JB's at Wild Oak Hyatt has mixed reviews. Chef Danny's tortilla class is a highlight. Some praise the sandwiches and broccoli cheddar soup, while others criticize the overpriced, low-quality food, especially the burgers, mac & cheese, and breakfast. Service quality also varies.

Chef Danny is great! His class on “The Art of Tortilla Making” was an absolute blast! If you’re staying at Wild Oak, sign up for this one. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learned how to make tortillas to boot!

If you are looking for something light, with flavor and definitely a good service, this is the place. Good sandwich, really good broccoli and cheddar soup, thank you for the nice experience.

The food is fine. I don’t have issues with that. It someone reading off a box in the back. Just know that going in. The main issue is the crazy cost for it. The drink is pretty good but again, was over priced. That’s what makes people unhappy and what makes them want to bring in outside food and beverages.
Nice hotel restaurant in the Wild Oaks Hyatt Resort. Fries were crispy & excellent, cheesesteak tasty, and the veggie burger was quite tasty.
We ordered burgers and a pulled pork pizza. I'm not a fan of barbecue pizza, but the burgers were good!

We have been here many times since 2015 but this last visit (8/21-22) the food was not very good. On our prior visits the food was very good. Dinner was fair but breakfast was unfortunately awful. Burned, stale and not appetizing to the point we all four did not eat it all. The breakfast bill alone was$ 80 for four people so it was very disappointing. The Staff was polite and nice. Hopefully it will be better next time.
The burgers we just ok. For the price, I expected better food. My son wouldn't even eat his kid sliders because the meat was way over done and tasted microwaved... I took a bite and confirmed it was not edible. We decided not to make a big deal but we won't be back.

Ordered some stuff for the family. One of the things was a kids mac and cheese. It was ten bucks. So then it came and it was so small that I actually thought it was a mistake. It was a small plastic container, and it was only half full. It was shocking to me. I mean, it’s a resort, and they are entitled to charge what they want, but if you order a kids meal, I would expect this Mac and cheese to satisfy perhaps a one-year-old.
On property at the Hyatt Residence Club. Bacon cheeseburger was no better than fast food quality but at resort prices. Chili was very good. Service was mediocre as there was no incentive with the mandatory 18% gratuity. Much better food / value can be found just a few miles away.

Bad food, slow service, for a coffee I had to wait like 10min there was no other customer. And for this size and type of hotel is really small and very few options.
I was expecting better since the rest of the hotel is so amazing. We had a breakfast croissant, cinnamon roll, fruit and tater tots. Tots were actually pretty good. We were a bit disappointed in the fruit since it was only the cheap honeydew/cantaloupe combo. We were very disappointed in the other food - both the croissant and the cinnamon roll seemed like they were just premade and heated in a microwave. The cinnamon roll was lukewarm and the egg in the breakfast sandwich was still cold. For the price paid at this restaurant, I would expect much better. This was the only meal we ate here, breakfast was much better at the adjacent Hyatt Regency for a similar cost.
Unfortunately, we had the worst margaritas we've ever had here, the Wild Oak Rita. I'm hoping the bartender was in her first day and simply didn't know the combination of pre-made SS & agave to tequila. We attempted to "save" the drinks at another bar nearby by the pool, but these drinks could not be saved. Everyone was nice and friendly, but first impressions last, so we went to the liquor store and made our own drinks for the week. The drinks at the sister property, Hyatt Hill Country were much better!
Not very good for a resort restaurant. One gets the impression that all the food is prefabricated and simply heated up to be served. Hamburgers was hard and dry. Meat was barely edible. Just not a good experience..
Below average food with above average prices! Look I understand we are at a hotel but come on! $20 nachos that are comprised of cheap chips, Velveeta cheese, and microwaved chicken. I think my son got the better end of the deal with his $10 Mac and cheese. Pros: close to room if hungry and you lack taste buds and hate the concept of value. Cons: over priced by a wide margin. Only 4 beers on tap. 20% gratuity is included in the final bill. Just not worth it. I've paid premiums for hotel restaurant food... Gaylord Texan.. Great Wolf Lodge.. & others. By far this was the most over priced blah experience to date.

Hyatt promotes Wild Oak Ranch as being a 5 Star resort experience and uses it as their flagship sales location for Hyatt Residence Club. I'll post another review about the resort itself so here we're just looking at the restaurant. The minor - they chose to position this place with the entrance facing away from all the room buildings so in 99% of cases when you approach it's from the back. How do I get in? Where's the door? There are two child proofed gates on either side, tucked around the sides, where you can enter the patio. Then you can either weave your way through the tightly quartered diners or realize there's a door a few feet down the wall where you can access the interior. So now you're inside by one of the bathrooms depending on which door you chose, and the bar is a few steps away. What to do now...there's no visible host stand so maybe you seat yourself? Nope they leave it to you to look out the front doors and see the host stand and understand that you should wander out there to ask for a table. Best practices, from easiest to beat experience: 1) put signs at both rear, patio doors directing customers to continue on to the front to see the host. 2) train your bar staff to keep an eye on the rear doors and direct people to the host stand. 3) had a better building design. We walked out from to come back in and be seated as there were no patio tables open. The menu is a bit of a mix bag and we settle on a chicken fried steak with corn on the coblette, mashed potatoes and a side of char grilled broccoli. Plus a kids hot dog with mandarin oranges as the side. Time passes, then some more slips by, then a bit more sneaks past the table. 25 minutes later the food arrives and it looks bad. The chicken fried steak was possibly run over by a steamroller then cooked in oil that hadn't been changed since the start of the month (it's April 26), plus the steak is over cooked. It even smells burned. Potatoes were drenched in so much butter the entire pile is yellow. We have the kitchen a small benefit of doubt and thought they used Yukon Gold taters so that contributed to the yellow, but a taste let us know butter was plentiful. But they also managed to be void of significant flavor? A wonder. The broccoli was char grilled but drenched in soooo much oil there was almost a 1/4" collected in the bottom of the bowl and the broccoli itself was flaccid (yep, I used that word to describe a food). The kids hot dog was shriveled and more like an overgrown little smokey sausage. But my son wouldn't hear of waiting for a new one so he ate it. And everything was either cool or barely warm. We eventually caught our waitress and explained the issues w the rest of the food. She said she'd get the manager and send her over. A few later the waitress returned and said the manager had to go to another building, "but I know what she'd do. She'd comp it." We said thanks but we were quite hungry and the food was inedible. "Do you want the kitchen to remake it?". "Yes, that'd be great." so off she went and returned in record time w edible, appetizing looking food. We ate and left knowing that my son and I would be back the next night due to my wife driving to meet a friend for dinner. Day 2 at JB's - sad waitress. Sweet, pulled pork sandwich and kids slider plate. We knew from the night before to not expect much and that the food would all be previously frozen - no scratch made items at this place on a 5 Star resort. Pulled pork - maybe 5 oz of meet, luke warm. Sliders - previously frozen patties, buns were clearly from a package because the tops were still connected, as were their bottoms. Didn't care to deal w another wait for remake, simply shared the dissatisfaction w the waitress, ate and left. I imagine prisoners have better food.

Breakfast was all Microwave. I had the Maria's biscuits and gravy for $6. Only one biscuit and very little gravy. Wifey had the same. One of my daughters had a yogurt and my other daughter had a cinnamon roll which the is which the total came out to $45. Is very small breakfast. It's kind of expensive to me. My opinion...
Hard to believe this is the only option for food at the Hyatt Wild Oaks. For such a large property this watering hole is woefully insufficient. Their "breakfast" is just a cooler with pre-packaged foods that look as appetizing as rubber. They also refused to make waffles during the breakfast hours because the "machine wasn't plugged in." The restaurant is a joke considering the cost to stay at this property
Service was great. But quality of food for a Hyatt was horrible, especially for the price. Extremely overpriced for the quality of food that you get. Food seemed like school cafeteria quality ordered the mac & cheese for my son, and it was literally kraft mac & cheese. Would not recommend eating here your money would go much longer somewhere else.
Such a beautiful place, but the staff was rude, inattentive, during our dinner visit which we didn't eat there because of the waitress being so disrespectful. Ordered Breakfast the next morning for delivery and found out the food was horrible. They served food almost like pre-Packaged sandwiches warmed up in microwave, the tater tots were re-heated, nothing seemed fresh. I paid around $16 for breakfast Croissant sandwich with overcooked tater tots. I cant even remember if it was bacon or ham in there. It was horrible. Not recommending this at all unless there are good changes made.
I was really disappointed with my experience. My pizza was over an hour late, and by the time it arrived, it was cold. To make matters worse, the two drinks I ordered were incorrect. I had to walk to the restaurant and wait a while before receiving my order. Happened twice by the way in different days.
