Okay so originally we wanted to go to Mike's red tacos because he saw it on Instagram and that should look bomb, but the line was super freaking long and it was already 8:00. So we went to the Thai place next to Little Caesars, and the prices were ridiculous because they were short-staffed and were only taking takeout for minimum of $18. There was lots of food choices in the plaza We just walked right next door which was the China wok and such a good find. The food is so yummy. I would definitely come back to support this small mom and pop shop. The portion size for the price was so worth it.
My neighbor recommended this place after I saw him coming home with takeout one evening. I’m very thankful for that! I’ve had take out twice and both times the food was outstanding! It’s reasonably priced, tastes great, and it feels great to support a small, family owned business.
This is my absolute favorite hands down favorite low price chinese spot. They have been here for 7 years dishing out authentic cuisine. Service with a smile does not exist here, however I come for the food and great value. I recommend any of the combos with a $1 chow main upgrade. Enjoy!
Great tasting food made quickly and piping hot when you order. Portions are great and I always have enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Veggies are always crunchy and taste fresh. Meats are savory and nothing is ever overly salty. Parking can be challenging if you're trying to park near the entrance, but there's plenty of parking behind the Sharps Healthcare building that you can park in.
So good. We were looking for something to eat and Chinese food sounded good. We live in Lemon Grove and everything was closed. We google mapped this location which is open until 930pm and took the drive. Kinda hard to find from the street as the sign was dim or out. When we arrived we placed our order from a safe distance and waited for the food outside. Was done in about 10 minutes. We got chicken chow mein, General tso chicken, house chicken and some egg drop soup. The size of each dish was huge. The small egg drop soup is huge too. Value was amazing. I usually take pictures, but we were so ready to eat this delicious food. We were all very happy with our meals. We look forward to going back soon. Go try this spot out if you're looking for great Chinese food.
Best Chinese food on the planet! They have a separate Chinese menu that has their hand cut noodles on it. Order those! I always get the chicken hand cut noodles and orange chicken. Huge portions, good prices, and amazing food. Don't get caught up with the customer service or lack there its worth it.
I love this place. The woman answers the phone as just a simple "hello" like you're calling your best friend, doesn't take your name or your phone number, never gives a time for pickup, just simply takes your food order, says bye bye, and hangs up. No matter, they are friendly when you pick up your food, everything is kept hot or made when you arrive, and it tastes so good. My favorites are the orange chicken, broccoli and beef, and chow mein.
Honestly the best Chinese food I've had in San Diego, the language barrier might be rough, but just be patient they will not disappoint! I've had almost everything on the menu for the past 3 years and can highly recommend! The only complaint I have is that they don't answer the phone sometimes so it's a tossup
Best tasting chinese food I've had in San Diego. Everything is made fresh, and the portions are HUGE. There are usually 1-2 people working at a time, and their first language isn't English, so please, cut them some slack and give them a little time, its a good mom and pop shop, please don't skip this place it's a must try!!
The food here is always amazing. Honestly, after a year or so of eating here, this has to be my favorite Chinese food place. I ended up trying most of the menu when I realized how much I liked the food, and I've been happily satisfied with everything that I've eaten. I particularly recommend the honey walnut shrimp, the chow mein (any kind), and the house special beef.
Yummy! This place is so good, lots of food for a good price. My new go to place for Chinese food! Being vegetarian it's always hard to find Chinese food items other than rice and spring rolls to eat. I love their garlic tofu! Definitely will be back :)
I absolutely love their food! This is my new spot for Chinese. I am so happy that I live so close, it is very hard to find food this good for a great price. Try the House Special Fried Rice, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and the House Special Chicken.
If you live in Claremont near the DMV, there's not much choice for Chinese. The closer you get to convoy the more choice but the more expensive. This one is affordable, with big portions, in a sort of a hole in the wall. Probably cheaper than Panda Express, and also has lots of actual real vegetarian choices. Local business, run by nice old couple. They've been hit hard by quarantine times.
Owner grew up w/ a different culture and background, so dont take her grumpiness personally. Each granule of fried rice was distinct and seasoned well with sauces and plenty of meat. Portions were huge; each noodle of the beef rice noodle was distinct and had a nice bounce in texture. Really you could sell this stuff for double the price easily at a well decorated upscale chinese restaurant.
Wow wow. I’ve been getting take out from Quick Wok for years now and their food remains so delicious. Please support this small business if you’re ever craving great Chinese food. Seriously I’m writing this as I’m eating because I wanted to express gratitude for the chef. 10/10 food quality.
-Sadly closed “( Still the BEST Szechuan Beef in San Diego! Perfect amount of heat and delicious flavor! Lunch special is an unmatched value. Chef is Grand Master!
I just discovered this place. I ordered war won ton soup and they made it even though it’s not on the menu. It was so good! For $16 I got two war won ton soups and fried “chips” with sweet and sour sauce. It was SO good!!
Went just for egg drop soup and was amazed. Went just before they closed and still tasted fresh They did not skimp out on eggs and treated it like an entree. It was delicious!!! Thank you also Cream cheese wantons egg rolls and dumplings tastes great too!
the best old school Chinese restaurant, prepared fresh and authentically, large portions, fair prices and absolutely delicious, first time, not the last time
The food is great and not pricey at all!! Kung Pao Chicken and shrimp are fantastic. The couple works here are friendly and nice as well.

I absolutely love this place for take out. It is a mom and pop shop and the food is absolutely made with love. Sometimes I just have a craving for Chinese American food and this place always satisfies it. I always get the Walnut Shrimp combo and switch it from rice to less salt chow mein for a small cost and it hits differently 🥹 I love this place and their food! Their service is straight forward so don’t expect the white glove treatment, but their food is fantastic.
Support small business! I've been coming here for 7+ years. There's large portions for what you're paying. I usually get their house fried rice, beef chow fun, walnut shrimp, chicken corn soup. I miss their special menu. The owner/chef is always so nice and his wife runs the front and helps him when she can.
The Food is very high quality. Had the sesame chicken and sweet and sour pork, both were cooked perfectly and had great crisp. The portions are pretty generous, with a $10 entree being about two meals. My only wish would to if they offered a combo plate so I could have more dishes without offering a mountain of food.
Keeping it real, no frills. Regular atmosphere. Lack of decor. The place seems dated. Those are the cons so far. Now the important information, the food. Hot, fast, and delicious. Tastes like east coast style Chinese express fast food. Great prices for what you get. Definitely a hidden gem. The delicious food overshadows everything else.
This place was my favorite. Im so sad that it's closed.
They have been closed for 2 weeks. Suspect family emergency, I hope they come back soon. Mongolian Beef is great! House special Chow Mein is great too. Place is so gloomy but food is great! I still prefer SamWoo but for some reason this place makes things taste good and different from SamWoo. So i occasionally stop by to get those 2 items. Taste great! Totally recommend to try at least once.
Their general tsao's chicken is good. Breading stayed crispy despite being covered in sauce, which can not be said about most of the other American chinese takeout in this area. The Kung Pao chicken is not spicy enough, however.
Real authentic, flavorful Chinese food. These are the flavors I remember growing up here in San Diego. I drive 20 minutes away from home for this place. And the menu prices are very affordable.
The BEST General Tso and Sweet & Sour chicken we have EVER had! The Mongolian beef had great flavor but was a bit salty. We were concerned when we walked in and it was empty, but I just knew the reviews couldn’t be wrong! This is definitely a place we will revisit the next time we’re in San Diego! Thank you! Everything was delicious!!
This place had the best fried rice and orange chicken, it sucks that happened to them. I was there when they got the phone call and it was closed for good, the lady owner was nice and welcoming. This place will be missed.

This is not a place you come to for great happy service or a bright fun atmosphere. This is a hidden gem. The food is amazing . The chicken could be bigger as it’s little nuggets but flavor is great. Walnut shrimp is great as well. Been here. Few times.
A hole in the wall Chinese restaurant serves made to order Americanized Chinese food at very reasonable prices. If you’re looking for a bargain, this is it. The older couple working here can take order in limited English and are are nice, Lunch specials have generous portions and are cheap (from $8 to $10) and available everyday (except Sunday, when it’s closed).
This place has great hand cut noodles. I got the house special stir fry hand cut noodles with pork, and I couldn't get enough! Unfortunately, the hand cut noodles are only on the Chinese menu. The owners know enough English to understand you if you want to order it, but you can get too detailed with you order or else they won't understand. The only other thing I tried was their scallion pancake which were just made from the frozen packaged stuff. I would stick with the hand cut noodles if I come here.
I've only ordered takeout. But, great portion sizes for the price. So far, the most comparable to the Chinese food I fell in love with on the East Coast.
Tasty Chinese food prepared well and quickly. Nice flavors, generous portions, reasonably priced. Glad we trusted the favorable reviews because we found our new neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Front and kitchen staff have their fast paced system locked on to cook and serve the orders as placed.
The food was amazing and prepared quickly, and tasted delicious! However, the people inside don’t speak amazing English- feels very much like a local restaurant which is nice! I do wish the atmosphere was a bit nicer, there is never many customers inside and sometimes the lights will be dimmed if they aren’t getting many customers.

Went for dinner with my aunt and uncle, small restaurant. Famous for the noodles, host was friendly. Only problem was the restroom is in the kitchen, had to walk through the cashier counter to go in, kind of weird to me. Dishes were huge, had to pack it up for another meal.
Eating in isn't great. Door was open so ot was cold. Decorations ladden with dust. English isn't great here so things can get lost in translation. Egg drop was bland. Mongolian beef was spicy. Pan fried noodle didn't have enough sauce. Honey walnut shrimp was some of the best I've had. They automatically gave us plastic utensils...We asked for chopsticks several times but never got them. I would eat here again but Id take it out to go, only.
If not for the food this place would never be visited again. I love their house hand cut noodles, but I didn't get that this time. Instead I opted for the house chow mein, another delicious meal. But the main reason I didn't get what has become our standard order was that I couldn't get the lady to understand what I wanted, in spite of pointing to the menu item right in front of her. Slightly rude and definitely gruff she is the only person standing in the way of 5 stars.
Nahhhh. You can pass on this place. Sketchy place. Sure, your normal sketchy looking Asian place with questionable business practices. Went in, woman lounging on a dirty couch behind the counter and immediately asked: you ready? Ok. Cultural differences. No, I said. Picked up a dirty laminated menu and asked to order something. She said: no. Like, no you don’t have it? Apparently they didn’t. I pull out my credit card to pay, and she said it won’t go through. “You have debit card?” Bad vibes already, right? So, I just simply said no. She didn’t even try to run it. Asked 3 more times if I had a debit card. No, I repeated, ready to walk out. Mildly committed at this point, and she could tell. She finally tried it. My card goes through. So, clearly they don’t want to pay the credit card fees, which is fine. But really? Indicative of shady business practices or at least dishonest. If she had said they don’t want to pay fees or charged me more for the credit card fees like a lot of places do, no problem. Obviously not. I think language barrier and/or cultural differences. But not to my liking. Food was fair. Go ahead a skip this dishonest place.
Very mediocre place. Lights were off when we entered - and they kept them off. Lady at the register appeared to be napping when we walked in to empty restaurant, and was turse. For lunch special, the wonton was buried under rice, and was overcooked. They don't give water - make you spend $2 on a water bottle. And, the food had little taste - other than greasy and salty. The tea was the only good part of the whole experience, and it was nothing particularly special. Definitely won't return.
The food here is not bad, but seems to be declining in quality over the years. They used to deliver, but now advertise that Grubhub does it for them. When I called last night to ask about delivery, I was rudely told that they do not have delivery. They have two significant problems: A very rude staff and no matter what they tell you over the phone when you order a meal to go, they do not start cooking it until you have physically come in and paid for it. It is not unlikely that when you mention this to the staff, they will rudely argue about it with you, saying that you came over too soon. I also am beginning to have some questions about the cleanliness of the place. I can only hope they get regularly inspected by the Health Department. Why do we go back? They are very close to where we live, have moderate prices and their food is palatable. However, if you are looking for great customer service, this is not your place.. . Update as of 1-21-19 - Once again called in advance for orange chicken to go. This time I tried to make it crystal clear that we wanted our food ready to pick up when I got there, not to start cooking it when I arrived. The lady on the phone, whose first language is clearly not English, promised that it would be ready in five minutes. So, I waited for about 10 minutes to get there. Once again it was not even started. I walked out this time. The lady screamed at me and followed me out the door. I would have gone next door to Little Caesars, but she was making quite a scene out on the sidewalk. I finally went back inside, paid for the chicken, and left. The orange chicken itself is not bad, but the customer service is horrible.
My Chinese roommate recommended this Chinese restaurant... And it is my belief that all Chinese (American) restaurants are garbage. I had a noodle dish with beef which I swear was spoiled. It seemed similar to Thai 'lad na'/'rad na'. I dined in during lunch; I was initially the only customer but the tables were dirty. I can understand how some perceive the cashier as rude; Asian immigrants tend to leave out the formalities ("Hello. How are you."). But when I walked in my thoughts were 'Is this place open? This place is very bare. Are they trying to save money? Or... Do they care about serving the best Chinese food experience they can create and share their cuisine with Americans and be proud of?' => No.

Worst customer service experience of my life multiple times but the food is okay. Brought a friend as a joke. The workers did not disappoint and were extremely rude. Honestly, it feels like going to one of those places that does it on purpose. Fried rice is good. It's really too bad
Customer service did not even exist. Would not give a cup of water even we ordered 2 full dinners. Must pay $3 for water. No mustard or sauce provided Spicy vegetables had no spice just salt. Will never goback.
Let me start off by saying that the food here is delicious. Very good food and for a decent price. With that being said, the lady working the counter is one of the most rude people I have ever come across in any form of customer service. She has a very heavy English accent and is very difficult to understand 90 percent of the time and Lord forbid you ask her to please repeat what she said because that is when she will release hell upon you. She is a master of yelling, eye-rolling and hanging up the phone on you while you ask how much the total will be and what time the food will be ready. Honestly this kind of behavior is obviously completely unacceptable and ridiculous. There is no reason for anyone to behave this way to respectful and paying customers. If you feel a certain way then maybe you should not be working in the food/customer service industry. Unless this lady magically improves her English for her own sake and ours over night, or if you speak her native language which I'm assuming is Mandarin then maybe do not come here unless you can get past the yelling, eye-rolling, phone hang-ups and otherworldly rude service.
Be Very careful if you even consider this place! She will "Bill Pad" your order. Does it all the time. Never gives an itemized receipt. And if you ask for one she will yell at you to go elsewhere! Truth! Over charges and the menu prices are wrong! Very mean lady with the Worst customer service. Don't go here!
Dont bother to dine in unless your going to serve everything yourself . After The server served our food- they gave no napkins, no silverware , no sauces, we had to retrieve our drinks ourselves. We got up multiple times to retrieve our own, then as we were looking for sauces And napkins got yelled at to stop asking for more. For carry out- call before you pick up. We saw 3-4 customers arrive to pick up their food and they told everyone another 20 mins athough they had already waited 30 mins. Food and portion sizes were good, but customer service and possibly arriving to pick up your food and its not ready is not worth the food youll get here.
Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I ordered the house egg foo yung, there was no rice or gravy. It just sat on top of a bed of zucchini, squash & big chunks of cabbage.. The omelette wasn’t an omelette, it was some kind of bread that looked like an omelette. It was disgusting. I was also over charged as other customers have mentioned. It should’ve been $14 but it was $16.32. I waited 30-35 mins too
Sweet and sour chicken? More like sweet gloop gristle! Even the gyoza was embarrassed and shrivelled. The $1.75 extra price fried rice was greasy with a smatter of egg and was somehow the only tolerable entity to consume.
