Visited this place twice, both times my bill ended up being around 30 including tip. I tried their french toast which was loaded with fresh fruits. I also had one of their pastries which was croissant cube with chocolate or something like that and it was served warm and really delicious. Cafe vibe was great and espresso and latte tasted good and had the kick
Beautiful little French creperie/cafe in the heart of the San Diego Gaslamp District. I attended a convention there in October and visited twice in two days because it was so delicious and peaceful! The seasonal oatmilk butter pecan latte was to die for (I ended up ordering it both days), and the pastries and egg croissant sandwich were delicious as well. The employees were efficient, kind, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was peaceful and clean - both inside and out. I plan to attend the same conference next year with my husband, and I already have plans to return to this very spot for some of the most delicious food and coffee I've ever had. Highly recommend!
Okay everyone here is a fantastic hidden gem in San Diego. And for those living in Orange County there's one at the Packing House. Parfait Paris took me back to the Parisian eateries I just went to in August, when I visited Paris. This one is a must for the European conosours. The manager Phoebe was delightful, friendly kind and so personable. The staff Ben C. and Ivy were absolutely wonderful, and had such a cute little French accent. The food was timely and incredibly delicious! If you want to go to heaven just for a bit, try Parfeit Paris, you will be sure to have your taste buds tantalized with the most delicious eggs benedict I've had in a very long time. The carrot cake was incomparable yuuuum, and I highly recommend the chocolate desert in my photos, it melts in your mouth. I had the best Dulce de Leche latte I've ever had. I had to finish the brunch with a sweet heavenly treat for later, I took some mochi variety home, that my family and I devoured watching our favorite TV show. If you are anywhere around the San Diego area, you must visit this place, it will transport you to the divine Parisian eateries in France!
While in San Diego, I was searching every morning for a place where I could have a vegetarian-friendly breakfast since I’m Muslim. Parfait was only a 3-minute walk from my hotel, and it quickly became my go-to spot. I ended up visiting more than three times during my week in the city. They honestly have the best croissant I’ve ever had. On two of my visits, I met Phoebe, the girl working there. She carried a soft smile behind her shy and innocent face, and she was incredibly kind, even making the effort to pronounce and remember my name correctly. Thank you for the warm experience you provide, it truly made my mornings in San Diego special.
I really like the many flavors we got, we got the lemon. We got the pineapple. We got a lot of flavors that I can’t name for spoilers, but they were all really good. I definitely recommend this so yeah! - Ephraim Keith, 12 yoa Unique experience of amazing flavors!
Lavender Honey latte was delicious! Barista was friendly and fast . Walked right up for a coffee at 745 am when everywhere else was packed. Don’t miss out!
We had breakfast there this Sunday morning. The brunch menu looks great and you can go full breakfast to light. I did the classic breakfast and it was very well done. Potatoes cooked just right (I’m from Idaho, I know these things). Eggs same. My wife had an almond croissant and says it was wonderful. At 8 am there was no wait and we sat out on the sidewalk patio. Happy to go again.
We ordered crème brûlée, and Evelyn was incredibly kind and welcoming. The torch touch was absolutely incredible.
Super cute cafe in midst the gaslamp quarters. Open early, great for early birds. Food is delicious. Baked goods look to be European standard deliciousness. I highly recommend this place for a great breakfast or a quick coffee to go.
From the moment I stepped into this restaurant, I knew I was in for something special. What really set this place apart, though, was the service. Every member of the staff greeted us with genuine smiles and treated us like valued guests. Dove was attentive and made excellent recommendations. And the desserts — absolutely delicious! Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh flavors. It was clear that great care and pride went into every detail. This location was recommended to me by Leon and I'm so grateful I went. If you like Paris Baguette, then you'll LOVE Parfait Paris. I plan on making another trip next time I'm in town.
The place was recommended by our hotel to go for coffee. We took our laptops and wanted to get coffee and work there. We got cheesecake and coffee. Interesting, our order did not show up on their screen so they did not make our coffee - rather, they made it for people after us. We commented that maybe it’s because we did not have a number tag/flag on the table. It was actually a system issue, minor, and they came with coffee right away, I’d say he was the manager - super kind, great attitude, professional, and even offered us macaroons for the trouble. Not an issue, but I’d say their service is great! We all miss orders or system does not show them (I realize it, I have a business and where people pay cash, sometimes the orders don’t show in queue). What the company does to mend an issue is truly impressive and we stayed for hours and worked and enjoyed the place! The whole team is wonderful! So are the coffee and the treats. We went there again the following day. The sandwich was amazing, the salmon crepe fantastic, they just really do a top notch job!
I have visited this pastry/ coffee shop several times in San Diego. Pastries are delicious, as are their desserts, food, and drinks. They also have ice cream, which I haven’t tried but assume is just as good of a quality as everything here. Thank you to Carlos for preparing the food. Thanks to all the staff members, Andrew, Dove, Matt and Leon, for such a friendly service and kind hearts! Their opening hours are a treat, too! It was lovely to stumble upon it late in the evening and find out I’ll be able to grab a bite as early as 7am! Happy Holidays, Everyone and Happy New Year!🎄✨
The coffee, food, everything was just amazing!! Highly highly recommend this place!! Huge shout out to Ben & Ivy for their recommendations!
Pretty good to be honest. My fave is the dubai croissant, and the mango bliss Service is good and she is very nice and sweet. Probably go again
A true American sports bar, surpassing anything your imagination may dream up for you! Once you step inside of American Junkie, You are greeted by wall-to-wall televisions. Tuned in to the latest live sporting event. You are quickly ushered to a clean, well positioned table, Booth, or bar stool, we're an attentive waiter, waitress or bartender will assist you and meet your every need! The food is exceptional, and well priced. The quality of the food surpasses any bar, food expectation! The pizza is the best in San Diego! El Presidante and Barstool Sports would love this place! I highly recommend it. Just plan to be there for a whole afternoon or evening. You are going to make friends, and enjoy the company of the other patrons! It's amazing!
Family and I were visiting San Diego for a week and needed a place to watch the Ohio State game. I called this place up a few hours before kickoff and he was kind enough to reserve us a booth! The service was outstanding, the food & drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere was great! Although we didn't get the outcome we wanted it still was an awesome place. Highly Recommend!!
Dude Ryan is the best!! He didn’t pour too heavy or anything (appreciated, I’m not trying to die tonight lol) but he had the best personality, it was super busy and he was jamming, taking really good care of everyone. As a fellow bartender, I really appreciate his attitude and vibe. He did upsell a bit, but he was so cool that I didn’t mind and got the expensive liquor. I never do that!!!
The best place in downtown San Diego! The service and food is amazing. The whole vibe of this bar is fun and the cocktails are top notch. My girlfriends and I had a great time. Highly recommend 🙌🏽
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ American Junkie never misses! Huge shoutout to Alexa behind the bar — straight up an all-star. Kept the drinks flowing and the energy high all night. The music? 🔥FIRE🔥 . Big props to DJ Wubbzy (Issac) for dropping banger after banger — had the whole floor moving. (On a Tuesday) Props to Mario & Ryan on barback duty keeping it tight, and to Tim & Valeria for the good vibes. Even the security guard was cool and professional — rare to see that kind of hospitality front to back. From the Padres flag overhead to the party wheel and neon lights, the whole place runs like a well-oiled San Diego nightlife machine. Junkie’s got the formula. Certified downtown gem. I’ll be back. 💯
I got to experience American Junkie through both the Gaslamp Mardi Gras and Irish 4 A Day bar crawls, and I have nothing but good things to say. I got to try the green tea shots and eat the supreme pizza, which really hit the spot. The vibes were high and fun the whole time! So much fun, I highly recommend on a night out!
Came here on a busy Saturday night after Comicon. Got quickly seated, ordered drinks and food, and had waters quickly refilled. Drinks were great - had the mango jalapeño marg pictured and a themed whiskey lemonade, all in all very good for the price. Food was solid overall - fries were decent, burger was excellent, but the wings were well overcooked. Since the kitchen was about to close and the burger and the fries were good, will give them a pass on the wings and hope they’re normally better. Overall vibe was great. Fun crowd and the excellent DJ made it feel like getting a solid bar food dinner on the side of a club, in a good way. Shoutout to Maddie for the A+ friendly and attentive service even on a packed weekend night, Gaslamp needs more like you!
Nice atmosphere, however staff is slow, we had to wait for a single crepe over 30 minutes (there were two other customers at the store only) and they didn't make the order right. Some beverages and a strawberry sorbet were the only vegan options.
Mixed feelings here. The surrounding area smells like urine & weed, making it almost a torture to sit on their patio. Pitty… The service is extremely slow - people here are clearly not in a rush lol but at least very friendly. But still overpriced for what you get. The coffee tasted great - and so did the Crepes (to my surprise). Can recommend when nearby looking for a coffee
The shop is inviting and the staff super friendly. My pain au chocolate was really tasty however the iced chai latte even though it was good it was super sweet. I would go back for the pastries
The cafe has an amazing atmosphere. You can tell they put real thought and taste into creating it. It is a cozy and beautiful place, especially when the big windows are open. The desserts here are absolutely delicious and the breakfast is really hearty. It is a perfect spot for an inspiring start to the day or a romantic date. I would just make the service a little more positive or friendly, maybe more like the vibe you get in France, rather than how it feels now.
Was visiting San Diego and went on a Cisco live week ! The whole downtown was crazy and it was crowded . We were walking through the downtown and found this place . One of my friends suggested this . The place was huge and they had lots of tables inside and outside the restaurant! The bar was vibrant and they had some variety of beers on the tap . We had blue moon and it tasted a bit watered down. We then had the hazy IPA and it was really good . Lots of options to choose from . The issue was - SERVICE !! For so many people sitting in bar , there was only one bar tender and it was making the whole process so slow ! Once we get an order , it takes 10-15 mins for the next time someone comes and asks us .. with the higher influx of customers during Cisco live week- they should have hired more helpers . Food was good overall and wasn’t that pricey .! Price wise everything was normal and not too expensive . We had guac and chips and pizza and few other stuff . Everything was ok 👍 me For whatever I know and could taste like a PRO , I surely will give this restaurant a 4 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
1st time here and had the blackened shrimp tacos. They were more like shrimp fajitas but still pretty good. Nice selection of beer and not outrageously priced. A good clean restaurant, sports bar. Not my favorite 5th Avenue place, but far from the least favorite. Probably hit one more time before end of padre season. They don't open till 5 which is a little weird during baseball season.
The food was pretty good. we ordered chips and salsa and guac. We also got Buffalo wings as another appetizer. Both were good but nothing crazy. Our waitress was very nice and checked in on us many times. The appetizers came out within less than 20 minutes, but the food took about 40-50 minutes to come out. We both ordered burgers. The waitress apologized many times and even made it up to us by giving us a discount and one of our appetizers for free. This definitely made our night and was a great way to keep us happy.
Got the matcha latte and a cinamon roll. The cinamon roll was pretty good but the matcha was sandy
We visited here for a late lunch. The place was pretty empty as it was Easter Sunday. That's ok, we thought, service would be more attentive. She wasn't. My table had already started ordering while I was in the loo. When I got back i told her I needed time to look at the menu as we were provided one physical menu between 7 of us. I understand they have the QR code but but it was across a large table, plus I prefer a menu I can touch. She didn't come back. When the food that was ordered started coming. I asked the person delivering the food if the pizza base had egg or dairy in. It usually doesn't but now and then it does. He went outside and told our server that I had questions about the food. She came in and asked what question I had. I asked her whether the pizza base has milk or eggs in it. She told me the pizza comes with crust and marinara sauce. I told her I understand how pizzas come, but I am specifically asking about the crust, i used her word rather than base. She paused for a second and responded with, I think it has some kind of milk in it. As I have said in other reviews, this is a common issue I get. They are not sure and hope you are willing to stop asking. However, I asked her if she can ask, she repeated, you want me to ask? Yes I do. So she went and asked. It turns out there is no milk in the base. I ordered the vegetable pizza without cheese. It came pretty quick and the pizza was pretty big and super tasty. I felt I got great value for money with the pizza being $14. The lack of attentiveness didn't stop there. By the time we were ready to leave for our flight. We waited a long time to pay. By this time she was leaning over the bar talking, so we couldn't make eye contact or flag her down as we were her only customers. In the end, one of us had to go up to her to ask her to pay.
FUN ROCK BAR w/ MID-TIER FOOD... I decided to try the pizza at The Gaslamp's American Junkie as it's a heavily advertised item on the menu. It was fine...it probably wouldn't be at the top of my ordering list next time as it left much to be desired. American Junkie is more of a drinking spot to hang with friends and listen to punk, grunge, emo and pop rock hits. I really liked the aesthetic of this place! Service was a bit rocky, the waitress I encountered was nice, but not very attentive. Also, the place seems heavily understaffed. I came at a time when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant and the food still came out somewhat late. Oh, and there was this guy who made me very uncomfortable, he had staring problems. I don't know if he was a busboy or what, this dude was rude! American Junkie offers other American fare like chicken, burgers, and classic appetizers (mozzarella sticks, shrimp, nachos etc.). I spotted a few fun alcoholic drinks exclusive to SDCC. American Junkie is a large space with plenty of seating which includes booths, tables, outdoor seating, and a large bar with stools. I've heard people jump on top of the bar? Oh and there's a spin-the-wheel activity for late night party animals. If you're into that, it's here. Overall, I'm not impressed, in fact I'm maybe a little underwhelmed.
A sports bar/restaurant concept, I didn't go on a games day, but I would expect the crowd to be really good on games day. I gave 3 stars mainly for the poor service and average food. My server needed to be reminded 3-4 times just to fetch a lime for the corona. One moment she said all the chicken stuff were sold out, the next moment she suddenly said she remembered that the manager said chicken tenders were resupplied. Its not like she is super busy, in fact she was chatting away with the other staff. Food was not too bad, what you would expect from sports bar.
I ordered a galette to go as well as a latte and macarons. While nothing tasted particularly bad, I was very confused and frustrated to cut a piece off of my galette that was drowning in bechamel sauce to discover that it did not contain a crepe, but instead two slices of bread. I don't know if they thought I was stupid and didn't know what a galette was or they couldn't be bothered to tell me they were making a substitution, but I was very angry and had no time to deal with it due to my flight leaving soon.
I’ve been here three times with others for the taco and pizza nights. The pizza and tacos are pretty solid and depending on the bartender, the drinks can be strong. People love AJ for the cheap specials and hedonistic vibes. The service is godawful, slow and inattentive. The first time I came, the bartender with the mustache was too busy yapping to close out our bill. We asked the busser with glasses (he’s always there) to help us and he rudely said no we have to wait that’s the bartenders job. But I came here on pizza night and saw that same guy closing a check for others. When I came that night, my pizza took about 30 minutes to come out when my friends came out in less than 10. The bar had only a handful of other people in it and those who came after me were getting their food first! Yesterday (Dec 9), I came again for taco night. No one came to our table. I had to ask the bartender for help and she sent over the worst waitress with a nasty attitude. She was blonde, chubbie and in a uniform too small for her rolls. Never checked in on us and we had to go to the bar to order another drink. She rolled her eyes at us while we were waiting there and said we were in her way. The lovely tall, slim blonde bartender was a sweetheart though! She always noticed us and attended to us as quickly as possible. I would absolutely not come here during regular hours. The crowd isn’t for me but they get you with those darn specials.
Rude and condescending staff. Didn't allow me to take my non alcoholic Coca Cola after I had just bought it and was very mean and talked down to me and my friends. One of the staff, the DJ I think, called me and my friends "degenerates." For real. Don't come here. EDIT: The owner is trying to misrepresent what I said. I never claimed I was removed for drinking a cola, I said when I was removed they confiscated my drink which was perfectly legal to take onto the street. The owner in their reply also did not acknowledge any of the mistreatment by the staff which also included laughing in my face when asking for a refund. And just to set the record straight, the whole "degenerates" thing had nothing to do with my removal, it was unprompted hours before.
Sat with Alexis. Took forever to come over and then gave an attitude saying to not go to the bar and order from her. Gave another attitude on splitting a billing two ways for 3 items. Awful service. Same your time and money and go elsewhere. Will not be returning here. EDIT: Manager never responded to my email. Not surprised. There are better options in the area, like Barleymash!
Terrible service. Everything about this bar was great except for the service. When I was there, there was about 20 people in the bar. Huge Ohio State football fans. I sat at the bar, ordered a beer and wings. 10 minutes order another beer. 10 more minutes order another beer. Ask about my wings, bartender says they are almost ready. 10 more minutes order another beer. I finish said beer, it’s been 40 minutes since I ordered wings. I asked to cancel wings and just get my bill. The bill for 4 beers was $28 something. I gave bartender $30, I then had to ask her for the change. She then stated I thought that was tip. I got every penny back. Terrible service.
