This place provided a fun lunch. Awesome diner with an appropriate beach vibe mixed in on the inside. Super clean and bright. The counter/looking into kitchen area is framed by an Airstream trailer and colorful awning. There is also a spacious outdoor patio with umbrellas. The service was exceptional. The place was full but checked on often and everything came out perfect! Appreciated their fresh ingredients and plentiful portions at affordable prices. Overall, an outstanding experience!

We had the Patty Melt, Turkey Sandwich and a hoHot Dog this time. This one is my 2nd favorite next to the one in Laguna so far. • great food • moderately priced • lots of kids meal option • very friendly staff • clean bathrooms • really fun interior • kids get some fun paper toys • they have vegetarian options • can get things other than burgers too • I love their shakes. Try if not on diet.

The San Clemente Ruby's has got a surfing theme in keeping with the local community vibe. Hamburgers are good though not outstanding hence 4 stars. Excellent service and atmosphere.

The location and atmosphere was great. Service was ok had friends that waited over 30 mins for food when we got ours in 15. Food was great got chicken tenders and fries which was shockingly good. This restaurant is also on the pricer side.

I get to Ruby's, I get seated. I did not enjoy the service. It was very sad and the nameless waiter (He did not have a name tag) was not happy about his job. I enjoyed the people watching because this kid got ice cream then teleported from the back of Ruby's back into the front of the store. When I order the adult grilled cheese I was exited, because I am a grilled cheese connoisseur. I get my grilled cheese and think "This cheese looks like melted plastic. The toasted part of the bread looked like it was cooked with oil, so there were spots that had cooked faster than the rest so it was blackened. The inside of the bread looked toasted which gives them 1 point. Other than that it should be called the little kid grilled cheese.

Pretty good food. The service is fantastic, they take your order quickly and are quick to bring your food. The food is good. I got a burger and fries, it was pretty standard diner food. The rootbeer float and strawberry shake were both really good. Overall, good food and drinks, and amazing service. 4/5 stars.

Beautiful atmosphere, kind staff, mediocre food. Reasoning for 3 stars was because it was very slow at the time we came in, and our server (although very nice) rarely came out to the front. It was tough to wave him down for anything. No one was at the front desk when we arrived and we waited a while for a worker all the way in the back to notice us. Additionally, there was lipstick on the coffee mug that was given to me. Despite the restaurant its self looking clean, the mug and utensils were not. It was okay, but I don’t plan on coming back.

I’m giving 3 stars merely for the food after my last couple visits here. My son and I have been going to Ruby’s forever, it’s our spot as it was mine with my mom in the 90s! We just moved to San Clemente so this is our closest location now. One of the best perks nowadays is that on Tuesdays kids eat free. Last time my son and I went to this location, they didn’t apply the kids eat free and for some reason that time I brushed it off and thought ok maybe this location doesn’t do it? We decided to go last night since it was Tuesday, I called ahead this time and asked them if they do the kids eat free on Tuesdays. The gentleman who took the call (who I’m pretty sure was our server) assured us they do it. We go in and eat, and when he brings the bill I realize he didn’t apply the kids eat free for my son’s meal. I pointed it out to him, and he said okay I’ll bring it. And goes to get a new bill where it’s applied. So basically the situation here is - if the customer doesn’t request the kids eat free Tuesday thing, they don’t do it? I’m pretty sure that’s very poor business practice. He got caught, then went to get a new check. He clearly knew about the deal, given he immediately went to go correct it. Did he not want to do it because it may affect how much his tip is? He wasn’t very pleasant overall, which I wouldn’t have cared about had the bill thing not occurred. Kind of bummed about this location and think we will just make the trip to Laguna next time.

Tonight’s experience was great. For it alone, I would give 4 stars. I went with some friends for dessert. We enjoyed it and the waiter was funny and personable. However I’m keeping my rating at 3 because the past few years when I’ve gotten an actual meal here I haven’t been wowed.

Cool place he tree at Outlets at San Clemente! Excellent spot right after cars & coffee here every Saturday, rain or shine! We got there around 10:15 am, it was busy, but nothing crazy. There no waiting, we got sat down right away. Here is what I didn’t like. 20 minutes go by and no one had even gotten our drink’s order yet. So we had to ask for someone. After that, our orders were taken, we ordered our food right away too, just in case lol. The food came out another 20 minutes later, and it was good. And the prices were average. We did enjoy our breakfast there, the food was really good, except for my daughter’s potatoes (They were hard), but the potatoes on all other plates were nice and soft. So we just shared. We’ll probably try it again. By the time we were leaving, around 11:10 am, the place was packed. There was also a line of people outside the restaurant by their front door.

Came in on a Saturday morning after Cars and Coffee. Restaurant had a few open booths and some tables. We were seated in the back corner away from the main restaurant. We’re Latin, and most of the customers were white, so it felt like they were seating us in a different area due to our race. I asked to get moved to a booth so we could fit better and they did. Ordered an order of beignets and they were not cooked. You can see details in the picture. My wife and son ordered cinnamon French toast, and they were dry. They describes it as old bread with egg coating. The eggs were inedible. My other son got chicken strips and they were so over cooked that he didn’t eat it. The waiter visited our table 3 times. Once to drop off ranch that they forgot, to drop the check, and the third time to return my credit card. I told him the food was horrible, and that’s why we didn’t eat it, but I would pay. The manager came to our table and helped clear out mostly uneaten plates. Didn’t apologize for the crappy or undercooked food. Would not eat here again. Had amazing service at the theater down the way. And amazing service and food at Asada after we watched a movie. Stay clear of this place

T his is obserd! We went to the movies, and stopped in for a hamburger. Thos is the 1st time I have been to Ruby's in 15 years. Sadly enough, i should have trusted my intuition. The hamburger was terrible, and there was not much to it. A massive bun, and littke meat. Fries were old and cold. So sad. In this day of competition, how does this place survive? McDonalds has better quality. This message is for management. Please get your priorities in order. The setting is perfect. The product is horrible!
