Japanese tea garden is the best place for lunch with a new friend! We sat outside over the umbrellas & had a wrap and some bubble tea 😉 stag is great! Food is fresh & yummy!

A beautiful oasis near the zoo, The Pearl & Central Market. Our garden club was thrilled to tour this wonderful garden. We look forward to more flowers in May, June and the fall colors. We saw turtles of various ages and the one big catfish that's in the pools. The zoo had provided numerous young koi, a duck, and a young duckling. This is well worth a visit. In the heat, sit in the shade near the large waterfall. And, it's free!

Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. The kimchi fries are amazing!

We walked around the Japanese Tea Garden and ate inside to cool off. I had the goji tea which was great. I had the vegetarian bento box. I believe it to be vegan as well. There was squash, zucchini and carrots in a sweet teriyaki sauce. There was rice noodles in similar sauce. A small salad with ginger dressing and a seaweed salad atop cucumbers. Then 2 pieces of vegan sushi. It was pretty good. The gentleman at the counter were very friendly.

The Jingu House it's a small cozy and beautiful cafe at the Japanese tea garden, the bubble tea with berries was amazing, delicious and refreshing 🥰 was my first time inside the cafe and they are really cautious with the COVID preventions, I loved the inside of the shop, they have small desserts, a variety of food and teas.

M
Michael Urbano

We enjoyed the updated interior for lunch and had some great dishes and drinks.

I can only comment on the popsicles, which were great. The staff we talked to were friendly and they gave a brief explanation of the Jingu House. The restroom facilities here were clean. Would visit again when I return to the Japanese Gardens.

Very friendly staff! And delicious food! We loved the pork buns and the banana desert! 💚🙏

Definitely stop in and grab a nice cool drink for a stroll around the garden. The Barista was so nice and helpful! It has a very nice indoor dining area to cool off after the walk! I didn't get any food, but I will be back no doubt!

Hether Mccuistion

We sat down in their super cute little restaurant. It was so lovely that they had their windows open and you could smell the blooms from the mountain laurels outside. We had their kimchi fries (which were amazing) and I highly suggest the coconut- pineapple slush!

Walked up to ask about seating availability and we were greeted by Jeremy. We thought he was an excellent host and can't say enough about him for giving us extra attention and making sure my lady had a great experience even though she has a mushroom allergy. All of the food we ordered were delicious (and that's coming from a picky New Yorker). Edamame, California roll, Ramen and chicken salad sandwich. The star of the show was the taro kahlua cocktail. Jeremy made it himself and that's when we learned that he knew so much about the food because he is a manager and he ensured that her food was not cross contaminated. Service was excellent and timely. *I do wish the mango sticky rice was sweeter, but that taro kahlua... we ordered 3 and she finished my 2nd drink (then realized she was itchy 😄. I had ramen which has mushrooms. She's fine, but the straw had some remnants). If you come to the Japanese Tea Garden, this is a must do for lunch. Hope you get the Jeremy 5 star service experience too.

We went and though it was a wait and a bit pricey the food was well worth it, super good and the servers were nice, we had the valentines special and me and my partner got a free slice of cheesecake as a valentines couple, overall amazing place we definitely plan to return

Really fun fusion style menu. Can have busy times and it being a small place could be long wait time for food but the flavors are excellent. Nothing too "weird" so I can consider this a good way for people to try Japanese cuisine who haven't before. The Gardens that it is located in are beautiful after years of construction to have a running waterfall and koi pond. Beautiful place!

J
Jessica Leigh Graves

By chance we caught the first night of the new dinner menu, and we were smitten by every last item we had; cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and dessert were each and every one a superb delight. Barely got this photo of the mango sticky rice before it was all gone. Definitely coming back to taste everything they do here.

Awesome San Antonio

We had the pleasure of experiences the Chef's Dinner at Jingu House. Wow! The overall the experience was fantastic. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted with friendly faces and quickly served ice water (so refreshing from the Texas heat). The stand outs for us were the house made Miso soup, tuna tostada, hamachi sashimi, and sake poached pear. If you're looking for a great date night, this is it! Looking forward to going back.

Wonderful experience! Service was top tier and the staff were very kind. The food was absolutely amazing and probably the best Asian cuisine we've ever had! Definitely a must stop for anyone visiting San Antonio and wants to try some of the best food in texas!

I had lunch at Jingu House, and it was so amazing! I had the miso soup, edamame, and the tori katsu. Very delicious and great service. Before or after you eat, you can enjoy a walk around the Japanese gardens. Such a perfect location.

Small menu but great service! Perfect little lunch spot before walking the Japanese Garden. Thank you to the server that accommodated us in Spanish. Recommend reserving ahead like we did for a smooth experience!

This is for the grab and go- incredibly cool collection of teas, Boba and slushies with alcoholic options and sodas directly from Japan.. Half the people visiting the gardens were carrying Boba tea and looked happy too. I enjoyed my limeade slush which can be had with sake and my daughter enjoyed her strawberry milk tea. Not sure what people are expecting with the negative reviews.

Absolutely fantastic place. The Tonkotsu Ramen bowl was the best ramen I’ve ever had. And the crispy glazed pork belly was absolutely fire!! Our waitress was attentive, the atmosphere was gorgeous and the food was top tier! 10/10 spot

Good ramen. Mogu mogu juice is a great drink. The outdoor tables are not very well sun protected, so that's not great. Overall it was maybe a little overpriced for what it was.

I stopped by today with my husband while we were visiting the garden and he tells me "look! They have boba!" SO not being able to resist a good boba I ordered the matcha one... I'm very picky with my matcha drinks, but this one exceeded my expectations. It's very tasty, refreshing, and a nice portion with a VERY good taste. The base tea they used for it is delicious, thank you hubby for noticing the yummy things.

This place is great! New ownership, so expect something different if you've been here before. I recommend the firecracker shrimp. It's a unique building, and the back seating area gives a tree-house feel, while the outside seating looks over the beautiful sunken gardens.

Me and my boyfriend went here, the food was AMAZING !! The staff were super friendly, super talkative, and very attentive. The servings are quite large and share-able, the hot chocolate cake is to DIE for. The inside is small and neat, which I personally prefer, with really neat and pretty views outside. 1,000% coming back frequently. <3

This was an amazing first time experience. They clearly make their food from scratch and everything tasted amazing compared to a lot of restaurants in San Antonio. If you have a good pallet for taste and quality come here. Don’t listen to these people that have never tasted a genuine good meal before because this restaurant had amazing food. Amazing service everyone was nice and well and always asked how great everything was.

Finally decided to check this place out, and it was such a good experience from top to bottom. All members of the staff were accommodating and sooo sweet. The dining room was full so we sat out on the cute, breezy patio. Great service :) the food and drinks were amazing. I suggest the wasabi lemongrass martini and the ramen. We brought our 3 kids with us, so after lunch we bought parasols(which were fairly affordable) at the gift shop, and walked around the tea gardens. This was such a nice family afternoon outing and we will definitely be back!

My husband and I decided to have our anniversary here. We walked around the tea gardens then ate dinner. We loved it! The service was fantastic! The kalamari karaage and steak congee were great. The ramen and kimchi were tasty too. The cocktails were boozy and delicious. High recommend to to check this place out on any occasion!

C

Actually the food wasn’t bad, sashimi was very fresh and good quality, sushi was good. It is almost impossibly to overcook ramen, but they managed to overcooked them, and the pork belly was a bit too salty, other than that, one can’t complain about the afresco dining surrounded by nature and garden, worth the price.

Blown away by the great experience. Great classic Japanese American dishes with a view. Sitting inside the restaurant looking out at the gorgeous view. It’s almost like a treehouse restaurant. Friendly staff & very hard working I’ve noticed everyone was very productive (not just standing around on their phones) & goes above with their service.

We came here for a drink after exploring the Japanese garden. We sat inside because it was really humid outside, but the patio was busy with guests when we were there. Inside there aren't as many tables but there is ac and big windows and natural lights. We were attended to right away by our server Lily who was super nice! She helped us decide on cocktails and we both really liked our selections. The bartender even stopped by our table to ask us how our drinks were! My bf really liked the Jasmine ginger Margarita. I had the blackberry bramble and it was really nice and refreshing. It was sweet and not tart at all which I prefer! I really wanted to try the food but we already had dinner plans, so we will have to come back!

Not many food options other than some takeaway items such as chicken salad sandwich, turkey wrap, PB&J, pork buns, noodles salad, house salad, crispy spring rolls, chips and cookies. Tons of drink options to wash the food down with, adult and non-adult. We had the chicken salad sand. & pork buns and it was delicious! Ice cream too! Service was swift and friendly. Plenty of inside and shaded outside seatings. 👌

We stopped here to see the Japanese Tea Garden while in San Antonio for our son’s graduation from Airforce BMT. It was breathtaking! The garden and paths are so beautiful! You almost feel like you are in another country. It’s free to roam around the garden, also. We decided to grab a bite to eat at their cafe on site. They have a nice menu and full menu of drinks - teas, craft cocktails, iced drinks, etc … everything we got was soooo delicious! There are bathrooms downstairs and a small section of gifts in the tea shop. A must stop if you’re in the area!

The Japanese, or Chinese, Tea Gardens, we were a bit confused, was very pretty, even in early March. Jingu House was interesting. A warm respite anyway. I wouldn't order the "Bubble" tea (pearl milk or boba milk or Chinese bōbà tea) again. I've had bubble tea that actually had marble sized tapioca balls but they were filled with a juice or flavoring. These were just tasteless, chewy, somewhat mushy little balls of tapioca. Not good. Very pricey too The staff, two young men the day we visited, wasn't particularly friendly or efficient. Not sure I'd recommend the Jingu House but definitely visit the gardens.

Got an iced chai latte from here after visiting the Japanese tea garden. They do but have dairy free options to replace the milk hence why I took a star off. Other than that the drink was pretty good.

K

Outdoor seat only. We quite enjoy the view in the Japanese garden and the quality of the bento boxes. Chicken bento was far better than beef one. The jasmine green tea was good but the boba was not chewy at all.

Good for a light lunch. Sushi options, sandwiches, and vegetarian options as well. You have to order at the walk up counter and then find your own seat. They will bring your food to you. Good flavored tea selections. A great break from the heat if you are visiting Sunken Gardens in the summer time.

Phenomenal little cozy and casual restaurant overlooking the Japanese Tea Garden. I went mid-day on a busy Sunday and was able to get seated inside in about 10 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and got our orders in quickly, however about halfway through our server forgot about us, and by the end when she had brought the check I had to get another waitress to check us out. The food definitely did not disappoint though, so if you're fine with a little bit of self service and in no rush I would absolutely recommend this super cute place.

Nice little food shop on the top of the Japanese Tea Garden park. We had to cool down after our walk around the garden and had a Pecan Ice.

Food is great grab and go food very light and very refreshing does not blow me away but I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth. Definitely a surprising find in San Antonio I really like the atmosphere. The fact that the garden has been here for 100 years now is amazing. For anyone passing through here this is a must see.

Stopped by the restaurant while at the Japanese Tea Garden. Me and my friends opted to try their drinks which were good. However, not many vegan items on the menu. Would have liked to see some tofu or tempeh dishes.

P

The Japanese Tea Gardens are beautiful but this place is a total ripoff if you're wanting sushi! $10 for 8 very small pieces of sushi with imitation crab?!? I was upset but my friends were even more upset!! The waitress brought out another 4 pieces cause even she thought it was a ripoff but the fact that they even sell that small sushi roll for $10 is ridiculous! Prob will only go back for tea and dessert if I ever go back...

S
Sarah

Alright me and my friends only tried their boba teas but they weren’t very good. The boba was very bland and seemed old. But I’m also from Houston and we have tons of amazing boba shops here, so maybe my standards are too high? At least the prices were fine.

P
Patrick

Jingu House seems to have a hit or miss menu. The teriyaki chicken wrap was really great, flavorful, and fresh! The vegetarian bento box? Not so much... The sushi was a bit bland and the vegetables were soggy like microwaved left overs. The black tea was not too great either. However, the strawberry tea my wife got was incredible! Choose wisely I suppose. The food certainly has potential but some of the items could use an overhaul or price adjustment. We skipped out on pastries as the food itself was already a bit expensive but they looked tasty. The gardens themselves (mentioned in another review) are beyond worth the trip! If you don't come for the food, come for the view! I am grateful for the cleanliness and following of CDC guidelines inside of the restaurant. Seating is limited and spaced out appropriately. Guests aren't allowed to crowd the ordering area either. Staff is firm on this and it is highly appreciated!

J
Junyi Chu

This place is pretty overpriced. The wooden gate at the front says “Chinese Tea Garden” and it says “Japanese Tea Garden” everywhere else. China and Japan are 2 completely different countries so just mixing them together is pretty much the same as comparing Mexico to Spain. But I can’t complain too much about that since I don’t know if the garden itself is part of this property. Aside from that, I felt pretty ripped off. Boba Tea was 7 dollars for a small cup that was filled with 50% ice. Gyoza was 12 dollars for 6 Gyozas. That’s 2 dollars for 1 2 inch long dumpling. Service was mediocre. Pretty disappointed with the restaurant.

C
Cassandra Furter

The tea is delicious and the men working behind the counter were the perfect, kindest gentlemen we could’ve hoped to encounter. The owner, an older woman, was watching the door like a hawk. My friend and I each bought a tea and went to eat salads we brought with us to eat at their picnic tables outside and we were informed that if we wanted to eat other food that we’d have to go to the picnic area across the street, even though we were paying customers. The other annoying factor was that there were 3 empty tables and no other customers in line... why not just let us sit? Poor customer service. Ruined the experience.

J
Justin Marks

For the grab and go, that's all that was there. The poke bowl was made the day before, it tasted fine. The gyoza was alright served in a box with some sauce. Service was confusing. We ordered at one place and were told to pick up at another, where we would hear our names, but that never happened. After 15 minutes we asked for order and it was quickly brought out. The atmosphere is the garden and it's beautiful!

Their late tastes just like milk, their green tea is very mediocre and to get those two drinks took over ten minutes. The staff aren't very helpful and the merchandise don't have any prices on them at all so you won't know what the cost is until you buy them.

The food was so good, we loved the addition of some Hispanic flavors to classic Japanese. The mango tea was a little watery but the Thai tea was absolutely on point. Service was pretty slow for order taking but once orders were in, the food came out pretty quickly and was warm and delicious. Atmosphere and view is fantastic but service could be a bit better

Just precooked reheated foods, small portion and price as regular restaurant, I ordered a pork bento and the pork tasted like jerky, very salty and chewy. QR code ordered and you needed to pay including tip ahead, took almost 30 minutes to have foods delivered. However it is the only restaurant in the garden, so if you must eat, it is better than starving. For me, one time experience is enough.

I wouldn’t come here for the food but the experience is ok. It was a bit pricey but expected for a tourist spot. The buns are more chinese style than Japanese, and tasted ok but i wish the chicken karaage bun had more filling. The krab salad bun was ok. I would not recommend the luke warm gyoza, however i do recommend the Tuna poke nachos. I was curious what “sweet green tea” was but it turned out to be unsweetened green tea. Overall it was a ok experience.

I got the brown sugar bubble tea but it wasn’t so nice. You couldn’t really taste the tea and the boba pearls were hard. I think they weren’t boiled long enough maybe. So it lead to a weird mouthfeel, not what you’d expect from boba. But the aguas frescas was pretty decent and refreshing in the Texan heat. Not too sweet!

I came here expecting an authentic tea room experience and that is not what I got. Service was sub par even though the poor guy was trying his best. I think lack of training might be part of it. I will say the bento box was great but probably wouldn’t come back here just based on that

It was a nice little place to stop for drinks (with neat decor), but the boba was not heated up enough. It was too chewy. The ordering area was very cramped. They do not allow you to sit inside the outdoor restaurant area, if you only buy drinks.

L
LBC

For being a Japanese tea garden, I really wish they’d figure out the boba. It’s barely chewable and flavorless. Sort of sad when they have the perfect opportunity to serve awesome treats to so many visitors.

The lady I first encountered was rude. We were waiting outside in a line to order lunch. My 4 year granddaughter decided she needed a potty break. I’m glad they weren’t letting people crowd inside but to not let us pass so she could use the bathroom was a bit much. The bathrooms are downstairs away from the ordering area. By the time it was our turn to go in I decided to let her use the bathroom before we ordered. I was informed the bathrooms were for paying customers only. Our original intention was to grab lunch. She only decided she needed to go after we had waited in line 10 minutes. I understand if that’s their policy and it’s their right to do so. My issue is with how rudely she was informing us. We ended up with a veggie wrap which was just okay. The herbal tea would’ve been good if it didn’t taste like they’d watered it down. A bit on the pricey side too.

I decided to take my daughter and her friend here for a fun treat. They love all things Japanese. The online menu says they have quite a few gluten free options. When we got there I was informed that the only thing gluten free was the noodles, but the employees didn't seem to sure of those. So I just ordered fruit salad and a bag of chips for myself. The chips were good. The fruit was a large serving, but the cantaloupe was so unripe that it was almost white. My daughter ordered a turkey sandwich that she said was ok, but then she ended up not eating the bread because it was dried out. My daughter's friend ordered the crab rolls. She said they were almost tasteless and mostly rice. They both ordered bubble tea that they said was bland. I ordered peach tea that was bland. The food is way overpriced for what you get. I'm only giving it 2 stars because the atmosphere is nice and there's a great view from the large windows. The tea gardens are beautiful. The restaurant needs some work.

The menu is pricey and the taste doesn’t match the price. My boba is watered down and the chicken bun isn’t seasoned well. Waffle was dry as well as the chicken. Pretty disappointed today.

The food here is pricey but not really tasty. The only thing nice about the place is the view.

Even on a busy day, I was hoping to get corteous service. I tried to give a tip as well:( but it was so busy, the cashier did my transaction to get to the next person.

Loved the scenery! Took lots of photos and would come back for the experience of the garden. The service was great and the people that helped us were so friendly. The atmosphere had the right idea and was very calming and aesthetically pleasing after walking around in the heat! However, the food was flat-out disappointing. The menu was cute and really got us excited to order, but when we actually received our food the flavors just weren’t there. We had the Tori Katsu and Tonkatsu ramen for entrees, and we also had the gyoza and kimchi fries for appetizers. The entrees and gyoza were very bland, but the kimchi fries were a great surprise and very delicious. Everything we had was SO beautiful in presentation, but just disappointing in flavor. In my husbands words, “everything was very kawaii, but not very umai” ☹️

We stopped by for some brunch today and sat on the patio. When we were seated , there was two other tables, one who was paying their check and left and the other was a group of 5 , seated right after us . We ordered in the next 5 mins , all of it , drinks, app and Entree , we were starving . My friend ordered coffee , i got boba tea and my husband got a cocktail. We also ordered a salmon roll, karage bao , Ton Katsu and a Poke bowl. The non alcoholic drinks came in like 10 mins as well as the sushi roll. 20 mins passed and my husband’s drink was nowhere to be seen . We had to tell the host about the drink and we finally got it . Whatever , things happen. We were fine. . By then , 3 other tables got seated. We got out entrees , 58 mins after we were seated. i know cause i checked the time every 5 mins .i understand that things get backed up sometimes but every single table seated after us had their food at least 15 mins before ours and they ordered 30 ish mins after we did . Our table didnt even have water , we had to ask 3 times before we got some . It was infuriating. The food was okay. Everything had something wrong with it , the ton katsu sauce was very “ketchupy” , the pole bowl had too much mayonnaise . Worst service and extremely sub par food for that price .

Firstly, the park is absolutely a sight to see! Very breathtaking and a one of a kind view. However, the restaurant was a bad experience. We told the waitress it was our first time visiting and wanted recommendations. She was polite but gave no courtesy as far as the amount of food given. The prices didn't line up with the amount of food. Its $15 for 3 spring rolls!!! The drinks like the sake cocktail and latte were bland. I highly suggest to eat prior or bring your own food and beverages. Save yourself the disappointment and be there for the views.

The food is fine but it takes so long like 45 minutes to an hour at that time they aren’t busy

Food presentation, beautiful, nice place to sit when the weather is nice outside. However, if you like light seasoned food and not in a rush, stop here. Service is, in my opinion, extremely slow. We had to ask to sit down because the front guy did not or would not acknowledge us. After that, the waitress took forever for anything. With a total of 3 tables, I feel like it shouldn't have been such a struggle. On top of that, all of our food came to us cold and not a lot of flavor to it, soo disappointing. So with that I say this place is a 2.5. The best part was sitting outside enjoying the weather.

J
Judy J.

The food looked so good but everything came out lukewarm. The boba in my drink was hard and chewy as others reported. The mango sticky rice dessert was ruined by the tajin. Maybe they put too much but I couldn't eat the mangos which I really wanted. Later that day, I got really sick and it lasted 3 days. That was the only thing I ate that day. If you decide to eat here, make sure you food is made fresh and is hot.

It was raining and the park was pretty empty. As we were trying to use their mobile order process 4 different servers informed us the tables were only for people ordering food. There were 2 other tables there and no one approached them. After the 4th person repeated it to us, we removed the food from our order and left. They were so rude. Stay away.

Not real bubble tea! There's weird things floating around from the bubbles. Definitely old. Not worth the price! The food looks old, produce is definitely past its date. They make you wear a mask even though I am fully vaccinated. The cheesecake it very thin and overpriced. Looks like boxed nobake jello cheesecake.

⚠️!!! ⚠️ Not the Same ⚠️ !!! ⚠️ The Jingu House used to be a traditional Japanese Restaurant, that served delicious loose leaf teas, and refreshing herbal ice teas. They used to have Bento Boxes, and were an absolutely enjoyable lunch. I have no idea what happened; but whatever is here now is a horrible coffee place with prepackaged sandwiches. Even worse, they added fake plastic bamboo on the patio, when the garden it's self is full of real bamboo. Whoever approved this sale made a terrible terrible mistake.

The restaurant was not ready to open upon arrival. The waitress never asked if I wanted a drink before asking my food order. I asked for my two drinks to be served one at a time. She brought both out at once. All dishes were severely lacking in flavor. The main course was two very small scallops that were rubbery and had no sear on them. The accompanying noodles were very overdone, soggy even. The vent was dripping on the couple behind me. I chose to dine alone, and twice was asked if it was “just” me. I dine alone often and have found most places are tactful to not word it that way as it assumes I alone am lacking. Most restaurants will simply ask if others are dining. However I don’t know why they asked at all because I had made a reservation prior. For $75 this was a tremendous let down. Leaps and bounds from authentic. Staff was clearly inexperienced in fine dining. For $75 I feel the chopsticks should at least not be disposable wooden ones. An appropriate value of what I ate was maybe $25 not including beverages. All in all, cannot recommend even a little.

Tea was good but don't bother with the binto boxes. Salad was good, sushi fell apart before i could even pick it up, chicken and beef entrees both taste like they were poured out of a can. Noodles side was sitting in a half inch of water. Won't eat here again.

B
Brandon Oddo

Not only is there nothing special about their bland noodle bowls (soup, in case you were expecting something else) or ordinary tea that happened to have boba in it, the items are overpriced and the staff were rude about using the restrooms -- making us wait unnecessarily long time in line only to discover that several spaces were available downstairs. The gardens themselves are amazing, just be sure to avoid this tourist trap.

Went there today 10/22 with my husband. We ordered two sushi rolls; California and spicy shrimp roll. Both were far from good. The shrimp roll we sent back looked like it was not made fresh and had been sitting there for a while. We both tasted a piece of the shrimp roll and the rice and roll were very stiff. When my husband sent it back I heard the cashier ask the lady in the kitchen “did you make this yesterday or today?” And I didn’t hear a reply. Five minutes later my husband and I went to the cashier and asked for a refund on our one roll we sent back, she said she would not be giving us a refund but the chef is making us a fresh shrimp roll now. My husband wasn’t interested in eating their anymore and we let them know we wouldn’t be eating the new roll. She said there’s nothing she can do. We left in peace and told them they didn’t need to worry about making us a new roll because we were already so dissatisfied with the California roll. I would not return to eat here.

5/10/24 I want to preface this review with: The manager did take my item off of the receipt and give us free desert which was the right thing to and I do appreciate. She also apologized and handled it about the best she could and I do acknowledge that. I really didn’t want to write this review as I was excited to go here and eat lunch. However, the service here was awful. We ordered our food around 1. I asked the waitress if I could have the kimchi fries as my main meal and she said that was fine. We waited around 30 minutes to get the food and both of my friends got their food at that point. I waited several more minutes to see if mine was going to come out and then at that point I figured they forgot about me. I looked around for the waitress and I could not find her. I finally see her pass and wave her down and explain that I haven’t received my food yet. She goes in the back and comes back and says “They are putting it in now”. So I wait then for at least 20-30 more minutes and by then everyone at my table had finished their food. The server passed by several more times without any acknowledgement. The sever at the section next to mine felt bad and asked if we were doing okay. I had more interaction and acknowledgement from him than I ever had from the server working my section. I can understand if you are busy or if the kitchen is backed up but all I wanted was some sort of acknowledgement or for someone to explain to me what was even going on. It takes less than a minute in the several times she passed us to do that. The situation was embarrassing to have to deal with as we just wanted to have a nice lunch with family out of town. I sat there for at least an hour or more without any food even after I had to talk to the server in the other section. I have never had to call for a manager when eating at a restaurant and I usually can deal with bad service and shrug it off but this was next level. I think that most other people would have made a bigger deal about it than I did.

The waitress was very rude, we were waiting for our order and she told us that we can't sit there if we are not going to order food at the next door but she said leave here in a very rude way, I felt bad because I was with my daughter and we were waiting for a long time for drinks, I hope they put a sign where they specify that you can't sit there only for those who buy food because we had no idea and that's why we sat down because it is the same restaurant 😔 Sometimes the way you ask or say things is important to people, especially if it's a tourist area, but she said it very rudely.

P
Pamela McCray-Mota

I recommended this establishment for its scenic ambiance to meet a friend visiting from out of town. Regrettably, our experience was marred by substandard demeaning service. Our table was consistently overlooked, resulting in a prolonged wait for service and delayed departure, causing me to be more than 30 minutes late returning to work. I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment, particularly if you are of African American or prioritize quality service.

C
Courtney Slaughter

The wait to be helped was extremely long (there were very few customers and many staff members). The food was ok but the pork buns were somewhat stale. We didn't complain but wanted to pay and it took 15 minutes to flag someone down to pay. Needless to say, we were charged twice for the food. The place just isn't professionally run.

J
Joanna Lyons

The servers were rude and clearly have no experience with either coffee or tea. The bubble tea is NOT traditional bubble tea. It is plain iced tea with tapioca balls added. The coffee is not fresh. I paid $12 plus tip for two small beverages that I could have made better at home. And again, the two people behind the counter were very rude. Also, it’s appalling to me that they will not share a WiFi password with paying customers. I don’t typically leave reviews unless I’ve heard a particularly abysmal experience. (The gardens, however, are beautiful.)

L
L Yvette

I was expecting so much more from this place. Went with my daughter and ordered the Bubble tea, which was not even close to what I have tasted at other restaurants. Also, their hospitality department needs major improvements. Not sure if they know how to be kind and polite to visitors and patrons. I will not be going back to the restaurant but the Japanese tea garden was so beautiful. I will take my own lunch next time to avoid the rude treatment by the ladies inside.

Really upset. Requested a water for me and my mother. We only got one. Our food was brought out and given to the wrong table. The waiter with the pont tilail in a bun grabbed the food from the other table and gave it to us. I asked him if he really just brought us food from the other table, he shrugged his shoulders and said they didn't touch it so it'll be ok.

Came To Take Photos At The Japanese Garden For My Sister Prom. Came 15minute Before 5pm And Was Told By A Really Rude Lady With No Customers Service Skills That We Cant Go To The Garden Bc It Closed At 5pm and When We Proceeded To Tell Her It’s Not 5pm Yet She Rudely Said They Closed For An Event. We Politely Asked If We Could Take One Photo Taking less Than 5 Minutes. No Where On Google Was An Event Mentioned. We Drove 40 Minutes Just To Be Turned Away Before The Japanese Garden Was Actually Closed. I Would Not Come Eat Here Solely Based On How I Was Treated For Not Being Apart Of The Event

Thai tea is basically orange colored water, same with the matcha. Doesn’t help when there is a whole layer of ice water on top too. The boba is close to car tire texture and is also tasteless. The tofu kind of stinks on the inside and is super firm. Only thing that tasted good was the pickled cucumber and the cheesecake was slightly good. Chicken katsu was ok. At least they had giant fans beaming the seating area.

Food was the worst I've had in a long time. The ramen was disgusting. I've had better testing ramen from a 50 cent bag. The seasoning tasted like Tabasco and ketchup. Food came out cold. My Boba tea tasted like strawberry milk. The surrounding environment is really beautiful but skip this restaurant at all costs.
