This is located in the Dominion area so it has to be good. I am glad that it exceeded my expectations. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. She gave us great recommendations and details of the dishes. We loved the cherry tomatoes appetizer, that sauce is delightful. We also had the bacon wrapped dated but the date over powered the cheeses inside. My friend ordered the whole branzino and I had the rack of lamb. Both entrees were presented nicely and were at least two meals. The fish was cooked well with a nice smokey flavor. My lamb was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I am still thinking about it and I would happily order it again. I can't wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow.
We had an amazing dining experience at Acu Bistro Bar, we're extremely happy that we chose this place for Saturday dinner ~6pm-ish! Plenty of parking spots were available just infront of the restaurant. The glass walls of the restaurant was decorated with plastic leaves outside leaving the entrance empty. There were both inside and outside sitting arrangements including bar area. They had funny decorations for Halloween! The restaurant had an enjoyable atmosphere, spacious sitting arrangements and good lighting. The place was >80% full when we reached. Attendants were nice and cordial. They served a digital menu card. Adequate number of menus detailing what's inside. We started with Mule-lijoto which just prepared our food pallette. The drink was very refreshing, perfect balance of citrus and sugar with a pinch of bitterness. The crushed berries at the bottom of the copper mug made it more refreshing. We ordered dolma and stuffed dates as appetizers. 6 dolmas were served with a white citrus flavored sauce and a hint of spices. The leaves were tender, stuffing tasted great as well. The dates were stuffed with mango based ingredients and wrapped in bacon. 4 pieces were pretty heavy as appetizers! We think the bacon overpowered the sweetness, may be a little less bacon would have been great. Our main course had lamb shank and short ribs. Lamb shank had a good portion size but trust me, short ribs were not short at all !! Atleast 4 servings were there! Both, the lamb and the ribs were well cooked, tender meat pieces didn't fall of the bones till we touched it with the fork & knife! Lamb shank was served on a cast iron pan with yellow rice and pomegranates. Short ribs were served with roasted potatoes and carrots with dip and sauce. We had to box the huge quantity, of course! We ended the meal with bread pudding and if you don't order it, it would be a huge miss. The solid soft hot bread pudding with burnt crust was served with a scoop of white chocolate ice cream drizzled with toffee and it was delicious with absolute bliss. They are very generous with the portion size and kindly boxed all the leftovers. The main attraction is the fire oven which was serving fresh breads, pizzas. We will try their pizza at some point of time. We strongly recommend this place especially for weekends date nights.
I recently dined at this exceptional Mediterranean restaurant, where the aroma of wood-fired delights immediately captivated my senses. The lamb chops were succulent, the grilled octopus perfectly tender, and the pork belly boasted a delightful crispiness. The feta dip was a heavenly accompaniment, and the pizzas and paellas from the wood-burning brick oven were a culinary masterpiece. The impeccable service added to the overall delightful experience, making it a must-visit for those seeking a taste of Mediterranean perfection. I highly recommend!
An amazing place to sit, enjoy great food, and listen to quality music! Having grown up with Mediterranean cuisine, I can confidently say the food here is simply outstanding.
Love this place! We try something new every time that we visit. It is fun to watch the pizza being made with a variety of fresh ingredients in the wood fire pizza oven. The bacon wrapped dates and margaritas are amazing. It would be easy to otherwise miss this gem that is tucked away in a strip mall. Make sure to make a reservation as the tables can fill up fast.
Awesome place to be if you're craving both Spanish and Mediterranean food. We got paella, octopus, lamb rack, and the chicken. Everything was super delicious except the paella was a little salty and just lacks the paella flavor on the rice. The octopus was super tender and the chicken was tasty and juicy. I definitely recommend the bacon wrapped dates, mussels, and the octopus. Good hidden spot not too far from SA!
I have been here twice; the restaurant’s soft lighting and few tables gave it a romantic ambiance. The Pulpo salad was perfect, Dolce Piccante pizza was bursting with flavor! We added pepperoni & Italian sausage 👌🏻 Celebrated my birthday here with 2 friends the second time; we started with Gambas Al Ajillo, and the Paella Mar was delicious!! Desserts just melt your heart but the sangrias are by the far the best I have ever had. Try it out, you won’t regret!
We ordered the dates and ribs as appetizer which were really tasty. The lamb is probably the best I’ve had and short rib literally fell off the bone. The waiter could’ve been more attentive but it didn’t ruin my experience.
Happy Eating All! If you want to get out today and try some fantastic family traditional cooking, try Acu'. We were not a disappointed this evening grazing our way through their fantastic menu. Bacon wrapped stuffed dates - these should be outlawed or atleast not shared with others as you will want to horde them all to yourself. The watermelon salad and roasted peaches and burrito were fantastic. The fire roasted octopus was out of this world. Watching them cook it in the big pizza oven and then coming out sizzling was magnificent. You have to try the hand made pitas toasted in the wood oven. Then finished it off with a wonderful white chocolate bread pudding with a fig sauce. Even better was the family service. Thanks Karlo and family for a great experience, we will return for more.
What a great place hidden in a corner of a new strip mall. The small plates were delicious and just right. We orders two servings of the Brussels sprout chips because they were so good! Good happy hour and the bartender was excellent. We will definitely be going back.
Oh my gawd this place is amazing! We stopped by this evening after seeing great reviews and were not disappointed. Absolutely everything we had was off the charts delicious!! Our bartender/food server Adriana was fantastic and we will definitely be back!! A must go to in the city!
Finally got a chance to try this place. I was not disappointed! Menu is not to extensive, but that is just fine. The bar menu is amazing with a good beer selection and cool craft cocktails. THe pizza was awesome and might I suggest the Fresh Bourbon drink!
Absolutely delicious food. I have never had anything like the octopus before. It was so tender and flavorful. The seafood paella was very well made with delicious salty squid ink rice and perfectly cooked shrimp and scallops. the baklava was a little hard, but the pistachio ice cream was delicious.10/10 would recommend
They were so accommodating and kind! Really made my friend and I feel welcome. Food was delish!
What a cool new little place that's locally owned, cares about their quality, and provides an outstanding experience for their customers! My husband and I went here for the first time yesterday and from the greeting to the time we paid our check we were impressed. The waitress could clearly explain and answer questions about the drink menu and food menu and offered great suggestions based off what she learned about us and our tastes through conversation. We had the onion au gratin appetizer as well as the lamb sandwich and salmon sandwich with the watermelon salad and baba ganoush as sides. All was delicious! Overall we love the attention to detail to the patrons and to the food and will definitely be back for more. Excited to try their dinner menu.

Acu Bistro is truly a special place and one of our top pics for special occasions. Everything that comes out of that would fire oven is phenomenal. They have had the same amazing wait staff for years and they always provide excellent service.
Our new favorite neighborhood restaurant! The lamb rib appetizer is amazing! Highly recommend.

This is a gem of a restaurant off the I-10 corridor in North San Antonio for upscale Mediterranean style food. Atmosphere, food and service are all top-notch. I only gave it four stars instead of five because It’s a bit pricey for the small plates, but most restaurants are expensive these days. It is worth the money though! It’s a small-ish space so not sure what the wait times are like during peak hours? Great bar and interesting wines as well!

I initially thought nothing here for a Paleo or carnivore guy as I looked at the menu. I did however find Gluten Free pizza so I was in luck. Ordered the pork pizza gluten-free and the Greek turmeric soup. Place inside smells amazing like a wood fireplace. Metal utensils, ceramic plates and paper napkins. Lots of stone and wood inside makes for a nice ambience. It was very loud the day I was there but it was mostly a large group but the acoustics seem to amplify sound inside. They brought me the wrong soup but it was good anyway. When they realize they offers the correct soup to go. That was nice. Not sure if I read the menu wrong but the pizza I thought said $12, my bill showed $17😞
