo and that was excellent. Even better than the milanesa. I recommend you go. It's the most interesting restaurant in the area.
I came here with a group of four. Staff was so friendly and pleasant. Food was fresh and came out on time. Everybody ordered something different on the table but it all tasted good. Wouldn't do justice to single out one dish over another. Definitely will come back next time I'm in the area
I've not been here in 3 years but I'm in the neighborhood and I remembered how good the Cuban food is. Delicious hot buttered bread heated on a panini griddle served immediately. I've ordered chicken milanesa served with black beans and white rice. This is one of my favorite restaurants. We've been here many times and always bring our friends and family. The service is always great, the food is always yummy & it has a great relaxed atmosphere.
Food is always great!
Had my boyfriends birthday dinner there and the everything was exceptional...from the food to the service, they were very attentive and made the event enjoyable. It was the first for a lot of our guests to eat Cuban food and we received a lot of good feed back from the food and event overall. Peopel in talks about using it for their future dinners.
Food was great service was great. My wife has no real experience with Cuban cuisine so she asked our server who was very knowledgeable about the menu and the dishes. Looking forward to our next visit
My friend and I have been there twice in a three week period and we loved it! We want to try the buffet next time...I'm sure I'll be heading there on Sunday. Also, the waitress was nice and our food was delicious and hot...love the bread!
This place was amazing authentic cuban food and shout out to the cooks they are super cute🥰
Authentic Cuban food and plenty of it. The boiled yuca con mojo was delicious. The Lechon Asado was so tasty and tender. Worth the trip!
A true gem. The flavor of the lechón is perfectly perfect. Mmmmmmmmm. We love finding great Cuban bread, yuca, and all the good stuff. Delicious!!
Please try out this restaurant for very tasty & great Cuban food! The prices are affordable & those who ate there on a regular basis said it was very authentic tasting! My friends & I plan to eat there regularly so try it out! You won't be disappointed!
Great Family Restaurant with Amazing food. The Ox Tail was delicious and highly recommend it. Another must try is their Flan.
Cuban restaurants are hard to find, especially good ones. Havana Club's food is excellent. Portions are large, and prices are reasonable. On a very hot day, I would have liked more air-conditioning. Still, we will be back soon.
I had not had Cuban food before, friend of mine said we should go and try it that she'd been there and it was very good. I have to agree, the food was very tasty and I definitely will be going back next time I'm in the area, and I suggest you do as well. Their sandwiches are absolutely incredible.
THE BEST CUBAN FOOD I’VE EVER HAD!!My family and I have been coming here for years and the food, staff, service and atmosphere has been nothing but amazing! Staff is very friendly and welcoming once entering the restaurant. The food here is always flavorful, delicious and comforting. You’re first treated with complementary warm toasted and buttery bread. My family and I always order the “bistec empanizado” which is breaded steak. We also order the “pollo rostizado”which is roasted chicken. Both of those dishes come with rice, black beans, and nicely caramelized plantains. You will not regret coming here!!
It's a Tuesday evening and some friends surprised me with yet another birthday dinner. Being that I have seen this place for many years but had yet to try it I was going to keep an open mind about the location and food. As you find it located in the heart of El Monte, with very limited parking and outdated look of the building (inside and out) I was Shooketh how delicious the food was! As we were immediately greeted and welcome to sit anywhere we pleased, we walked in to a pretty empty restaurant and sat to our comfort. We placed our order of drinks and shorty after our food order as well. Complimentary bread is given to start and its unlimited, so don't be afraid to ask for me (you will want more) it's so good. Our dishes arrive and everything looked fresh and delicious (check out my photos) in all honestly I was so impressed with the flavors and portions of all the food, each of our plates came with a side or rice, black beans, and these amazingly cooked plantains. The services was just great, our server was busting his behind off and by the time we left the restaurant it was a packed house. A big thank you for the sweet and savory birthday flan! I can't wait to return and bring friends and family that have yet to try this place. Enjoy!!
My Caregiver & myself were the only ones in the restaurant at that time. The food was fresh & delicious. One waitress was friendly but we waited quite a while to pay,the caregiver had to get up & go in search for her, then she paid,& we left.
My friend took me here whilst we were driving from LA to Riverside. Everything was perfect, food was delicious and our server was the sweetest. As an English guy just here on holiday my first Cuban food experience was fantastic.
Do not be deceived by the outside appearance, this place surpassed my expectations. I’m Cuban so everywhere I go, I look for authentic food. Food was amazing, did not take long to prepare and the atmosphere was very good. The bathroom was clean and the staff were nice.
The food was delicious, but the service could use some work. They are definitely missing out on not having live music. We will definitely eat here again. Delicious mojito! My husband loved the expresso and garbanzo bean soup.
Foods are all good, beef tongue is amazing, Mojito is on the sweet side, green salsa are just right 👍, over all its very good, will definitely come again.
Cuban food at reasonable prices, the place looks nice and clean. I ordered several items from the well apportioned menu and I wasn’t too impressed. Food was well presented and prepared fresh but, I found some of the dishes didn’t taste as well as places in Miami, Florida. It could be that the cook wasn’t Cuban or maybe it wasn’t his good day. Overall good establishment.
Best Cuban Restaurant in all of Los Angeles, worth the drive. Food was delicious, very authentic, generous servings. Ambiance is wonderful, well appointed table settings, music. The staff is top notch attentive, polite. Great prices for the quality and entire experience. I had the traditional chicken with onions, super! I will go back next time I visit LA.
I accidentally walked in last time with my friends just to find something different to eat, I forgot the dish’s name it is like a stewed beef in sauce with rice, serve with fried banana and breads and a dark purple color porridge. They are so good. I already went back few times even I live not near that area.
Closest to home cooked Cuban food and portions are pretty large! It's pricey but I always have leftovers for days. I Always order the appetizer sampler (plantain chips, cuban sandwich, croquettes, and tamale), empanadas, yucca with garlic sauce, bistec empanzado, black beans, pollo steak empanzado, cuban fried rice. They also give bread on side and garlic sauce for dipping. The only mixed review I have is plantains, its a hit or miss....sometimes over cooked and dry and other times it'll be cooked perfectly. But all in all, its consistency is great and continue to go back every few months to get my fix. This was around $130 in total, but again leftovers for days!
This place has been a favorite for my family for a long time now. The full menu is back, and the service is top-notch!
Had air conditioning. Servers were very nice and answered any questions. Had more tables than staff so need to wait or flag someone down, but the servers are very good with taking down orders and bringing back drinks, food, utensils. Complimentary(?) bread basket had warm and soft, lightly toasted buttered bread. The fried pie shell and seasoned ground beef of the empanadas were a hit, totally recommend for people who like fried empanadas. The plantains (maduros?) were a nice sweet treat so didn't need to get dessert. The green salsa was delicious and not burn your mouth spicy. Chicharrons pork rinds were super crunchy to almost hard texture, not for anyone with braces. For the combo plate, get to choose two sides: (1) the white rice that comes a small cup of black beans or moro which is beans and rice already mixed together & (2) yucca or plantains or french fries. Had naturally sticky wooden tables that long lasting businesses tend to have. Would eat here again.
me and the wife have been looking for a good Cuban place out in the Chino area. We found this hidden gem I highly recommend you visiting.z

Found a true Cuban restaurant in the neighborhood! The food is excellent and reminds me of homemade cooking. I actually returned and ordered takeout for a party of 10 and everyone was very impressed with the food.
This is a family business, great food, with excellent service... Well recommended Cuban cuisine. Thank you very much.
Being cuban, I love cuban food. Nothing beats my mom's cooking, also Abeula this restaurant is good. I been coming here for twenty years
Nice place for have a bistec w/ rice and black beans. Delicious and highly recommend
We came here for a birthday party and it was a total hit. As soon as we were seated, the staff was super friendly and welcoming the whole time – they really helped make the celebration feel special. The atmosphere is perfect: vibrant, colorful, and lively with great music and decor that instantly puts you in a festive mood. The food was genuinely delicious. The beef empanadas were a standout – crispy, flaky, and packed with flavor. Everyone in our group raved about the Cuban coffee; several guests who know (and love) Cuban coffee said it was outstanding and some of the best they’ve ever had. The whole party enjoyed their meals and left happy and full. One small thing to know: they don’t split checks for large groups at the same table. We got lucky – our party was seated along one long bench that was technically three separate tables, so we were able to divide the bill into three without any trouble. If you’re coming with a big group, just plan ahead for payment. Other than that tiny note, everything was fantastic. Great service, tasty food, awesome vibes, and the birthday celebrant (and all of us) had an amazing time. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend Havana Club for your next group outing or celebration.
I love this place. Not only because the food is fire but because the service is always spot on regardless of who is your server. My favorite is the bistec empanizado with moros (I substitute the black beans and rice) and the food is pretty quick to arrive once ordered. I wish the bathroom was a little cleaner because I’m super picky about that but overall the quality and price is great

Delicious!!
Great Cuban staples: rice and black beans, maduros, tostones and different kinds of meats. My favorites: lechón asado, lengua, and rabo encendido!
Good food. Large portions. Good service, but only after our entire group showed up.
Delicious food and pretty good service, just a little slow. Be careful if you order #38 or #30a. They sound kind of the same out loud and you want to make sure you get the right one :).
“Friendly and good foods” It was recommended by my Cuban friend. It was very reasonable and good portion of foods. Waitress Ali explains about foods we ordered and history of restaurant. She is very friendly and good service!! Foods was very good.
They have a weird seating arrangement and they want to take your order right away. The only dish I know I like is ropa bieja, so that is what I ended up ordering.
Food is good. Language dish is done well. Service is slow during rush hour... not that it's that big of a place.
Fantastic selection of authentic Cubano food. Ropa Vieja plate is great, as well as the Bistec de Casa. Staff is professional and courteous.
Good service. I've had real Cuban food in Florida on a few occasions so the bar is set a higher for me. Still, I'm glad a Cuban restaurant exists like this in the area.
Found this place and I will definitely be coming back. *Not the best mojito as it says on the menu but you can try it and be the judge of that. I don't recommend it. At least the one I had, not good. I've had better. The lunch specials are worth it. I had the Arroz con pollo and wow was it a large portion!
I've not been here in 3 years but I'm in the neighborhood and I remembered how good the Cuban food is. Delicious hot buttered bread heated on a panini griddle served immediately. I've ordered chicken milanesa served with black beans and white rice and fried plantains. Food was delish. There are daily specials. You can't go wrong. The place is a bit dated but clean. Parking lot is small but there is street parking. Glad I'm here.
Great Cuban food. Authentic and delicious house steaks. Their paella is amazing but be advised it takes a half hour to get prepared as it is served fresh. For drinks don't forget to order their signature mojitos. The waiters can sometimes be MIA but they may have been understaffed last time I visited. Regardless. Great food.
Love this place when they get it right. They have one of the best black beans I've tasted. They are a little overpriced for the very small amount that they give. I felt like it was mostly juice from the beans. Their platanos are also really good when they are fresh. I've had to return the platanos a handful of times on different occasions because they were luke warm and hard, like they have been sitting out for a good while. It's gets a little annoying, especially if I get them to go only to find out halfway home that they are not freshly fried. As you can see in the photos, the difference on how they look when they are fresh, compared to when they are old and hard, like they have been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while. Their bread tastes yummy. I can eat their whole basket if bread in one go. When I used to eat meat, this place was my favorite for the bistec empanizado. It comes with black beans and platanos. They bistec had fried onions on top. And their salsa is one of the best I'v had. Top 3. Although I do have a so-so annoying experience with them sometimes, this is one of the best tasting Cuban restaurants I've been to. That's why I keep coming back, hoping that my order will be good.

Restaurant menu drawn from El Colmao in LA, but not quite the same quality. Dark atmosphere. The wait staff are nice and attentive.
I really wanted this to be a go to for Cuban cuisine and honestly, I wasn’t expecting too much - Self fulfilling prophecy perhaps? The empanada was tasty but oozing oil. The maduros were the right level of ripeness but the taste was off and slid around in what appeared to be a small dark puddle of burnt oil. Perhaps I shouldn’t have ordered a Spanish dish, paella, at a Cuban restaurant because it was mushy, over salted and comprised of mock crab meat, bone in chicken, and some shrimp floating in a red sauce. On the plus side the service was decent and the mojito hit the spot. I’ll venture elsewhere next time.
Not the greatest location but nice clean place. The food was a bit greasy for me but the taste was there. The best thing was the fryed banana omg was that good. But again due to the greasyness of the food I could not give it more stars
Good food but service sucks. Made a party reservation for 18 people. And they only had one server doing everything. Had to go to the kitchen myself to make them bring the drinks so we could do the toast. Dinner service was late as well. The Stars awarded are only for the taste of the food. Nothing more
When you walk into a restaurant everyone likes to be greeted. No eye contact...No welcome... I'll be right with you.... nothing! Hopefully she can change her way of being because the food wasn't bad. Service was BAD! I hate to give them this grade but establishments need to change. People leave their hard working money to be treated horrible. 5stars to the cooks.
The food here is really great, but I’ve had several frustrating experiences with their closing times. I arrived at 7:27pm a few days ago, even though they’re supposed to close at 8pm, and I was told they were already closed. I really hope they can improve their closing time management, as it’s disappointing to show up just to find out they’re not open when they should be.
Looking for good Cuban food in El Monte? This is it! My coworkers and I love coming here for their lunch specials. Usually it's a hit or miss but you really do get the best bang for your buck for the amount of food you get. There's usually 3 items for the lunch special everyday that is priced around $9 and it comes with garlic bread, plantains and black beans. I especially love the chicken and potato dish on Wednesdays. The restaurant itself is family owned and it actually looks pretty nice inside with comfortable seating. From the outside the restaurant looks like a hole in the wall place but don't be deceived! Although it can get packed during the lunch rush, I found the service to be pretty quick. The wait staff are usually very attentive to the customers. You can even find the El Monte police officers and other city workers dropping by during lunch time.
Was closed when I arrived after driving 58 minutes out of my way on return to LAX... on a Monday... sign on the door. Google Maps showed it open as its usually open on Mondays. Was Presidents day so I'll give them a pass and maybe try them another time.
I went to this place the other day with high hopes for arroz con pollo in short LE FALTO SAZON! Clearly I was disappointed for such an important Cuban dish to come short. I will never order this plate again. They ruined my eating experience.
The empanadas, plantanos, lengua, and ox tails are pretty good. But the Cuban sandwiches are not good. We were all excited to try the sandwiches and were pretty dissapointed. The sandwiches are dry and use deli meat. There's a better Cuban sandwich down the street at a brewery.
The place is nice , a lot of Cuban decor, sandwich (pan con lechon) was dry, not enough picled onions.
If you are not Cuban, don't expect an exceptional treatment. They immediately know wether you are Mexican or not and they'll take their time to seat you or serve you. Not a service with a smile, unless you are Cuban!
Ordered the daily special. Beef fried steak, Bleeh. Arrived luke warm. The oil they cooked in was turning rancid, and congealing. Fried plantains were soggt and left a chemical after taste. Watress was pushing me to order something else. When i told here i didnt want anything but to go she said you dont have to play for nothing and stomped off. Sorry, only because i was intrigued by a Cuban restaurant in the middle of the san gabriel valley AKA Chinatown.
Service sucks, over priced. I had better, i rated one star because the waiter passed quiet a few times but didnt stop by and checked on us for refills or drinks. I had to flag her down after an hour of being their. Would not recomend
I started coming to this restaurant 8 years ago and I stop by this restaurant whenever I’m in El Monte. Food and service were ok but when I came last weekend, the service was very bad. They are not that busy, not even half full but the waitress was uncaring, inattentive and looked like I’m bothering her. I ordered ropa vieja from the lunch special menu and the food came within 15 min. it took me 20 minutes to pay, get a to-go box and leave. I had a first at this restaurant I was charged for the to-go container. Never ever I was charged anywhere else for a to-go box except this place. Shame on you Havana Club Restaurant.
The food was alright... Ive been to small Cuban cafes and they have been way better than this. The waitress was really nice, but she was the only one working on this business night. Than who I believe to be the owner stepped in to help but oh no ! She messed up our check twice, and to compensate took off our drinks cuz I guess the waitress wrote it down wrong ? whatever the case I definitely wont be back here. It took us another 10 minutes just to get our check picked up, than another 5 just for our change. On top of all this she cheated me 5 dollars from my change ! Horrible
Never again!! Recently I had a very bad experience at this restaurant. After going there for years, and introducing this place to my friends, I went there for lunch on Saturday with three friends who were yearning to eat good Cuban food. Sadly the four dishes we ordered were very unpleasant to say the least. Even their fried plantains (a little favorite staple of mine) were awful. I was surprised, because a couple of months back, the food was very good. We told the owner who arrived when we were there and she used all sort of excuses in favor of his cook, but to us... not even an apology. Something else to point out, there were just three people in another table besides us. The whole place was deserted for lunch hour on a Saturday. Not a good sign! And not a place to recommend at all anymore!
I just called to place an order for pick up, I was placing an order of rabo encendido, ropa vieja, bistec de la casa, yuca con chicharrón, fruta bomba, etc etc. the person who answered name Yamilet with the worse customer service! She not only hung up on me because a took a minute to let her know how I wanted my steak. When I asked her why she hanged up on me, she said she was very busy with too many phone call orders! She said she was too busy with a bi party as well in the restaurant. I asked for her manager or supervisor and said is La señora Ramires but she gets there very late in the afternoon around 6:00. I am so astonished with the kind of people business owners are willing to hire and put up with to take care of their customers in such a horrendous way! Not caring on how they are sabotaging their business! She is probably not even a nice person to have and give the opportunity of a job! Ungrateful to the point that instead of sounding happy that the people who hired her and give her a job and an income, she sounds annoyed and bothered because the business is having business people calling to buy from there! I would really look into her loyalty and character!! Awful customer service!!
