Great beer! Try a peanut butter stout float.

As someone who doesn't drink beer the peanut butter stout was fantastic. Perfect blend of stout and ice cream flavor.

I love Belching Beaver! Great beer, wonderful space, awesome location. Dog friendly! I highly recommend!

S

Had a great beer here on a recent visit to San Diego. Love their mural outside. Friendly welcome from the bartender and they were playing great late 90s-2000s music that this elder millenial loves. Neat neighborhood, a must add to your San Diego brewery tour.

Surprisingly very good prices. I strongly suggest trying the Mosaic if you like IPAs

Wonderful beer, and the bartender was knowledgeable about the beers on tap. She had great suggestions, and you could tell she was a fan.

The open concept of the establishment really captures the ocean breeze. The beer is nice and the staff are friendly so give it a try and support a local business!

Fun ambiance and good beer! The Mango IPA was my favorite. Mango can be so sweet but it was very mellow in the IPA. Everyone was also talking about how good the BBQ is but I didn't have a chance to try it

M

The bartenders are knowledgeable and can quickly put together a wonderful tasting flight for you based on your personal preferences.

A San Diego icon. A must try. Good beer selection. Friendly happy attentive staff. Dog Friendly is a definite plus. And love the roll up doors to bring the outside inside. A good mix of people from beer aficionados to young hipsters all having a good time. Looking for good beer with a good vibe? Then this is the place.

This place is super popular and well known for their peanut butter stout, which is a deliciously sweet milk stout. It goes awesome in their ice cream float as well, which is almost like a meal in itself. It's loud, packed, and loads of fun, which might not be a good fit if you're looking for a quiet, chill place. However, I'd highly recommend their unique beers here, especially if you enjoy maltier and sweeter beers.

Been on the bucket list to make it to, ever since I tried the peanut butter stout on draft in Canada many years ago. Did not disappoint. All of the selections were great, so far had the best sour locally. Games room in the back and deceivingly large. Trivia is on Thursday (I sadly won't be around to participate). 1000% support! That however may be my Canadian affinity for beaver(s)!

Great beers! Great service!! Michael aka f***face is awesome as well as Danica, Leslie and Mike! Fun atmosphere! A definite stop when in North Park. They even have beer floats that are amazing. Pet and kid friendly. One of the best places we have been too! definitely coming back here each time We are in town.Way better than modern times!!

The staff at this location are very attentive and welcoming. The atmosphere is always lively but never terribly 'rowdy'. The dark beer choices are excellent and there is always something different. This is my favorite taproom in San Diego and I will be a patron for as long as I live here.

I have always loved this place in less busy hours. Great beers, a relaxing atmosphere, and an arcade for those of us who remember arcades when we were younger

V

Easy place to find and we were lucky to find a parking spot. The Beaver had an exceptional beer for a woman who doesn't like craft beer. Great music and a friendly staff. I'll never be in San Diego again but if I was, I would certainly come here again.😃

S
Steven Moscoe

Do you have a hankering for an every day light beer? These guys got you. A Dark Czech Lager? They've got that too. And 3 different Hazy IPAs of course.

First time back in years, was so bummed to see them close due to fire. But they’re back and better than ever! Enough variety for beer-averse friends, great music/screens/games/entertainment, cool furniture— generally just a chill vibe and friendly bartenders. Tacos on Thursday good too! Though pricey. Welcome back, guys!

I’m in the bathroom right now and they’re super clean. Not drunk, just happy to be in here. I’d come here just to piss again at the very least:)

I can't forget the taste of the beer here. I wish they'd ship more to Japan.

My favorite brewery to go to in SD, I always make sure that I make a pit stop here. BB has some very unique beers, with their staple being the peanut butter stout. Normally, stouts or flavored beers has a small hint of the taste it’s going for, but this was almost like a milkshake! Speaking of milkshakes, they also do offer boozy shakes here. It’s a super chill atmosphere and they also have board games. I love coming here to start the night, or just to have a chill night with my friends. The beers are reasonably priced, and they often have new rotations on tap. I love breweries like this and their products make them super unique compared to others in the area. Don’t forget to go outside by the parking lot to take a blood tire next to either the Beaver mural, or the SD mural

Been going to Belching Beaver since before the remodel and I am DELIGHTED to say that they not only came back? But they came back SWINGING. The same wonderful cast and crew supported by pour both new and old! I especially love the improvements made to the Game Room (although admittedly missing the Spider-Man 2 cabinet) and welcome addition of an Experience Machine! Plus, never go hungry with the food stand setup outside!!!!

T

Nice brewery with a taco stand out front. The peanut butter stout is popular, so be sure to give it a try. Employees were friendly, and the food from the taco stand was good!

LOVE this brewery and their beer, and was happy they opened here in North Park. Try the light lager, the barrel-aged Saison or the Viva La Beaver, a Mexican chocolate nitro milk stout. Excellent beers, great staff, TRY IT!

Love this place. Great community hangout, dog friendly, great service from the staple bar staff. No food but plenty of options nearby that deliver and the typical food truck That posts up out front. They offer beer floats with a couple of their stouts, a unique offering and surprisingly delicious! Go with a flight, give a few of their offerings a try. You won't be disappointed.

A must-visit if you’re in the area! We stopped by for a beer flight and loved the laid-back, welcoming vibe. To make it even better, we brought over some sandwiches from the nearby 'The Girls Deli' to enjoy alongside our drinks. The combination of delicious brews and tasty bites made for a perfect afternoon. Highly recommend stopping in for a relaxed, enjoyable time!

Great place and friendly staff. Found myself back within 2 days because the location is so close and the beer is so good. Dammed double IPA and hop highway were really good. Support your local brewery.

One of the best craft beer spots in San Diego. Had family from Nashville and we had to try it as they are big fans I'd their product. Had the Mexican chocolate stout, it was delicious. No surprise there. We were doing a brew tour so we went on to the next location. This is a definite stop for any beer lover. Be advised, there is no kitchen on premises. They welcome people with their own grub and there are a number of options all within walking distance. Don't forget to take pictures with their iconic "Greetinga from San Diego" mural. Its adjacent to the bar and it's a must.

We came on a Sunday morning around mid November right when they started the covid restriction to have everyone sit outside and to order food with every alcoholic purchase. So thats what we did. It was pleasant outside, not too crowded and everyone was more than 6 feet apart. The beers were excellent and the staff was super friendly. We had a pleasantly chill time here. This location does not provide the full menu of food like the other locatio. So be wary.

K
Kim

GREAT SATELLITE LOCATION to sample and enjoy all that Belching Beaver has to offer! For $12 you can get 4 tastings of anything on draft- we thought that was a great deal. You can also buy full glasses or purchase from their selection of cans. We thoroughly enjoyed the hard seltzer (Raspberry - Blackberry is amazing). We did not order food but they had hot dog platters for sale (looks like different pop ups rotate weekly).

What a fun place! They have pool, pinball, fun vending machines. The staff was very friendly. It seemed like they all really enjoyed their job. They offered some fun alternatives for people that beer isn't their favorite beverage.. still, I did have there blueberry wheat beer... probably my favorite beer I've ever had. Don't be an idiot! Try Belching Beaver! You won't be sorry!

Great jerky, great pretzels, outstanding pale English ale on nitro. Adequate bathrooms. Almost a perfect spot, but only one TV and no pool.

Take a look at the picture below. That’s the bottom of my 2nd beer in less than two hours. (No, I didn’t drive afterward). Each beer was unique and delicious. The bartender did a mentionable job of servicing me and my hairy friend, Trevor. Can’t wait to come back!

R
Richard P

Pretty awesome beers! And the location/bar itself are great too. I liked the big roll-up doors/open-air feel of the place. The bartender was super cool and gave some great recommendations on which beers to put in our flight. Ultimately, my friend was unable to make up her mind, so we went with 3 flights to ensure we had a chance at tasting every beer! :D

Went here in December 2014 on a Saturday. The place itself is a great place to chill out and have a couple of beers (or more if you are like me). The have games to play if you are in the mood. We ended up playing Card Against Humanity for several hours on a Saturday afternoon. For the beer, they have a good selection of their beers own plus some other local breweries. For myself, its hard to beat a Milk Stout fresh out of the tap. Their's happens to be outstanding - five stars in my book.

K
Krysta Messier

Really chill place. Great atmosphere, nice bar staff and awesome beers. Favorite beers are the Great Lei and Me So Honey. Games to play with your friends if conversations aren't good enough and TVs to watch as well. Food trucks longer outside. They have food here but I haven't tried.

F

Great place, good beer, good service, awesome vibe in a small neighborhood bar, but I recommend avoiding their Tuesday open-mic comedy night. No disrespect intended, but the so-called "comedy" drove us out of there when we had been having a good time up until that.

I was genuinely excited to finally visit, having counted the peanut butter milk stout among my favorite beers since I first started exploring craft brewing. Service was enthusiastic and efficient, and the beer quality lived up to expectations. The stouts in particular show a confident hand, with several inventive flavor combinations that feel both distinctive and well executed. Where the lineup falls short is in range. Beyond the stout-focused offerings, the diversity of beer styles is somewhat limited. Even so, the visit was thoroughly enjoyable—and for stout lovers, especially, this spot remains an easy recommendation.

This small brewery has become one of San Diego’s craft brewery icon in little over a decade of operation. A must try if you are in San Diego. Good beer selection from IPA to seltzers. They are known for their stouts, peanut chocolate stouts. It sounds crazy at first but when I first tried it little over a decade ago, it was nothing like anything I’ve tried. I’ve been a fan ever since. Mostly friendly happy attentive staff. Dog friendly is a definite plus around here. Open concept of roll up doors brings the outside inside. Got a game room with pool table and taco stand outside, although it’s a little pricy. 4.4/5 ⭐️

My best friends boyfriend took us to this spot in North Park - said I had to taste their stout. I did make it known that I’m not really a stout gal (I’d say a year ago I was super into hazy IPAs, but in the last 6 months I’ve been really into fruited sour beers). After sampling their peanut butter milk stout I’ll admit it wasn’t half bad. Given I’m trying my hardest to broaden my horizons when it comes to food, drinks and just overall opportunities in life I decided to hell with and drink the milk stout. And that’s exactly what I did.

Are you not from this neighborhood, but want to check it out a Belching Beaver outpost? Do you love places that have an unwelcoming and disengaging vibe? This could be your spot! If you're an outsider visiting this outlet of Belching Beaver, you will see the bartenders, staff, and local patrons all having a great time. Everybody knows each other's names, and there's lots of back-slapping jolliness. Have you ever gone to a party where you didn't know the host or anyone there, and you were nervous about it? Then the extremely friendly host eases your nerves, welcomes you warmly into their home, and introduces you to all their friends? That's not this place, sadly. The party vibe of this Belching Beaver will be going on all around you, and you might as well just blend into the shadows. No lovely greeting to make you feel welcome, no setting the table for a good experience, nor any settling of those nerves. If they hung a sign outside saying, 'Locals welcome! Outsiders may enter,' at least you'd know what you're in for. The beer is good. It's Belching Beaver. The vibe and customer service are off here, and two out of three of the Big Three (food/beer, service, atmosphere) qualifies as an automatic, 'No, thank you.'

F
Felicity

Overrated. Perhaps I visited this place on a wrong day and talked to the wrong staff. There was not much interaction with the staff, and there was definitely no enthusiastic recommendation on certain beer. Got a flight of 4 (pretty standard for me to do when I visit a brewery the first time). I liked the hoppy hoppy night and the mango beer. I think they were creative in making these flavored beer, but some of them tasted like artificial flavor. Overall, a good place to hang with friend with nice atmosphere. I am just not a big fan of their beers.

We are all familiar with belchings infamous beers so let's talk about the brewery. Fast service. Bar games. Good ambiance. But I have to dock some stars because no business in the food/drink industry should be allowed to have a restroom as filthy as this one. And it was early in the night too!
