Opinions de Fig Tree Cafe San Diego
Went here for brunch with my boyfriend. We walked in on a busy Sunday and waited about 25 minutes, which honestly wasn’t bad. I really love their menu — they have great gluten-free and vegan options, plus plenty of choices for different dietary restrictions. I always get the Meatloaf Pesto Potato Scramble, and my boyfriend ordered the Chipotle Chilaquiles. Both were so good. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a solid last-minute brunch in San Diego.
Cute little cafe in Liberty Station. Service was friendly and attentive but also allowed us time to chat and never made us feel rushed or forced out (even though it was a Sunday around brunch time). Drinks are a little small for the price you pay but that's life these days folks. If you want a bloody Mary for brunch, you gotta suck it up. The ricotta and fig jam French toast is divine! I enjoyed it so much I ended going to their sister location the following day to have it again. (You keep those judgmental thoughts to yourself). I would definitely give this place (at any of their locations) a try.
Came here for brunch on a Thursday 11:30am and there was no wait, we got our food pretty fast! The short rib sandwich I had was really good, the upgrade to garlic fries was a good call. My gf had the chorizo omelet which was great and instead of toast we tried the lemon ricotta pancake and that was delicious. Brittney and Ben helped us out and were attentive and friendly!
Fig Tree Cafe is the original restaurant sister of Breakfast Republic. Both places are very good but Fig Tree Cafe is more reasonable on the prices and a more casual place. The food was pretty solid for a brunch place especially for the price. My only complaint was that the brisket on my brisket benedict was not hot.
Wow! This place is amazing. Each meal was surprisingly flavorful in each aspect. We have been vacationing here and hit some of the top rated restaurants. As I ate the food I thought my tastebuds were failing me. Everything was bland. Then I came here and was assured that my tastebuds are just fine. Such good food and it was quick to come to the table.
Pretty awesome brunch. Their breakfast burrito was delicious! We arrived at a very popular time which came with an hour wait, but the hostess recommended ordering and sitting at the outside tables. Following her recommendation we ended up waiting 15 minutes for our food and she even took the time to shine with superior customer service by offering drinks and a little table service to us. Their prices are good especially considering how delicious everything tasted. Overall if you’re looking for a tasty breakfast this place does not disappoint.
Very nice place for a brunch !! Hearty selections. Food was delish. We had a couple of vegetarians in our group but they were able to make selections. The service was excellent- very friendly staff. We went during a long weekend and had to wait 30 mins to get a table assigned for our group of 5. Will be there again soon.
Came here after a Conference with a table of 7-8 ppl. It was a Saturday so it was an hour wait. Luckily its in Liberty station with benches, shade and tables to sit and wait. We ordered grilled turkey club, 3 types of egg Benedict (salmon, Canadian ham and short rib braised beef), 2 x Shrimp Fritatas, side of man candy bacon and truffle fries. Also a Mimosa and Bloody Mary! All food came out in timely manner, waters were continuously refilled. Service was polite. But they had 2 co ed restrooms. All in all...what a wonderful brunch with the ladies!
I definitely my husband and I were driving to the other location, but this location was great. Dog-friendly with dog specific food items available; chicken, bacon, eggs. Our dog had the chicken which was probably a whole cup of chunked chicken. He loved it. We had the sparkling and juice ($27) for 3 mimosas each. I had the vegan bennie and my husband had the American breakfast with “man candy” 😂. I’m not vegan, but primarily vegetarian. I was not a fan of the hollandaise as it tasted like straight mayo and there was so much. The chorizo didn’t taste like chorizo flavor, just plain veg crumbles. I did really like the cauliflower patties that were in place of the english muffins. My husband’s was delicious, and the man candy was SO good! It’s not crunchy, but very soft, coated with a brown sugar and paprika mixture. The atmosphere is wonderful. If you’re looking for brunch vibes this is the place.
Service was great , food delicious, what more could you ask for? Try them out now! Ordered spicy chicken sandwich , chilaquiles, steak and eggs , omelet , eggs Benedict.

Great coffee. Great place to meet friends for breakfast. Had the vegetable omelette (made with egg whites) and fruit. Vegetables are all great and the goat cheese is great.
Food was really good, I got the apple fritter pancakes with bacon and eggs, pancakes were great but could have used another sauce or more syrup, a tiny container was included. Service was friendly but the place was insanely busy and I didn't get even one refill on my coffee, only saw the server again to pay the bill. Waited about 35 minutes for a party of 2 at about 11 on a Saturday.
The place was nice they were a little busy when we arrived. The servers were a little slow coming to take our order once we were settled down but after that, they found their footing I was thinking about not going back but I will just to see if the next time is better than the first time.
A very fun (and delicious) brunch. My wife had the gluten free french toast which she loved, my one son had french toast and another had a kid’s pancake that came out as Mickey Mouse which was a very fun touch. We asked for an extra side of Bacon they call “Man Candy” which has a lot of potential but was ultimately soggy and missed the mark. Making candied spiced bacon (their attempt at it) isnt hard, they just need to work on it a little more. I had the steak and eggs which was solid. The atmosphere was fun and the service was great. It got extremely busy on a Sunday after 10, so try to get in a little earlier!
This is a solid restaurant with good food and almost always a wait on the weekends. We showed up around 10am on a Sunday and had to wait about 20 minutes. The food is better than a fast-food diner but doesn't have the same level of authenticity and freshness that I was seeking. The fig jam French toast is delicious but too sweet, while the breakfast burrito was good but needed a little more to it. The service was good and it's a great place for large groups and the whole family!

Amazing location and nice atmosphere. The meal was nice but didn’t love it. Got a juice which was expensive and again mediocre. Would not be in a rush to re visit unfortunately.

"I'm glad you got that off your chest." Is what the manager said to my wife when, after the meal and after we paid, she told him her food came out cold, and not cooked correctly. We have been coming here for years (over a decade now??)when we visit the area. She was just trying to let the manager know. Pretty sure we are never coming back. I never expect things to be perfect when eating out. I do expect the waiter to fix any issues with food coming out of the kitchen and for the manager to be respectful. The correct response would have been, "Thank you for letting me know, we will address it immediately. Please know this is not normal service and please come back again." If you own this joint, fire that manager. They are not retrainable.
