Great casual bagel shop.
My favorite House of Bagels. They also carry Bialys on weekends, and occasionally during the week. Try a Bialy, if you've never had one. You won't be disappointed.
Best bagels in the bay, make sure you call ahead to order. I seriously haven't noticed a change in quality in 10 years, it's still so good.
We were on a roadtrip and stopped for a quick breakfast. The bagels were super soft and fresh. I wish we lived closer because I would definitely be a regular customer.
Great bagels. Definitely more authentic than chains. The bagels are soft with just the right amount of firmness on the crust. They have lots of variety of bagels and cream cheese. I'd love to see cream cheese bars, but that's it. Also, the staff is always happy and keep things moving.
Visiting San Carlos for a couple of weeks visiting family. Went to Starbucks and saw House of bagels in San Carlos. My wife and I decided to walk in and try it. Coming from New York New Jersey area I’m always skeptical of bagel places. This place did not disappoint. Bagels are very tasty just the right amount of cream cheese and the staff is very friendly and quick to get your order out. I will definitely be going back throughout my stay.
Great local bagel house. You can find a great variety of bagels and ingredients for a reasonable price. It is quite a ritual around San Carlos, people stop by in the morning to get their bagel. Service is quick, but you might find a little queue at the entrance, it should not take you longer than 10/15min max I would say. Worth it to try!
Delicious bagels and a wide variety of combinations to choose from. Staff is very friendly, the place is very clean, and they have a quick turn around. You don’t have to wait longer than 3-5 minutes for your order. We’re visiting the area on vacation and I’ll be sad to leave these bagels, we’ve come multiple days in a row! 🥯
This place is amazing! Sandwiches are always quality, bagels are delicious, and staff is friendly and quick. Infinitely prefer it over chains like Noah's. Definitely try it for yourself! (Turkey avocado is my fav :P)
Even when the line is out the door, the service is great! They work fast and efficiently. The bagel are warm, they have a variety of flavors, and they have multiple smear flavors too. I usually order a few customized orders and they never get it wrong. The only place I go to get bagels!
I ordered White Fish on a Bagel. We eat kosher.
Bagel lox is really good! I have high bagel standards and of the bagel shops on the peninsula these are dense, chewy and fresh.
Pretty good bagels made the right way. They have a wide selection of spreads and also good breakfast sandwiches. The prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for. Make sure to come early in the day before they run out of the good ones. The place itself is a little cramped but they have a few indoor and outdoor tables if you want to eat there
Just the best bagels in this area. All I got was a half dozen warm fresh bagels and a container of whipped cream cheese. Delicious.
Best bagel place in mid peninsula region if not all of South Bay. Great friendly owners. Try a just off the oven warm super fresh bagel with butter. Simply divine. Have been going here for over 3 years now.
Wow, hadn't been to a HoB in years. Right next to a Starbucks, the garlic was fresh and tasty, the cream cheese was smooth and flavorful, and the french roast robust. To top it off, it was quick and reasonably priced. Glad I walked past SBUX.
Recently came here and order 60+ bagels. Though it was a lot, they handled it really well. Not to mention their bagels are the best it won, freshly made in the bag every morning. If you’ve never been, definite stop by and get a bagel or two.
What a great Bagel Shop. Fast, Fresh, and courteous are the 3 words I would use to describe. My only critiques would be I don't like the menu layout, and interior of shop could use an update. I will keep going back here no question.
Best bagels in the Bay Area. Joanne, Kenny, mom and pop makes this our favorite place for bagels. They are done the right way, and the reason why you stand in line behind 15 people on a Sunday morning!
Absolutely love love love this place!! So glad I found it and got away from Noah’s. Can’t get enough of their egg/sausage salt bagel, it’s a favorite💚. Customer service is excellent, this place never disappoints!! TY !!
Great fresh bagels! Got 10 this morning of a variety, and they were all great. If I'm ever in the area again I'll make sure to stop by!
Small place but a nice variety of bagels. The varieties of cream cheese are also a great feature. Very nice neighborhood feel as well. I liked the jalapeño cream cheese very much.
UPDATE: So good we came back for more. Ordered the White Fish Bagel with everything and the Salmon, both were excellent but the White Fish won! San Carlos is lucky to have this place. I was skeptical but they make great bagels! Good variety. Paid $2.50 for an everything bagel toasted with butter. Owners are friendly. Noticed bags of "day old" bagels for sale. Went next door for coffee and ate the bagel. I was pleasantly surprised to see the bagels had toppings on both sides. Soft and chewy with a good tooth. Went back to buy a bag of the day old for $4.50, a very good value and well appreciated by everyone at home.
Thoroughly surprised and impressed! We got the standard whipped cream cheese and salmon cream cheese with a few bagels too. It's super fluffy, light, and smooth. I'd definitely come back here and pick up some more. Food: 8/10 Value: 6/10
Excellent bagel place to grab a quick breakfast. They have tables, there is free street parking and they are close to a free parking structure as well.
Such an amazing place! I recommend 100%. Great vegetarian options. The veggie bagel sandwich was to die for! Looks like it's family owned. Has outdoor seating.
Sooooo delicious!!! Many kinds of options, my must have brunch during weekend! And you can always enjoy walking around the neighborhood after having the bagels!
Easily one of the best bagel places I've been to. Bagels are super soft, they have tons of variety and prices are reasonable. I tried the jalapeno bagel with egg and cheese along with a chocolate chip bagel with date and walnut creme and finished it off within 5 mins. Yummy!!!
This has been my favorite weekend breakfast place. Many bagel sandwich options. Also many cream cheese options. Their staffs are always so cheerful and happy!
Really fast service and always the best bagels. They have an AMAZING staff. Love this place.
The bagels are good but you have make sure your order is clearly heard and understood by them at the register and by the person prepping the bagels. All in all love their bagels and cream cheese.

My favorite Bagel shop, have been going here with the old ownership and the new one. The new staff took it to another level. One of the only places that i would compare to new york bagel. the staff is amazing and always smiling. the store is clean and the bagels are always fresh. PS: keep in mind there is twins working there so don't get confused at who you talking when you walked in ( haha) Would recommend anyone to give this place a try, worth it. Keep up the good work everyone, really appreciate your hard work
Always been a favorite. I do miss old ownership but the new folks are nice as well! Egg bagels are always amazing and fluffy!
I come here every day and they know my order. They're the best!!

Friendly staff!!! Small, quaint place. I walked in and there's a refrigerator with drinks to my left and coffee to the right. They have a nice selection of breakfast and sandwiches. I placed my order, paid, got my coffee, and before I was done serving my coffee, my sandwich was ready. My bagel was bit toasted enough, but it was good. Well, I finished it. Starbucks is next door if looking for a strong coffee, over all positive experience.
One of the best bagel shops in the bay area. They boil their bagels instead of steaming so you get much better microblistering (that's there are boils on the bagel and it gets nice and crunchy). Only gripe is that I don't particularly like their coffee selection and the bagels with cream cheese are less than stellar. Highlight is a bagel with cheese, egg and avacado. Delicious.
Customized my bagels, which was the good thing about this. Place is small and like a mom and pop kind of bagel place. Someone takes your order and delivers it to you while you wait. The place is tight and 1-2 tables outside and a little bench inside. Bagels were good though after customizing it to how I want! Instead of everything bagel I think they called it all in one. Still good and filling. Had to get latte elsewhere but worth it for a quick pick me up.
It is a good place with variety of options. Bagels were fresh and tasty. I picked a bagel sandwich. They use microwave for the sandwich to make the egg content which I didn’t like. But overall, people are nice, quick service, good food.

Great bagels and great bagel sandwiches! But -1 star because their fridge is on the warmest setting possible, and lukewarm Cole tastes 100 times worse than cold Coke

Usually super organized and amazing! Food was great but they forgot certain components in our order- thankfully we checked before we left but usually not so forgetful. The man taking our order didn't really listen through all of it.
Wide selection of bagels, spreads and sandwiches. Made my bagel pretty quickly. Inexpensive, at $4 for a regular bagel with cream cheese. There are better bagel shops out there, but for a quick fix of a warm, soft bagel, this place does the job!
This was for my business trip up to San Francisco city for a good review bagel. Well I didn’t really think it was that good. I order everything bagel toasted with pastrami and Swiss cheese and lettuce, onions, tomato and cucumber. I thought it would be good but it felt almost like they rushed and it was somewhat stale. Maybe too busy? Anyway it’s not for me. Won’t be coming back next time.

Nothing special, just 3 tables to seat and the bagel were nothing particular but it is the only place at 8:30h to have breakfast
I was looking to go to a mom and pop shop for some amazing bagels. I ended up going here based on reviews. Bagels were delicious but crazy expensive. A mini bagel is $1, and if you want cream cheese, another $1? What the heck? I got a brownie that I thought would be tasty, but it wasn't even sweet. It was like a healthy brownie. The other thing that scared me away was there was a homeless guy just chilling right where you open the door.

The service is not good. I went today to pick up my bagels and they were in a box. I asked for them to be in a bag and the cashier was rude. In my 35 years going there they've always been accommodating and today was different, I'll go to another bagel shop from now on.
Encountered the owners son today and he called me a Bum. As he wanted to Argue with me how I wanted my Bagel cooked. I want the world to know this kid is a liability his life experience is sad. As he continued to run his mouth As I did run mine. And wen I left he came from.the back and wanted a physical altercation. Trust I would have gave it to him nicely folded up. God saved him today. The owner did nothing. So Youngman im far from a Bum im a business owner of a handyman and plumbing company. Man like you who even think about speaking like that in my company. Are unemployed on site. If any one else has experience this behavior from the owners son be careful. I give this place no stars. And will not be back as a paying customer no more
I have had two experiences at this place and they never get my order right. This time I asked for 1 bagel sliced with two different cream cheeses and they charged me for two , the other time they dint take our order and gave us the wrong things eventually. Too busy to take proper orders too busy for any service . Just all round poor - I always feel scammed when I am here .
