Kiko’s Seafood in Mission Valley absolutely delivers. These are hands down the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy, fresh, and loaded without being overdone. Get the OG Fish Taco. It sets the bar. The spicy shrimp taco is also a must and brings just the right kick without overpowering the flavor. What really stood out though was the owner. Super friendly and genuinely charitable. He gave us fish soup to try and even hooked us up with waters. That kind of hospitality says everything. No gimmicks. Just phenomenal seafood and great people. Did not disappoint.
Too bad, they ran out of octopus, but spicy shrimp is equally as good. Credit card payment is available
Amazing, amazing gem of find! Insanely good tacos, so good we came two days in a row! The seafood mix taco was a winner and so was the spicy fish ceviche! Generous portions and just EPIC flavours! Dulce and team were super friendly too and would give them a 6th star for their stellar service 🌟! Must must try!
The fish tacos were really good. Sadly, went after 6pm and all they had left were fish tacos. I wanted to try their shrimp tacos but a family before us bought everything else and left only their fish.
The best seafood! Its a good truck so you wouldn't think much of it but let me tell you, it's! the! best! I could eat here every single day. They have whole fried shrimp that just they best thing you'd have anywhere. I had the cocktail shrimp and omg! I eat everything in that cup. My husband even wanted to go back every day we were in SD.
I never take the time to write reviews but I have to admit I was very surprised with the quality and quantity of the food here! This is by far the best mariscos food truck I’ve had in San Diego in YEARS! The prices are not crazy like other places are, the food is amazing and fresh, the service was great and quick. I will be returning often.
This is a taco truck with amazing food and great service. I heard this place gets super crowded so we went at 10am on Tuesday. There was no wait and we parked behind the taco truck. While we waited for our food, the cashier gave us soup. It was great. We ordered the fish taco plate. It came with fresh tortilla chips that were out of this world. So crunchy and salty and delicious. The fish tacos were so soft and crunchy at the same time. I loved the orange and green sauces. The tortilla was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed every bite.
I had a stop by today to catch the taco fish deal that they offer on Tuesday, after all the compliments that I've heard from my classmates. It turned out that they have all different deals for the rest of the week so it's GREAT!. They are at the corner before you make a right turn to Mission Center street from Hazard Center street so don't miss the street parkings on Hazard Center right side. The guy staffs were quick, friendly, especially their manager named Jorge he talked to me for a while after learning that I came for the first time, he has great respect and nice customer service I've ever seen from all the street food vendors and taco trucks which I had. I had their 2 fish tacos and only paid the price of 1 and free soup. By the time I just finished my purchase the order was ready, that's so fast and impressive! They have lots of sauces and sides also seemed to be different to other taco trucks which I had before and especially they have spicy sauces for those who love the heat like me. The place was very clean and professional 👌, they seemed cleaning up all the time when I was there. I'm coming back for more options and humble, friendly staffs and great customer services and highly recommend for everyone!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kiko’s Fish Tacos is hands down one of the best food trucks I’ve ever eaten at! The fish is always fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right—crispy on the outside but tender and flavorful on the inside. The tortillas taste homemade, and the toppings bring everything together with just the right balance of crunch and freshness. The portions are generous, the prices are super fair, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. You can tell they really care about the food they serve and the people they serve it to. The manager Jorge was also really nice! If you’re anywhere near this truck, do yourself a favor and stop by—you’ll be hooked after the first bite. I've been coming here for years, and it's easily my favorite fish taco 🌮🐟🔥
Kikos is amazing. Been coming here since I was in high school. They have moved around a little bit but have settled at this location across the street from food 4 less and chick filet in mission valley. Never can go wrong with the OG fish tacos. Good portion size, decent price, tastes amazing. The seafood soup they give you while waiting is just divine. Always on point at Kikos. Staff are awesome and friendly. There is a little canopy if you want to eat there. My family and I just have a little car food party and eat our delicious tacos nearby. All in all, awesome food, amazing staff, really awesome experience every time.
This spot is my GO TO when it comes to fresh tasting, flavorful, best bang for your buck, baja style mexican food! It used to be my hidden gem, but now it seems the word has gotten out with 3 food truck locations and what apparently they are advertising as a physical location downtown..?! (Good for them!👍) I personally enjoy the food truck in Mission Valley. Listen some might argue with my on the "atmosphere" but I say what better than enjoying the most delicious mexican food, with authentic music, on the streets of beautiful & sunny San Diego! My wife and I will always get the grilled fish tacos, FULL of fresh fish! (I prefer mine with less seasoning since I'm a little more sodium conscious, but never have any problems ordering or recieving my tacos with the service staff). We also like to order and split what we believe is the best lime and cilantro flavored shrimp cevich e we've come across! 🍤 🤤 Highly recommend you give this place a shot whether you live here or have come to visit! 👍👍
Incredible value and delicious food! I was surprised at the generous portion size and quality of the food. I got the fish ceviche for $8 and it was huge! It was perfectly zesty and had a good chip to fish ratio. The plating was also a plus! The spicy shrimp burrito came out piping hot 🔥 and was also really yummy. Not overly spicy and great flavor. The vibes eating outside were definitely strange I saw a rat but it’s a truck on the side of the road what do you expect. Would definitely come back!
As long as Seafood is fresh and of the highest quality then all it needs is a few culinary touches and good atmosphere, to have an unforgettable meal, Kikos delivers just that!! Fresh fish fried in a light batter and made into a filling Baja style taco. Flash grilled fresh shrimp transformed into a taco on the move ever so light and filling. They are known for many other menu items and indeed there is much to try and explore unfortunately no time and only one stomach. Great and friendly service from everyone and an outstanding selection of free condiments.. the seared jalapeños and the orange smoked salsa is just outstanding!! Worth traveling halfway across the world for.
I came on a Saturday morning only to find out they were closed even though the website said they were opened. I called and apparently they were at the stadium that day, but there was no way to know that. I came back Sunday morning and had the OG Taco, a battered shrimp taco, and both the regular and spicy gobernador. The service was very slow but they do note that they make everything from scratch so it does take time. The tortillas fall apart, the battered shrimp was super salty, but overall the food was really good. The portions are very large but for $8 a taco, they should definitely be big! The staff were very friendly, my main issue is the eating area which is eating on top of a high voltage box that has a tent over it. There were ants and a rat nearby so Idk how clean and safe the area is.
Glad I tried it, but not worth the hype. Price I’m not the only one bothered by the price, judging by other reviews. For the size of the tacos, it’s expensive. I’ve seen recent pictures of the menu and the prices just keep creeping up. Atmosphere It’s a food truck on the side of the road. They have 3 tables and a tiny but of shade. Service They confused my order a bit, but otherwise it’s good. Food The Saturday special - shrimp and New York steak taco with cheese and bacon and avocado was very good. The fried shrimp taco was also decent. The fish ceviche seemed fresh. I wasn’t a fan of their fish tacos. Not much fish and pretty pricey. Don Bravo in La Jolla still makes the best fish tacos. Also thought that their tortillas in general didn’t taste that good. Would I recommend? Sure, it’s popular for a reason. Will I return? No, I don’t have a desire.
I would frequent them when I lived in Mission Valley for the fish tacos but now it seems like they're letting greed get a hold of them. Ended up paying $19 and some change for 3 OG fish tacos. Why the constant price hikes? I get that everything is expensive but at that price point I can just go to another competitor and get the same for much less. I remember it used to be around $12 for 3. The only deal would probably be coming on Tuesdays when they have their special.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 out of 5 It honestly pains me to leave a 3-star review. This was my first time visiting this food truck, and I came ready to support a local business. We placed a pretty good-sized order—3 fish tacos, 3 shrimp tacos, 2 sides of chips, and 1 drink—and we left a generous tip. I even attached our receipt to show this isn’t meant to be harsh, just an honest experience. When we arrived, there were about six people in front of us. I expected a wait, which ended up being 29 minutes. That didn’t bother me too much—if the food was as good as advertised, I figured it would be worth the time. Sadly, it just didn’t live up to the hype. The fish tacos were said to be made with fresh fish, but the batter was heavy and greasy. All I could taste was oil and coleslaw. The overall flavor was bland—no acidity, no seasoning, no balance. The shrimp tacos were the same story. The shrimp were chewy and overcooked under the batter. Honestly, if you didn’t know which was which, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the fish and the shrimp—just fried grease dominating everything. On top of that, the setup for customers could definitely use some care. There were only 3 or 4 stand-up tables and 2 canopies for shade. While I waited for my order, I noticed several elderly customers with walkers also standing around with nowhere to rest. It was uncomfortable and honestly a bit disheartening to see. If they invested some effort into the area where people wait and eat—especially for those who might need to sit—it could make a huge difference. A more welcoming and comfortable space could really help attract and retain customers. I really hate leaving critical reviews, especially for small businesses. But this wasn’t a cheap meal, and it didn’t feel like it was made—or served—with much love. I hope this is taken as constructive feedback. I want to see this place succeed, but there’s room for improvement.
I was really hungry and excited for my favorite fish tacos but I made a mistake. This is not the same Kiko’s truck as the one next to the gas station on Friars and Fashion Valley Road. That kiko’s was amazing. The creamy cilantro sauce at this location was salty and not creamy at all. The fish was not as fresh. The batter was under cooked on the inside. Worst of all the cabbage looked unwashed. See images. I also paid $27.27 for 4 fish tacos and tip. There was a .75 credit card charge which is fine. I was sad they didn’t offer me any soup like the other place. 2 stars because it was filling but not great.
I had a very disappointing experience. Even though there were not many people, no one came to the order window for about 5 minutes. I had to go to the pickup window just so someone could take my order. The woman who helped me was on a phone call on speaker, with inappropriate language being heard. I was also told they only accept cash or card, even though there was a sign saying they accept Apple Pay, so I had to leave and come back with my card. When I returned, she was still on the phone. The food came out in a reasonable time, but they forgot my agua fresca and I had to remind them. At the end, I noticed another customer waiting to order with no one at the window again. As for the food, the tacos were nothing special. Overall, poor service and organization.
Just ordered a shrimp cocktail. Disgusting. There were literally 6 shrimps for 20$ + tips. Juice is way over-salted, the rest of the cup was cucumber and onion. They used to do that better. I’ve got feeling that Nachos were fried in an oil that was not changed for at least few years. Will never got back here.
The food price is not the issue it’s that for the same increased price the portion size and what you get in the crazy ceviche has gone down. I ordered two crazy ceviche and both had no oysters when last year it had two of them, not to mention the quantity of the seafood used to be overflowing and could last two meals but now it looks like mostly cucumber and is what I’d expect for 17$ but the old amount is worth the 27$ price tag. I’m saddened to make this review after having many great ceviche experiences this one killed it for me.
