Me and my family came here for Valentine's Day and we had a wonderful time thanks to Almas great service and the good food and drinks. Thank you very much for this great experience.

Amazing! The wife and I decided to go to Carinos for our Anniversary and everything was great from the parking spot to the drinks to the food to the wonderful staff and right down to the check . Wife and I always love their chicken parm! Happy hour is all day every day in the bar area! Which gives great deals on food and drinks! I recommend the calamari and Johnny Margarita! Must try the Spicy Chicken and Shrimp! It is my absolute favorite! They have an abundance of TVs in the bar area, which is a great place to watch some of your favorite sports! Must try!

JACOB is an amazing server, he’s very professional and accommodating. I ordered a bottle of wine and he served and swirled my glass and it’s the best glass of wine I’ve ever tasted. I will definitely recommend requesting JACOB as your server.

We had the pleasure to be waited by a great, loving,attentive woman named Alma De Leon. From the time we got there, she was polite very attentive to where we didn't have to ask her for refills, she would bring them right away. She had a very contagious smile that would uplift the room. I will surely be back just because of the service she offered my family and me.

Huge fan of this place. There used to be one in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that I would go to and I fell in love with it immediately. I was shocked to see one of these in the San Antonio area. We had a chicken pasta dish that was incredible as well as an amazing chicken barbecue flat bread pizza. I would highly recommend Johnny Carinos to anyone who is looking for excellent italian food.

Kevin definitely went above and beyond to make up for a late night misshap. Picture is what's left of the calamari after 2 min being on the table (it was full)! Original review - one star -Ordered Calamari and there was nothing but fried batter in the container, maybe 4 or 5 pieces of calamari. Ordered the chicken Parm and the chicken was raw! Everything was cold when arrived. Did order delivery so obviously not expecting it to be fresh out the kitchen but it was raw and cold cold.

Went here for an Anniversary Dinner. So yum! We got House Salad w/Blue Cheese Dressing, Sampler Appetizer, Lobster Ravioli & Rosemary Chicken. I also love their Fresh Baked Bread & Garlic Dipping Oil (not pictured). They also have specials on Family Nights which are on Sundays & Mondays. I'm always surprised it's not more crowded. I guess people forgot about this place since it's the last one here in San Antonio. So make a trip to (Johnny) Carino's.

This place never disappoints. I brought my mother here for Mother's Day. We had the special for 2, which includes a delicious appetizer, endless salad, warm bread loaves served with olive oil and fresh herbs and garlic, 2 hearty sized pasta entrees, and a delicate mouthwatering dessert. Roxanne, the manager came by or table to welcome us and make sure we were enjoying every moment of this dining experience. Our server Paul took great care of us and was very knowledgeable in describing the dishes. My mother loved it. Thank you JC for making her feel so special. I truly appreciate it! 🫶❤️

It was late and we had not reserved a table. Even so, they treated us with great pleasure, were friendly and brought the food quickly. The establishment turkey was delicious, very soft and the sauce was just right. The accompaniments were also good. In general, good service and delicious food. I recommend it.

It's such an amazing restaurant to go and have a Hot Delicious Meal!! Food was exceptional, I mean hot, vibrant food presentation, and Flavor was worth every dollar. Service was Excellent Respectful, Attentive, Polite, always asking for anything or refills. Super amazing atmosphere! The service is always so friendly and very accommodating. The food is delicious! Their pizza is a must try! So many types and they haven't disappointed yet! We love eating here. It’s easily our favorite place! Our waitress Alma is a joy. She is extremely helpful and always goes out of her way to make us feel special. We ordered the spaghetti chicken parm, a ribs and wings combo, salads, and lemon pepper wings. The portions were generous, and entire meal was delicious, with enough leftovers for a second take home meal. Alma, our server, was very attentive and thoughtful. We had a birthday celebration on Feb 2026 for my sister at Carino’s 231 Loop 410 SW and I was truly impressed with the great service, delicious food and party room set up. Adam (one of the managers) made my reservation without any problems and when I arrived 30 minutes early the party room was ready. The server Gee Kristi took care of our group of 16 with excellent service, friendliness and efficiency. The food portions are plentiful and delicious. It’s not the first time we visit this Carino’s and it won’t be the last. Thank you for taking care of our families today!

We’re a family of 4 with two toddlers visiting from out of town, and we had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. Our server, Alma, was very attentive, patient, and accommodating especially with our little ones. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us often. Traveling with toddlers isn’t always easy, but she made our visit smooth and enjoyable.

My mom wasn't the biggest fan of the pasta that came with the Friday deal, but it was probably the lack of variety when it came to the different sauces, we all loved the shrimp though. Made Mother’s Day good son got sick (picked up a virus it hit fast y sudden) . They helped us pack up get him to the potty y get us out the door to get to a hospital, luckily wasn’t something serious just a random tummy bug. The manager was so sweet got us taken care of since son only drank a tea I only had a sip before it happened they said not to worry take care of son. Sweet family oriented restaurant a rarity now of days I highly recommend them. Catering,website with rewards program where coupons to specials come in your email box, dine in or take out. No drive through ,but does have a website to order from with a pickup spots in the parking lot. Has a bar area you can family areas both. Great food highly recommend here. No they do not cook food fast because their cooking it right for better flavors. Italian sodas y flavored teas are great try them too. Come in just to drink eat an appetizer or sit down have a great meal. Not any more expensive than most places now just depends on what you’re buying. Extremely great food we eat there as a family ,but mainly SR takes his business clients there because it is high class food. Definitely recommend to business men needing a classy place (has a bar separate too) Clean if you come during a busy hour like any restaurant they catch up as the crowds die down.

Carino’s is back—and better than ever! They were struggling during COVID with food quality. I’m so glad they’ve returned! The food was absolutely delicious, just like I remembered. I always come back for the Chicken Bowtie Festival—it’s a must-try! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I want to give a personal shout out to the staff! They helped us celebrate my mom's 80th Birthday on March 8th last night, and they went above and beyond. I brought in several decorations (including balloons and streamers) with a limited amount of time to decorate before our large party would arrive. Ms. Roxanne and Ms. Liberty graciously volunteered to help me decorate and did an amazing job. Thank you again ladies for all of your help! 😊 Mr. Rick took on the monumental task of waiting on our party single handedly. He was gracious, patient, and extremely friendly. I love this dish, but this time, it had less flavor. The chicken was dry. The waitress only dropped off my plate and turned to walk away wi too it a word. I saw couple near me being asked if they wanted cheese on top of their plate and I wasn’t offered the same. Maybe it was just an off day. I’ll definitely give this location another try some time.

Jhonny Carino's was an interesting stop in my exploring San Antonio. Went in for dinner. Didnt appear too busy. It felt actually rather homely than a restaurant to me. Very relaxed. Very chill. I was seated withing 15 minutes. Server got to me in another 10. I wasnt tripping, last stop of my day and I had nothing to do so I didnt mind a wait. She was very, friendly and paid attention to detail.... i had chicken Alfredo festival and calamari as an app. Now the calamari was not bad but wasnt too flavorful either, but the lemon and marina sauce made up for that. 5/10. The comp bread was tasty too with the garlic butter. My entree was brought out hot and very pretty to look at. Almost menu quality presentation! It was a solid 7/10 taste wise. Oh you also get a comp salad as well that was cool. I enjoyed my meal enough to order a slice of lasagna to take home.. spent about 45 or so. Worth it in my opinion I did not leave hungry if someone says the dont give enough food id argue thats debatable to a high degree. Over all experience I'd give it a decent 7.5/10 its a good stop for sure!

The wait time for dining room seating was over 30mins on a Tuesday night at 6pm. Apparently there were only two servers working. The service was good enough and the food was delicious. The salads were drowning in dressing but the bread was served warm and tasted fresh. The skilletini was quite tasty and the bowtie pasta dish (not the family size) was enough for two people to share. The ladies room was not clean - I would suggest not using it if at all possible. The dining experience was overall pleasant. Not great but good enough for a Tuesday night.

I visited this location for a friends birthday and was inconvenienced initially by a late entree, however the manager, Roxanne, comped it and I was very appreciative of that. Alma worked hard to be a great server as well with a group our size. Thank you for the great service!

My husband loves this place. I like this place too. The food is always fresh and hot when it comes out and we like the fact that we never have to wait very long to be seated like other places in that area. The only complaint we have are the drinks can be a little better. Most of the time they are very watered down. We tried the zucchini appetizer for the first time and it was actually really good so I would recommend that appetizer. My husband gets the same dish everytime he goes which is the spicy chicken and shrimp pasta (just a heads up it is really really spicy). I always get the shrimp scampi and it's pretty good, just have to add a little salt and pepper for more flavor. We like their salads because their always fresh. We would reccomend this place to others and we'll be back for sure.

Kudos to our server Tiffany for being so attentive and smiling behind her mask. The dip for their warm, soft bread contained toasted garlic flakes! We had the Italian Combinations V2 which included a salad of choice. My wife had Eggplant Parmesan/Chicken & Jalapeno Ravioli and I had Sirloin/Chicken & Jalapeno Ravioli. The 7 oz medium rare steak rivaled that at any Steak House. It was TENDER and FLAVORFUL. Usually they are one or the other. The Eggplant Parmesan was prepared differently than usual, which altered the taste. We shared that with Mary the manager and she exchanged it for another entree. Not a deal- breaker, however I always write candid reviews. We don't hold that against them and will definitely return soon. And yes, I do recommend this location!

Food has been pretty good and timely. Some servers are very good, others need some improvement. 5 yrs later, pretty much the same except service was worse. Waiting for drinks, have to wait to ask for more napkins. Medium-well steak came out medium rare.

Wonderful staff! The food is always great, the bread and oil is so addicting! But one room that has the tvs , the floor is always sticky, and the middle table top is always sticky too?! Kinda off putting . But feels like the whole place needs a wipe down and refreshing update. We miss our Laredo location though

We had a special from a mailing advertisement and decided to go and try it. It's a lovely restaurant and was quite busy as it was a weekend afternoon. They did have several sections of their dining room closed as it looked as if they were short on servers. But even though the service was a bit slow, the server did a good job of keeping up on all his tables. My companion had a lovely wedge salad and the Spaghetti with Artichokes. She said both were pretty good. I had a combo plate that was in the advertisement. It was a serving of their lasagna and a creamy fettuccine Alfredo with sliced ribeye steak. The pasta was pretty standard, as was the lasagna, but the steak was wonderful. It was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I wish there was more of it, lol. All in all it was a good experience with decent Italian food.

The food was over heated the chicken was too dry. Our waiter had 5 tables and he seemed too busy to keep up. Our drinks never got a refill we had one bread and 5 times he mentioned he would bring some more bread, never happened. For the prices the service and food did not meet expectations. I will give it another try because maybe it was just one bad waiter.

The food here was very good and I'd have gave it 4 stars but my waiter was awful. He was very inattentive and unfriendly. Food-wise, I got started with the artichoke spinach dip. It had more artichoke pieces then I've seen. My wife and I both got seafood and pasta entrees that were great.

The service was ok and the food we ordered the seafood fettuccine and chicken Parmigiano was mediocre. I couldn't eat the mussels, it just tasted bad and more than half of them were still closed and my partner had to help me open them. I wonder how they were cleaned. Either way it tasted like hair and I just couldn't. It look like a nice environment maybe I'll go back there for drinks only.

In the party with three, I was the only one to enjoy my food. The salad was old turning brown. I believe the waitress was new so I can't say whether the service was good or not.

And downhill this place went... It's been 7 yrs since we've been here, and quality has definitely gone down. They have bbq stuff here, ribs and brisket. Don't get it, gross, no flavor, and cold. Stick to pasta stuff, which was decent. Pizza is pretty good too. Restrooms were filthy, and women's restroom was almost unusable. It was brought to the staff's attention, and nothing was done about it. Service was underwhelming and very lacking. It's hard to get drink refills when the waitress disappears quickly to mingle with the other 30 workers standing around barely doing anything. Cook in the back with a large/long beard did not have a beard net cover. Will not return and don't recommend it, but it you tough it out, hopefully you will have a better experience. Got here at 6:50 went into the restaurant and it literally was empty couldn’t of had 10 tables occupied! Then was told it would be 35 to 40 minutes to be seated. Went outside to take a look around I have attached pictures of the outside. Lots of dead trees and shrubs, huge amount of trash ! Took 45 minutes to be seated. I will update this for you after we eat. Took 35 minutes for a waiter to take our order. So I went to the restroom to wash my hands. DISGUSTING ! There is literally trash laying on the floor around the entire restaurant! My family and I love Carino’s but we will never eat at this location again. The service was horrible, the food was bad and the manager was rude. We observed people sitting at the bar eating and drinking. When they left NO SANITATION was done. In the dining room when one couple left the table sat uncleaned for 22 minutes. Again NO SANITATION.

This place can’t decide what it wants to be, a barbecue place or Italian. I was told there was a 45 minute wait but the place was half full, on both the bar side and the Italian side. The general manager was waiting tables, hosting, and whatever else. They must have been critically short of staff. The food was average, to be kind. Very kind! We were shocked at the bill which reflected a quality Italian restaurant fee structure but that was not the experience. My wife had Italian but I had the St. Louis style ribs which were really poor. The meat and the sauce were very low grade. Texas is known for barbecue so the competition is high but they were far below even the most barbecue challenged states.

What happened to Carinos? It's been 10+ years since eating at one of their restaurants and I remember it was fine, but this recent visit really disappointed me and my family. Food: The bread and olive oil dip to start was great, and the 2nd best part of the meal tbh The lasagna was the best part of the meal as it was very flavorful and saucy. It came with part of my meal along with fettuccine and slices of sloppy ribeye steak that resembled wet beef. The fettuccine, that all 3 of us ordered individually, was horrible. It resembled egg noodles and was served in a soupy Alfredo sauce. My wife ordered the jalapeño Alfredo, and it was lazily made with pickled jalapeños tossed into it. The way it read, we assumed the sauce would of been blended and green. Horrible execution. The service was spotty and inattentive, despite it being a slow Wednesday night. Price wise, its about $20/person and over priced for the quality of food and service.

Ordered 8oz rideye with spaghetti. We asked for medium well. We got burned with a lot of fat.

Our chicken was still red/pink and no apology just a okay well remake it. Manager or whoever was in charge should do better.

Totally clueless. I was seated after an…interesting…wait time…considering a largely empty restaurant. I look at the menu, it’s physically, completely disgusting. Greasy, containing food remains, just ridiculous. Unclean seat, lunatic pricing, and in the 5+ minutes of me sat there with no service, I left. I can only assume the food matches the trend.

The whole dining experience here was a fever dream to say the least. Starting with an inattentive server to hospital bland pasta dishes. The entire place is stuck in 2002 and the workers not in attendance were clearly pepper, salt, and herbs. Will not be coming back or recommending. Oh yeah on top of that they want to charge $20+ for the plates there that a toddler could’ve throw together for less. Do yourself a favor and cook at home.

Restaurant was almost empty, server was yelling across the restaurant to confirm a drink order. The deal of the day plate came right away and the other 4 entrées took for ever!!!! House salad still had the core/stem of the lettuce. Pasta lacking seasoning Meat sauce was not flavorful nor was comfort food, plus it had a very dark/brown color to it that made it look like. BBQ sauce. I understand caramelized sauce but that was just plain ridiculous. Horrible and dingy plastic tablecloth. Price doesn't justify the meal. Not going back!!!!

Been coming for five years and my wife has been coming for 11 years but after tonight we won't be coming back. The first thing we noticed was the stuffed mushrooms were way smaller and didn't taste the same as before , second thing we noticed was they ran out of spaghetti for the dish and used angel hair instead but over cooked it, finally we got the tiramisu and found it to be unpleasant compared to before the only great thing of the night was our waitress she did everything great but even with that we will not be returning.

My experience at this place was unfortunately disappointing. The service was severely lacking due to understaffing, which caused long delays with the orders. The food wasn't terrible, but it lacked flavor and soul. On top of that, the place looked a bit untidy, somewhat dirty, and the bathrooms were in really bad shape. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Carinos is under new management and it is not top of the line anymore . no smiles or greetings from any manager the food amount is pea size. The management just took advantage of us seniors. our waiter kate was so kind to us but management was absent in all ways. what a shame not going back to unfriendly there at carinos

This is the third time we have gone for my husband’s birthday and after this visit, I’m not sure if we’re going to do it again. I arrived about 20 minutes after my party. They had already told me that the waiter was very rude. Waiter never came to the table to ask for refills when we spoke to him his demeanor was very rude and standoffish. Anytime we ask for help or plates to go he had an attitude. I feel like somebody in this industry that’s going to work hand-in-hand with people should have happy energy and wanting to please the customer but instead he just was frumpy and you could see it all over his face like he wasn’t happy to be our server. Food took a very long time to arrive and again he never came to check on us. The restaurant was dead. There was two parties in there. We were one of them. Saddens me that people like this still exist in a workplace and managers can’t see that they’re bad for business. Obviously, this location struggles. Maybe you need to rethink who you hire.
