Opinions de Yippon Ramen San Antonio
I was thoroughly impressed with everything! The prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the Tan Tan Ramen—it has the perfect kick without being overwhelming. The Fried Chicken Ramen was also a standout; the broth (the true soul of any ramen) was rich and flavorful. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is great, and we had attentive, friendly service. At the end, we were offered free ice cream! We spent about $80 tip included and you can see from the pics all the food/drinks we had. If you’re looking for affordable, high-quality ramen, this is the spot.
Absolutely delicious & worth it. Restaurant was clean. We went around 4pm & it wasnt busy at all. Our food came with in 10 minutes. Our server was friendly & made the visit better than it already was. Definitely recommend.
Great music, great service, and great food! We got free ice cream and lollipops after our meal! This was just overall a great experience. The portions are perfect. I got 2 sushi rolls, ramen and fruit tea.
Great food and the stuff is very friendly. I had the black garlic ramen and my wife had the kimchi beef ramen.
100/10 I highly recommend, overall had a great experience! Ive been here a few times and they never disappoint 😊
Omg the best sushi n ramen in a very long time. Ryan was an amazing sever . I will deff be back with more friends n family. Love this place. My new spot and it’s so close to my house. It’s so clean n beautiful and great prices
First time. Quiet and clean. I must say the staff was attentive. For those of us that really enjoy eating wasabi and pickled ginger the portion is simply very little. I must admit my mind set was (I want appetizer for my meal) I know appetizer presentation is a big deal but I felt cheated on the egg rolls- portion 2 egg rolls sliced diagonally to equal out or appear to be 4. The calamari was very tasty I was very impressed. And the tamura was excellent. We will return and I will order differently and add to my review 😁 I do recommend this restaurant 😉😋
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Impeccable Experience at Yippon Ramen – Austin Hwy, San Antonio My latest visit to Yippon Ramen was nothing short of impeccable. Even though we had to wait to be seated, it couldn’t have been more than 15 seconds — just enough time to take in the cozy, inviting atmosphere before being welcomed to our table. Our waiter was exceptional from start to finish. He was attentive in all the ways that matter: refilling our waters without us having to ask, clearing used dishes and napkins promptly, and even replacing them with fresh ones so we could enjoy our meal comfortably. That level of care is rare, and it made the experience feel exceptional. My husband ordered the kimchi beef ramen, and I went with the chicken yakisoba. We also shared the beef egg roll appetizer — my absolute favorite! Everything was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. When I asked for a to‑go container for my leftovers, our waiter went above and beyond by packing it up for me himself. To top it all off, he surprised us with complimentary ice cream cups and Dum Dum lollipops. It was such a thoughtful touch and left us smiling as we wrapped up our meal. The environment was warm and welcoming, with décor that beautifully highlights Japanese culture and music that completes the experience. Yippon Ramen continues to impress in every category — food, service, and atmosphere. Five stars all the way.
Server was amazing! Very kind and attentive. Food was very delicious. Been to many restaurants in San Antonio, and truly struggled to find any that leave you wanting to come back for more. This restaurant delivered greatness from cleanliness to delicious cuisine. Thank you Yippon Ramen! See you soon.
This is my wife's new favorite for ramen. She requested Yippon Ramen as our anniversary dinner. Quiet atmosphere. Service is fast but not too fast. Food is obviously cooked to order. The miso soup is always served at a perfect temperature. The staff appears dedicated and they are hard working.
Tried to find a quick ramen spot and this place popped up, so we took a chance on it. Walked in & the atmosphere was nice and the place was packed (but not overwhelming). The decor and art on the walls look nice & they had a lovely Christmas tree up as soon as you walk in. We sat in a booth with plenty of space. Our waitress was very attentive, nice, and helpful. Even for my daughter’s ramen, she suggested the ingredients on the side so my daughter could add what she liked. I got the Tan Tan Ramen & my bf got the Spicy Miso, while my daughter ordered the Karaage Ramen. All of it was hot and flavorful and with large amounts. We also got free ice cream after our meals. We most definitely will be returning.
Located on the corner of a strip mall. Upon walking in, I was greeted with big smiles and very attentive staff. I ordered green tea and Tan Tan Ramen. Spicy and robustly delicious. Pork is crumbled. If I have any critique, it would be that I wished that the pork was sliced instead of crumbled. Noodles were fresh and perfect. Green tea was the real deal. Earthy and flavorful. I'd go back here in a heartbeat! They offered a free ice cream at the end. Nice touch!
I had the Kimchi Beef Ramen. My wife had the Chicken Yakisoba, which is basically noodles without soup. They had a nice selection of Boba Tea. We had Taro and Milk Tea. The food was amazing. Great portion sizes. I ended up taking the rest of the soup home. The Japanese style kimchi soup is like Miso with the thickness of it. They put shells, egg, seaweed, thick noodles, beef, and assorted herbs and spices. It had a light kimchi flavor to it. I was more than satisfied. The service was top-notch. The waiter was kind, tentative, and professional. The atmosphere was great. The music was smooth and chill. The decor is modern Japanese style with warm colors and wood We will definitely be returning.
The service here was great and I love that they give complimentary ice cream at the end of your meal! I got the 5 pieces of sushi and black garlic ramen. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The ramen was hearty and had great flavor as well. The bowl of ramen was only $13, which I thought was a steal. The pork in the ramen could have been more tender and flavorful, but it was still good. All in all, I would come back here for sure. It’s a cute restaurant that isn’t huge but also not cramped. We got seated immediately during dinner time and had a great dinner before heading to HEB next door.
Today might just be the last time I’m ordering from here. I’ve been eating here since it opened and the service, the atmosphere and the food are just amazing. But tonight’s experience broke my heart. I usually order online and then pick it up after working a 12hr shift. Today, when I went to pick up my food, they were busy so I stood behind their sign waiting to be serviced. A white lady and her daughter walked in and a young white man also walked in soon after. The white lady moved behind me to form a line. She probably walked in 5 minutes after I did and we were all just waiting to be serviced. Unbelievably, the server walked towards us, looked at me, and then went and asked the white lady how he can help her. I was so shocked and quite disappointed. The white lady was even surprised, she told him I was here first, which we thought was obvious since I was standing in the first line. I’m still trying to process what made him decide to skip over me to assist this lady first before even acknowledging I was there. It made me feel so invisible and clearly my service is not needed. I never leave reviews, but I just couldn’t let this pass without saying something. This experience was very heartbreaking for me.
Not sure why this place is rated so high...I was craving Ramen and looked up this place and it had good reviews. Decided to give it a try. Service was great, friendly staff, place was clean, great atmosphere. I ordered Ramen and sushi. The sushi seemed like it was on a diet! It was sooo skinny!! I expected a thicker roll not some anorexic thing, the size of my pinky, maybe less. Then the ramen...oh my word. Flavorless. It was missing that delicious brothy Ramen taste. Tasted like water...aka nothing. Egg for sure was marinated, in soap because that's what it tasted like. I was very disappointed in this restaurant after seeing all the high reviews for the food to be bland and mediocre. On the menu, it had shredded fungus...why not put mushroom where it sounds more appealing than fungus. Yeah, most def not returning
I am surprised by how many good reviews this place has. This is some of the worst tasting ramen I have had recently in SATX. I frequent Bakuden and have had Jinya and Wild Golgi. All 3 are far ahead of this place in taste of their ramen. Ingredients used did not seem fresh. The noodle texture was mushy. Broth was not very flavorful albeit pretty spicy for the medium spice. The pork was barely edible as it was bland and not tender. The egg even had an off /sour taste. I did not dine in so I cannot review that experience but the workers seemed very pleasant. The food was well packaged for pick up. The vibe inside however was not as swanky as the other 3 places listed above. It is more of a mom and pop tucked next to the grocery store. I do also love my mom and POp shops espwcially if the food quality is good. I don’t think this is the place for me. I can’t see myself coming back.
I used to LOVE this place and 9 out of 10 times it was absolutely AMAZING. The service is superb, the sushi is delicious and the ramen is so good. Unfortunately this past weekend I had the spicy beef kimchi ramen (no kimchi lol I know) and I got food poisoning. I know I got it from here because my family ate chick-Fil-A and I just haaaad to be different so I got ramen, in all fairness, if I put extra calories in my body it has to be something I really want and I really loved this place. Well needless to say, they were all fine that night, but at about 4 am, technically the next morning, it all started for me. Almost 36 hours of misery!!!!! The restaurant must've used old meat or maybe cross contamination with sushi, idk, but man I will never, ever go back. No food is worth the pain of food poisoning. I had to call into work for a few hours Monday morning from food I consumed Saturday night. Again, I have gone multiple times and it it typically AMAZING, it's rare I get food poisoning so I thought I'd share so the staff does better and ensures it doesn't happen again. It's been real Yippon, I definitely enjoyed my past experiences, previous to this last one. Might still go back for sushi bc I'm stubborn and like to give people the benefit of the doubt, buuuuuut probably not! Hope this doesn't happen to others!!!!!
