Opinions de Los Primos San Diego
This is now my favorite sushi spot! I order sushi from here about once a week and have loved it every time!
Honestly, this was some of the best freaking sushi I have had in a while. I am traveling for work from Manhattan and I can’t get fish this fresh and delicious for under $120 and even then portions are miniscule. Absolutely blown away, stuffed, and dreaming of more for under $75
Update 2 years later and still going to this sushi spot. They did move next door, one door down and downsized. But it is a lot cozier! Met the new owner and he was very nice. I’m pretty sure he was one of the chefs before taking over! Sushi came out fresh and quick! Happy hour deal is worth it! Support your local sushi restaurant and small business! Will be back again!
Every time I go here I feel like family. The staff is SO friendly and I feel so much positive energy while I'm there. The food is exceptional! The owner has recommended several dishes and I'm blown away each time. 10/10 all day every day.
My Japanese GF and I like this restaurant. She says it feels more like a Japanese restaurant than most even though Koreans run the restaurant. The staff is very nice and attentive. The food is more authentic than most in the area. The prices aren't bad. The fish seems fresh and of good quality. They have a large menu with Japanese and Korean options. I had a fish special on my first visit and specialty roles last time. They have several Ramen options but I'll wait for cooler weather to try those.
You guys! Just let me breath a bit...! This place was delicious! Service was incredible! We ordered 4 specialty rolls(crunchy roll, sunny roll, dragon roll and a salmon roll), 2 miso soups, 1 unfiltered sake and the bill was $55! I can’t believe I had never been here before! This place is great.
One of our favorite launch places to go. You buy one and get one for 50% off. All sushi is half off but price is bit jacked up. Still a good deal. Good deal on drinks also. Food is good. The add vegis to most of the dishes which I actually like.
This is our regular sushi place. Not fancy, just good food, good reasonable portion size, and very good prices (excellent if you go during 2-for-1 hours). Sometimes the service staff is stretched thin but they work hard. For my regular place, I prefer the lower prices like Ginza rather than beautiful décor and being over-serviced.
The most nicest people I have ever met very friendly very nice. I love the fusion of Korean food and sushi with bento boxes they have in the restaurant. I especially love the music in the restaurant too. The Korean food was amazing. I highly recommend the 뚝배기 불고기 (hotpot bulgogi). 잘 먹었습니다. 감사합니다!
SUPER nice, even with COVID-19 restrictions putting stress on everyone!! Also, quick service. Ordered a large meal for 1 and they had it all ready in 10 minutes. Plus they were having a special on their sushi!! Always a plus. :)
Absolute best sushi I've ever had. The service is amazing and the chef is awesome and super nice. Great atmosphere as well and always nice music playing. Definitely recommend to those who want real sushi in sunny California.
There are no other venues that can compare to Ginza. Whether it's their Sushi, the MANY Ramen offerings or the Korean cuisine. It's all beyond good. I've never been to a location where I've enjoyed so many things. We have become such regulars that we've gotten to know the owner and can call the manager a good friend! BTW, try the Soju!
In the next few months the owner will be changing. Have been in there more then a few times. Has spoken to one of the owners, he very friendly and good sense of humor and had us laughing hard! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I highly recommend!
Excellent sushi and Korean food with friendly service. Great combination of a wide range of we'll known Japanese sushi and bento and other options, along with an excellent selection of Korean food. The have a buy one, get one 1\2 of option on their menu that makes it easy to have a great meal at reasonable prices. Recommended!
I ordered delivery from this place on grubhub and let's just say I got a really interesting first impression... The delivery driver couldn't find my place, so I literally had to come outside, downstairs, across an entire parking lot, out of a driveway and wait on a corner making a pathetic attempt to give the driver directions. THEN once I saw his car he still could find me so I literally jumped up and down doing jumping jacks on that Street corner (yes in front of random neighbors i haven't met yet) but he was so nice and sweet I couldn't be mad and it was cold outside so I just wanted my food lol (sorry to the delivery driver if I sounded rude, I was cold & hungry). I couldn't wait to rate this place on grubhub because the sushi still tastes incredibly fresh and perfect even after the driver got so lost. (I just moved here and do not know the area so u know it took forever for me to get my order) After two bites my attitude completely flipped. The fish is literally perfect in my opinion. I really like this place, and will definitely be ordering from Ginza Sushi as often as possible! Sorry for the long story :)
Every time we eat here, it's amazing. Tony is the ultimate host and always elevates our experience to the next level. We bring all our guests here and they love it!
I ordered online so I could pick up on my lunch/dinner break. They close at 9pm. I was late taking my break. I called and they answered really quickly. I apologize for not being there before closing, and he still let me come pick it up and pay in store. The food was wonderful. Prices are good. I will keep going there for sure. Thank you so much once again.
This place has been one of my must-visit spots every time I'm in the San Diego area, and it never disappoints! Every dish I’ve tried here has been consistently delicious, making each visit a memorable experience. This time, we enjoyed the spicy pork and fish cake soup, and both were fantastic! The spicy pork had a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and salty flavors but was less sugary than what you’d typically find at other Korean restaurants—making it feel healthier while still being incredibly tasty. The fish cake soup was an absolute highlight! It instantly transported me back to the flavors of my childhood in Korea. I’ve tried making this kind of fish cake soup at home to recreate the nostalgic taste of the street food I grew up with, but I’ve never quite succeeded. This restaurant, however, nailed it! I was so happy to finally enjoy that authentic flavor again. Beyond the amazing food, the service was warm and welcoming. We arrived just after opening on a Sunday, and despite there being only one server handling multiple tables, she was incredibly friendly, efficient, and attentive. If you're craving authentic Korean flavors with a cozy and inviting atmosphere, this spot is a must-visit! Whether you’re reminiscing about home-cooked Korean meals or simply looking for a delicious and satisfying dining experience, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend it!
I've gotten takeaway from here twice within the past week. I've mainly ordered regular basic rolls and they've been really good. The fish was fresh tasting. My only comments would be that at times the size of the rolls can be a bit inconsistent. My wife commented that the rice was a bit vinegary but I love that so it's her loss. The second time there was an error with the order but they handled it very well. The prices are great for happy hour as they are fifty percent off which is really great value for money. I always try and base a sushi place by their california roll and here for $4.50 the quality was very good. It looked like a decent place inside with lots of space and a cosy atmosphere. I'm happy to have given this place a try as I'll definitely be keeping it on the list of go to places when I'm hankering some decent sushi. RB sushi always used to hold that spot but their prices went up quite a bit recently.
We have been going here for years but the first time during the pandemic. They have more items on the menu. Our server was super nice and attentive. Enjoyed our delicious dinner.
Great food at a great price everything was delicious and came quickly after ordering. All in all a wonderful experience and would highly recommend.
I have been coming here for the last 5 years to order the Korean soon tubu (tofu stew) best in north county. I come at least once a week and I have also lost 21 lbs eating soon tubu and sweet green salads. Today I tried the hot stone bibimbap. The bibimbap is not as large in quantity as some places, definitely a portion for one but it's very good. As for the tofu stew, I get either beef or pork which is fire roasted, very fatty and melts in your mouth. They also have jajangmyeon and of course sushi.
Dinner out with friends and it didn't disappoint. Service was good. Our sushi rolls came out very fast and were delicious.
Great dinner. The owners were very gentle and the food amazing. Gyoza, spring rolls, miso soup everything was delecious. Definitely I’ll come back
Great sushi, real sweet staff. Sushi chef was attentive and quick considering it was a Saturday night.
These were very tasty rolls! Thank you very much.

These were very tasty rolls! Thank you very much.
My husband is a "fish snob" but even he agreed that the 50% off happy hour rolls are a good value. (He would not eat any low-quality fish even if it was free.) He orders Korean dishes which he says are pretty good too. I'm there for the happy hour rolls!
We were recommended to Ginza and it’s is good and fresh, we love it so much this is our 2nd time in less then a week! Picante roll is so good if you like spice! The monkey brain 10/10 We have never tried anything like it anywhere else. And the stuffed jalapeños deli deli! Abel the Chef has amazing customer service and makes every roll an experience! So flavorful! The food was so good I didn’t get a chance to take a picture! For sure my top places to come and have a nice clean sushi in such a comfortable atmosphere.
Good sushi, attentive service without being too attentive, and very reasonably priced. They could use better signage or brighter windows. Darkened curtains made it looked closed.
Excellent customer service and really great sushi(even better prices). I come here every day and they always have food out really quickly. This is a must try
This is our go-to sushi place. My husband loves the Korean beef rib stew. All the sushi is fantastic and the warm sake is so nice when it’s chilly outside.
Love this place, they have the best happy hour!

Absolutely amazing food! This is much more than just 'good sushi' this is an assortment of fresh seafood with extremely high attention to detail. The best dish we had here was the braised pork belly.it was fatty and tender, with an amazing apple/fennel sauce.
Good food, good service, variety of food options from Ramen Bowls to Bento Boxes to Korean dishes. My family and I dine their 2 to 4 times per month. Prices are fair and the sushi rolls are good.
Sushi was decent. Seemed like much smaller rolls than what I'm use to. Sweet Hawaiian was good. Cute atmosphere. Hand rolls wer $4 so there was value there. Rolla were cold. Service was fast and friendly. 2 beers, 3 hand rolls, 1 Cali roll and 2 special rolls ...$68.
Great sushi!! What caught my eye was the salmon sushi lunch and it was delicious. The sashimi has huge pieces of salmon. I hosted a group of 20 there and the owner was super nice and welcoming. Everyone that got sushi loved their food but one of my friends said they didn't like their vegetable fried rice. I like that there's Japanese and Korean food so there should be a dish for everyone. Definitely recommend coming here.
Clean and fast restaurant. Unagi Bowl is amazing and it come with a salad with house dressing - made by J it is a delicious gingery yummy dressing. Minus 1 star because the BAR sign was crooked and my OCD was flaring up😂

I came here a few years ago, and the food was poor. The prices were right but the flavor was not. Fast forward to now, The prices are still great and the service was very nice. I can also tell you the flavor definitely improved! The appetizers were awesome, especially the jalapeno poppers . But I have to give it 3 stars because, the main meal was just ok. The flavor was not bad, it was just a bit bland. If the main dishes were more flavorful I could definitely give this higher marks.
Sushi tasted good. Ramen is bad. It is definitely instant noodles cooked in some kind of broth. So I learned my lesson not to eat ramen or anything that's not sushi here. Honestly, the whole place is kind of depressing looking overall. I will not come back for sure.
The food (sushi) & service were ok, but the table grossed me out. (The raw fish was good (!), but other food served was just fair. For instance, if being picky, both the rice & ginger were good, but not up to sushi quality. The rice was dry, not as fresh plump & steamy & moist, as it should be & the pickled ginger was cut too thick. The dark table was set with 4 napkins & very good chop sticks, so had been prepared in advance, but the dark table top was obviously not clean. It was smeared with something that looked & felt greasy & tacky. The bench seat had a huge old hole, so noone should have been seated there, but the table certainly should not be set for 4, as one person would be sitting in a hole. There is no excuse for such shabby & dirty seating. It was not that busy. There were many many other tables available, including in another side room, but that is where the sushi chef guided the server to seat us. Felt very disrespected. The food was acceptible, but the seating ruined my experience. I will not go back. Might be ok for takeout.
Very disappointed. Sushi was just ok, but I'm VERY sensitive to MSG, and I've never had a sushi place use it. I'm not positive they did but I know what it's like when I eat it and my heart was racing for an hour after I ate the food and that's exactly what happens when I eat MSG. Take that for what it's worth, you can ask if they use it, I've never thought to since it's sushi, but I do when I order Chinese food.
We came here for dinner quite often before covid. After covid: service is very slow (the young waitress is unfriendly and a cold fish), the food quality and quantity is no longer acceptable. For example, the seafood/tofu soup is a joke: two tiny shrimps, one tiny and one midsized mussel and very little tofu. The side dishes (Korean style) are now down to three from six before. Basically, I ate rice and had a soup without much inside. I can no longer recommend this place. Very, very disappointed. And, of course, the price is now much higher, too, but for a fraction of pre-covid quality/quantity.
Raises toward Mexican people we came in never did we get served only water we given a white family walks in they serve accommodate them we were totally ignored never going back.. worst service ever ZERO Rateing
-Sushi is pretty good and not too pricey. -Ramen is bad. -Manager/Owner Rude I ordered beef miso ramen. It tasted like water that had greasy beef thrown into it. I told the server I didn't care for it. Later the manager comes over. No greeting. "So you don't like your ramen" "No, I don't like it" "Next time order what you want" He walks away. Later he returns with the bill. they took the ramen off the bill. He stands there awkwardly as we use the credit card machine. "Is this the first time you had miso ramen?" In my head I'm thinking... Well I did live in Asia for 3 years and ate Ramen all the time. I am married to an Asian woman who loves Asian food. Then I just said... "No" Now I will say no to this restaurant forever.
Got our order wrong and server wasnt very attentive, food tasted bland and was definitely served store bought ramen packs.
19nov24 Came in about 2;15 or so ordered a Sapporo and some nigiri; tuna, yellowtail, ikura (salmon eggs) and albacore. Served salmon instead of yellowtail which I did nor eat. (I do not eat salmon unless I trust the place). Tuna looked ok but had no taste ( had better from grocery store), yellowtail did not look fresh (brown on one end), albacore same as yellowtail and ikura was not fresh. Guy behind the bar was waiting tables and taking money With no hand washing in between. He saw me smelling fish and assured me it was ok not fresh but ok. He could have at least cut off the brown parts. I ordered a hot sake and for the first time I think ever did not finish more than 1 cup as it was nasty. I know hot sake is American but I like it I can never remember not finishing my sake. It took a long time to get my check as he was talking to someone else at a table as in sitting down and visiting and was annoyed when I asked for a check. I told him his fish was not good and his sake was bad and he said sorry but people like the sake and I said good this one is almost full this is your tip. Better food is to be found at the Carls Jr across the parking lot.
I was super excited to eat here but I quickly found out it would not be as good as I’d hoped. At first I walked in and was told to sit down, only for 10-15 minutes to go by and the server comes up and asked if we were ready. We didn’t even get the menu, it seemed like the server was very attentive to every other person but us. Eventually after getting the menus another 10 minutes went by and we finally got the chance to order. So overall the service was not great at all. With that being said I figured maybe it’s just one of those days. But when we got our food there was a hair in the sushi… so unappetizing that we couldn’t continue eating. I notice neither chef was wearing a hairnet, nor gloves and they were touching all different types of foods with their bare hands. Just overall a disgusting experience. I found got the server’s attention and told the issue and it was taken off the bill which is nice but I will definitely never be coming back here again.
This used to be a 5 star go-to sushi place. But something changed and this place tanked. Will never go back. They used to have dinner specials with very large high quality sashimi portions which came with miso, salad, and another side. Now, they don't offer it. The rolls are "half price" because they mark up the price to $28... What??? Who is going to fall for that gimmick? The portions are now very small. The miso soup has NO seaweed in it at all. They were out of nigori sake. They were out of draft beer. And take a look at this picture....It is supposed to be a rainbow roll...wow.
