Miguel's on Point Loma, the food is excellent with great service. We fly here for our anniversary from Wisconsin. This is one of my favorite places to come. (our 14th yr flying here). Will not disappoint.
It’s hard to find better Mexican food than at any of the taco shops in San Diego, and this is no exception. But when you want to eat at a full-service restaurant instead of takeout, Miguel’s is great. Friendly fast professional service, good food, and they start you off with good ole chips and salsa (both traditional red and cheese salsa). Upstairs outdoor patio is perfect when the weather’s nice (most of the time). Lots of gluten-free options and they’re all labeled.
I have gone to visit many times! The food is always delicious. Great micheladas. Great location! The staff is always on point with offering extras and refills. We look forward to visiting many times. It never disappoints.
Such a beautifully decorated restaurant! cozy and welcoming restaurant! Our server Cesar was extremely attentive and friendly. Suggested Carne Verde and we loved it. Tender pork, tangy/delicious green salsa. The rice and the beans were yummy! freshly made with quality ingredients. Tortillas made from scratch daily! Definitely recommended!
Here’s a polished, natural-sounding edit while keeping your tone warm and genuine: I loved it. If you’re looking for a place that truly values great service, delicious food, and friendly people who offer a warm welcome, this is it. We went there after a nice hike in Point Loma, and Cesar was incredibly kind. A great place overall!
"Dinner?" Sure, what do you feel like? "How about Mexican?" I know just the place! And off we went to Miguel's Cocina. Having been there a few times before and this time I had the Camarones Jalisco and my date had chicken fajitas. Ruth, our server, brought their famous home made warm cheese dip and some of their in house made chunky salsa while be perused the extensive menu. The food came as described and was hot, smelled fantastic and tasted even better. Ruth stopped by several times to make certain our dinner was being enjoyed and ask if we needed anything. The only thing you will need is help down the stairs from eating too much and heavy to go box because the large, generous portions are a challenge to finish in one setting. Come hungry! Hands down the best Mexican food in San Diego!
Friendly staff, quickly greeted us at the entrance. I was barely on my 3rd tortilla chip when, wham! The food was ready to be enjoyed. Quick service...attentive staff. Awesome view of the bay. We got the veggie enchiladas and mole tacos. It was a decent sized plate. Definitely will come back again.
This reminds me of the Mexican restaurants that were staples in California in the 70s and 80s. The food was excellent. The Albondigas soup is like my grandma used to make. The Chile rellano was savory but not spicey, the carne asada tacos were full of flavor, the mini taquitos were as I remember as a kid, the guacamole was smooth, creamy, and full of avocado chunks. The coco pina mixed drink was full of coconut flavor and poured heavy. Chips were crisp, and the salsa was just the right texture and spice. The atmosphere was terrific, and the service was attentive. Ample seating with screens to watch sports. Most of the seating is upstairs, and the bar is also there. There is some seating downstairs.
Coconut waffles at brunch were outstanding. Full of flavor and topped off with fruit and powdered sugar. The eggs, bacon and potatoes were also great on this packed out plate. Apparently they are known for their cheese dip, and now I know why. Also, the salsa is the best I have ever had in any restaurant. Absolutely fantastic meal with great atmosphere as well.
The ambience, food, drinks and dessert were all up to the mark. Their habanero salsa, please ask for it, is HOT. I could only take a small dip, my mouth was on fire, but in a good way. We ordered grilled chicken tacos, shrimp tacos and sword fish tacos. For appetizers, order the ceviche and you won't be disappointed. Their pineapple tamale was not cloyingly sweet and hit the spot. Their pomegranate sangria was festive and for someone who never finishes a glass, I had it all..
Our restaurant experience was truly exceptional. We adored the interior decor, and our waitress was incredibly attentive. It was a family lunch outing, and we were thoroughly impressed by both the food and service. I'd definitely recommend it, though it might not be the best choice for vegans, but they do offer some customization options. The spacious and inviting atmosphere added to the enjoyment of our dining experience.
The food is good especially when our flights just arrived in late afternoon, have good price and quick service became important. My boys ordered brunch very American, I ordered Mexican food that is why I picked there. I like it very much. The veggie and cheese wrapped by squid with rice and beans covered by melted cheese. Taste good.

We chose to eat her while staying on Shelter Island. Great location, easy parking and really good food. Honestly I ate an embarrassing amount of queso with the chips. I would easily come back here …
POSITIVE: Food was very good and we didn't have to wait long for it. The server was attentive and polite. The atmosphere was good. NEGATIVE: The young lady, a shorter brunette maybe 5'01", who ushered us to the table said and I quote, "you three follow me." Our party was a mature one with people in their 50's and older. I believe she can be educated in treating guests properly.
Not the best Miguel's we've been to. All in all it was a decent experience but their queso was watered down and virtually flavorless in comparison to other Miguel's we've visited. Price was fair for what we got. The meatball soup was delicious. Nacho's left a bit to be desired but were not horrible. Drinks were ok but the mule was not mixed properly and tasted fairly bland as well. Margarita was over sweetened. I would give them a try again as we've always enjoyed all Miguel's bit the queso being tasteless was a reall bummer. Chips and salsa were good. Price was right for the quality I guess as it was happy hour.
Haven't been here in years, took the hubby & it was delicious! Every single flavor hit the spot and made the taste buds do a little dance! We were seated right away, even though they were busy. Their homemade chips, salsa, & that mouthwatering warm jalapeño queso dip were on the table promptly, followed by our drinks. It was a beautiful day to be near the water, clear, warm, nice breeze -especially when sitting outside on the 2nd floor patio. Food was up pretty quickly too, I ordered the Camerones Jalisco -bacon wrapped shrimp on a layer of the jalapeño queso with rice and beans - crispy and perfectly cooked (not rubbery at all). He ordered the Miguel's Tamales -1 pork & 1 green Chile & cheese, covered in their individual sauces with rice and beans, both were well flavored and tender. Went back the next weekend for brunch with my godson, the coconut French Toast Combo-just wow, so good! The coconut flakes toasted on the fluffy French Toast and the batter mix were a flavor dance party for the taste buds, can't wait to go again for it!
We went to San Diego and her. This was a nice place, so we decided to stop for dinner. Most of the seating is upstairs. There's no booth that's all tables and chairs which is fine but not ideal when you have small children. One of our children was sleeping so we had to hold. Who are the whole time usually with a booth we can lie her down. The tables were close together. Therefore, it was a bit on the loud side. A little too loud for me to be honest. They gave us chips with salsa in Cheesy queso dip. I didn't care for the salsa too much. It had an unusual taste for different. The chips were also a bit different. I don't know if it was the oil or type of tortilla. They used and almost tasted like a Multi grain chip. They weren't bad. They were just different. I did like the queso. The waiter made us feel rushed like he was in a hurry. He came back a few times but just felt like he didn't have time to wait for us And was in a hurry. We ordered food we got bacon wrapped shrimp enchiladas. Bean and cheese burritos for the kids. The food was very good, no complaints there. The enchiladas had a very tasty sauce with them. I enjoyed them a lot. The bacon wrapped shrimp was great. Can't go wrong with that the kids love their food. I did feel like the restaurant was more focused on adults. There was a page in a 1/2 or 2 pages on the menu of drinks. There was a bar inside.I'm not sure I would come back here with small children. The price is where a little on the higher side. I don't know if that's to be expected with the area or not most. Items were seventeen plus a lot of items were over twenty the bacon Shrimp was 26. Overall, I was pretty satisfied. The food was very good. The chips and salsa could be better. Create for adults just okay for kids Although they did have a kid's menu and cranes for coloring in the beginning, it was pretty loud.

The shrimp quesadilla with the chipotle tortilla was NOT good. Awful. Waste of money. I'd rather eat taco shop and it'll taste better for half the price.
What a lovely location on the bay! The food was good, the server was friendly, and the atmosphere was super chill. If I'm ever back in San Diego, I would eat here again.

Really good Miguel’s location! No wait, and the service was super fast! Food was hot and great, and they kept drinks and chips filled! Would definitely recommend...great location!
This Mexican restaurant wasn't too far from our hotel, so we thought we'd give it a try. The atmosphere was fun and authentic. Unfortunately, the food and service were a three at best. The food had a strange taste throughout. I couldn't quite identify what it was exactly, but it just had an odd taste. 🤔 The strawberry Margarita was extremely sweet and tasted watered down to me. 3 stars overall. Total bill $52.80 for two meals and 1 drink.
The pork belly tacos were over cooked. The octopus tacos should've been grilled. I did not like the margarita . It tasted watered down, no flavor. Waitress said they were premade? Although, the…
I was hoping for traditional Mexican style albondigas tasted more like sopita was also hoping to get all the fixings (tortillas, rice, diced onions, cilantro, and salsa) service was good but food was mid at best serving size could be larger.
