It has been 5 years since my last visit. I brought 3 coworkers along for their first time. We all loved the food. Fresh, hot, and great tasting! You can't go wrong with the NANDO!

They close at 2pm, they were full, we got on a list, and so did a few others. We were visiting from put of town, and could have eaten anywhere, but wanted to eat here. They sat all of us that was waiting around 1:45. They were very friendly, efficient, and fantastic food. When they say super taco they mean it. We will be back on next visit

I have been eating here for over 40 years. Grandparents would bring me here as a kid. Just came back again this week, and the food is still amazing. I'll be back again soon! Keep up the good family tradition!

I wish the picture did this any justice. The super taco us HUGE. I got the picadillo and added jalapeño and cheese. Food came out quickly even though they were incredibly busy. Price was great for the large portion that I couldn't finish! Make sure to bring cash! They no longer accept cards but do have an ATM on site.

Alejandra was our waitress and her service was amazing. Our cups were never empty and she was always around to make sure we weren’t missing anything. Food was delicious. If you’re from out-of-town, swing by and get you a monster burrito. One burrito can easily feed two people. We found our breakfast spot in SA.

Rolando's Super Taco is wonderful! It's a true authentic gem! Where we come from "authentic" Mexican food is bland but this is far from it and the portion sizes are huge! I had the puffy chicken taco with rice and beans. The shell is like a corn based funnel cake and has the perfect amount of crispness mixed with a medium thickness. So good! The meat is seasoned well and the flavor of my dish and my husband's dish is just fabulous!!! A native San Antonian recommend this place to us and he also recommended that we dont come to this area at night. Well, I'd come here at night if it were my only option to eat at Rolando's Super Tacos!

Had my first ever gigantic super taco out Rolando's Super Tacos and I'll say that I was impressed. Truthfully, I thought it was more of a gimmick and wasn't expecting much. I was totally wrong, actually. The taco was enormous, but not only that, the carne guisada with cheese was excellent. I wasn't expecting that. The chorizo and egg was also very tasty. For the price and quality, it's hard to pass up. Recommended!

I have driven by this place several times and always seem to be after they are closed. So today I finally got there in time!!! The parking and driveway situation needs some attention. I circled the block 3 times waiting for the cars blocking the only entrance to the driveway to move. Once inside I was greeted warmly. I took a table towards the back. I ordered enchiladas and a super supreme taco. As it turns out their portions are huge!!!!!! The super tortillas are just that SUPER!!! And huge!! The carne guisada was good. The enchiladas were good as well. Really only two things to say, chips were stale and the salsa was slightly warm and watery. It was good, but not what I expected. I will definitely be back!!! However will order more appropriately next time!

The super tacos are amazing! I used a measuring tape to prove they are a foot long. See Pic! I had the bacon egg bean and cheese taco. I would recommend getting the food to go. The entrance can get crowded. The staff and the service are great. Doordash delivers if needed.

This place was very good. They have these huge tacos. 2 people can share just one. The small ones were perfect sizes for us. We had the Carne guisada taco that came with rice, beans, Lettuce, tomatoes and Avocados slices and a beef fajita taco which was similar to a street taco just in a flour tortilla. Both were very good. I highly recommend this place.

Tell me why this place has the best tortillas in town. I've been coming to Rolandos for years and I love their food. Consistently good for years and years. I always order the ranchero deluxe plate and it never fails to to be amazing. The way they slice their breakfast potatoes, they're almost like chips but better. Bacon always delivers. Coffee is always hot and tasty. If you're ever in San Antonio, you have to try this iconic place. You have to try a super taco. You'll be full the whole day!

July 3, 2025 Decided to give Rolando's Super tacos, another another try. Today is Thursday, July 3, 2025. We entered and were quickly seated and greeted. The staff was very polite, courteous and professional. Our server was Ruben, who took real good care of us. I asked Ruben about their hours first off and explained that I was asking because the last time I showed up, on a Wednesday, they were closed. However, there was nothing to indicate that they were NOT open that day. There was an open sign in the window, Google Maps showed Open on Wednesdays. Ruben, went to check Google and came back and said the Google hours were incorrect. He did let me know that they are CLOSED on Wednesday's. I've suggested a Google edit to their hours as of today. Ruben took our orders and the order came within, I'll say 10 minutes. I ordered a SMALL bean and egg taco. My guest ordered a Super taco, and they made it special, which was fajita and egg. The tacos were really good, and I requested their hottest hot sauce. It has a little kick, but nothing like my wife's hot sauce. Also, just know the sizes of the tacos are as her name goes a little bit bigger than regular tacos and other restaurants. The small taco is probably 8-10 inches in size, folded. The large the Super taco is probably at 12-14 inches, inches in size, folded. Overall, pleasant experience and looking forward to returning and trying lunch. Other comments: The food is reasonably priced. The bathrooms are very clean. The parking, at least on this day and at the time of our visit, was plentiful. See my photos, and I hope your experience is good or better than mine. May 5/28/25 (Wednesday) Went by Rolando's Super Tacos #1 today (Wednesday, 5/28) around 9am/CT looking for some breakfast tacos. I have not been to Rolando's in several years, and did notice they were recently open during a drive by on Saturday, and some recent reviews show they were open. Anyway, according to Google and Google Maps they were supposed to be open, but they were NOT, and there was no reason for being closed posted on the front door or window. Thus, gave 1 star. BTW, about 9:30am I decided to check and see if they had Facebook page, and they did. It showed they were closed, but again with no reason noted.

We had a great experience. The food was delicious and the tacos were huge. The only reason for the 4 stars was because I ordered a chicken fajita and was brought a steak fajita. I could have said something but my anxiety wouldn’t let me. The taco was still good. My husband’s carne guisada taco was delicious and so was his bean and cheese and his picodillo taco. Over all still delicious and would eat here again.

So there's some chicken shack in New Braunfels *cough* Los Gallos *cough* that claims to have super tacos. They're cute & all and have a few selections but Rolando's is the real deal with a dizzying array of combination tacos that makes it difficult to choose. One super taco is all you need.

Quality of the food was great! Restaurant was clean! Server was kind. They reallly stuff the tacos. I had a carne guisada with cheese "super taco" and i wish i would have made it a regular just due to the mess of having to bite into the huge thing. 😶 "Super Tacos" are about 7 bucks each.

We tried 4 tacos total… 1 super (the nando) and 3 “small” which are large tacos also but not very full. We ordered one corn tortilla and it was delicious, definitely my favorite and I will order a corn tortilla next time. The red salsa is served warm and it’s delicious, my favorite salsa ever!

First time here and I have to say I was impressed me and my dad both ordered tacos I ordered a big taco and my dad ordered the regular taco and when they came out my dads taco was so big we thought that that was the big taco and they messed up our order, but then they brought out my taco and it was ginormous and then we realized that the regular taco is huge but the big taco is ginormous. The taco was delicious. couldn’t finish it, but I would highly recommend trying it. It’s a cool experience. overall.

I opted for the cheese enchiladas this visit. I have been here before (usually to take visitors from out of town to have a huge “Super” taco. The huge tortillas are a real novelty and really taste great. I didn’t really care for the enchiladas. Couldn’t see them as they were covered with cheese and a guisada gravy that just didn’t have a Mexican taste. We were served three warm (temperature) sauces. All were too watery and none were “hot” enough. Our server was great and keep our glasses filled and folks at the front cashier were friendly as well. Next time will stick to more traditional tacos and skip the enchiladas.

Came here for the first time and it was okay. The Carne Guisada was chewy and had lots of fat in it, left half behind. My boys liked the bacon and egg tacos. The bean and cheese was good too. The salsas were tasty. Sweet tea was super sweet but good. We sat down quick. They took our order and brought the food back in 15 mins total. The waitresses were really nice and kept checking on us. It’s a small place so we got there early to avoid the crowd. We paid $26.xx for 6 tacos. We won’t come back. It’s not a bad place we just won’t drive the 25/30 mins again and the prices were too high for me.

Disappointed w the slow service and eggs. I ordered egg scrambled soft and not cut into small pieces. So i Sent back and got the same eggs? They don't know how to scramble eggs in a bowel and then cook. Eggs tasted good but were in small pieces.

My daughter enjoyed the super bean and cheese Taco. The Tortillas are soft and really tasty and the coffee was ok. I didn't care for the chilaquiles they were soggy and just tasted like oil to me and the bacon wasn't very good either. Note: The establishment is loved by locals, so something must keep them coming aside from the novelty of serving huge tacos. This review is just my opinion based on what I tried it's not somewhere I would visit again, but I'm glad I tried it.

Ok, the chalupa tortilla was from an el paso package not fried. But otherwise ok. The carne carne guisada was salty but ok in taste. The rest of my review on the enchiladas you gotta watch on my tiktok. Just my opinion/review tiltok @ Enjay Toro , yes I would eat there again.

Parking is tight.especially on their busy days and weekends.so expect a long wait.we opted to get there the following morning.and was nearly empty.the place has an strong sewer smell.and as I went to the men's room.i saw the water on the floor coming from the toilet.i thought to leave because where there is a water leak.attracts unwanted critters.i told my sister to walk around and spray parfume.and that helped alot.the service was superb.always on time.food arrive together.not seperated.the chips and salsa was tasty.crunchy and fresh.i wanted that famous super taco and nothing would deter me.our food arrived so fresh and hot.and the giant Carne guisada taco was the size of the plate.my sister had papa's ranchero .and beans.the tortillas were fresh .soft and wonderful tasting.the taco had huge chunks of beef.this is not your regular chain fast food taco.this was loaded with beef.tender.hot.fall apart.you don't need your dentures tender. Took my family today around lunchtime. Parking lot needs some work.There was a bit of a wait. I don't recommend for people with a wheel chairs, the place is small and had stairs. I didn't see any ramps. Chips and salsa were good. We had the super tacos. I had carne guesada, gravy was good but the meat was very very tough. We aslo order the enchiladas plate. But they didn't like it. Said it was too salty. Service was friendly, but we probably won't be going back.

This was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. We got there after 11 am and had a 25 minute wait, no problem. Got our table at 11:45 am order right a way and waited and waited had 2 basket of chips and nothing . We finally got our food after everyone after us got there food and mind was cold I sent it back they put it in the warmer but only the top was warm. I asked her to make me a new plate and by the time it got back to me everyone one at my table was done. 11:45 am till 1:00 pm when I got my food I could not even eat because everyone at my table was finished. The food was extremely hot that you could not eat it! The carne quisada was super tough and flavor was really off! I tried to share my experience with the management team and all they did was argue back. The experience was extremely terrible!

Been coming out for years every Sunday after church. Never encounter a disrespectful host in a bright neon yellow shirt very rude very angry went across the street to have our Sunday brunch.

By far the worst taco I’ve ever tasted. It was bacon, potato, eggs with cheese and tasted awful and there were eggshells.

The carne guisada was very chewy and inedible. The chicken "fajita" was also inedible and appears to have been boiled and dried out with no seasoning. I haven't been here since the pandemic hit, but it is NOWHERE near the same.

Very disappointed i places an order through uber eats and when i opened my tacos this os how it looked hardly any food inside the tortilla on all my tacos. Was not worth the money i spent will not be ordering from this place ever again and they also forgot to give me one of tacos

Ordered a Beef Fajita Taco (lettuce, pico, guacamole & rice)- and a Chicken Fajita Super Taco; the beef was super dry and undesirable, and the chicken had no flavor/taste. Saw this restaurant advertise on Facebook- we were duped!

they lied about the type of meat and made the carne spicy instead of it being steak so u could have a heart attack their potatoes were fake potatoe chips id siggest u get a health inspectorand they didnt give us a refund.

The family entered to business to check on the wait time and was met by a very rude woman in a neon yellow shirt. The atmosphere changed dramatically as she pushed the family out of the building. It was a very upsetting experience as we had our younger cousin visiting us. Very disappointed while trying to show a childhood favorite restaurant.

I've been doordashing from this place for years. And today is the first day I found a roach in my food. I called to speak with somebody about this. They just answered and left me with no one to talk to. I just don't want for this to happen to anybody else. This place used to be good. Now I just don't know anymore. Hopefully someone can do something about this. Because this is very disgusting.

The food is great but that little old lady with the blond hair is so rude. Like someone give her a vacation she looks and acts super stressed and she has an attitude issue. You see people jammed pack in the disgusting entrance/ register then still raises her voice shout commands and made feel dumb for asking to please check if my order was ready for pick up. She looks at me and say im getting there I’m going “ super annoyed that I even spoke to her while walking 5 ft to the counter.

Absolutely worst experience. I thought I was ordering from Rolandos Super Tacos off Shasta on DoorDash. However, apparently, I got this place. That would have been fine if any part of my $25.xx order would have been right. First, I didn't receive one of the 3 tacos I ordered, which was a simple potato and egg taco. Second, (1) of the Mari tacos didn't even come with bacon or cheese (let me address that there actually was one sliver of shredded cheese stuck to the super tortilla and one or two shredded pieces on a potato or two), (1) of the Mari tacos did have all four ingredients but literally maybe 2 tbsp of beans, hardly any cheese and some nasty slices potatoes. I'm a bean fanatic so I would've still been happy with their beans had they given more than the two tiniest spoons of them in my extremely large Tortilla. I absolutely love the real Rolandos Super Taco off Shasta but this has to be some kind of knock off that doesn't care about their customers. $25.xx spent just to not receive anything I asked for accurately. One thing I will say is they weren't skimpy on the nasty sliced fried potatoes. I'm usually not this negative about orders as I worked in food service too and understand the struggles they face, but to not even give the customer ingredients they asked for is ridiculous. Positives: The DoorDash "Dasher" was very polite, customer service oriented and delivered right on time. So, no complaints there. Other: I did contact doordash and after one very rude agent, I got a second willing to refund half the price of the order but not the entire total which doesn't make sense to me. In my business if there's a legitimate concern that is supported by evidence, I have provided full refunds. The first agent refused to even allow me to send my photos of my food to prove what I was saying, so I sent them anyway and he disconnected our chat. All in all worse experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Hopefully someone reads this that is in management and takes a moment to reach out, if so, I will update my comment and provide more positive details (I would hope). Update: As promised, if management responded, I would update my comment. As you can see, management did respond with "Sorry to hear." What an absolute waste of time. Proper managerial practices would be assess the situation, speak with the customer directly and attempt to rectify the situation. It doesn't always mean bending over backward to fix the problem, it means to provide better customer service. You see an obvious issue, you apologize for any inconvenience and attempt to remedy the situation. Saying "sorry to hear" does absolutely nothing. If it were possible, I'd revise my comment and review to give Zero stars after that nonsense. Sadly, there are businesses that could care less if a patron ever returned. This is obviously one of those establishments. This update is as of 3 August 2024.

This morning, I visited your establishment and ordered three tacos—not a large order by any means. My order was taken by a woman named Mari, who identified herself as the owner after I inquired about her name due to her rude customer service. When I asked for the price of one taco, she directed me to the menu in a condescending manner. It's important for anyone in a leadership position to leave personal problems at home and treat customers with respect. I noticed she even whispered to another server to bring me my tacos, which struck me as unprofessional for an owner. Every customer deserves a warm and respectful greeting, regardless of the situation. I couldn't help but feel that she would insist even a blind customer read the menu, rather than take the time to help. I hope Mari understands the potential impact of her attitude on your business. I sincerely wish that future customers do not have to endure the same experience I did. HOPE this helps everyone on making there decisions on a place to grab a taco. My bean and cheese taco had mold on it the tortilla.

We waited over 20 minutes for just two tacos while dining in. Everyone else around us got their food, even tables that arrived after us, but my wife and I were still waiting. By the time my food finally arrived, my taco was soggy, and I later realized they forgot the beans on my “giant taco.” I was really upset, but my wife kept telling me to let it go. When I mentioned it to the staff, all they did was apologize and remove it from the bill. The $15 taco was disappointing. It tasted more like an egg and cheese taco. The “sausage” tasted like raw hot dogs, and the cheese was like processed Kraft cheese. Overall, a horrible experience. I honestly don’t understand what others see in this place. To make things worse, when I checked the receipt, I noticed they added an extra $2 charge for something we didn’t order. I was furious. We spent $40 for two big tacos, and it was absolutely not worth it. Terrible service, terrible food. Never going back! Don’t waste your time or money here.

Do better!!!!! Went in today as a family to try this iconic place and was disappointed with a very rude and disrespectful blonde lady named maria. A “sorry to hear” response from the owners is unacceptable. Well sorry to you but am not giving you our hard working money. Will never be coming back. She needs to learn customer service and needs to learn how to treat people with respect. I don’t care what position you hold it does not give you a right to push people around. I can only imagine how you treat other employees.

I have lived in this neighborhood for seven months. I have eaten at Rolando's religiously every week. Sometimes I miss one. But most every week at least once. On Tuesday, I tried ordering a regular taco with cheese and guacamole. To my shock it was only $8! It was awesome! And a great price. I decided I am gonna order that way from now on! Today I went in and ordered the super taco, for $2 more, made with the same toppings. But then added lettuce and tomato. TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS!!!!! Seriously! The argument that ensued was that they legit chaged $14 for lettuce and tomato! How is that gouging OK in any world? The rude, arrogant, bad bleach-highlights lady that possibly owns the place is intolerable! UNGRATEFUL and disrespectful of the customers that built this place. NEVER AGAIN! Absolutely never again.
