I can't speak highly enough about the service especially the manager (Sean/Shawn). He helped me with a 1200 miles away family dilemma. I couldn't be there to attend a very special event and he stepped in and saved the day! In a week filled with issues, headaches, heartaches, and turmoil, he was a hero if only to me this day. The picture maybe a bit cringe, but it truly will be a highlight I will always remember... even though it took photoshop to memorialize it. Thank you!!
I’ve been coming to nomads for years, and every time I do, it’s fantastic. Sitting on the deck you also have a hard time not running into some cool San Clemente dogs and their owners, which is always a bonus for me.
If you are craving fresh and healthy, you have to stop in for a bite. The poke bowl and tuna skewer was on point. We are coming back for sure.
Awesome vibe and great service. Food was excellent. Will definitely come back!
should have a ten star option. my favorite spot for after surf or volleyball drinks and fantastic food. Courtney is the best waitress in the land. super friendly and has an exceptional knowledge of the menu. I think they should expand into another state... oh wait, they did! I highly recommend when u get the chips and salsa, get all the salsas option... thank me later for the recommendation. enjoy! - we do
I’ve been to nomads multiple times, and it’s always such a great experience. I just learned today that there is a hotel there as well! I will check that out because I love the food so I’m sure I will love the hotel as well! Thank you Nomads!
Needed a quick bite (preferred healthy) and this hit the mark+++! Had the Joco’s poke bowl and Ahi Tuna Torte. We loved it! Fresh, quick, cool laid back atmosphere, great attentive service, fair prices. Definitely making our San Clemente favorite list. PS. They have an extensive beer tap selection!
Very local SC Great chips and good taps
Gonna have to continue to love this place and keep telling friends about it. Still one of my favorite go to eats around town. Great staff. Amazing food... best hot sauce ever 😋 And a wicked cool patio area! I mean you can't go wrong with all that and beer and cocktails too. Local favorite. If you haven't tried yet, do. If you have... spread the word.
The Canteen upstairs has delicious food and great service. Cool local vibe, with friendly people. The carne asada was full of flavor and delicious. Also our bartender was great. We stayed in the hotel also. We loved our room and our experience. Very quaint, personable place. They make sure you are taken care of. We even got some free perks just from showing our appreciation. Also located in the heart in downtown San Clemente. The Canteen upstairs has delicious food and great service. Cool local vibe, with friendly people.
Decided to choose this place for a nice weekend away from the city and I belive I choose correctly. It's very quiet and discreet. Easy access to many local restaurant and very close walk to the ocean. Beautiful place both inside a d out. The restaurant and the the 2 drink freevee for staying was a huge plus. I am definitely coming back soon.
Really yummy food and Cassidy is a great server. Will be making this a regular spot!
I love nomads! I stayed in room 5 and the architect was beautiful. The food and stay both have amazing service. I will definitely be back for more and recommend all my friends here. Surf camp is the best!
Different, fun and inviting! Give it a try and a chance , walk in, see what spot feels like a good place for a drink and or a Poke bowl. The staff here are knowledgeable and talented. We love the tuna poke bowls. Mojitos and Old Fashioned were great.
In my opinion, this hotel was AMAZING the service was perfect, no complaints at all. Food was on par so we're the drinks, loved the freebies we got on entry. I think every single part of this hotel was clean, Yes this includes the bathroom (I checked). Overall this hotel gets a 5-Star. Review from me🥰
I love Nomads. The best food, healthy options, amazing margaritas, fabulous servers, and a super fun atmosphere!
This place is pretty good, it’s a local restaurant and because of that you will get a different take on many of the foods that one has already had in the past. Like the torta, instead of your normal bolio bread, you get a ciabatta bread instead. Now is that a good thing, we’ll it’s a hit and miss sometimes and this time it’s a bit of a miss. But that shouldn’t turn you away from areas like these because some of the others things in the menu which they do a different take in comes out delicious. So I recommend this area because I love the open mindedness of it and can’t go wrong with a well priced steak that turned out to be very good. So do yourself a favor and go here for a nice lunch near the beach.
Great food and service. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Full bar and the salsas are awesome.
This is our second time staying here and we still love it!!! The rooms are brightly decorated, the beds are comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay here again.
The food is really good, tastes super fresh, lots of flavor. Definitely coming back. Got the Indo shrimp bowl, the spam bowl, ahí bowl, and grilled veggie skewers.
Upon arrival the room was such a shot of color and set the tone for the stay. Definitely feel the California vibe and the decor is so playful and fun. Getting into the room is super easy with the email instructions and the digital access to the room which made it a breeze to get our stuff in an unpack without having to go check in in the front desk. I’ll definitely have to book dish when I do my stay for surf camp.
Love this hotel! First time staying here and I’m blown away already. It’s super clean and cute! Check in was so easy as well. I’ve eaten at the restaurant several times before and always wanted to stay here. The food is incredible as well. I will for sure be back !
Check in was super easy, and our room is so awesome! Hawaiian themed with bright colors and the sounds of the ocean playing made for a super fun entrance. We came out for a sister trip, and would definitely come again. Awesome location too!
OH.EM.GEE! Whether it’s a quesa-dilly or poke bowl - THIS PLACE’S FOOD IS ONE OF THE BEST IN OUR BOOK! I cannot urge you enough to try this place if you’re in the area! Staff is nice also! We need 1,000 stars! 🤩🤩 Grapefruit margarita is amazing!
Great distinctive and original dishes here, we it a great variety of beers! Servers are friendly and attentive too. The only down side is the lack of parking in San Clemente. The spam bowl was incredible with fresh mango and avacado, the Carne Asada bowl was simple and delicious.
Best place in town for quality poke and other great island style food as well as some great Mexican food. Drinks are amazing if you like tequila and cold beer this is the place to go.
Nomads Canteen has a cool casual beachy vibe with delicious healthy food options! Poke bowls were amazing! Tacos are very filling and delicious! Whatever you get you'll love!
Food is great, absolutely love the atmosphere & the servers are all nice and courteous ! Owner Sean is a really cool guy!!

Honestly the nicest staff around. Great spot and great ambience. Plenty to choose from - you’re sure to find something for everyone food or beverage wise.
Spend a bunch of time in San Clemente, can’t believe I’ve never found this place before. Great food, great drinks, great peeps…ended up staying at hotel too-Great Experience!!!
Everyone that works here is always so nice AND the poke is my favorite in the USA
This is the coolest place i ate at during my 10 days in San Clemente. Good food full bar offerings, outdoor seating was great in mid-September. Indoor bar seating and tables, too. Attractive staff, friendly, lots of locals. Surfer hangout. Believe there is a parking lot adjacent to the ramp up to the place (I walked there from a rental). Loved it.

Pet friendly but no place for the pets to potty. Pet fee not communicated until after reservation was made. Room was nicer than expected. No washcloths. Towels only. Nice that shampoo, conditoner and body wash were provided.
Nomads was totally fine. The canteen is above the small hotel we stayed at while visiting, so we stopped in a few times go grab a drink and meet up with other friends. The vibe is comfortable, definitely casual, kind of beachy but in a more surfy way than cheesy sandals/seahorses/palm trees/resort way. Service was a little slow, but friendly and accurate. We enjoyed it as a pretty effortless bar hang, but it wasn't the atmosphere or menu I'd seek out if it took more effort than walking upstairs from our room. My personal star rating would probably be a bit lower because it's just not an experience I loved as much as some other spots in town, but I'm giving it a 4/5 all around because they definitely do a good job with the approachable vibe they're after.
Lovin' the easy / comfy / laid back vibes... Surf camp lol
A group of 4 stopped in on a Wednesday night. They weren’t too busy so we were seated immediately. I was immediately shocked at how affordable the pricing is. I ordered a salad with grilled ahi and the creamy coconut dressing. I was very satisfied with the meal! The portions are decent but not so much food that you feel like you’re stuffed. They have indoor and outdoor seating with space heaters for chilly nights. The service was very fast and attentive. Definitely a good casual spot for dinner and drinks!

We spent over 30 minutes waiting just to get water. Our server appeared busy and she was nice, I'm not sure if this busyness/wait time is typical. We sat on the patio because the music inside the canteen was so loud we had to raise our voices fairly loud to even hear each other. This was particularly frustrating considering the fact that the music is playing this loudly directly over our bedroom for the night. I appreciated that they offered locally brewed drafts, and the ahi tuna was delicious. The menu was priced at more or less what you'd expect for mexican canteen food close to the beach, pricey and small portions but fresh.
Good food, bland & not the best value, but good service, expensive drinks ($20+), outside relaxed layout, staff disposed of our wanted take-home items quickly and unnecessarily. A disappointing experience & lack of respect. No longer an enjoyable experience.
We sat on the patio which was full when we arrived. In the time it took for our food to arrive, others had given their order, received their food, eaten it, and the entire patio had cleared of people before our food even arrived. It took at least half an hour to get our drinks & get our order taken - had to ask another waitress to get our waitress to come take our order. Well over an hour for our food to arrive after our order was taken. And by the end, we had to leave our table and went into the bar to ask to pay our bill so that we could leave. I don’t think anyone would have noticed if we just left, to be honest. My friend never got the water she asked for (twice). Other reviews are great so maybe just a one-off for this waitress tonight but it put a damper on our night. 🫤

This is the second time my family & I have been to this place and each time the women servers have been extremely rude and only welcoming to the “locals” were a biracial family and the service we got really felt like they had a problem with that. My kids felt extremely uncomfortable. I encourage any person with even a little color find somewhere else more welcoming. The food is good but not worth the service at all we will NOT be coming back.
Went to park and was walking to throw trash away and owner told us we had to move because i was walking opposite direction to throw my trash away. I told him we been here multiple times and he said “i don’t care how many times you been here” and i just told him we’d leave because it was rude and he said he was happy to see us leave. NEVER GOING BACK
