Tip: Dine in for the best experience, as online orders may not be as good. If trying a new Thai restaurant, order the Pad Thai as a good standard.

Opinions de Thai Lao San Antonio
Been here several times now. Party of 5 on a Thursday night this time. About 1/4 full. No reservation needed. No music on the speakers to have to contest with, so it was nice and quiet for our group to have a casual conversation. Service was quick and attentive. Excellent selection as usual. From time of order to main course food at table was 21 minutes. Appetizer showed up in 7 minutes. The table particularly liked the Vietamese Egg rolls. Portions are nice.
When you walk in it’s not like the decor and ambiance are going to bowl you over. But I’m telling you now, give this Thai place a shot! They have a more authentic and less Americanized menu of Thai. And listen, man…. It’s good. Real good. The service couldn’t be better as well. This should be a regular eating spot for people in the area.
I had a wonderful experience with delicious food at this restaurant. Upon entering, I was greeted with a friendly smile and invited to choose my seat. The waitress promptly brought me a menu and took my drink order. After returning with my drink, she took my food order. Within 15 minutes, my meal—Drunken Noodles with Chicken—was served. It was absolutely amazing! Another waitress stopped by to refill my water and offered me a to-go box. I decided to order a Thai tea to go, and I left with a smile on my face! All of this cost me $20, not including tip. I encourage you to show them some love and treat yourself to a fantastic solo dinner!
The best Tom Yum and Pho in the area. Every meal we tried was great tasting and looking. Just visited again, this time we went conservative 😊. Pho and Tum Yum. Hit the spot, is what you need in a cold day. Service was good too! 👌
The food was delicious. We shared the sampler appetizer and I had the drunken noodles. Service was great as well and never had to ask for a refill on water, they were on top of it. Everyone was super friendly as well. Highly recommended.
If you are looking for Thai Food in Leon Springs, this is the place to stop! Our family has enjoyed an all time favorite Thai restaurant for years back home in Monroe, Wa called Benjarong. So obviously, we had to compare ... We ordered the Panang Curry and Phad Thai, both in chicken, medium spice. We found each dish quite excellent and very fresh. Not exactly what we were used to back home, but delicious none the less. We look forward to coming back!
Fantastic food and service! We ordered the pad phet chicken, drunken noodles with beef, and Tom yum with shrimp. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would come back in a heart beat!
Thai Lao has not only served great food every time, but has shown incredible service, the minute you walk in your greeted and attended! Definitely choosing Thai Lao every single time! If you haven’t, your definitely missing out.
Fresh vegetables, hot and delicious. Fast service, and great and friendly service. They have options for you spicy and non spicy. Love it, definitely going back to try other options! :) P.d: ordered online thru Uber Eats and wasn't as good as eating there. :(

Amazing place!! Delicious food!! ♥️
There are loads of options, including many that are vegetarian and tofu can be substituted for many others. The service was excellent, the kitchen followed all my instructions, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We picked up our order because we wanted to try a new place, and what an AMAZING DELICIOUS EXPERIENCE! The food was incredible! We ordered the Yellow Curry, Massaman, and crispy Thai rolls. It was absolutely the best we've had in the States. I'm so happy we found this place!! You won't be disappointed. We are definitely coming back and would definitely suggest! Yummm, thank you for this delicious experience!
This was my first time coming here with my brother and sister-in-law. They've raved about this place for a while now. The food was awesome, I got the Pad Basil. Very tasty, maybe the best Pad I ever had! Large portions and great service.
My wife and went on a date night to Thai Lao for the first time on a fluke. The restaurant we wanted to go to was super packed so we pivoted and a search for nearby Asian restaurants. We love Thai food so why not. A 4.5 is grossly underrated! This place has amazing flavor!! If you don't know what to get, try the Nam, or as I call the DAMN that's sooo good!! Crispy egg rolls were on point, the Bun combo was great. After 12 years in San Antonio I finally have a favorite Thai restaurant. I can't wait to go back!!
I’ve been coming here since 2020. Food and service is always so good! I’ve tried many Thai restaurants and they have the best pad thai and very good pho.
The atmosphere is clean and cute. The food was delicious and generous portions. The staff was very friendly.
I got the pad Thai here and it was really good. I always get the pad Thai when I try a new place as it serves as a good standard. If they can do it well, then all their stuff will be good. My wife got the massaman curry. And it was excellent as well.
This place has delicious Curry. Green curry is my favorite but Penang is also great. Other dishes stand out as well, but nobody nails curry like this place.
Flavor Explosion — A Must-Try! From the first bite to the last, everything was absolutely delicious! The Thai Crispy Egg Rolls were golden and crunchy with the perfect filling. The Garlic Lover with Chicken was a standout — bold, savory, and packed with flavor for true garlic fans. And the Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp? So satisfying, with tender shrimp and just the right amount of seasoning. Great portions, fast service, and a cozy vibe. I’ll definitely be back!
We've been coming here since we moved in this area of San antonio for 11 years and the food and service never disappoints!! Everything here is so good!! Highly recommend!

If you took an upscale taqueria, swapped the bull fight and cojunto posters for Asian silk tapestries and banners, you would pretty much have this restaurant down. The far end of the restaurant towards the kitchen had the usual lighted two door refrigerator stocked with canned soft drinks and other potables. There was a bar along the left side as you entered, but besides that this place had a real unexpected Mom & Pop feel. Lemon grass and garlic chicken with stir fried veggies caught my eye and was ordered. I used to get this chicken lemon grass at a small place on the corner of Datapoint and Wurzbach that is now a, surprise, Mexican food restaurant and it served an outstanding rendition of this dish as a lunch special. My less adventurous and non-Thai acclimated spouse attempted to get an egg noodle dish (there were only two, all the rest are rice noodle) with beef, but the translation was lost somewhere in the order process with the less than sociable wait help. Like the movie, "Cool Hand Luke", "what we had here was a failure to communicate". I cringed at the sight of my spouse's entree delivery as I noticed a nest of hard crispy noodles on her plate. After a short little jousting session with the waitress, the crispy noodles were replaced with stir fried noodles, but did not come with any sauce as had been requested. And I was thinking that I had the wrong culture for a while as I requested nuoc mam from the waitress three different times without success. Was it my pronunciation or her auditory wax concentration? Anyway, I finally succeeded getting some fish sauce from the manager when he visited our table to insure our satisfaction. Ordered as medium spicy, my chicken dish was characterized by an overly generous amount of crispy carrot with scalloped edges, some fat half moon slices of squash, and an all too woody stemmed grass and just slightly lemony flavored chicken that did not contain much heat or garlic flavor (or chicken) to speak of. The white rice that accompanied the dish was, well, white rice. That's why I wanted the nuoc mam. Equally bland, the dish my wife sampled necessitated a call for styro less than 1/4 of the way through. The take-out ought to make the neighborhood raccoons happy. The menu here is extensive with loads of curries, rice noodle dishes, etc. and they all sounded appetizing. I don't want to say that our selected lunch entrees were totally unacceptable, but they definitely needed to add some zing to their quality, preparation and service. With lunch specials of $8.95 and up (sans drink) you would expect this Thai restaurant to be much more than Lao-sy. I must admit though, the egg drop soup was some of the best I have had.

*FOOD POISONING* DO NOT order the garlic lover w/ beef entree. My wife and I ordered there last night on 5/17 and have experienced very severe food poisoning. I will never eat there again after the amount of pain we have endured.
