Upscale craft bar with an amazing drink menu and jazzy ambiance. All bar ingredients are handmade and locally sourced. Friendly and attentive, their staff are some of the best in the S.A. industry. Food is on point, and I heard they have a special late night menu??
If you're looking for a really well-made drink, come here! Live music on some nights. Lots of locals visit this bar. Very nice
Love this place! Such an awesome atmosphere. Personable bartenders who remember you when you come back and can predict what kind of drinks you want next. I feel at home here. The owners were also there, so if they like their own bar enough to hang out there, I think that means something!
My favorite place ever! It’s a quiet spot with fun people around, staff friendly and great music always!
Wow! Came here for the Mardi Gras event & had a blast, live band with trombone, clarinet, and trumpet player which was AMAZING! Great service from Chris, and to top it all off, the cocktails were absolutely refreshing. Will def be back & with more friends.
Very cool joint. Great food and wine. Very chill joint kicking out 5 star food.

Dane and Rob took amazing care of us. Their drinks were superb and they treated us like family. Truly an awesome experience. Austin playing and singing live music was a treat as well.
Just found this place. Nice place to chill . Well tequila shot is $9am so be prepared. Live bands Thursday thru Sunday.
Really well made craft drinks but Food recently changed. Sliders and fries are replaced with tacos and quesadillas.
Wow, such a beautiful little bar. Me and my girls had a blast the last time we were here. There was this handsome bartender named Dane (he looks just like Superman 😍) and he made our experience so special. Highly recommend coming to this bar!
Did not eat, however, enjoyed happy hour. Pleasant atmosphere and always awesome customer service.
Awesome drinks, cool atmosphere, Rob our server was great. Chill vibe for a drink..
Ok this was such a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know what to expect in reference to a neighbor bar in Leon Springs, but Bar301 FAR exceeded my expectation. And Cesar, our bartender, was excellent! I ordered the cucumber martini and…wow!!!!! Great job, Cesar!!! We will definitely be back.

Great Bar, a must visit in San Antonio. Super close to the Hotel I was staying at in the RIM area. Service is great, knowledgeable staff, underrated bar. Great music.
Really enjoyed my time here. Staff was fun and friendly. Food was delicious and jazz band was a beautiful, pleasant surprise. Will be back soon.

Drinks were kinda pricey...$55 for 4 drinks. Ambience was good, music/karaoke was kinda loud. Cute spot to pop in.

It’s more of a bar than a true piano bar. It’s a small place with not much for a food menu, really it’s finger food. The joint is average at best the bartenders aren’t talkative as you would like but they’re not rude either. Maybe if the staff was more in touch with the customers it would be a cool place to hang out at.

Basically the bartenders will, as others have stated in reviews, completely ignore some people. Not sure, nor do I care to guess what the motivation behind those actions are. If you aren't a regular or aren't with regulars you will be ignored on purpose. Then after awhile I guess they finally decide to take your drink order. This isn't always because the bartenders are busy, so adding more bartenders won't nessisarally fix the problem. It is simply how the bartenders run the bar. If you don’t believe me have someone that isn't known go into the bar area and observe. I personally like the bar, but it shouldn't be a popularity contest.

TERRIBLE SERVICE on March 14th at Bar 301! The place was NOT crowded, yet while tables around us—both to our left and in front—were attended to, we were completely ignored. We even had to walk to the bar just to get our own drinks. Frustrated, we took our business next door instead. What’s most disappointing is that I checked the Google reviews beforehand and hoped things had improved over the past month. Unfortunately, nothing has changed—still the same poor service.

It pains me to make this review, but i hope it reaches the owner or at least GM to solve a big issue that occurred last night 2/8. We had a group of about 10 outside on the patio around 9:30pm. I requested service from a young blond server (don't know her name) and right away it was obvious she was in a horrible mood and seemed like she didn't want to help us. After the 3rd or so time of me reaching out to her for service for our table, i asked her if we did something to offend her to figure out why she was so disrespectful towards us to which she just replied "this is just who i am" so i said ok can you please send another server for us, all of my friends were disappointed with the service. About 30 minutes later the "manager " came up to my table and confronted me saying the waitress complained to him that i was FLIRTING WITH HER??? All of my communication towards her was always in front of the group i was with so that was confirmed very quickly to be false. When i explained to the manager what actually happened his only response was "I'm here to address the complaint towards you" this is completely the wrong way to handle a situation and needs to be resolved.
As local residents who were eager to finally visit, our experience was disappointing, revealing a number of issues that detract from the establishment's potential. Deficiencies in Service and First Impressions The initial experience upon arrival immediately set a negative tone. There was no staff presence at the door, and no clear, written signage indicating the proper protocol for seating—whether to wait, check in, or simply seat oneself. This lack of guidance forces guests into an awkward uncertainty, which is unacceptable for any hospitality business. After finding our own way to the covered patio, we observed servers casually chatting amongst themselves while intermittently looking in our direction. A more professional approach would involve staff being observant and quickly moving to acknowledge and seat new arrivals. When a server finally approached our table, the interaction was severely lacking in basic professional etiquette: * No greeting was offered. * No menus (drink or food) were provided. * The only opening line was an abrupt inquiry: "Are you ready to order?" These omissions suggest a fundamental lack of staff training in business etiquette and basic customer service procedures. A proper initial interaction should involve a warm welcome, an introduction of the server, and the immediate presentation of menus. Operational and Marketing Misalignment A major deficiency is the misalignment between the bar's online presence and its current operational reality. The website prominently states, "DRINK. EAT. VISIT.," creating an expectation that a food menu is available. We were informed by the server that the cook had quit and no food items were available. This is a critical failure in both operations and marketing transparency. The website must be immediately updated to reflect the current operating posture and manage customer expectations. The suggested workaround—ordering food from Fralo's Pizza next door—while a temporary solution, begs the question of why a patron wouldn't just choose to go to Fralo's directly. This situation undermines bar301's identity as a full-service establishment. Limited Offerings and Infrastructure Issues Further disappointment arose regarding the beverage service. Upon ordering frozen margaritas, we were informed that the bar does not prepare frozen margaritas. For an establishment specializing in drinks, a common and popular request like a frozen margarita should either be available or clearly noted as unavailable before ordering, especially given the lack of a drink menu. Beyond service, the physical space itself presents an issue. The location appeared unappealing and partially rundown. While the primary product is the experience, the ambiance is a critical component. Management needs to make a tangible effort to improve the aesthetic appeal and overall maintenance of the space to create a more inviting and lasting impression. Conclusion and Recommendations Our visit was cut short, as the cumulative impact of these deficiencies led us to seek an alternative venue (Silo Oyster Bar) where we anticipated a more professional and competent service standard. To improve customer experience and ensure long-term viability, bar301 management must immediately implement the following: * Mandatory Staff Training: Institute comprehensive training on basic business etiquette, professional greeting protocols, menu presentation, and proper table service. * Operational Transparency: Immediately update the website and any external marketing materials to accurately reflect the current food service status. * Front-of-House Management: Establish a clear and well-communicated seating protocol, including a dedicated host or signage for customer guidance upon entry. * Facility Upgrades: Invest in improving the appeal and maintenance of the space to align the physical environment with the perceived quality of a San Antonio destination. Addressing these critical points will be essential to make a better and lasting impression on both local and visiting customers.
