Small mexican restaurant. I love the food there. horchata was delicious. My children loved the chicken quesadilla, and I had the caranitas burrito. 🌯 😋. Husband got burrito asada, and step son had a chicken taco came out amazingly as well !! everything was delicious !!! Definitely recommend 👌🏻

I missed my trolley stop so I jumped off and see this taco shop across the tracks. The owner was very friendly. He said you missed your stop to come try my food. I "Why not?" and order 3 mini tacos - cabeza, adobado, carnitas. Each one was so tasty. The tortillas were fresh and perfectly chewy. The salsas nicely spicy. And I got a grilled jalapeño. Love those. I'm going to miss my stop every Monday from now on!

No frills no nonsense solid taqueria. Hearty portion at a great price, the owner operator was courteous and quick despite running grill and register. The sausage breakfast burrito was large and tasty, one of the most savory Ive ever had and naturally came with red/green sauce. I'm shocked something so solid and affordable could be walking distance to the stadium and convention center. Was so impressed I got the California burrito to go as well.

Yes, we get it, there’s tons of homeless people outside. What do you expect, you’re in a trolley station in DT, San Diego. Lets focus on the taco shop though. Prices are great, staff is fast, really friendly, and patient considering the type of customers that come inside and food is good. I often get the roll tacos or the cali burrito and they never disappoint.

This is the BEST taco shop! The service is always top tier, the food is authentic and delicious, the portion sizes are huge for the price! What more could you need?

Oh my Jesus. Their sausage breakfast burritos are sooo good. We’ve got people hooked as well. The red hot sauce is my fav. Green is amazing too. The price is fair. Don’t mind the crowd outside. They keep them out. It is a public train stop in a downtown setting after all.

With all the construction downtown this place can be packed sometimes but do not worry they are very efficient in the kitchen and they can still get your order out quickly. I have never had an order mixed up, even with special orders. Staff are very pleasant and treat you like an old friend or family, being downtown that is a good change of pace. Great food, Great prices, and Great Service need I say more! I have been coming to Aztecafor about two years now and I Love it! Azteca deserves your patronage again and again.

Hello, I recently started frequenting this taco shop due to starting work in the area and I am very pleased with the service and taste. The guacamole is always fresh and their lemons almost seem specifically picked to give a tangy yet sweet taste. Last but not least the cashier with glasses has a very quaint demeanor and she remembers what you typically ask for when receiving your food i.e - lemons or salsa. Doing this makes me as a customer feel valued and appreciated. It is truly the small and simple things that leave the biggest impression. I recommend trying this place any chance you get. It is important to mention that there is a decent amount of houseless people outside, but do not worry they are people as well so try saying hello as you walk in to Azteca.

These tacos never fail to put me in a good mood. I’ve had them since I moved to Downtown, San Diego in 2022. I only come here when I am craving tacos and I only recommend Azteca! You could never go wrong whether it’s a taco, torta, enchilada, try it all!!! It’s worth it!

I'm a green salsa kind of guy 😁 The other thing is that I used to go to other burrito places that were trolley accessible but more in downtown. One specifically isn't open very late, while Azteca more or less has normal hours. So, as they say, 85-90% of success is showing up. This is another big reason why Azteca gets my vote. They'll be seeing a lot more of me when I'm in downtown.

So there’s people out front of it waiting for the trolley but also there’s sometimes people drinking but that’s due to the surrounding area, anyways so a co-worker takes me there and man was I surprised, I bought a California burrito for $12.50 which is a good price , especially good because it comes with both guacamole and sour cream. I’ve had California burritos from ALOT of places, and this place may not be the best, it’s up there on my list. Since my first trip 2 weeks ago, I’ve gone there 2 more times. If you’re craving a Cali burrito, try this place out. I haven’t tried anything else so I can’t say anything else about the other food.

I downtown has many taco shops of very high quality. This is the shop I visit the most. Prices are a bit more balanced for downtown. This place is bomb. My friend claimed it was the best carne asada he ever had. This the spot next to little brewing so you can grab micro next door. Come check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Good authentic Mexican cuisine. Very quick to get your order up. The staff is always friendly and courteous. Has a great flavor and will fill u up.

I adore this quaint shop – every dish I've tried here has been delightful, and the service is impressively swift. The owner, who is exceptionally kind, guided me through the vegetarian options, which include Chile relleno, bean and cheese enchilada, potato tacos, and a veggie burrito. For those with wheelchair accessibility concerns, it's worth noting that the shop is conveniently located near the train station, with no step up or down.

The birria tacos, however, were basically the opposite and pretty disappointing. The overall dish just lacked any real flavor and was very dry, but I’m not sure if that was because it didn’t have any cheese or if the meat just turned out that way. Still a good spot to check out, but only for their normal tacos though.

I don't know how long they have been there. I do know that I am real glad that they are there. I ordered a California Burrito for my friend and I just had a Surf and Turf burrito. My friend said hers was very good. Mine on the other hand had a party with my taste buds. When I eat Mexican food such as a taco or a burrito my big thing is freshness and ingredients in this burrito were fresh. With every bite set off fireworks. I was havin Foodgasims. I'll take pictures next time and there will be a next time.

The man on the front is a nice person.I was coming here 3 years ago and if I am not mistaken tortas were bigger with different bread.still not bad tho.

I ordered a breakfast burrito and didn’t find it tasty at all. Bland, and burrito was swimming in a very runny sour cream. The hot sauces were also very bland and my tortilla felt like it was still undercooked or raw and very chewy. The rift raft that hang out in front makes it a little scary to enter as well. Service was fast and good.

Food was terrible and there’s tons of homeless loitering in front. Only saving grace is the employees were nice to me.

I stepped in here a few times. Their food is average and sometimes not well cooked referring to their burritos. Today, I only walked in to ask for a small cup of water since I was having a nonstop cough not feeling well. They could have given me a tiny cup of filtered water but they refused saying it would cost me a $1. Talk about petty. I will never go buy anything from the place again. I knew they would be so damn petty and I was right.

First, this place has some crazy things going on outside it's doors. Homeless people laying down, arguing blocking the door, not just one or two but many, but that's the theme with anything in that area even the grocery stores. Anyways, I ordered the vegetarian burrito 🌯. Got it home and opened it up, nice size but I've seen bigger. Taste was very basic. Nothing had flavor. Not even the beans. Won't be back but it was definitely an experience. Best of luck to the owners, they seem really nice wish they had better control of the riff Raff going in front of the restaurant.
