My review is based on take out. I’m from Haitian-Brooklyn. So I was nervous coming here thinking it wouldn’t be good. But the food was delicious. The staff is friendly and service was smooth. I ordered Griot and diri djon djon (fried pork and mushroom rice ) paid $30. It’s a lot of food. You won’t be mad I love the fact they fry the griot when you order and it’s not just siting in warmer. It tasted nice and fresh. They give a nice amount of sauce which was real tasty. The rice was full of flavor. They definitely have a the Haitian flavors. They have seating for those who wants to dine in. Looks quiet and clean. You have to go up the stairs to get into the restaurant. So if you drive by and don’t see much activity in front just keep that in mind. I will definitely be back.
It was our first time to eat at this Haitian restaurant and we loved the food we ordered. We had the Bouillon soup and it became an instant favorite. We also had their fried plantains and pikilz and it goes really well with our food. We also had the jerk chicken and rice and beans and it's really really sumptuous and hearty. We will definitely come back.
Everything we tried was amazing. My dad grew up in Haiti and he shared that the beans and rice tasted like home, and exactly how his mom made them! I can't say I have seen him this excited in a long time. We had plantains, Haitian spaghetti, and the jerk chicken with beans and rice. Along with a Malta and Passion fruit juice. The people were very kind and attentive. All food was very fresh and delicious. My niece who is often particular about what she will eat enjoyed the Haitian spaghetti. I loved the Haitian jerk chicken. If I had the room I would have eaten it all there. This in mind the portions were generous which aligns with the relative cost. When we went in end of July 23' the downstairs area was not open. They may have been doing some work or we just went in the wrong entrance to see this part. All of this to say I would call ahead to check as the stairs would have been tough for my grandmother who uses aids to walk sometimes. My pictures don't do it justice, I have a horrible camera for my phone. Also we got so excited by the aromas I forgot to take a picture until we had already begun digging in.
Sooo good wow! Highly recommend this place. My first Haitian food experience and I’m so happy about it all. Everything was amazing. So fresh and made with love.
I adore this restaurant so much! No frills, straight to the point Haitian cuisine made with love! The husband and wife owners are so lovely and make you feel right at home. My favorite dishes to eat here are the Griot, Haitian Jerk Chicken and the Legume. Firstly, their Griot is so well prepared. You can just taste the labor of love that they put into the meal. You can taste that the meat has been cleaned properly, with citrus notes throughout. And the pork is seasoned and fried to perfection! Nice crispy exterior with the pork still juicy and tender. Perfection! The Haitian Jerk chicken was such a pleasant surprise! I expected something similar to how Jamaicans do theirs, but the version they serve here is more like a stewed chicken that is seasoned to the Gods! It's like something your mom would throw in the crock pot and let simmer for hours. MUST TRY! And lastly, the Legume stew was so rich and layered in flavor! Nicely seasoned cuts of meat, stewed in vegetables like Okra, carrot and other delicious components that made this stew amazing! All my side dishes were also tasty. Their rice and peas are almost a meal of their own, and the pikiliz always taste so fresh and tangy, with the perfect amount of spice. All in all, this is an amazing restaurant that I recommend to anyone. Your taste buds will thank you 😊
I love it here the food was soo good the service was amazing i got the whole fish and it was soooo good a filling. The chef greeted us after and i love to see it will be coming back when im in town again
The staff is helpful and attentive. They created a vegan version of the legumes for us. The plantains were so fresh and the presentation was appealing.
I took a look at the 1 star comments and it’s clear that people don’t try to understand one’s culture. Being from the Caribbean we cook our foods differently and some like it some don’t and that’s because they don’t appreciate one’s culture. My experience was good, the food was good as well as the service, I’ve lived in San Diego for a year and i really miss being home and this place helped with my homesickness. The feel of it as soon as I stepped into the establishment. If you understand the culture and enjoy different food I advised anyone to try them they are good.
My brother and I visit about every month. I’m so glad we found this place ! It’s like going to visit your grandma for dinner. The food takes some time but when you get it, you will remember why you came ! The fried chicken with sauce and rice and beans are my favorite . My brother loves the fried fish .The one star reviews were clearly bitter customers.
Great Haitian restaurant and the woman who owns it is super friendly. The food was great and I can’t wait to take my Haitian family here when they visit me in Cali.

This place is amazing. Have a haitian friend who grew up in haiti and agreed its the real deal. A lot of comments are complaining about the slow service. But the place is ran by an older couple and their relatives so you need to come to this place when you have the time. The fried fish stew was out of this world, and so was the jerk chicken!!!!
Delicious food within walkable distance from home. Pleasure to try Haitian food. I got the jerk chicken and husband got the oxtail. Food was fresh and tasted authentic. The spices came together nicely in the jerk chicken and it gave the broth a kick which I liked. I would recommend this place and I like the Mom and Pop feel.
This restaurant is one of the best in town. The food has a unique taste. We, the whole family, ordered different food and had a taste from each other plate. We had fish, goat, chicken, plantain, and mixed rice. Everything was outstanding. The people are very nice. Highly recommended with five stars.

Great food. The chicken was not dry at all, and the amount of rice I got was enough for 2 people. The passion fruit juice was super sweet.
When I came in I could smell 🌬 👃the 🇭🇹Haitian food immediately being from 🏖Miami I know what to 😎 expect. On entry the music 🎶 is loud but is section off to the dance 💃 🕺 side of the very clean 🧽 restaurant. Yes the location outside is what we expect in our community with all the homelessness in the area. Once inside sitting towards the kitchen of the restaurant the music wasn’t as loud and started to feel like a vibe😎. The waitress was good and I even got to speak with one of the chefs 🧑🏾🍳. I didn’t like the fact that everything on the menu wasn’t available everyday 😔. I was really looking forward to trying the Ox 🐂 tail but I guess that gives me a reason to come back on Sunday’s. I decided to try the jerk chicken, griot and beef patties. Jerk chicken wasn’t the hottest and had a lot of flavor. I enjoyed it the most with the mixed rice. The griot was almost fall off the bone with flavor and tender. Most griot I have had had not been cooked in that fashion but I think she did it like that to be more accepted to the local community. Non the less great as well. The beef Pattie’s wasint what I expected but this is a Haitian restaurant so don’t expect a Jamaican one. It nice to have a Caribbean restaurant in our neighborhood as an option and I hope more are on the way. 8 out of 10! The jerk chicken alone will have me back on Sunday.

Beware!! Prices are not the same as on the menu. When checking out if you're even given an itemized receipt there will be a difference. Food quality is not as good as it was in the past. I like to support this business so, I did not want to leave a less than excellent review. But it's happened one too many times. Probably paid a $30 difference today. Update the menu or honor the prices posted.
$75 for two plates of food because we were dressed nice but the bummy looking couple next to us received the family discount or they just got menu prices we were expecting. Took awhile and the older Haitian lady is racist to non Haitians. Too bad because we don't have many options here but honestly y'all you can find better Haitian food in Tijuana made by Haitians with integrity who are not racist.
I love to support my own people and never leave reviews but the service was very slow and I waited 1 hours for dried fried chicken and plantain and was charged 29.07 when I questioned it they said that was the price.i will never go here again if I want chicken I will go to Popeyes down the street. This was horrible I give 0 stars if I could. Everything went in the trash because I don't eat just anything, I eat good food. I went to Toyoko sushi down the street and it was great. They must be writing there own reviews. You will be disappointed if you go here. I ate everywhere else around here and I didn't have any complaints. I eat and understand Caribbean restaurants in this is not the culture that I'm used to the food it but here it is horrible these people are giving their own reviews after they get 1 negative - it's followed with all five stars they create dishes take pictures of it and post it to keep people coming. Poor locals think that this place is a good Haitian restaurant. As a Haitian born in Haiti and raised in Miami, this place is horrible. The food stinks, the portion is crazy(15 pieces of plantains and 4 griot????) and overall poor customer service. When I asked why the portion was this way the lady said “welcome to Cali”. Of course i had to remember this is California so that already said a lot. Wish i could give it 0 stars.
I ordered from this restaurant and the items on my receipt did not match the prices on the menu. The griot says $18 on the menu and the receipt says $20. When I finally received my order after a long wait, I checked the griot and I received 4 pieces of griots and they packed the plate all with rice. They over charge and the food taste bad. This place should not be open.

I came on a Friday, 6:11pm to be exact. I drove 30 minutes to get here, on Google and on yelp it said that this location was open. When I got to the location, it was closed. I end up walking over to the hotel that's next-door to it, they told me they're not sure when this place is ever open. It's only open potentially maybe once a month, I just wish that they would update their business hours so that I can go when they're open. When this places open, I would love to try it the photos look good, but I never got a chance to actually taste it.
